Addicted
LOVE this phone! Addicted to it. It feels great, the screens are fabulous and works perfectly. I am comparing this to much lower-quality phones by the way. The only misleading thing is the color. In no way is it magenta but instead just a red color. The phone is easy to use and set up is you are already in the Android family. I have zero problems with using this phone on the “bring your own phone” network and the old SIM card worked just fine.

Best phone i have ever had. My only complaint is that i cant change audio source without audio playing. And if the audio is something like youtube, it will pause the audio so the option to change source goes away. (My moto z4 did not do this)

Does absolutely everything needed
This phone is perfect in every way. I have been a dedicated Apple user for at least 30 years never wanting to switch. I decided to try a flip phone and chose the Motorola Razr over the Samsung because I wanted stock Android. After connecting this to my iPhone everything came out perfectly, just the way I had it. The picture and sound quality are perfect. I had an issue with the first one I had, so I returned it. After more serious thinking about this, I decided to order another one hoping the proximity sensor would work. This new phone works well beyond my expectations. Motorola really hit this one out of the park. I don’t miss my iPhone anymore. Thank you Amazon and Motorola for the best ever phone.

Quality and Price
My hubby bought this flip as a gift for me. When the first flip came out a thousand years ago, I loved it. Finally I got this phone. First, there is no bent or demarcation on the screen. Second, very easy to set up. Third, love this magenta color. Fourth, it’s truly worth every dollar. Try it, bet you will fall in love with it.

Looks great
As I said it looks great BUT. I bought this in October using 5 payments through Amazon. This happened 2 days before the final payment. I ignored a lot of the negative reviews because I felt I do not use my camera for everything and use it more to monitor my Dexcom G7. When this happened it was out of the blue and because of the location on the screen It made the main screen useless. Motorola has a full year warranty but this doesn’t cover the screen . If you want to cover the screen you must purchase that within 30 days @ around $300, but this coverage has copays as high as $350. That’s like buying 2 phones! Motorola is Chinese and their support shows it.

Switch from Galaxy flip 5
had a galaxy flip 5 and my wife had this phone but in black, her phone had way more features on the front screen then my flip 5, its more usable and thats why i wanted a flip phone with a big front screen other wise i could just use my watch or my big Fold 3 phone.Returned my flip 5 and grabbed this one, the color is amazin and the screen looks better too.no regrets on this purchase so far

Best Flip Phone
This is the best flip phone on the market. The front screen is amazing. I can read/respond to my test messages, emails, and Google chats message without opening my phone. I can also make and answer calls without opening my phone. As such battery life is AMAZING and this phone will easily last 2.5 to 3 days without needing a charge if you just use the front screen.Build quality is great and the phone does not overheat, nor is it fragile (all phone overheats if you push them beyond normal use for an extended period of time). As for the cameras, WHO CARES. All smartphone cameras in 2023 are good enough AND none of them are better than a real camera. I use my Surface Duo as my tablet, so I also don’t care about this phones aspect ratio when it comes to watching YouTube, etc.Does the phone’s hinge hold its position beyond around a 100 degree angle…NO. Again WHO CARES? There is no use case to have a flip phone hold up beyond a 90 degree angle. Finally, I was able to get this phone on sale for $630 and don’t not have any regrets. Best smartphone I have ever owned.

Best phone
This is the best phone I’ve owned I had an iPhone from the OG till the x and then switched and have had android ever since. The original razr that I had circa 2019 android was amazing BUT the screen was too all now that’s made up for and I can run all my apps on the outside display. It’s incredible, groundbreaking and my pictures are almost as good of quality as my pixel 7 pro. Would recommend 100%.

It’s so fun

Wow. I’ve been quietly watching the development of smart flip phones from the sidelines since 2020, and I’m glad I waited to buy one. I was wanting a z flip but then saw this, loved the color and design and went straight to researching it before switching from my iPhone 12 Pro.The outside display is fantastic for taking selfies since you can see a preview on it, and the folding mechanism has proven pretty useful as its own camera stand, and even has function when needing to set a flashlight down. I’ve seen some complain about the camera quality, but I’ve personally found the cameras to be more than serviceable and have taken a few pretty good photos. Just keep in mind that there are some limitations, the biggest one I’ve noticed is with taking photos with much motion. If you have a baby, one cool feature is that the outside display will make a moving little cartoon face to get them to look at the camera. You can open almost any app on it too.I’ve been having a blast customizing the inner and outer display on this phone (the outside display is very customizable, but sadly you can’t use a custom gif cause only the preset moving images can be used as there are no widgets and launcher). As with any android, you can do a lot more than with iPhone. I probably won’t keep a gif as my wallpaper on the inner screen for too long due to how much more it drains the battery, but man am I happy that I can do it.Basically my only gripe with this phone is that I wish the battery was a bit better. It definitely will get me through the day, especially if I become more used to using the outer display.

Had this phone 2 days the inner screen cracked across the fold…its a straight line crack…motorola nor att would fix it..said its my fault…I told them If I had dropped it it would have a spider web like crack…so I stuck with a 1000.00 phone that I can’t use…motorola said the would fix it for 642.00…

A solid phone
I’ve used many phones over the years, and recently made a point to avoid Samsung phones; Too many people won’t consider any other brand of Android phone, despite many deserving entries. The Razr Plus 2023 flip phone is definitely one of those deserving entries.One of my concerns migrating away from the Motorola Moto Z3 was battery life. The Moto Z3 allowed for a battery pack mod to magnetically attach to the phone to extend the battery life, which I thought was hard for a phone going on its own battery alone to compete with. The Razr Plus 2023 actually does very well for battery life, lasting almost as long as the Z3 did away from my wireless charger (2-3 days). Of course, whether this will hold up with age remains to be seen. Of note, I am not the type that constantly plays games or video on my phone, but I do stream Spotify to my car radio. I took the phone off the charger at 100% and did a quick errand once to a 7-Eleven for something. It was about a 10-minute trip where I was streaming audio off the phone and using Google Pay in the store. When I returned home, the battery was still showing 100%, which was rather impressive.It helps that this is a beautiful-looking phone. Motorola calls it Magenta, but it looks more red to me, which is more to my preference, anyway. It’s a nice color. Both displays are nice and readable. I was concerned the fold would be very distracting when the phone is open, but it’s barely noticeable. The small screen while the phone is closed works well enough to do quick texts and status checks, but for me, it’s not a substitute for opening the phone. It’s still very useful, however. Google Pay and Wireless Charging still works when the phone is closed, and will be primarily how you’ll be using those things. The phone effortlessly pairs with car radios for Wireless Android Auto, which was important for me since my car radio is nearly useless without it.This phone would be an easy recommend for me to anybody who wants a modern take on the flip phone without the innate pricey-ness of a Samsung phone. It’s not just a gimmick; it can change the way you interact with your phone.

Handy and Stylish
When I first saw this new phone, I thought it was a gimmick. However, after purchasing it and using it for 6 months now, it is a very handy phone. I love how compact it is to stay in my pocket, especially since I have female jean pockets! I also enjoy how fast the processor is. Every year, I feel like I use my phone for more and more. Now, this device can produce quick products at a efficient rate! I love it!Also you barely notice the line in the middle of the screen from when it folds. It’s pretty seamless unless the screen is off! I recommend this phone to anyone who doesn’t mind the price or having to open their phone when they wish to use it!

Exceptional tool for coping with cognitive disabilities
This may be an odd thing to assert for a phone, but the Razr+ 2023 has been surprisingly good at helping me in a long term recovery from a brain injury. It’s familiar and solid — the controls are great, the software seems peppy, the displays are both *really* nice — but it’s also different enough thanks to the flip-fold and external display that I can build new associations to new workflows and have an easier time of it.Further, I replaced my Pixel 7 Pro with this, and I won’t ever look back. The Pixel 7 Pro had a lot of weird issues I don’t expect in a modern phone. The Razr+ had none of those issues — peripherals work on plugin without troubleshooting, biometrics aren’t unstable — it just works.Also, it’s pretty and fun to fiddle and play with, which forces me to engage with it and again — helps with the therapy.The flex-stand stuff — folding it in tent-shape or like a tetris block so it sits on your desk as a player — works *remarkably* well. There seems to be little wear on the hinge so far. Bluetooth just works out of the thing.I did get a case on it as soon as I could — Jerry Rig Everything discovered the non-display half of the phone’s glass back has little protection behind it so it can crack easily, even if the phone’s displays are solid — and that’s worked perfectly well.It does charge pretty slowly (amusingly, plugging in a DAC/headphone jack adaptor convinced the phone to rapid-charge when plugging into the mains didn’t), but it’s reliable in that charging. Wireless charging is 5W and acceptable for that level. The battery’ll easily give you 24 hours and really doesn’t drain fast under load, but a lot of modern phones will give you 48 hours in the same conditions. It’s not a major issue, however.All in all, I love this thing. It’s good for my brain.

WARNING ⚠ DON’T GET
I saved up to get this phone. I bought it and turns out to be defective. It odd that Google assistant can’t installed on this… Amazon has been ugly to me about returning this. I need a phone and i don’t have extra money to get another one.. Not exactly cheap!!!!! I am on edge of not using Amazon bc they barely speak English and are not that nice… FYI that was me putting it nicely. It sure is strange that all my accounts just about have been hacked since this phone

Almost perfect the fold phone.
I really wanted a foldable phone, was split between the Samsung Z Flip 5 and Motorola Razr +/ 40 Ultra.Pros.1. The crease is minimum compared to Samsungs Folds, this is what sold it to me. Visually more appealling and physical contact.2. Foldable3. Full front clamp shell screen, easy access to other apps.4. Camera stays in focus, upright no matter how you turn the phone. Major issues with my Samsungs when taking pics in general, but especially for work, when titled slightly its, upside down.5. Edges are rounded, not square, easy to open one handed.6. No bloatware, good and bad.7. Selfy camera is better than Samsung, it doesn’t make my face look big and bald headed. I am not, and many phones stretched my head out that makes me look weird. Razr’s camera doesn’t do it as I’m looking at an actual mirrior.Cons. Unfortunately.1. The Cameras is slight less better than Samsungs in color and quality, but just slightly. Can be a turn off for some, but I find the Camera better in other areas.2. Wireless charging is slow…3. Call quality not as good as my Samsung, but negligible.4. Limited case protectors available.5. No water proofing, water resistance at IP52. But better dust proof than Samsung Fold 5.6. Youtube streamers stress tested the Razr’s hinges, issues occured between the 50K to 110K mark, as Samsung was going strong after 116K hand done flips.7. Andriod sync is out of whack from my previous Samsung phones. Some data didn’t sync over because of the different brands.8. Motorola UI needs to get some used to, ring tones, themes, color, contrasts, icons, and UI customization are very limited.9. USB C charge port, you have to make sure it in full contact…

can’t turn off camera shutter sound
Phone is great. Just wanted to write this so others know that u don’t have the option to turn off the camera shutter sound. Phones made in Korea/Japan do not have option to turn off the shutter sound due to laws in place. Seeing as this was an unlocked phone I’m surprised I don’t have the option to turn it off since I like taking pictures of nature it scares wildlife. :(. Otherwise great phone.

Good phone, but I miss the 2020 razr
Honestly, it’s fine, but after using the 2020 razr for a few years, when it still had the retro chin, I’ve realized just how awful the ergonomics on modern phones are. This isn’t even a dig at Motorola in particular, because I feel like this across the board: the retro throwback razr was a breath of fresh air, while this is just another flip phone identical to the rest.I do have one other nitpick, they gave us the ability to hold the hinge at half-open as a feature, but it just makes the phone harder to open one-handed because it gets stuck at that half-open position. Maybe that will loosen up with time, I dunno.

Incredible Device, and a Phone Too?
After owning a Flip 4, I purchased a Samsung Flip 5 and it was a major disappointment to say the least. I replaced it with this Motorola RAZR + and it is the best phone I’ve ever bought. Works great, seamless with all other devices, doesn’t drive me insane with updates, does more than they claimed it did, thinner, lighter, doesn’t need a case, and the red is just plain fun. I actually enjoy my phone again, thank you Motorola.

better watch out,
better watch out, I got this in Oct. and yesterday I wanted to change my provider and found out the IMEI was black listed as stolen, I ordered an UNLOCKED Razr plus from Motorola. I talked to Motorola and the provider and both said they don’y block phones. Funny that Motorols sold it so they must have gotten it from someone. Moto won’t do anything but Amazon is taking it back, now I have no phone and have to wait for the next one I buy. I have had Motorla all my Cell life with no trouble, now don’t know which to get.

The hottest phone on the market!
I had this phone in loose fitting shorts as I walked around for a little bit. I pulled it out to use it and it was extremely hot. The CPU monitor app said 50⁰C(122⁰F). I had to open it up for it to cool off. Same thing happened when trying to customize the cover screen. Also happened when streaming music from Spotify for 30 minutes.People are saying the it gets hot because the phone is thin and the heat has to go somewhere but I had the z flip 4 and it never got this hot. I think 42⁰C was the hottest mine ever got.The magenta color is gorgeous. The cameras are average at best. The cover screen is excellent.Maybe mine is just defective. Good luck to those that try this phone. Hopefully yours doesn’t get hot.

Fragile
For a phone coming in at $900 I expect it to be a little more robust. It worked okay although the front screen is more gimicky than anything. The real problem is the fragility. I noticed after a month that the glass was showing light scratching just from going into my pocket and out. At around a month and a half I dropped it ON THE CARPET and the front display became spiderwebbed with cracks. I went to Motorola’s website and learned this not covered under warranty and the repair would cost $600! So, I decided to go back to the Samsung Galaxy Z flip. This RAZR phone is using substandard glass — stay away.

Fold phone
Screen protector cracked at inner Fold area. ( Mfr defect) Motorola informed that phone is under warranty. Free shipping return label However $75.00 cost to customer to replace screen protector. Motorola said Warranty does not cover screen protector…. How can a manufacture warranty not cover due to manufacture defect?? That’s just bad business! Buyer beware !!

Overheating
I received the Motorola Razr as a gift for my mother at a great price of $699. Upon activation the phone was overheating and extremely hot to the touch. I am returning this and having to purchase a new one, as Amazon does not allow for exchange. It will take up to 30 days after the return in received to get a full refund. In the meantime I’m out of $699 twice, not a great experience.

Faulty Phone

Most apps run without opening your phone.
I’m upgrading from the 2020 razr. This 2023 version looks amazing. I hate I have to put a case on it and cover its beauty. Lol. This 1 takes more to open and close but that’s because of the half fold feature. The call speaker seems to be louder. With it turned up, it’s almost like it’s on speaker phone. I’ll update the review as time goes on that I have it.

Quality Compact Design

Statistically unlikely
The phone worked really well for about 5 months. Out of the box, the hinge was a little weak, but that was my only issue at the time.About 2 or 3 months in I noticed that the smart charging feature stopped fully charging my phone overnight, leaving me with the same issue I tried to solve by upgrading from my previous phone in the first place – that being poor battery life. I am not a power user. I listen to podcasts and use the calculator throughout the day as I do my work and need a phone that won’t die after 8 or 9 hours of continuous use. With the smart charging feature “working as intended” the battery would barely scrape through 7 1/2hrs.2 months after this issue developed the screen develops a black spot where the phone folds and within a day of that development, the entire upper half above the fold becomes unresponsive while the middle of the screen has a thick row of black pixels along the fold.Luckily, or so I considered, it was still in warranty, so I sent it in to get fixed or replaced. I received the replacement today and immediately I noticed the hinge is stronger but this phone turns itself off at random and acts as though it has no charge… These are 2 different devices, both brand new out of the box, both defective either immediately or degrading pretty rapidly.It’s a pretty paper weight but you should go buy something else.

Great phone
I have bought this and the Flip 5. So far the battery life on the razr has significantly defeated the flip 5. I miss the routines that samsung offers but in general the razr has become my daily driver. Get the magenta! you can use it safely with no case due to the grip it provides and its a major head turner :).Software is good, phone is snappy and the external screen is a game changer (helps limit your usage to the important things), not as bright as the flip 5 but scrolls way more smoothly due to the higher refresh rate. Runs pretty much all apps you throw at it with minor ratio issues.Draw back on this version is that unlike the china variant it does not come with a case, charger, tent mode or the open and close flip sound, total bummer there. Overall worth the purchase especially if you can get it on a sale.P.S. My phone prior these flips was a Samsung Ultra 23, while the cameras are not on par everything else is pretty much the same. I was worried i would notice the major downgrade but i much prefer the portability of these flip phones.

Excellent concept and device
The size of the phone is perfect. The folding mechanism works well. Apps load quickly. You really don’t notice the fold unless you feel for it with a finger.Why did I return it? I and all of my family and most of my friends use apple devices. It was just too much work and maybe impossible to set up this phone to fit seamlessly with them. Also I use the apple apps for work documents and so forth. I was not crazy about the software options to use with this phone. Finally I would have had to buy an android tablet to replace my iPad. And worst of all, android watch options don’t quite measure up to the Apple Watch in features and performance.My experiment didn’t quite work out.
