    Best Computer Ever Owned!

Cannot believe how smokin’ fast this MacBook Pro runs! No problem handling multiple tasks such as McAfee in the background, Opera web browser, Face Time, and Adobe Photoshop all at the same time with zero lag!My very first computer was a second hand, Apple IIe (Circa 1986?) Since then, I have owned everything from a custom built desktop, Gateway desktops, Dell and HP laptops, and an Acer gaming laptop. Right out of the box, the MacBook Pro leaves them all in the dust! There was a bit of a learning or relearning curve after decades of being enslaved to PC’s but that challenge is trivial compared to the phenomenal performance of the Mac.Also, this is the first time in many years that I have purchased a new computer that was not preloaded with a bunch of “try it then buy it” software! Most if not all the PC’s, no matter the brand, come loaded with that crap. Not having to delete and uninstall all the junk software on a typical new PC is just one more reason to go with a Mac.The one thing I would like to have seen different is for Apple to include a bit more documentation along with the hardware. Not that it is all that difficult to download it from their support web site but a few more pages of basic operational instructions would be of great help for most PC users.Even with the sparse documentation, the MacBook Pro is, by far, the best computer I have ever owned and I look forward to many hours of highly productive use of this superior product!

This replaced i7 quad core MacBook Pro 15

I love Apple products, in fact I have an “Apple House”… I’ve had the first iPhone, I had the first iPad, I had the first MacPro, I had the first Apple display, I had the first iMac, I had the first Apple TV, I had the first Apple Watch, the only thing I’ve never had was the iMac mini.Apple products are great especially if you know how to use/take advantage of its power.I only replaced certain Apple products as needed to take advantage of new features vs value for money. IE I only replaced my original iPhone for the 3GS which I kept till the iPhone 5 which had the fingerprint scanner for security which was easier for me and saved time vs entering my long passcode. After that the 6plus model stayed with me till the X model, then the 11promax is staying with me till a newer model that shows me significant improvements that I both want and need.So what I’m trying to say is my original MacBook Pro 15 with the i7 quad core processor (btw it was the first model with an SSD drive) and using Thunderbolt 2 all these years, also meeting the minimum requirements for all the music & video software I use kept me going fine and fast till I finally seen a model that meet new standards for me to be worthy of an upgrade purchase. I never liked the Touch Bar using it at the Apple store so once they took it away and added the fingerprint scanner, plus the M1max processor combined with Thunderbolt 3 ports, plus the 16” display, extra battery time, and so many other features THEN IT WAS TIME FOR A NEW MacBook Pro.

MACBOOK 16.2 – I wanted to LOVE THIS LAPTOP, and I DO! MACBOOKS ARE SOLID!

I was able to clear up the mousepad clicks by turning OFF 3 finger clicks. MAKE SURE YOU DO.After just enabling 1 and 2 finger clicks, the larger touchpad works GREAT!I could easily spend $4K on a PC, but the Macbooks are SO MUCH NICER for daily usage. I did buy a cheapUSB-C 3.2 hub, and then I really only need 1 USB-C plug (90 degree angle, very sharp and clean). This machine is so much nicer to work with, considering it never gets HOT, the fan never goes ON, I’m in heaven and become suddenly religious! ;-)Much like other reviewers, I just want to cry, with 10 hours of battery life on 1 charge. It never gets over 72 degrees. I can walk all over the house with a 16″ screen, no problemo, my 15 macbook was the machine that made me an Apple devotee, but always upgrading it, 2TB SSD, external drives, new battery, newer USB ports, better touchpad, newer generations, I have 4 macbooks now, need to sell the oldest 2, the previous first one got donated to the church for music and media transmission. This mac was almost perfect out of the box, the screen is so vibrant, you can not believe. Worth buying a new one, test it like crazy and make sure it’s a good one, or send it back and get another!I have iphone 7s, 11s, ipad, 15″ macbooks and this 16″, I love apple products and spend very little on them compared to Android and PC machines, since mostly I pick up used Apple products, and this is the first time I purchased new for a macbook in my whole life. Well worth it!

    Best Laptop on the market

With the latest version of Macbooks using M1 processors combined with excellent Mac OS software power management, this laptop lasts over 21 hours on a single charge. So now I dont have to be so OCD of having to constantly check my laptop’s battery power unlike windows laptops. This in itself is a game changer.Additional Pros:-one of the 1st on the market with a mini led laptop screen providing a bright uniform screen.-runs cool and quiet (such an understatement not to hear a fans running full throttle) and as the name laptop implies, this does not burn and can confortably place this on my lap without overheat.-best by far laptop speakers on the market.-pleasant short throw but with enough tactile feedback typing keyboard experience-1080p webcam for clearer web conferencing.Cons-Pricey compared to the competition.

    Multiple MacPro user

I have owned a used 2013 and 2016 MacBook Pros. I also have a new desktop from 2013. I was considering updating my desktop when my relative who works in IT suggested getting rid of all the older technology and buying a new MacBook Pro and a 32 inch screen. After some thought I figured if anything went wrong with the screen on my desktop after an upgrade I would be sunk. Since the desktop contains all the running hardware it would be a total loss if the screen died. Therefore my best ROI would be to invest in a new laptop and 32 inch screen. Thankful I made the change with 18 months to pay for the laptop interest free. I will never go back to a Windows machine, too many system problems, viruses and blue screens for me. The constant need to pay for “upgrades” and MS refusal to support legacy products is a rip off too. I have never had issues with my OS in Mac. No viruses or system problems, free upgrade of OS and fixes for bugs without blue screens.

    Too big for Commercial Flights

The M1 Max MacBook Pro 16” is a powerhouse. I have enjoyed the performance of this computer. I use it to run OBS, Propresentor, Abelton, Davinci Resolve, Main Stage, and various productivity apps. The battery life is excellent for its class; I only plug in when I need the extra power. This computer is not very portable; I don’t mind because I need the screen real estate. I can’t use it on planes, and it’s a tight squeeze in the back of an SUV. However, I don’t typically use it in these environments. If you shut down your computer and turn it on, it won’t allow you to use the finger scanner. Initially, I found this annoying, but I have learned to live with it. The same thing is typical in iPhones and iPads.Another thing to note, this computer is expensive, and if you want to buy apps or programs, you should consider the cost of those programs.

    WOW

I recently upgraded to this amazing MacBook Pro model from my 2015 version, and the difference is truly remarkable. It’s a substantial upgrade in terms of performance and features, which is exactly what you would expect from a top-tier company like Apple. What makes it even better is that I was able to purchase it as an open box item for 50% of the original price. It’s a fantastic deal that further enhances the overall value of this exceptional MacBook Pro.

    Excellent computer

I got a used 16inch macbook pro. The computer and fast and beautiful to look at. The only problem i have with it is the screen. The one i got had a really bad blooming affect. I read online and find out that this is a case for this mini led screen. It is beautiful but when you are surfing the net at night with black background or night mode you will get annoyed on how bad the blooming effect is. So im returning it.

    Stellar computer

I got this macbook, m1 max 32 core gpu / 32 GB of ram, for work purpose and this blows my mind miles away, i never found such good a display, it is so accurate and nice to work with. The notch, what notch 😀? unless you are looking for it, you wont notice there is a notch, at least with the default wallpaper. I tend to change the wallpaper with a light one just to make the notch visible and that is cool, I mean it is the sole laptop to feature this, you’ll feel more swagg in your body (joke)Concerning the battery life, it is stellar, I can easily use this laptop multiple days with a light use and charge it only once a day or 1.5 days for a heavy use. I tested Windows 11 on it using parallels desktop and it is so fast…I also the ipad pro m1 11 and it is so natural to work with both I am actively waiting for the universal control feature to be releasedperformance is also there..the sound is PPerfect loud and cristal clear..I am satisfied at 101% 😊

Steve Jobs must be rolling in his grave.

I just upgraded from Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro Late 2007 to Monterrey on a MacBook Pro 16. Steve Jobs must be rolling in his grave. They seem to have been busy “fixing” things that weren’t broken and not fixing the things that were, Making changes to the interface for the sake of change and, in general, locking things down so far that you can’t use them. I have a password protected FileMaker database that now requires the password every 30 minutes or so if it is left open. They should fire whoever decided to put the “notch” in the center of the menu bar. What were they thinking? I need a $50+ dongle to attach anything and the setup to attach a Firewire 400 device is something only Rube Goldberg could love. I can’t read the light gray text on a white background that is the unchangeable system default. The speakers have so much bass that the sound is distorted – and there is no way to change it. I could go on and on but this is not the place. The Mac is now the worst computer on the market… except for all the others.

MacBook Pro 16″, 1TB, this baby rocks!!!

MacBook Pro 16″, 1TB, this baby rocks!!! It was finally worth upgrading from my 2013 MacBook Pro 1TB. Despite all the hype abut the models that followed, the 2013 model could still keep up just fine. Now with the new OS Aventura and the M1 Processor, the upgrade finally made sense. Love the finger ID, saves time with all the added security needed these days, and the passwords are automatically entered with the touch of your finger! When uploading your old data, be sure to do it from a time machine backup… it is the most reliable and the fastest way to upload your exiting data. Five stars on this new 16″ MacBook Pro!

Amazing Performance and best value for my hard earned money

I’m 26, living somewhere in East Africa. I order this beast for software development works. Amazon delivers it on US ZIP before the expected time. This device is premium, speakers are too good than required. The screen is bigger and bright.Apple has done an amazing job with M1 Chip. It is too fast and quiet. I will miss my old 2017 13″ MBP fan noise. The camera is better and plays nice in a poor-lighting environment.Generally, It deserves a poor kid’s hard-earned pennies.

Great condition, good value, happy with the laptop

Bought this to replace an XPS 17 9700 (i7-10875h, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, RTX 2070 max-q) and while it’s not a fast (probably 85% for Davinci Resolve exports, 90% for After Effects, equivalent on those games that will run on Windows or macOS like the Tomb Raider series) the battery life is significantly better. I’ve also never had an XPS that would just turn on when you opened it up – both the 17 and my older 13 would take a minute to wake up.As for the MBP itself, I saved several hundred vs new, it was actually available (at the time of purchase, Apple’s backorder on MBP 16s was 60 days), and although listed as “good” condition, I can’t find a thing wrong. No scratches, scuffs, battery is good, and the screen is perfect.

Love the computer– but will NEVER buy Apple on Amazon again!

I’ll start by saying I LOVE the computer. I’ve bought MacBook pros several times in the past, and this is everything I expect and more. Gorgeous screen, quality speakers, love that there’s an SD card reader and lots of ports (unlike my 2016). Also, the battery life is impressive. I can work all day on one charge!BUT … this will be the last time I buy Apple on Amazon. I’d pay the extra $$ and buy it directly from Apple. I was sent the wrong item (a 14″ instead of a 16″). So I immediately returned it and purchased another computer (I needed it for work!).Nearly a month has passed, and I still have no update to my account and no refund. Communication has been terrible about the status of my return. My account still says they will process my return when they receive my item (the UPS receipt says they received it over 20 days ago). So, for now, I have an uneasy feeling and an extra $2200 on my credit card 🙁 I found out only after several phone calls to customer service that if you need to return an Apple product, it takes +30 days to process the returns!

    Excellent Product / Excellent Seller

I was skeptical at first to buy a MacBook from Amazon instead of at a store, but I’m glad I made the purchase. Product arrived in 1 day and was exactly as described. The apple store had a month wait for the same product. Just make sure when you buy this item to also buy a USB-C to USB adapter if you want to use older peripherals. The only negative thing that occurred was the UPS driver just left the package on the front door (even though it was indicated that a signature was required). When I went to check the order status on Amazon, I saw that the driver put my last name on the signature line. Luckily, it was not stolen otherwise I’d be trying to get reimbursement from Amazon right now.

Was an amazing machine for almost a full month…

Now, I can no longer stream Airplay without major freezes and glitches, the operating system slows to a crawl when I connect an external hard drive, and I have to constantly restart my machine because if I don’t I can’t get a drop down menu for Finder or Adobe. I have used the help pages in vain, and Apple Care? Yeah, Apple Care is nothing of the kind. When I attempt to get some help by calling the Apple Care Center, they take me through the dummy-fixes and when that doesn’t work they unceremoniously disconnect me. Nice.Update: Not wanting to go through the hassle of a so-called “Genius” Bar experience (the last time I used them was ten years ago, and when they put Humpty-Dumpty back together again, they neglected to reconnect the internal CD drive cable), I went back to using my Razer for a while and just kept updating my Apple. Three updates later, everything worked. It’s actually a pretty amazing machine, but it only gets three stars because when they shipped it the software was still very much a work in progress. If I want to purchase a machine featuring software that’s not ready for prime time, I can always buy another PC. Apple was supposed to be better than that.

It’s a MacBook pro, what can I say

The computer is amazing. What else can I say. I expected a lot, and it delivered. The battery life is phenomenal, and it charges super fast. I haven’t really been able to challenge the computing power much because of how well equipped this machine is. I frequently run Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom and Chrome with 20 tabs open simultaneously with no issues. The speakers are mind boggling. They somehow create this amazing surround sound effect and I still don’t understand it.I will say, it is very heavy. Noticably heavier than past models I’ve owned. But it makes sense considering how much this machine is packing in.I had some qualms about the notch on the screen, but I’ve installed an application called TopNotch that blacks out the top bar and hides the notch for most scenarios. The screen real-estate is great though. I also appreciate the periodic 120hz refresh rate. Still a bit behind on that one, apple. We’ve had accessible 144hz monitors for years at this point.Having a built in SD card port has made my use much more convenient for importing photos from my DSLR. The magsafe charging port is also excellent. No more worries about accidentally breaking the USB-C cable from tripping over the cable. The cable is also threaded and feels great.I appreciate the fingerprint sensor, but it’s a little bit finicky. I have to hit space to wake the computer before using the fingerprint scanner or else the screen flickers and does weird things.I’m surprised to say, but I miss the touch bar. I used it for brightness and volume adjustment often and had it customized to take screenshots easily. But I LOVE the tactile ESC key. That’s something I have always wanted back on the Macbook series. The keyboard is nice. I miss the metal backing to the keyboard, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. The trackpad is as good as ever, no issues there.Overall, it’s excellent. Well worth the investment.

Way too expensive, but also the best laptop I’ve ever owned.

It needs to be about $1000 cheaper, especially if you don’t get the pro max. It feels crazy to spend 3 grand on a laptop with no offboard 3d video card. However, once you get past the price, this is hands down the best laptop I’ve ever owned. It almost breaks the laws of physics we’ve gotten used to with portable devices. You can have battery life, or you can have speed, but you can’t have both. Well you get both. This thing will happily do the most intensive rendering, gaming, whatever, on battery power and not bat an eyelash.I don’t even recharge it daily or even bi daily. I charge it a few times a week….It’s THAT good at running on battery. If you’re not using it, it can go weeks in sleep mode and still wake up with lots of battery left. The display is amazing and there is little to no halo. If you took a photo of the screen and processed the image to make it brighter, sure you’d probably find a little blooming against black backgrounds, but in front of it, your eyes only see very bright highlights, and inky blacks. The sound is amazing. It isn’t just a full sound, it’s pretty flat and accurate sound considering it’s a laptop. I often don’t even reach for my headphones because there is nothing at all offensive about the built in speakers. It is a little chonky and on the heavy side compared to the Macbook Air I’m used to, but still very portable and a solid build.Gaming. It can do it. I don’t know what gaming on Mac’s is like with a Radeon card, but the apple silicon is more than capable of running games like Kerbal Space Program and Heroes of The Storm at 60+FPS and that is good enough for me.The on board storage is BLAZING fast, like >2000MB/s fast. If you have the space, this is a video editing power house between the fast on board storage, and ultra fast RAM speed.

    Very pleased (so far!)

I was a bit concerned about the fact that Apple has moved away from Intel and is now producing their own M1 processor but I have to say it is incredibly fast. My company provides me with my computer of choice for work and in 2020 I received a top of the line MacBook Pro with an Intel 8 core i9 processor and 64GB of memory and 4TB SSD that retailed for close to $5,000 and I have to say this new MacBook pro with the 10 core M1, 16 core GPU, 1TB SSD and only 16GB of memory at almost half that price seems much faster. The display is just stunning. The graphics quality is among the best I’ve seen and video performance is flawless. it’s everything a MacBook pro should be. High performance in a sleek aluminum case. A couple of things to note if you are not familiar with this computer and thinking of buying one. It only comes with 3 USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 interfaces. So you are going to need adapters if you plan on using any wired peripheral devices like keyboard, mouse, external drives etc.. that have standard USB interfaces. And at a minimum you should be backing your system up to an external drive. So, I’d recommend buying a USB-C to USB hub as I’m not big on adapters. There’s several here on Amazon in the $20-30 range. Also, like most other manufacturers, Apple has dropped the DVD/CD. It’s not even an option. If burning DVDs and CDs is still a thing for you, again you can connect an external device with a hub or adapter. I’d also recommend buying a cooling tray, especially if you are going to leave this computer on a desk powered up perpetually or for long periods of time so you can protect the CPU and more importantly the GPU from heat. Lastly, a few words on MacOS Montery that shipped with this computer. The most recent OS I was using was Sierra on my MBP 2013 and the learning curve was not difficult at all. My only complaint is Monterey turns on a lot of stuff I don’t need or even want. For example, as soon as I signed in with my Apple ID to sync my music from iCloud, I started getting texts, Facetime and even phone calls for my entire family on my computer. We use the same Apple ID for all our devices for a number of reasons and while it wasn’t too difficult to disable, I’d rather Apple leave that up to the user. I’ll post an update more geared toward the performance and reliability of this system as time goes by but for now, I have to say I’m very pleased and would highly recommend this new MacBook Pro. One final comment on the purchase process. I actually ordered one directly from Apple. I live about 60 miles from an Apple store and wanted it shipped to me. I was given a projected ship date about 3 weeks after placing my order. After waiting almost the full 3 weeks, my order was still processing and hadn’t moved toward the preparing to ship status. I then realized Apple has a store here on Amazon, they had exactly what I wanted in stock. So after canceling my order with Apple, I bought my computer here on Amazon and it arrived in 2 days.

    Absolutely worth it!

Edit: To add to this review. I’ve noticed some people are complaining about USB ports. Please PLEASE do your research before you buy! It’s all USB C ports. HDMI is great to use a Monitor, free’s up a USB C port for other devices! The SDHC ports are also available, and absolutely necessary for the everyday Photographer, videographers. That don’t use a C Fast memory card (Which most computers you’ll need an adapter anyways, but anyone that used normal SD chips for their camera’s, it’s a great to use! My last windows computer didn’t have one, and I ABSOLUTELY needed it, (it’s all I could get at that time and luckily I had a USB Adapter) and really no cons. I’m always on this computer, always needing to edit something, and it’s been great to have! Otherwise refer to my original review below this edit. It’s absolutely fast. Faster than I expected it to be honest. This is my second ever Mac, coming from a renewed mod ’09 MBP i got in ’17.This Mac blows everything that I own out of the water. Battery lasts me ALL day. Depending on what I’m doing. If I’m editing in premiere pro, or after effects all day. It’ll drain a lot faster. If i have Netlfix, YouTube, or Twitch running most of the day. It lasts quite a long time.Browsing and talking with people lasts nearly 2 days. I’ve had this a week now, and there are no faults with this unit.It came in great condition. No issues with the computer, no scratches and its box was in good condition. It’s nice and smooth. The only thing that I don’t like, is I can’t tether Android. But that’s Apple’s fault. I can tether on El Capitan, 10.1 MacOS. But not Monterey 12.2.1.I assume it has to deal with the M1 chip though. Some programs don’t work with the new M1 chip. But otherwise. No qualms with the package, and shipping was fast.

    Vast improvement over earlier models

Apple made a bunch of missteps over the course of designing the more recent MacBook Pro computers, most notably the poor keyboards followed by the god-awful Touch Bar. (Props to Apple for trying to innovate and the Touch Bar was a cool idea, but it was a solution that created more problems than it solved.) Eliminating more of the ports on more recent MBPs was also problematic, limiting everything to USB-C/Thunderbolt only, even down to killing the very popular MagSafe power plug. After getting one of those more recent models from my employer for work, I was able to find out first hand just how bad they really are. This new model reverses SO many of those poor design decisions. MagSafe has returned (while still retaining the ability to also charge over USB-C), the keyboard is far better, the Touch Bar has been eliminated and physical function keys have been brought back to replace it (YAY ESC), and a built-in HDMI port and SD card slot have also returned. As soon as I saw in the release announcement showing off what Apple had done with this machine, I ordered one immediately as I knew this was going to be a perfect replacement for my 2015 MBP – which I’d kept rather than upgrading to the subpar designs mentioned above. I don’t regret the purchase at all. This is a fantastic machine. The only downsides I’ve experienced are due to the transition to the M1 processor. For 99% of users this won’t matter one bit as the performance of the M1 Pro is exceptional. My individual problem is the migration of architecture; moving from x86/x64 to ARM meant instantly losing the ability to run VirtualBox and VMWare. VirtualBox will likely never run on the M1 architecture, and while VMWare is working on a new ARM version and Parallels is also available, they only allow for virtualization of ARM guest systems. Good enough for ARM builds of Linux (and limited versions of Windows), but Intel virtualization is now dead on the Mac. Again, this is not something that most people will ever run into, but for me it’s a bit of an inconvenience. The trade-offs, however, are worth it.

I am looking for something Wrong

I am three weeks in and I have not found a flaw. I do have big hands, but I can comfortably type on the keyboard. This is not as fast as some Windows computers, but video editing is a lot simpler. The display is outstanding. If you are not purchasing this laptop for the display, then I am not sure why you would read this review. I do recommend purchasing a dock for more video options along with more connection options. The connections provided are too close and hence me using a USB-C dock. I am powering up two monitors and this works fine. I connect to my speakers via bluetooth and that works fine. I am not sure about the battery life, but I do not shut down this MacBook Pro and the battery life is long. This is worth every penny if you are a professional videographer/ photographer. I do not play games so I am not sure about the graphics for gaming. I do listen to sounds and this is impressive. I am returning my Windows based laptop because the sound is not even close. I have work on my heavy hands to not trigger the touchpad, but all else is great.

Using for digital art. It’s ok

From digital art student point of viewThe laptop is ok for digital art. It’s very pricey so think carefully before purchasing, and do note that compatibility issues are serious with a lot of tablet manufacturers. I was using a huion tablet for a long time before suddenly compatibility went haywire (without updating) and now on the latest osx ventura, it’s just a no go. Currently using a wacom intuos in its place and that’s working well for now :/The screen is a highlight for me, very very nice and big so very easy to work with, 120hz is a good plus too. Usb-c ports are fully featured, but when you need a dongle, for example for wireless connectivity, then plugging a usbc to usb A dongle, then the wireless dongle can lead to unexpected results (bad connectivity for things like a wireless express key thingy). Bluetooth is ok for things like music, but using a wireless tablet (the intuos) at th same time as wireless headphones can lead to some lag that is otherwise not present. It does have a headphone jack though, which I very much appreciate. On the flip side, for those of you who are actually thinking of getting this for digital art, think twice. A gaming PC, a PC laptop with ok specs, or similar solution, can be cheaper (or more expensive) and with less compatibility issues. True though, if you need portability and photoshop/zbrush etc, this is a good choice, as it has good performance, excellent battery life, and no heating (like at all). In that sense, it’s a beast, a really nice beast. If that is not necessary a PC desktop is a better bet, cheaper, more compatibility, all the juice you need, screen – any you may want, with as many Hz as you may need, and all the resolution you may need. If software is not the priority, I would recommend the ipad pro plus apple pencil in stead, it’s just so easy to use, it just works, and the software (procreate, clip studio paint etc) is much cheaper if you are just getting into thischeers

    Really good laptop

This is a really good laptop with solid construction which has pretty much no flex in the body compared to most Windows laptops. This laptop has amazing battery life as well and has better unplugged performance than most windows laptops while also beating them in battery life. The one thing that I regret about the model I got is that I only got 16Gb of Unified RAM which the GPU and CPU must share. I think 24GB or 32GB should be the minimum for future models based on M3

The hype may not be worth the price.

Clarity of the screen and improved speed were offset, for me, with a lack of a USB port, no DVD port, and still no compatibility with some apps that I would use. For me, I ended up having to buy an adapter for other devices which revealed that with the adapter plugged in I could not attach the power cord.I need to point out that I am NOT a power user and most interested in memory & storage capacity, screen size clarity, and speed. I recommend that one really look at what you are going to use your computer for and see how the computer meets those needs versus cost. I bought the MacAir Pro Max with M1 chip. For my fit I rate it a B+/A-.

Exactly One Month after the warranty ended the screen got lines along the left side of the screen and along the bottom extending all the way to the right side! It will cost me Over $1000 to replace the screen!!! I Never dropped it or did anything to cause this to happen! This was the first time I have ever purchased a Mac computer and it will be my Last!!!!

Finally 16″ MacBook Pro is not overheating

After years with PC laptop, I switched to 16″ MacBook Pro with Intel chip in 2020. It was a great laptop, except it was too hot to put on my lap! I brought it back to Apple store, and the tech at Genius Bar was scratching her head but just reinstalled the whole system; I then bought an app to boost the fan, a stand to leave the air vent away from any surface … … none of them worked. Now I traded it in for about 20% the purchase price, and got this 16″ MacBook Pro with M1 chip. I am so happy, because finally I can put this laptop on my lap!!!

Great model. No TouchBar. Excellent Display Hue. Beautiful Enclosure Design.

I’m happy to have waited for this purchase. $500 discount for being a soon-to-be-previous model. Skipped the TouchBar generations, thank God. (I use one at work.) The 16-inch display was the big seller. Major upgrade from my 13” 2013 MacBook Pro. I don’t doubt that this one will last as long.

    It’s a Apple product

What is there not to like? That’s the question. The keyboard is fluent and feels like a precision built piece of aerospace technology. The functionality is smooth and effortless and once you learn how to use all the functions it becomes even more effortless. I have a iPhone and that’s what made me look at this. You can’t go wrong.

    AMAZING

I haven’t used a MAC in about 20 years. Switching from PC to MAC had me worried about the learning curve and just figuring it out. I got my new MAC yesterday afternoon and I already have 80% of my stuff up and running. Still got some learning to do but I am simply amazed at this machines speed and ability to just know what I am trying to do. LOVE IT!

    Amazing Mac

I’ve never owned a Mac. Let’s just say I’ll never purchase anything other system. The photoshop and quality. The tools available are amazing. I’ve already begun restoring old photos from family albums. I love the seamless connectivity of my Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch are awesome and makes my hectic life more simplified. The battery life is crazy long. I’d say over 18 hours and it didn’t die in my. My work lap too dies after 4 hours of continuous use.

    What’s not to like?

Simply the best laptop I’ve owned. I didn’t need a smaller more portable laptop so I went with the 16 inch and I don’t regret it. I compared the 14 inch and 16 inch at my local Apple Store and really liked the Space Gray over the Silver. My laptop was delivered in 2 days in perfect condition! Highly recommend you check out the various reviews of the 14/16 inch MacBook Pro’s by MaxTech on YouTube.

Faster than my old MacBook Pro, too heavy

I wanted to love this MacBook Pro but it is too bulky and really heavy. I also don’t like that you can’t charge from both sides and again there is now a magnetic charging port. Which requires new replacement cables. Unfortunately I would not buy this one again.

What an upgrade from my 2015 MBP. I can run the same DaVinci Resolve project on this laptop with no latency. On my old MBP, it would stutter frame by frame and was virtually unplayable. If you do arts, work with video, or music software, get this laptop!

Defective 3rd party product. Neither store nor Amazon stands by the junk they sell.

The third-party seller peddles defective electronic equipment, I.e. laptop computer, with help from Amazon. The laptop speakers start crackling a month after received. Amazon representatives say contact seller. Seller says contact Amazon. Amazon says return window closed the day before so no returns, no refunds. Amazon says see if Apple can fix it – a computer sold as new that stops functioning as advertised a few weeks after received. At least two Amazon reps said the company would push through the return/refund process. Now they say the AtoZ warranty team is working on it. Conflicting statements. Arbitrary return windows. Companies passing the buck back and forth. Amazon selling for third parties, neither backing the products they peddleNot the way to treat a longtime customer and Prime member

    What a stellar machine

This machine is great!I’ve owned Macbooks purchased in 2004, 2007, 2013, 2015, 2019, and 2022. This one purchased in 2022 is probably my favorite one so far. Battery life is definitely the best compared to past generations. The OS X software seems to have gotten worse though–I’ve had this machine freeze many times where I had to force shut down the machine by holding the power button. Hope future updates bring more stability to ARM MacBooks. The mic and webcam are amazing on this machine. Strongly recommended for remote work!

    Dead Power Brick

When I plugged it in, the power adapter (“brick”) didn’t work. I used the adapter for my iPhone and that worked, so it wasn’t the cable or the computer. So now here I sit outside an Apple store, waiting for my appointment, fer cryin’ out loud. A great way to start a relationship with Apple, and I’m afraid it sort of confirms some of the stories I’ve heard about how superior Apple people act. I have to make an appointment and drive somewhere and then wait for somebody to say, “Yep, that’s no good,” and then give me another one under warranty. At least I hope it’s that simple!

    A Windows convert

I spent literally three years researching laptops to decide upon an appropriate upgrade. I finally came to the decision that Apple make better quality machines that are more efficient, stay cool more quietly, and run more smoothly than anything in the Microsoft (or Google) ecosystems. After getting my first iPhone last month, I got my first Mac with this device and I have to say it has not disappointed. The M1 chip runs Civilization VI with ease, and any other software I have tried. If you happen to have some Windows-only software, that would be a deal-breaker, but as it happens everything I run works on Mac (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Studio, FTP software, etc. etc.).The device runs fast, quiet, and smooth all the time and, though there is a learning curve – which I enjoy – the results are far more satisfying than Windows.

    Powerful MacBook

I upgraded from an 2019 15 inch MacBook Pro with touchbar and this thing is GREAT! I have to say that I do miss the touchbar a little, got used to having it suggest items right on the top, but this machine is incredible, battery lasts forever, doesnt run hot, is not noisy, and the screen is phenomenal. Super fast, I use it to run some video editing software as well as running the projector system at our church and this MacBook doesn’t even seem to notice the workload. Extremely happy, you wont regret purchasing, specially if you can get it when its on sale and on no-interest payment installment periods.

Macbook Pro M1 vs M2 – Which is the Better Buy?

The M1 Macbook Pro 16 inch is an excellent laptop for the price. It has a great display, a comfortable keyboard and trackpad, and a powerful processor. The M1 chip is more than capable of handling everyday tasks, and the battery life is impressive. The camera and speakers are also good, making it a great choice for video conferencing and streaming. The M2 chip is not worth the upgrade, as the marginal improvements are not worth the extra cost. The M1 Macbook Pro 16 inch is currently the best price to performance laptop on the market.

A great computer with some very nice features.

I went from an “Early 2015 MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina display” to this unit. The older computer had over 1600 battery cycles on it, but was still working well (just with more frequent charging needed). This one has a more robust battery, and I’m putting about 10 battery cycles on it each month. I’m really enjoying the larger screen, and the Touch ID feature is great. Yes, it is weighs a bit more, but I’m glad I didn’t let that stop me.

    5 Stars for the packaging

I ordered a pair of these during cyber week 2022, missed my initial delivery. The UPS driver very gently handed this box to my wife on the second attempt, and while I don’t suspect any of the condition was directly caused by UPS, I’ve got to say, Apple’s retail packaging is stronger than I expected. It protected both MacBooks from some relatively extreme impacts from the look of the boxes, and both MacBooks were pristine in their dented boxes and fired up immediately.I think the issue with the condition of these boxes is due to there being no padding in the brown Amazon box, meaning the laptops were prone to sliding around inside and shifting package’s weight distribution like crazy.Anyway: good laptop, good retail boxes. Will buy more when I need more.

Mixed Feelings about the Apple M1 Chip

I recently purchased a device with the Apple M1 chip, drawn in by its impressive performance claims and energy efficiency. While there were definitely aspects of the M1 chip that lived up to the hype, I ultimately decided to return the device for a few reasons. The M1 chip delivered on its promise of lightning-fast performance, and I found that it handled most tasks with ease. Its energy efficiency was also impressive, as the device ran cooler and had a longer battery life compared to my previous Intel-based MacBook. However, I faced compatibility issues with some of the software I frequently use. I found that certain applications were not yet optimized for the M1 chip, which led to occasional crashes and lagging. Additionally, I had trouble with some peripherals and accessories that were not fully compatible with the new architecture.

    Surprised…

I needed a new MacBook and I usually go to Best Buy for the best computer prices. I was nervous that I had to have it delivered (but happy that a signature and code was required upon delivery). It arrived in perfect condition and works as expected for a brand new computer. Cheaper than anywhere else except for the Apple care which is the same price everywhere. Very happy so far…
