Damaged upon arrival
Couldn’t see if this is good or bad since it was badly damaged upon arrival. Looks like it was dropped somewhere along the transit. Corner of receiver is bent with dial knob fell off to somewhere inside the box. Need more “Fragile” warning.

Surprisingly good!!
I have been shopping this for a while. I always buy everything on Amazon but I knew they had it for the same price as best buy, so I went and picked it up. I have always found that the heaviest speakers seem to be the best. So as I was installing this I didn’t have much hope bc the speakers are so light. I kept thinking no way this will be good these feel cheap. Wow, I was wrong. This thing rivals my Denon with Polk Audio speakers that I have in the living area(however, it is a smaller bedroom, unlike the Denon which is in a wide open space.) I think the price is okay when it is on sale. But there is no way I would have bought it at 779.00. Not when i could get a 7.2 or 7.1 for near that price. But since it’s on sale, ya, I say it’s a pretty good option. So back to the sound. I always use YouTube videos for “surround sound test” and this thing is pretty awesome for my bedroom. I don’t know if I will be in the living area much anymore lol. Movies and video games etc also sound awesome. It’s also 8k upgradeable so when 8k becomes a thing, I will be able to have it too without having an out of date receiver.Excited to go to bed tonight so I can use this bad boy!

Best decision I’ve made in a long time.
This thing is amazing. You do got to make sure its tweaked right in the settings. Also, depending on what you are watching it on that device may need setting up as well . I have it hooked up to a computer so once everything is dialed in it sounds great. The receiver accepting a second subwoofer is icing on the cake. I picked up a powered sony 10″ sub on sale and now it shakes the entire room. I do Highly recommend buying a secondary sub because the bass is nice but not the greatest.

What a great little system!
I snagged a pair of Klipsch RP-8000F speakers at a really good price with the thought of building a high end surround sound system with them. It got daunting though because between high end receiver, center channel, rear channel and sub(s) it was going to cost like $4K. I knew that going in, and figured each month I’d buy another piece. But having to accumulate all this over a year or so and not being able to use it was driving me nuts.I ran across this Yamaha surround sound system for $600ish bucks and grabbed it. The idea being I can have a system to use while I slowly replace each component over the next year with the high end stuff. Then at the end I’d have this system to repurpose as a nice stereo for my office.I got it home and set it up with all the stock speakers. I am really impressed. The speakers are small and inexpensive but Yamaha did a great job making sure everything is balanced and sounds good.While I’m excited to start replacing the speakers with larger Klipsch speakers, I honestly would have been pretty happy with the $600ish system as it sits. To put it another way, when my $4K high-end system is finished it’ll be a 10 out of 10. This little system cost $600ish and probably rates a 7, may even even an 8 out of 10 which is pretty amazing.If you want a surround sound system in a box, this is the one to get. And because it’s based on a Yamaha receiver it’s easy to upgrade. Just buy it. You won’t regret it.

Great Surround Sound System
I’ve owned several brand name Surround systems in the past. This Yamaha system has the best separation sound that I’ve ever had. Each speaker has tons of adjustments to get the sound just right for your room. I love the fact that there is a separate equalizer and volume control for each speaker. It also comes with a mike that lets the receiver adjust the speakers for a balanced set up. I liked this unit so much in my living room, that I bought a second unit for another room that has a 150″ home theater. I highly recommend this system.

This is by far one of the best sounding systems out there. This system wins over systems costing five times more. We can’t even turn the subwoofer up over half way because it thumbs that hard. This is a must buy.

Movies, gaming, music look & sound incredible.
I was playing Perfect Dark, and Rachet And clank Rift Apart one evening. The graphics on both games are incredible when using arc/earc on my 4K Bravia xr65x90k through this YAMAHA 5960 5.1.2 home theater. Later I will definitely add a second subwoofer and upgrade the speaker wire to 18 gauge.I was sitting there looking at the TV and was amazed at how crisp, clean, and clear everything looked and sounded. I could hardly believe my eyes and ears.If you have a PS5 and SERIES X and not have it connected to your gaming TV through the HDMI input arc/earc 4K/120, you’re not getting the full graphics capabilities those consoles are capable of putting out.At this price range this YAMAHA 5.1.2 5960 home theater is amazing and is working really with my TV.And make sure you are using a good quality HDMI 4K/8K 48gbps cable that supports HDMI 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc. 👍🏾 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Es un teatro genial muchas funciones suena muy claro y nítido el sonido suena demás bastante duro y bonito es de sentarte y indagar bien en tantas funciones muy a gusto lo único es q si te gusta escuchar música siento q le a hace falta algo de bajo para cierto géneros de música como rap reggaeton si le subes mucho el volumen se ahoga y distorsiona el bajo y a veces siento como si tuviera mucha voz o brillo use el ypao y mejoro algo pero no del todo por eso pienso q le falta bajo tal vez me falta indagar mas en su funciones en mi opnion es un excelente equipo y no deja de ser yamaha muy buena marca pero aparte de esto excelente compra

Guys, if you’re looking for the perfect starter surround system at a reasonable price, this is it. It’s not a cheap and gimmicky sound quality, but it’s not like blow you away kinda quality. You 100% get what you pay for here. I’m a big sound nerd and I could see myself settling with the speakers provided.

Took awhile but figured it out !
I had a lot of issue with this system and figured most of it out eventually. I am just waiting o. Replacement remote for now… but initially only 2 out of 5 speakers worked. The remote didn’t work. Speakers didnt play any speech in movies or TV….

Sad! We ordered this, remote doesn’t work – Update!
My son set this system up, took hours, and remote wouldn’t work. So it’s been sitting here for weeks. Wrote to company, wanted prof of purchase and serial number. Now we sit and wait and wait!It is now January 7th – Still can’t use it, no word from Yamaha. They haven’t gotten back.

Very difficult to connect the wires. Remote does not work. I changed the batteries with new ones and still does not work. Not sure how I get in touch to get a replacement remote. If I am not able to find a number, I will return the system

Has not lasted for even 4 months!
Bought this Amp, and it worked great for 3 months. It started powering off by itself and the HDMI ARC will no longer play through to the TV. I swapped HDMI to other inputs and still no luck.

Exceeded expectation
I have this in a 25′ by 15′ room with speakers mounted up near ceiling. The sound is great. I haven’t adjusted the system for centering yet and it still sounds like it is centered. It is enjoyable to listen to rich sound from cable TV and DVD. It is a great experience.

Purchase this for my partner for Christmas. I am not knowledgeable with this kind of stuff but after reading reviews and doing some research, I decided to purchase this one and glad I did, it was easy to set up, easy to program my remote and sounds awesome. Fantastic
Love this set up – I’m no audiophile but really like this all in one 5.1 surround sound. Only extra thing I had to order is some speaker stands but wiring and all that was included. Quality receiver and very good at swapping between sources and knowing where I want it to go to. The Yamaha “sound check” feature with the mic for testing distance and adjusting the surround sound is super easy and intuitive to use. Just a great product.

Great sound quality, especially for the price.
We recently moved our TV down to the basement, so had the space to move away from a the TV speakers to this system. Although cutting and mounting the rear speakers was a bit of a pain, once set up, this system just worked and sounds AMAZING. The surround channels are clear, the interface is reasonably easy to use and it works well with the TV and the PS4 via the ARC channel. So overall, a great product at a reasonable price.

GARBAGE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Over priced and worthless. Does not come with instructions for remote. The product itself is way over price for a piece of junk that won’t even stay powered on. If this is what Yamaha has to offer then I would advise against every buying any Yamaha products. This is particularly disappointing as Yamaha provided excellent products in the past, seems very few companies care a quality any longer.

Overall a great system
Overall this is a great system. Sounds really good. I am disappointed with the presets for the sounds as it doesn’t seem like you can dial in your own preferences but nevertheless for the money I do recommend it. Also the onscreen settings for it are super clunky but it is manageable.

Very good cost versus benefits
Bought to replace another Yamaha that we have used for 8 years. I like the sound quality and the way that builds the immersive experience.I used connected to a LG UR8000 and a PlayStation 5.It is very easy to install. The only major topic is that I couldn’t stream Apple Music through my Android Phone. I still need to test with the iPhone. (But I was able to stream via Chromecast 4K).Overall I recommend the product.

Awful system
So terribly awful. Short circuited after 1 month. Unbelievable. Amazon won’t let me return or refund. Would give negative stars if I could $900 down the drain

Easy to install and powerful sound!
We wanted to upgrade our sound system. Delivery and packaging were great!I am not tech savvy by any means but was able to install this with no issues!The different setting options are great that you can adjust to whatever you are watching. I like the sleek design of the speakers that I can still have the powerful sound without the bulky speakers all over the room.Only downside is the receiver is a bit on the bulky side so I had to buy a platform for it to be able to sit on my floating tv stand. But other than that this is a great system!

This system is just like a beautiful woman. It looks awesome and sounds even better. If it doesn’t want to work, then you are just gonna have to deal with it for a while, but is really worth it in the long run. All your friends will comment on how great it is so long they don’t have to put up with the little details. They definitely don’t get to touch it but they can admire. Samsung TV’s will fight you with this. About the only way I get it to work long term is to run an expensive optical cable from the tv to the unit. No Problems now but it defeats the purpose of all those hdmi’s on the back. To sum up, by the time you realize how much trouble this is, you have already spent so much time and money on it, you will just be happy to sit down and watch tv.

Not that Happy with this purchase
I was very excited about buying this product. Had suffered from poor sound quality, unable to hear dialogue etc from my 75″ Samsung QLED even after trying. 2 different sound bars. Thought this to be a fairly good bet compared to $1000+ systems. Here’s the feedback so far.Sound quality.. pretty good but nothing that blew my mind given the low benchmark I was coming from. I have a much cheaper Sony 5.1 in my basement. Sound is comparable with that. PS: I do need to fix the placement of the surround speakers so hopefully it’ll improve then.Everything else:Disappointed that it doesn’t support YouTube premium for streamingGoogle assistant support is useless as all you can do is turn on and off the system. Can’t stream, cant cast, no “ok Google”. This was a big reason I bought this model and not the slightly cheaper Yamaha 5.1 system (the predecessor to this model)Music cast app took a lot of pain to set up and looks like from the early 2000s. You won’t really use it much. Even there casting doesn’t work properlyRemote is from the 90s tooIf I could redo everything, I’d buy the receiver separately, buy bigger tower speakers and separate 7.1 speakers. Bought this for the convenience of everything together but you’ll be fine without that.

lots of bells and whistles
more adjustments than this amateur knows what to do with or explain. good system for the money. packaged really well to protect it during shipping. it does come with flimsy speaker wire but i stepped mine up to 16 gauge as well as subwoofer cable. does not come with hdmi cables. i think it is money well spent.

Better than EVER expected!
The media could not be loaded.
Just connected these yesterday and I dont Wanna leave my living room 😍😍 the subwoofer is turned only 1/4 of it’s capacity and the who room is trembling from bass like in the movies 🤩🤩 highly recommend! The only thing you need is HDMI cable and wire strippers, everything else included 😊 the video doesn’t do these speakers justice, I wish I lived In my own house I’d blast it

Better than expected
Got this to replace a Sony sound bar that I had previously bought 2 months prior to this, wasn’t Happy with the Sony product which was surprising cause I’m usually always satisfied with them. This Yamaha system blew the Sony product outa the water, GREAT surround sound quality with CLEAN deep bass…id definitely recommend this to anyone.

Sub didn’t want to connect. It was frustrating
After hooking all of the speakers up, the thought of the simple plug in for the sub was nice. Until we tested it out with a movie….NOTHING. SILENCE. FROM. THE SUBWOOFER. Ugh It took like 12 mins to figure out what was wrong. And we STILL don’t know. But we ran a second testing of the acoustics and ?? THEN it worked?! But mystery.

Better than my previous system!
I have been unhappy with my Onkoyo receiver and Bose speakers for many years. I finally decided to do something about it. This system is much better! I actually have a decent surround sound setup now!

Great beginner’s home audio
This product is great for beginners! If you wanted something a little bit better I would personally look into SVS Prime or Klipsh speakers with a 1700X(or bigger) Denon receiver.

Cable faltente.
Hizo falta el cable Antena de DAB/FM.El receptor AV es fabricado en Malasia, a como dice la información de publicidad; pero los parlantes son hechos o fabricados en Indonesia. Entiendo que deberían de ser fabricados en un mismo país. Tampoco vino ningún manual; sino una guía rápida.

A solid system
Had to replace a system that I had from the 70’s due to a lightning strike. This unit truly gave me more than I expected based on the value my insurance placed on my attachment to my old system.

Good value for a simple home stereo
It’s crazy how cheap these things have gotten for the amount of sound they produce. I set this up in our basement home theater in combo with an Epson projector (HDMI ARC audio). The room is about 30’x25’, so it’s not a small room. There is MORE than enough undistorted volume in this system to run it in our home theater… and what I mean by undistorted is there was still plenty of volume to go when testing it out. In my opinion, if you wanted a better system it would be pointless unless you jumped to $2k+. And it would still probably not be necessary, unless you were filling a huge room. We have a $2k Sonos system upstairs, this Yamaha sounds equally as good. Pull the trigger.
