    Great but… Norton

Does everything it needs to was almost perfect until its software tried to sneak Norton on my pc, nahhhhh get that out of here. You can get around it but still thats annoying I didn’t get a mobo for norton.

    An epic motherboard.

First of all let me praise this motherboard. It gives you three slots to store your drives on with a screw built into hold said drives in place. This motherboard has never given me an issue. That said please buy this on sale. I only paid about $180 for this on the holidays.

    Execelente producto

decent board at a good value, horrible software/bloatware

got this for my 7800x3d. Board works fine, has some alright features for a decent price. Worst thing about this is the god awful gigabyte software. It is set to auto install the main software client (and accompanying bloatware) through the bios, and i strongly recommend disabling that and updating your drivers directly through the website. If you allow it to install with windows, it’s extremely hard to fully wipe from the system and you can expect to leave about 5-10% of your PCs performance on the table with all of this junkware running in the background. Additionally, controlling RGB through the gigabyte software is a nightmare and 9/10 times your profile won’t save or load correctly after a cold boot. I decided to return for a different manufacturer, but if RGB isn’t important to you, and you are savvy enough to navigate the BIOS and disable the board from preinstalling its bloatware to your pc, then I could recommend it.

    Works

It’s a modern motherboard. They haven’t gotten harder to make and with the removal of the 7 segment led it’s a shame they charge as much. Holds 3NVME drives

More expensive doesn’t always mean better

Switched to this motherboard for my new build after spending days troubleshooting a boot issue with a competitor’s board. While that issue could have been a one off, I couldn’t help but notice that despite this board being near half the price, it was 1) easier to build in because it isn’t over-engineered 2) fits more comfortably in the background, not competing visually with the other components for attention and 3) actually works. Solid product, Gigabyte.

    WARNING FOR BIG GPU’s

This had an easy clip for the gpu so you can easily take the gpu out if you wanted too, but the clip is kinda big and if you have a big gpu (I have a 7900 xtx) it makes it way harder than it needs to be to put the gpu in. The part of the east clip blocks the gpu and it don’t want to close. In my case it fit but I had to use a scary amount of force and when it finally clipped in, I thought I snapped it. Luckily I didn’t but I haven’t seen any reviews that address this issue. Hope it helps

    Phenominal Motherboard!

Phenomenal Bang for the buck and worth the extra cost over the B650 Aorus Elite Ax.No issues at all, Shipped with an older F4 Bios but the Voltages were within the AMD 1.3v tolerance even for an older bios.Flashed Bios to the latest 8c Revision. Everything works on the 8c Revision just can no longer save custom fan curves to the bios itself but you can save them to a Flash drive or use the Gigabyte Software and save them in windows itself.VRM Temps are amazing, As are the M.2 SSD temps, I didn’t opt to put in a PCie Gen 5 SSD in the top slot because the price to performance isn’t worth it for what I do at the moment So I opted for a Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB drive and it runs at a cool 38c under load in that Beefy Heatsink that comes with Thermal pads for both sides of the M.2 drive. “Ez latch” system works great but there’s no mention on HOW to use it at all I had to YouTube it. For those wondering you push down the end of the Plastic “Ez Latch” retainer and it’ll slightly pop up allowing you to insert the M.2 Then push down the popped up end lock it in place. The board also comes with Traditional M.2 Retention screw and posts for those that want to remove the “Ez Latch” system. The Highlight of my experience was the Front Panel Connector adapter “G Connector” that came in the package so much easier just slot the cables in the adapter and slide it into the front Panel connector pins on the board.Memory Training was Quick and Easy only waited about ~20 ish seconds for the first boot on the Older F4 Bios for the board to Memory Train on a G.Skill 64 MB Flare X5 6000 M/T CL30-40-40-96 Kit. After the 8c Bios Update Training times reduced, for those Ram Overclockers out there.Onboard sound, sounds great only wish it had the Traditional 5 ports on the back instead of the Optical input or Like some other boards 5 ports + Optical Input.Apparently the Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX boards had issues with Coil whine, I can confirm that is NOT an issue at all with the Gigabyte Aorus Pro Ax board. Also too Apparently the Intel 2.5 G Ethernet chip had problems or people are warning about that too, In my research the issues were on Intel Chipset Motherboards and not the AMD Chipset boards, and from personal experience Windows 11 already had a perfectly good working driver but I wanted the latest driver so I Just went to the Offical Gigabyte website downloaded and installed the latest Drivers No issues at all with the 2.5 G Ethernet port under the Intel Controller on this model. The board does weigh a good Bit given all the Heatsink and metal armor heat dissipation it comes with. Also For those that Don’t read the Motherboard Manual online – The Bottom PCIe 4 x 4 Slot Gets DISABLED if you Populate the 3rd M.2 Drive Slot on the board. Personally this isn’t an issue for me but for those of you running a Capture Card or a Thunderbolt Card in the slot Just know you CAN’T use the 3rd M.2 Slot. So given this make sure you get Big Enough Drives for your first 2 M.2 Slots! The Aorus Logo on the I/o Shield / VRM Heatsink Does Light up and is addressable RGB just have to install the GIgabyte Control Center to adjust it. The board does come with 4 Basic Troubleshooting LED’s about Mid board and has a nice manual power button on the board itself for testing and Troubleshooting. I only wish it had a 8 Segment Display like its more Expensive B650E and X670E Brethren.Working with this Motherboard was a lot easier then others I’ve worked with in the Past. Also too the Gigabyte Control Center Software does come with a lot of the other Drivers and Patches you’ll need so for those looking to do less and want to use the Gigabyte Control Center anyway just download that first and download the other drivers as needed afterwards.Full System Build:B650 Aorus Pro AXNoctua NH-U12A Chromax BlackNoctua NA-STPG1 – Thermal Paste GuardNoctua NM-AMB15 – AMD AM5 7mm Offset Mounting BracketsRyzen 7 7700XCorsair RM1000e PSUG.Skill Flare X5 64 GB 6000 M/T CL 30-40-40-96 Ram KitSamsung 980 Pro 2TB M.2 SSD3x Corsair ML140 Fans (Front Case)2x Corsair ML120 Fans (Blowing Air Into GPU)Re-positioned 2x Lian Li 140mm Fans to Top of the CaseMSI RTX 2070 TRI FROZR (Already had from Previous build)Gigabyte M27Q-P 1440p 27″ 165 Hz Gaming Monitor.Motherboard Box Includes:Motherboard nicely packaged in Anti Static plastic bagWifi Antenna2 Pin Pickup that can be used to adjust your fans based off of Internal case Noise DBA. (I’m not using this since i adjust fan curves based off of Temperatures and could care less about case noise)”G Connector” – For Front panel connectors to plug into and you plug it more easily into the front panel headers on the motherboard.2x SATA Cables1x M.2 Stand & 1x M.2 Screw (for those who don’t want to use the “Ez Latch” system1x Aorus Reflective Sticker – looks nice, thick for those who like stickers on or in their cases.Cons:No Included Driver USB or Disc even (USB CD/DVD/Blueray drives Exist so)Lower Fan Headers are Sandwiched next to the Front Panel Connectors which was Awkward for me, But good for Cable management in my chosen case. Not an “E” Variant Motherboard, Even though its 8 Layer PCB and Overbuilt Robust VRM’s and Cooling can more then handle it, I will say this though The 8c Bios Revision does let you configure the First PCIe Slot to Gen 5 x16 so? “Sleeper” In Disguise maybe?Must Keep the Gigabyte Control Center Software installed in order to keep the RGB Configuration for the Aorus Lighting and other case lighting no brainer I know but worth mentioning.Final Thoughts: Definitely would hands down buy this board again Comes packed with Features that some boards which cost way more or are “E” Variant boards come with. Thermal Temps are great and has an insanely Robust and overkill 16+2+1 90A Power Stages with 8mm Heatpipe vs Others at 75A or lower stages and 6mm Heatpipes. Picked this because I got Tired of Waiting for the B650E Aorus Master to come back in stock and I don’t believe in paying Scalpers their $100 – $200 dollar inflated prices.I know it was Long but I hope it helps someone make a better decision and pick up an amazing motherboard.

Awesome AM5 board with plenty of features and connectivity options

This review is for the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX rev 1.I ordered this board because I was on an older Intel platform and I wanted to try an AMD build again. The AMD AM5 platform suits my needs since it has current modern features and is projected to have a long lifecycle and I anticipate my next upgrade to be in 5 years or so.The GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX was one the lesser expensive and full featured ATX boards with WiFi at the time of my purchase. My build includes:GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX MotherboardAMD Ryzen 7700X CPUCorsair Vengeance RGB RAMZotac GTX 1080 AMP EditionFirst, my dislikes. No printed manual. As a lifelong pc builder, I rely heavily on a manual booklet for basic info such as what slots to install memory in. How to connect front panel power, reset, hdd status led etc. Where all of the headers such as USB and fans are located.Having an online manual is good but is useless if you don’t have a spare computer or laptop to use while you build your computer.Thankfully I did not have to use the BIOS flashback feature because the board recognized my CPU, a Ryzen 7700X, otherwise I would have to go online, download the manual and look up the flashback instructions. For the price I do wish that the board included a higher end integrated audio chipset. Features-wise the audio chipset is the biggest disappointment.I did not like is the top most NVME slot right above the GPU slot has a really thick thermal adhesive pre-applied to the heatsink. It is so thick that it bends my NVME drive slightly – not enough to cause any issues but should be noted. One last thing I did not like is the lack of onboard BIOS post code status LED. I had this feature on my previous motherboard and found it super helpful when diagnosing problems. Now, for my likes. I like all of the features. AM5 socket, DDR5, WiFi6, PCIe 5.0, multiple NVMe slots, plenty of USB slots, and of course RGB support. The board itself is great. Build quality is awesome, no issues with build quality or materials.I did run into a few issues though. Although these issues were encountered with this motherboard, they are not Gigabyte’s fault necessarily. These issues were mostly to do with the AMD platform and chipset itself.1. The shipping BIOS “F2” version did not allow me to enable XMP memory profile. I had to flash the BIOS to the current at the time “F4” BIOS.Note that the current BIOS version as of this review is “F5a”.2. There were a lot of stability or problems with the USB chipset or bus. File transfers over USB were very slow or slower than it should be. I have USB DAC that had a lot of noise during audio playback. These issues were resolved by installing the latest chipset drivers for the B650 from AMD directly and also updating the BIOS.Here are some recommendations based on my experience with the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX.Definitely update the BIOS. In past generations of motherboards it is only recommended to update the BIOS to fix a specific issue you’ve encountered. However, in modern motherboards there are so many chipsets and features that it is important to keep up to date on BIOS versions to maintain stability, performance, compatibility, and security. AMD seems to release AGESA updates (as BIOS updates) often and this is directly tied to the chipset. Also, download the chipset drivers directly from AMD because they tend to be more up to date than the motherboard manufacturers’ website. To flash the bios, just download the BIOS file for your motherboard from Gigabyte’s website and extract/copy the file to a USB drive. Reboot and enter the bios and choose Q-Flash. Select the BIOS, and the board will load the BIOS to memory then prompt for a reboot and apply the new BIOS.Aside from the chipset drivers, all other motherboard drivers can be downloaded and installed from Gigabyte.Ever since, updating the BIOS and AMD chipset drivers, I have had absolutely zero issues. Performance is amazing. Stability is solid. I even run a mild overclock using the AMD Ryzen Master app and doing an auto-oc.In summary, I highly recommend the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX if you’re looking for an AM5 build. The issues I’ve had are specific to the AMD platform and not the motherboard itself, however because of this I would not recommend the AMD platform for novice PC builders or if you are not comfortable or familiar with BIOS updates and troubleshooting driver issues.

Decent install; works mostly great, but cannot reboot

Install was pretty straightforward with the help of a couple manuals directing where everything should be plugged in. Got an OS installed and the rig has stellar gaming performance. My only two jarring complaints: XMP does not work (when I tried, PC would not boot until I CMOS-reset the BIOS to default settings), and reboot does not work at all. Literally the first place I emcountered this issue was at the reboot done during the OS install. Found out from others online that these are not an isolated issue and is a noted problem with this and some of GIGABYTE’s other motherboards.Still works great, but will not recommend any of GIGABYTE’s motherboards moving forward on account of this very disappointing pattern of issues. Hence the 1 star. Avoid this and go with a more reliable brand like ASUS. I will bite the bullet and avoid reboots in the meantime until the next chipset generation or two is released. Because I simply have zero confidence in their ability to fix the motherboard under their own warranty, and the only thing that can change my mind is for them to replace it, free of charge, with a board that does not have issues.EDIT (1/20/24)Fast forward a month, and I see my one star is more justified than ever. Since two weeks ago, BSoD after BSoD have been happening, and a lot of my diagnostic work on it points to a bad BIOS (which this rig will not let me update using the provided Q Flash utility), or bad RAM. Some friends suggested turning on XMP will help remedy the issue, but I cannot do this as aforementioned. And the RAM is only a month and a half old, suggesting that either the motherboard’s RAM slots are damaged/defective, or it’s been steadily damaging it. Could just be bad RAM on arrival, but I find that hard to believe.

Stable, quick, works great for the most part, unable to get XMP working

I bought this for my very first PC build with a Ryzen7 7700x, Red Dragon 6800XT, G Skill X5 32GB DDR5 memory. The setup was very straightforward, and I had to get the full manual from their website. The manual describes everything that I needed, including the location of the ports, and detailed descriptions on what to plug in to which port. The build worked great on first boot, current boot time is at around 16seconds for Windows 11. The only issue I am having is as soon as I enable XMP, it stops booting into Windows. I have tried several fixes and updates, but nothing seems to solve that.

    So far so good!

Running a Ryzen 7900X3D, 32gig 6000 mhz RAM in expo, and RTX4090 on this. I’m using PBO on advanced with a -10 all core offset, and have been perfectly stable. I primarily game on this system and everything I play has been super smooth, no system crashes, no hitching, etc… If my system suddenly explodes and I discover the mobo is the culprit, I’ll change this review and let everyone know to steer clear lol, but for now this seems like a solid, reasonably priced motherboard if you’re looking for an AMD platform.

Awesome B650 Motherboard w/ Premium Build

The Pro AX is the perfect balance between price, features, and build quality. If it didn’t say B650 on it, I would easily believe that its an X670. As a matter of fact I actually think its better built than GIGABYTE’s own base model X670 Elite AX. My ONLY gripe being the 8+4 pin CPU configuration, which is still WAY more than enough power. But cheaper, worse motherboards have an 8+8 config. But, if youre an extreme OC’er just get an X670.There seems to be absolutely NO hands on reviews of this motherboard anywhere on YT. Reviews for this board are scarce on here and on the egg. All I have to say is just buy this!!! Dont cheap out on the B650 Aorus Elite AX, ive seen way too many quality control issues with that one (mainly coil whine and a bad audio codec) Trust me, you’re better off spending the extra 30 dollars on the much better built Aorus Pro AX. The Pro AX is better than the MSI B650 Tomahawk, and better than ASRocks B650 PG whatever its called. We wont even mention ASUS for obvious reasons.Installation and setup was simple enough. I highly recommend you manually update the BIOS via USB, its really simple just watch a video. DO NOT use the GCC! I pretty much uninstalled GCC after I installed the WiFi/BT drivers the rest is bloatware. All of the latest mobo drivers can be found on GIGABYTES support page. GIGABYTE also has a newer chipset driver for the B650 on their site, the official AMD page has an older chipset driver.AMD EXPO works like a charm with G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32GB 6000mhz CL30 kit. PBO seems to be doing its job with the R5 7600 installed, all I did was change it to enabled. I will soon be upgrading to the 7800x3d. Which the latest BIOS now fully supports. Resizeable BAR was enabled by default with my RX 6800 XT. The R5 7600 has no problems with the 6800 XT btw. Its a great CPU/GPU combo if you just want to game 6c/12t are plenty enough for it. This motherboard will more than likely be enough to support 2 generations worth of CPU upgrades, that is if AMD sticks with the same strategy as they did with AM4.PS: IGNORE all the bent pin reviews. Theyre fake accounts made by one upset person. My motherboard was brand new sealed in the packaging with a cover over the socket.

    Great in everything minus latches

Overall, this motherboard has been working really well for me ever since I started it up. In the end, I consider it good, but I did have one issue with mine. I don’t know if I received a faulty one, or if this model has issues, but each latch I used had a problem. The two memory latches didn’t snap closed automatically like they usually do despite the parts being seated very well, though it didn’t effect much, and I closed them myself. However, a bigger problem was that I didn’t realize that the GPU latch wasn’t even attached until I got to that part, and I found it loose in the anti-static bag the motherboard came in. Since I’d already sank all the time and effort into placing every other part already, I placed the loose latch where it should be and pressed the GPU into position carefully. Thankfully the latch went back into the place it should be, and everything seems to be working just fine now. I have no clue if it will work to release the GPU if I ever want to change out the GPU, but that was the risk I took by being too impatient to return this and get another. I haven’t seen any other reviews mentioning bad latches, I might just be unlucky. As of right now, it’s all working out. If it causes issues down the line I’ll come back and update the review, but for now, I am okay with the motherboard despite the issue I had.

Nice when it boots and when the network works

I got one of the earlier versions of this board (1.0 or 1.1, not sure) and it has given me lots of problems that I’m spending too much of my time working around in my system with a 7950x3d CPU and 32 gigs of G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 6000 mhz expo memory. The memory is on their compatibility list, as is the CPU. Nvme drive is a Samsung 980 pro. When it boots or wakes from sleep properly it is fast and very stable with no problems while it remains on. The problem is that it has many startup problems and it’s always like playing a stupid game trying to get it to boot or work properly after sleep. I don’t want to spend 5 minutes trying to get my computer to boot every time.Problem 1: It makes a POST beep, shows the aorus screen (or AMI screen if I disable the splash screen in BIOS) and just sits at it for about 30 seconds. Windows doesn’t load and it gives no errors. Then it reboots by itself and does the same thing all over again. It does the POST loop for hours if I leave it for hours. This is especially extreme on BIOS version F8d that they released in September and the problem doesn’t occur too often with BIOS version F8a, but it has other problems. The only real solution is to shut off all power to the motherboard by unplugging the power supply or at the PSU switch before trying again. Then there is about a 40% chance it might boot afterwards. Repeat until it boots.Things I’ve tried that don’t work: turning off EXPO setting on memory, reseating CPU, reseating RAM or putting in the other two slots, reseating nvme, changing many different BIOS settings or resetting to defaults. The fact that one of the BIOS revisions works differently than the other makes me think it’s a BIOS or board design flaw rather than a major issue with any other hardware in the system.Problem 2: waking from sleep doesn’t properly restart components in a low power state. After a certain number of wakes it gets more and more unreliable. Sometimes it just has a black screen (maybe more common under F8a BIOS) and I have to hard power reset. Less drastic, some USB components may just no longer work after a wake up and I have to reboot again and hope it boots. Also, sometimes everything else works fine but the onboard networking no longer works and cannot be enabled until after a reboot. Sometimes putting it to sleep again and waking it again gets the networking working and sometimes it doesn’t.Related to these problems to I’ve had to resort to using hybernate instead of sleep mode since it’s more reliable for waking the machine, but it might have the first problem booting where it boot loops at the BIOS startup screen. But at least if it doesn’t boot correctly, it keeps my windows state when it finally starts up.The other thing to mention is that memory training takes a *full* two minutes before showing a POST screen or giving the beep when it decides to retrain. Supposedly this is a common experience for newer motherboards with DDR5 memory, though I’ve never had a system this slow to POST until now. It decides to redo memory training every few weeks on its own or more often if I have to pull the power plug from the wall.So the board works great and is rock solid as long as I never turn it off or let it go to sleep, but otherwise has lots of problems. I had hope that their BIOS updates would fix some of the issues, but F8d is worse than their earlier f8a revision and there haven’t been updates in months and I see they released Rev 1.2 of the board since then. I wonder why the new revision?I suspect the earlier revisions of this board have some uncorrectable issues at least with certain hardware that is supposed to be supported. It doesn’t outright fail every single time, but it seems gigabyte has some QA and design issues. I would stay away from this motherboard, at least for the hardware configuration I’m using it with. This is not a great board if you want reliability starting your computer. I had hope that BIOS updates would fix the issues but I it’s getting clearer that they probably can’t or won’t release updates to fix the issues on this version of the board.PS. I’ve also tried the system with two different videos cards and neither made any difference to the boot/sleep reliability problems.

    Got it at least

Was trying to get a new board and the first was broken. The replacement I ordered was used and not what I had wanted to get. I don’t see any damage on the replacement tho it makes me uneasy thinking of what damage I may not be able to detect until the build is complete if there is any.

Beware, older hardware may have incompatibility issues out of the box and have

Had a plethora of issues with this motherboard. Bought with a 7800x3d and Gskill 6000mhz ram (F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5NR). My motherboard was revision 1.0 and shipped with the F3 bios (old bios).TL;DR: Beware if you are using an older GPU or any older hardware in general, seems to severely lack compatibility support in multiple areas. I’d recommend going for a different and/or newer mobo if you are planning on using x3d CPUs or newer. And if you get an old revision/old bios consider flashing the bios with the Qflash (I think that was what it was called) process before setting up everything.——————————————————————————————————————First of all, the motherboard shipped packaged in NOTHING except the motherboard box, with the anti static wrapped mobo inside. Could have VERY easily been damaged during shipping, or subjected to the elements, or even stolen for that matter. Also, it did not even come with a manual. I know this is the internet/digital age, but when building PCs, or stripping down your old rig to use on the new, it can be a huge hassle not having that ready at hand, most of all when you have to flash BIOS and/or troubleshoot. Hardly came with anything else either, literally one sata cable and an extra m.2 screw…The motherboard would not read my older USB flash drives, even though it could recognize them plugged in. Could not flash BIOS or install windows from them. USB 2 or 3, all formatted FAT 32. Later on, I bought a new set and they worked to flash BIOS without issue. My old USB drives worked fine anywhere else. Not sure exactly what the problem was. After Windows was installed, I no longer was seeing a BIOS screen, it would boot right to the logon screen or windows. After searching, I found out that specifically using the HDMI port on the mobo (not on GPU) was allowing people to get into bios before loading windows, which (mostly) worked for me. Even later on, I figured it was at least partially an issue due to me using an older GPU (1080ti) which wasn’t allowing bios to show up before windows loaded due to being an older PCI express gen (IIRC). Even after a BIOS flash, this issue persisted. Just recently picked up a RTX 4070 and I see the bios screen now. Some more minor kinks here and there, didn’t even see an option for a delay timer for the bios screen before windows boots, something my previous gigabyte aorus had.Overall, I would not buy again. Huge headache and spent a good deal of time getting this in working order. I’d suggest looking at other options, probably newer boards if you are getting an x3d or newer CPU. Spare yourself the stress.

    Expo not XMP

I purchased this based on ratings and simplicity mixed with performance. What I am seeing alot of is individuals trying to use xmp. Nonono get ram with an EXPO profile, AMD much prefers it. As far as ram specs cl 30 6000 is plenty.

A very good motherboard with only one issue

Sadly, this lost 1 star and it may not even be the motherboard’s fault. However, I cannot get the system to run the xmp profile with my 6400mhz ram. It runs completely stable with xmp disabled at 3600mhz.This is the one and only problem I have had with this system. I did update the bios, but that did not alleviate the problem. Now, for me, this is not a dealbreaker. I use the system primarily for business. So running at the slower memory speed has almost 0 impact. As a professional though, this will cost 1 star.

Ten Months Later, still got a rev 1.0, but everything seems to work

Was really hoping to avoid a rev1.0 of this board due to complications with the AMD WiFi (aka MediaTek RZ616), but it seems Amazon bought the entire first batch of boards from Gigabyte (which explains why they pushed this brand so heavily). That said, it appears to be stable from day 1 with no issues. Not a gamer, so can’t speak to that but:- the XMP profile on the Corsair DDR 5600 CL40 works fine- my old Vega 56 works- Crucial P5 Plus and Samsung 980 Pro NVME works- Windows 11 seemed to pick up the everything during install (but not bluetooth… install WiFi/BT drivers from Gigabyte site)- installed chipset drivers from AMD, not Gigabyte- Came with BIOS F5 I think, immediately updated to F7a, now on F8a. No issues- boot times seem fine to me- I don’t use RGB, but this board has some headers. Haven’t tried using it- Archlinux (Manjaro) installed (linux61) and everything works out of the box. I assume any distro using a newer kernel would be the same.- I read some people had issues in linux with the 4 USB 2 ports on the rear I/O… I haven’t tried using one yet, but USB-C works. Front USB-C, USB3 work fine.- Audio works (ALC1220) fineThe only issue I really have with this board is sensor support in linux. There is none. Like, zero. Some other brands might have better support for sensors, but it’s still a work in progress. Check the hwmon project. All in all, good board and decent price.

Good but difficult to set up and missing parts

Had some difficulty getting the PC built with this board to output video via the GPU using Display-port. I spent hours reinstalling drivers and swapping in other GPU’s only to try using an HDMI cable, and it posted immediately. After posting with the HDMI cable, I didn’t have to do anything other than reboot and the Display-port started working. Also, my board did not have any of the PCIE drive screws/EC-latches in the box ,or preinstalled on the board. I had to just use the sticky back side of the heat-sinks to hold the drives in place.

    Very Solid Motherboard!

My previous build was a z490 Gigabyte board and I loved it. So I decided to go with this board as I just built a new system with a ryzen 7 7700.And I have to tell you… this thing is HEAVY! You can tell it was made with good quality parts. It has so many features and everything worked right out of the box. I would highly recommend getting it!Lastly, you have to be slightly careful which RAM you get as sometime the higher mhz RAM won’t boot. For a safe bet, I went with 5600mhz CL32 RAM. It’s plenty fast and the system booted up with no issues.

    Good gaming board

Good overall gaming motherboard. The BIOS layout/menu is a bit annoying and confusing at times, but once you figure it out it’s easy to make it do what you want. It has plenty of features, easy to flash the BIOS with a bootable flash drive, good built-in wifi with an antenna, and sensible port layout. I especially love that it comes with a wire harness for connecting the case leads to the motherboard relatively painlessly (power, LED, HDD LED, reset button, etc.).

Extremely Disappointed – Failed after Only 10 Days!

I recently purchased the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. After just 10 days of use, this motherboard completely stopped working, leaving me frustrated and disappointed.I had paired this motherboard with my powerful Ryzen 9 7900x3d processor, expecting top-notch performance and reliability. However, out of nowhere, the my pc suddenly refused to boot, leaving me without a functioning system. After further investigation I found the motherboard was at fault. This unexpected failure has caused a significant inconvenience and disrupted my work and daily activities.I am deeply disappointed with the reliability of this product. A motherboard is a crucial component in any computer system, and it is expected to provide stability and longevity. Unfortunately, the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX fell short in both regards.Furthermore, the timing of this failure is particularly disheartening. Just 10 days after purchase, it is unacceptable for this product to fail so abruptly. I expected better quality control from a brand like GIGABYTE.I strongly advise potential buyers to consider other options before investing in the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard. The lack of reliabilit, has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

Amazing Motherboard with a small ram issue.

I bought this motherboard to use it with my 7800x3d. I was concerned if I needed to do a bios update for it to work but turns out the manufacturer already updated it for us. The only issue I faced was I was unable to use my G-Skill Triden Z5 32gb DDR5 Ram 6400mhz. Turns out the motherboard does not support 32gb at 6400mhz.The fix was pretty simple. All I had to do was manually overclock the ram to 6000mhz with timings set to 30-40-40-96 and at 1.4v. So far I’ve had zero issues and all my games run at blazing high fps. Overall I’d suggest getting 32GB Ram at 6000 mhz unless you wanna manually Overclock like me which is fine too.

Was excited till I did more research about the bios

Everyone who either bought am5 or is looking at am5 knows that their is an issue with memory voltage. Everyone is focused on asus as the only manufacturer this time around to stay away from when gigabyte also still holds the same issues. I didn’t realize this. There was physically nothing wrong with the product I received I didn’t even open the box. I just failed to do research fully before ordering. I just didn’t want to wait for a bios to be implemented when msi already has one so there is no worry about melting boards and cpus.

    Great stable mobo

Easy enough to setup. Of note, you don’t need to hook up the 4 pin ATX power, as there is enough to power the board from the other connections. I combined this with an AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Nvidia 3070ti, and 32 gb of Corsair vengeance cl30 xmp ram. (This board supports both expo and xmp) XMP was the better deal at the time. I was upgrading from an older i7 4930k 6c/12t cpu Asus combo. This blows that out of the water.I don’t care about RGB, but this board has pinouts for extra rgb lights and there’s one under one of the heatsinks too. My case is about 10 years old, and the side only has a vent for a fan and it sits under my desk. I wouldn’t be able to see the pretty lights anyways. There are also pinouts for water cooling.

Good board pain in the rear to get set up

So I just built my pc and starting off it was a bit rough. The bios that was on the board originally was the first addition F1 and had to be updated to the latest bios of Fb3. not a huge deal but was a bit of a pain, but it was only the start of the problems. First the video was not coming out of the graphics card and had to set up through the mother board first. Not that big of a deal but just a bit of a pain. Next and the biggest problem that I have with this board was that the wifi didn’t work right out the box. So all the drivers that you needed to download has to be done by plugging in the ethernet cable. I downloaded windows 10 and even putting the drivers for the wifi on a thumb drive did not fix this issue. So you have to plug in with ethernet cable and update windows from there worked for me and then downloading Nvidia’s drivers fixed the GPU problem. Now all that being said the board works great and I like that the wifi antenna included is magnetic so that it can stick to the side of your case unlike most of the antennas included in some of my friends antennas. So with all these problems and with how this board performs is why the 3 stars. Good board pain in the rear to get set up.

    Stable. Zero problems. Boots quickly

I wanted to leave a review for this specific AORUS board (b650 PRO AX) since there aren’t many atm. It’s completely stable. Zero problems so far. Cold boots to windows 11 in 25s with 64GB XMP (power button to login screen). 7950X, MSI Suprim X 4090, G.Skill Trident Z 2x32gb (F5-6000J3040G32GA2-TZ5RK)Why I picked this board:I started with Gigabyte and ASUS as possible brands due to familiarity. Eliminated ASUS due to them having slower boot times (from a Hardware Unboxed b650 board comparison video- Gigabyte is the best of them all). Briefly considered Gigabyte’s X670E boards but they are all EATX- I like my ATX case so that’s not happening. All of their B650 and X670 boards are similar-enough in I/O for me. The main thing it came down to was the location of the extra PCI-E 4×4 slot. If I use any other cards it will most likely need to be in this slot. Half of the boards put it right up next to the GPU whereas on the PRO AX and AERO G it is at the very bottom of the board (more breathing room for the GPU fans). Between those two boards, I liked how the PRO AX looked more, so there it was.The only minor hiccup I ran into was that it would not initially post with the G.Skill XMP profile enabled. Updating the motherboard firmware to the latest version fixed that. After ordering, I found reports that the Intel i225-v ethernet chip used on this board has a long-standing reputation for having problems at 2.5Gb. But, so far I’ve had no problems with mine at 2.5Gb on my Dell N1124 in one of its 10G ports. Fingers crossed. If I knew this before ordering it might have steered me more towards the B650 ELITE AX or X670 ELIETE AX which use a Realtek chip.

    B650 Aorus Elite AX

I had an extremely hard time building my first PC. Since prices were right, I decided to take the journey, and build a 7800x3d / 4090 build. Easily, the hardest part was finding components, as there are way too many, and one website can say it’s the best part out there, while another can trash it. So, here I was, purchasing this do-it-all motherboard, and worried about the negative things I have heard while putting it together, and I can honestly say, I’ve experienced none of it so far. Bought the mobo two weeks ago, and I’ve had it going strong for a few days. If anything changes, I’ll update accordingly, but the board works solid. No issues, whatsoever. Even the Wi-Fi, in which I’m upstairs on the opposite end of my router (it’s no simple router though), and it blows past the Wi-Fi 6e my laptop had. The Bios setup was super easy, and even though the mobo claimed it couldn’t recognize the Ryzen 7800x3d, because it was on update F2 (for reference, the mobo I received was a 1.0 reversion), it somehow started to work, and I was able to install Windows 11 and update the Bios no problem.

Great Motherboard. Very happy with it.

This has been a great motherboard. I only had one issue with it. I tried updating the BIOS from the update utility in the BIOS but that got me a black screen indefinitely. So that didnt work for me. After that didnt work, I updated the BIOS to the latest version with Q-Flash Plus. Updating your BIOS is very important if you want your DDR5 to work correctly, and for system stability. AM5 has had a ton of issues with DDR5 but it seems to be figured out with the new BIOS versions. Q-Flash Plus makes it very easy to do. So if you dont want any issues, this is how to get the best experience, but I’m not responsible for a damage, I suggest researching a bit first. but this is what i did. First I made sure I had a flash drive that is FAT32 formatted, and downloaded the BIOS file. Once you open the file, Currently (3/12/23) it will be called B650AORUSELITEAX.F4b move that file to your FAT32 formatted flash drive and change the name to GIGABYTE.bin. As long as your motherboard is connected to your power supply and the on switch is flipped, plug the flash drive into the designated BIOS usb port and press the Q-Flash button. Took a couple minutes but it worked just fine.I definitely recommend this motherboard. I ended up changing to the same Gigabyte X670 and used this B650 for another reason. I didnt do it for any reason in particular other than because I needed to build a 2nd PC with a 7700x, so i figured I’d get the x670 for my main rig since I have a 7900x. but this b650 can handle even the 7950x. so dont think on it too much. Especially if you’re trying to save a couple bucks.
