Surprisingly powerful!
I have had Echo Dots for a few years and thought this just had a bigger speaker and a more premium look. When I was setting up a home automation system, I found I needed a “Thread border router”, which this happens to be. Since it was on after-Christmas sale, I bought it. First, the sound IS much nicer. Music sounds like music, not a portable AM radio. Most of all, it can be the centerpiece of a Matter-based home automation system (lights, sensors, etc.) – and playing with the Alexa app reveals all kinds of possibilities. Setup was very easy and adding devices, like the Sengled light bulb I bought with it, is a breeze. The Echo even has an internal temperature sensor and you can use that to trigger notifications or home automation actions, like turning on a room fan or opening an automated window shade. I can’t wait to experiment with the new Matter-based devices as they come out — all with my Echo at the center.

Another Good Echo
Echo dot is great just like any other. Couldn’t tell you the difference in the features between the models. The Sengled bulbs are terrible. It seems like a good deal but mine constantly shut off at random times. My other smart bulbs are flawless these are bad.

Cool speaker
I like these speakers. I use smart bulbs and control them with my voice. Never needing to get up, or go to another room to turn off the lights is awesome, especially in my bedroom. I can crawl into bed and then have Alexa shut of the lights.Speaker is nice for music, radio etc. Admittedly not as nice as a sound bar, but sounds still sounds good.

As expected with a slight problem
#1 problem 🙄. It won’t play youtube music under any condition. Whatever music it plays defaults to gangster rap eventually.#2 The light bulb works great, however, I couldn’t connect after switching broadband providers. Upon checking there is a reset procedure that absolutely does not work and manufacturer recommends setting up new router with same name, password, and parameters as the old router. So now it is missing its more valued feature.

It’s perfect for the size of my room
1 star off because of the power cord. It’s white (I got the charcoal color) and it could be a bit longer.Other than that, for the size of my bedroom, it’s perfect for my needs. Sound is pretty good if you’re not an audiophile. For it’s size, it’s got some decent bass and I don’t feel like I’m missing too many highs or mids. I do wish it had another input or 2, Toslink and/or HDMI.I got it at a discounted price with a free smart bulb so I think it was definitely worth the moolah.

Hard pass, bulb won’t connect to alexa app
I have had about 100 smart devices. This one came with an echo and is supposed to be set up and controlled directly with the Alexa app. I can say that I would never buy this bulb again. It refuses to connect to the app and I’m not willing to get customer support for something that should work. I spent about 15 minutes resetting and reattempting to connect it. No luck. You should pass on this one due to its literal worthlessness as a smart bulb. It does light up like a normal bulb albeit a bulb that costs 15x as much as a non smart bulb.
