    Wow!!!

I love my new Arc. A great value for the price, albeit not cheap by any means. I’m using it with 2 Sonos One SLs surrounds. Sound is fantastic, especially when the source is Dolby Atmos (Dolby Digital + with only HDMI Arc on my LG7300). I watched Hamilton again on Disney+ and was blown away. Even compared to the Sonos Playbase, which is outstanding, the Arc has better sound reproduction. All in all, I would recommend the Arc to anyone who wants a premium sound experience for under $800. Oh, be sure your HDMI ports are set for Bitstream for Dolby Digital 5.1 passthrough, if you have that capability on your TV; otherwise PCM will only provide Stereo 2.0.

    DO NOT BUY THIS SOUNDBAR!!!!!!

Mine worked for about two months and is now dead, will not connect to the eARC HDMI port now, also tried the optical port hookup and that does not work either. Tried a SOFT reset and three HARD resets and nothing helps. Reinstalled the old Sony sound bar and it works perfectly on eARC and Optical outputs. Tried to get Sonos support and no help from them at all. Guess I got ripped off and will never use Sonos products again!

    Great soundbar

Expensive but worth the investment. Installed this soundbar combined with a Sonus sub in a large living area (living room plus kitchen). Easy setup up, and it performs better than my built in speakers. When combined with the sub it produces a deep rich sound, and has no issues filling the room. Very happy with this purchase so far.

    Excellent Soundbar

This soundbar delivers amazing sound quality and has completely changed my tv viewing experience. It blows the sound quality of my TV’s built in speakers away. Highly recommend it even at its high price.

    Came defective

I was happy for a couple of days I really enjoy it even though the atmost is not all that with the sound bar alone. That said, I was testing the sound on the atmost test app and the right side speaker sounded muffled. Turns out that there is no sound coming out from that speaker, I can hear left, center so clear but when it test the right I can tell is not the right speaker sound but the top-right or right-sided speaker instead. I bough this used but it was only $70 off from 899.00 Amazon tag and I thought it was that price cause of item has been used/open box. The 830.00 plus $80. tax is premium money that deserves product to be in optimal condition. So disappointed with this product now.

First Sonos product and love it!

I first got the Sonos Beam as a house warming gift and it was a great speaker for our home. I researched more about Sonos product and found out that the new Arc was coming out soon. Long story short I returned the beam and invested in the Arc and it was a game changer. I love bass when listening to music & watching movies and the Arc was superb in that field. For movies you can hear everything clearly and it created the home theater vibe. Overall love the product, sounds, and design. Debating if I should pull the trigger on the subs lol

    Excellent!

I did my research and saw some videos, and decided on getting this Sonos Arc soundbar. It was an excellent choice, as I totally love the sound of anything I play through it. Makes it seem like a movie theater at home, in my mancave. I definitely recommend it. I plan on getting the subwoofer and eventually some rear surround speakers too, for the complete setup.

Nice but could do with an update to ensure better connectivity with HDMI ports

Nice compliment to existing Sonos Ones. However Sonos could do a better job enabling it to connect more seamlessly to TV’s. Even thought I connected to the HDMI Arc port, the setup wizard kept detecting that there was interference from devices connected on the other HDMI ports. I ended up using the Optical Cable > HDMI adapter. So not getting any Dolby Atmos. Apparently it works best with HDMI eARC port. Sonos ought to realize not everyone is going to go buy a new Tv with that port.So disappointed the Dolby Atmos capability is limited, but happy with the connectivity to existing Ones.

Great product, Amazon’s customer service is terrible

Ordered a black sound bar. It worked great the first night. The next morning, with no changes, the power didn’t work. Initially Amazon customer service was very helpful. They agreed to replace the product, and I’d receive it in two days. It took three days, not two, but there’s snow outside so no real concern there. When the new product came, it was white. Not black. White is much different next to a black TV. Tried to replace the product again and was told that’s against Amazon policy. Now need to return the item that was the wrong color, wait for the refund, and start from scratch. How is that customer service?

Great alternative to full surround setup

The sound is amazing. After going through the tuning (which is super easy), the sound seems to come from the entire wall on which our sound bar and TV are installed (and we have a 20ft ceiling). Also purchased the subwoofer, which was very easy to pair. Previously we were considering the full mounted surround setup, but this is so great and much easier, we are sticking with this. I am a huge Sonos fan now.

    Gorgeous

Wow. The sound on this is AMAZing. We had the Beam for a few days but it was buggy with our setup for some reason. Caused delays and then fast forwarding of audio and video before it caught up. Returned it and put a sound bar on the back burner for half a year or more. Saw this bad boy was coming out and took a chance on it and am SO much more impressed than the Beam. I’m glad I waited because HDMI is important to me, I didn’t want to setting for Optical with the Playbar. The box is heavy, about 24 pounds and almost 45 inches, so if you have stairs keep that in mind. Setup was a breeze, as with our Sonos Ones, now our whole home has audio that syncs beautifully, and the new app works like a dream. Bass is gorgeous. Center channel makes voice clarity so much, well, clearer. Music sounds gorgeous.

Great sound, big miss on input for $800 sound bar.

Great sound! As expected from sonos. Do not miss my subwoofer. Just arc alone is enough.Bad points.. sonos went cheap and did not have dedicated hdmi input, you need to use arc or earc through your tv…which is very disappointing for a $800 sound bar. People have good older tvs that do have earc. Many tv don’t communicate well throu arc for sound. Sonos relying on tv arc is a fail as the variation of sound that passes through is based on the tv communicating with sound bar. Sonos should have added atleast 1 dedicated hdmi input…this allows them to control the sound input/value. So great sound, but big miss on input.

    Amazing sound !

Well worth the almost 30 day wait. The sound is amazing, and it looks good and discreet so the wife doesn’t complain about it. I added the sub and two Sonos ones in the rear. Movies now have a new dimension, even ones not in “Atmos”. Just watched Back to the Future on Netflix from 1985, and I’ve just heard things I haven’t heard before after watching this movie what seems like a million times. As far as the price, when you consider what it would cost for a different sound system that sounds equal or better, the pricing is cheap and on point. In the age of COVID, this makes staying at home more enjoyable. Also, speech in all shows is now crystal clear. My grandmother can now watch! Buy one, if you can get it!

    Not brand new.

The arc I received was linked to a prior owner’s account even though it was marketed as “brand new”. Amazon customer service was responsive and gave me a 10% refund to compensate, not very generous but sufficient to prevent me from returning the item. The deceiving experience still left a bad taste in my mouth. As for the product, it sounds as expected (very good), however the build quality isn’t quite up to par. Some of the plastic on the bottom occasionally delaminates at a seam. I can press it back together which solves the problem temporarily. Super glue seems like it would solve the problem long term but I’m too scared it’ll leave residue I can’t get off.

Awesome sound on this sound bar. Easy to set up too. I got a cheap sound bar before and couldn’t really tell the difference between it and the tv sound. This one I definitely notice a difference

Works great with the Sonos One speakers for surround sound!

For years I’ve been wanting to have a home theater system. I’ve been listening to movies through my TV audio for far too long. I did HOURS upon HOURS of research before finally deciding on Sonos mainly due to the high ratings and the fact that the Sonos Arc was tested and listened to by academy award winning sound engineer, Chris Jenkins, who listened to the Sonos Arc himself and was very happy with the results. Now, before I continue I should add that your TV needs to be fairly new in order to work with Sonos Arc. I myself recently purchased a Samsung TU8000 which supports Dolby Atmos and eArc connection. If your TV only has Arc connection, it will still work, but not in the same manner as it would with eArc. In other words:Sonos eArc to TV Arc = Arc ConnectionSonos eArc to TV eArc = eArc ConnectionWhat’s the difference? To put it simply, Arc stands for Audio Return Channel. eArc stands for ENHANCED Audio Return Channel. That means it can handle more advanced audio formats and higher audio quality, such as Dolby Atmos in this case. Now, if you do not have EITHER Arc or eArc on your TV, they also have an HDMI to optical adapter which comes in the box. Again, eArc on your TV is the BEST for audio, but Sonos is providing you with more than one option in case your TV is older. With that said, lets move on…The Sonos Arc by itself (without any speakers or subwoofers) sounds wonderful on its own! I actually questioned if I really needed a subwoofer or rear speakers because it sound excellent just by itself in my opinion. It has plenty of bass when listening to music or watching a movie. The audio is crystal clear. The voices are clear as well. However, I had already ordered the rear speakers which arrived in the mail a few days later. I connected them as well to the Arc and tested a few movies that support Dolby Atmos such as Star Wars and Zootopia. I must say I am extremely happy with this setup! The sound isn’t as “jumpy” as other surround systems I’ve heard in the past (I’m talking years ago). For instance, if a train passes and you hear it go from the front to the rear speakers, it is smooth!! It doesn’t just jump to the back speaker. It does it in a way that sounds realistic, similar to a high end movie theater. I love this! Star Wars sounds absolutely amazing as well! If you really want to test the sound of Atmos, I highly recommend the pod racing scene from Star Wars episode 1. I know, I know, it’s not everyones favorite film. I’m just saying the Atmos surround sound within that scene is just a wonderful way to test out your new system. You will be amazed! Now, not all movies support Atmos. I’ve tested Dolby Digital audio, such as Harry Potter, and was pleasantly surprised as well. In order to change from Atmos to other audio formats, such as Dolby Digital, you need to do it from your TV settings. Sonos does not have a setting for it. Your TV will though. I did it with my Samsung TU8000 and simply turned off “Atmos” in settings which automatically switched it to Dolby Digital. The surround sound came on immediately once I did this.DTS:X is unfortunately NOT supported, which is a downside but because it supports other formats I let this slide. Harry Potter, for example, despite NOT being in Atmos still sounds wonderful in Dolby Digital. As for voice commands you have 2 options: Google or Alexa. I chose Alexa because that is what I have always had in my home. It is easy to play music using Amazon Music. The sound is excellent, especially songs with a lot of bass. In fact, the bass is so good that I cancelled my Subwoofer that I was planning to get. I MAY change my mind later, but for right now the bass on the Arc alone is so good that I just don’t really feel I need the Subwoofer right now.Overall, I am very happy with my new home theater system. It offers great and more realistic surround sound compared to home theater systems I’ve listened to in the past. The setup is easy using the new Sonos App. I love the fact that it is so easy to switch from Amazon Music, to watching a movie or TV. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and the black blends in nicely to my black TV stand. Highly recommended!!!!

Excellent sound bar with minor issues

Now that I have been using this sound bar for a few weeks, I am totally in love and glad I took the leap. I was mainly looking for a capable home theater system with wireless rear surrounds. I knew the beam would not cut it, so initially I bought a Playbar, a Sub, and two Ones. However, the sound from my Sony 5.1 home theater system was better, with a major limitation of the Playbar being that the voices were not clear (my family complained about this, too). Seeing the Arc had just come out and having read several reviews, I decided to return the Playbar and get an Arc instead. Actually, with the 5.1 Surround Set bundle deal on Amazon at the time, a brand new Arc, pair of Ones, and new gen Sub were cheaper (1459.66) than I could get the same setup with a Playbar. Price aside, this time the Sonos has sound that actually delivers — the voices sound great during television and movies, music sounds great, and the fidelity is amazing.Pros- Better sound than other sound bars – I don’t think any sound better- Great sound to be had that is less expensive than a traditional home theater setup with a receiver and high end speakers- Small footprint- Easy setup- ARC/eARC means that your TV remote will seamlessly work to control the volume (as long as your TV supports it) without annoying setup or workarounds- Crystal-clear, well-balanced sound- Better center with clearer voices/dialogue compared to the Playbar and other sound bars- Slightly lower profile and wider than the Playbar, so less intrusive on the TV and wider sound field- Better design that has done away with fabric covers and just looks and feels elegant- Wireless surround that actually works when paired with Ones- Adequate bass even when not paired with a Sub- Simple enough to operate that my family will actually use it rather than set the sound back to the TV sound- Intelligent use of speakers when not in Atmos mode- Immersive music playback as a bonus when paired with Ones- HDMI to optical adapter included in case you need it- Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant built in- Sonos app is well designed and usefulCons- Price- Sound is not as good as can be had with an AV receiver with high quality speakers- Cannot use any of your existing speakers without a pricey Sonos Amp- Your TV should ideally support eARC (only a con if your current TV does not, which many do not!) for optimal Dolby Atmos support- If you need the optical setup, the configuration is Sonos HDMI port>short HDMI cable>short male optical adapter, and if that is not long enough to reach your sound input, you’ll have to be creative- If your TV remote is not IR-based (e.g. you have a Samsung One Remote), you cannot use the Sonos app to set it up and you’ll have to find work-arounds- Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant built in (if you are not into your home having mics)

Super Easy Setup and Amazing Sound

I had a POS soundbar that the bar needed constant unplugging to reset it and finally it stopped working. The company support help was as good as the soundbar. I purchased the Sonos and within 15 minutes I had amazing sound coming out of my tv. Definitely would recommend this.

Wait, there’s dialogue in this movie?!?

Arc is the third sound bar I’ve bought for my current home theater and probably the tenth sound bar purchase in my life. The prompt for buying a new sound bar is always mounting frustration over not being able to hear dialogue in shows and movies. Arc is the first bar to reliably deliver clear human voices even when layered over music and special effects. I am -for the first time- satisfied while watching a show with the family. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

    Solid speaker

Works just fine. Sounds good. Looks great. Easy installation. Expected from a Sonos product nowadays.Weaknesses:1. The automatic switching between TV and, say, playing directly to the Sonos speaker via Spotify doesn’t work as well as I’d hoped.2. The speakers in my Sony Bravia XR 65 A95 are actually pretty solid, I really bought this because I wanted the Sonos Sub. TBH, I kinda liked the speakers on my TV for mid + high tones better because they’re distributed throughout the TV, instead of all coming from below the TV now. But all good. When you have the volume up, it’s a home theatre! Especially with the sub!

Love it, but sometimes a bit much

The only complaint I have is how long it took receive this and the subwoofer. Sound is amazing. Bought two “rear” speakers as well. Gorgeous sound. Well done. Can’t complain about the time given the stresses on the supply chains during Covid-19.** Update after a month or so of useI still find the sound amazing, but with the full set-up, it sometimes gets shockingly loud. This is especially true for high action / Marvel type movies, but happens with lighter fare as well. The problem I have is some special effects sounds boom shockingly loud given the volume level needed to hear normal level dialogue. I’ve tried tweaking the bass way down on the subwoofer, tweaking the max level percent, and of course using the dialogue enhanced mode. These measures help a bit, but ultimately there are still times where it is simply jarring.I can’t take a star away for that, because when that is what you want, it delivers. And really, you buy a total system like this for those kinds of audio experiences. However, sometimes I just want to watch a regular show and not have to keep trying to balance between being able to hear dialogue while not being overwhelmed by booms or door slams, etc.One thing that I think would help, and I believe this could be done through a firmware update, is to enable removing the subwoofer / rear channels without having to completely unpair them. Currently, removing these extra speakers requires a complete repairing later when you want them on again. That’s kind of annoying. A temporary disabling of the extra channels would be much appreciated. Also, I would definitely not recommend leaving the rear channels on while removing the subwoofer only. It throws to much bass at the rear channels in that configuration, and it sounds awful. So it’s either remove three speakers, then later go through the full process of pairing the system again, or be prepared to volume dance when watching a show when you want less than a cinematic, booming experience.

Very good soundbar with a couple of limitations

I have been looking for a soundbar for my new LG E9 65″ TV and tried several ways to improve the sound. This LG E9 is touted to have good sound with built-in Dolby 4.2 and Atmos but I was not surprised that speakers small enough to fit in this thin TV don’t have any fullness to their sound. I had an older high end Denon AVR hooked up to top of the line KEF stereo speakers with a KEF center speaker and 2 surrounds that I had used for my previous Panasonic Plasma TV but it didn’t have eARC or 4K passthrough or handle the new HDR or Atmos codecs to the new TV.I purchased an LG 5.1.2 (SN10YG) soundbar with a subwoofer and used it for a month but found it boomy and the dialog hard to understand so I returned it. For point of reference I am a senior citizen with normal hearing deterioration for my age. When I was younger I had high end stereos with 15″ subwoofers, and understand good visceral base that is felt as much as heard but for my TV, at my age, I am only looking for a full, well rounded, well balanced sound with clear and easy to understand dialog. I also need my TV speakers to be intelligible at high enough volume to be heard clearly over my treadmill which the TV’s built in speakers definitely would not do even at 100% full volume.I then purchased this new Sonos ARC soundbar and do like it very much. The sound is clear, full and round at all volumes. The ARC has small woofers that won’t vibrate your room like 12” or 15” or 18” subwoofers but that is just fine with me and you can purchase an expensive Sonos sub to add to the soundbar if you wish. You can also purchase Sonos surround speakers but the way my listening area is spread out across a large recliner, long couch and treadmill surrounds would be unbalanced in most of my viewing area. My biggest complaint, and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, is that unless you are an Apple phone or ipad owner you can not tune this soundbar to your room acoustics. Even my old Denon AVR came with a microphone with a long cord that you could take 8 or more readings of your room acoustics while the Denon played test tones, analyzed the sound and adjusted the sound output to your specific room acoustics. The LG soundbar that I returned would also adjust the sound to your room acoustics by playing test tones and listening with its internal microphones to learn your room acoustics and adjust accordingly. Internal microphones are definitely not as good as using an external microphone in multiple locations around your viewing and listening locations but it is considerably better than no adjustment to accommodate your specific room acoustics. For $800 Sonos should have included a microphone for balancing the sound to your room. Also, with my Android app or Windows 10 app I find only 2 adjustments available for the Sonos Arc sound profile, a night mode to compress the dynamic range of loud and soft sounds and a speech enhancement mode which seems to just reduce the base and makes the voice sound clearer but much tinier. I don’t believe there is even an equalizer that you may adjust yourself. All in all the Sonos ARC soundbar sounds very good even without the ability to do room acoustic adjustments but would likely sound noticeably better if you had a microphone to adjust room acoustics. The majority of people in the US and around the world do not own Apple products. Sonos ARC not including a microphone at this price point is a serious deficiency. I do like the sound of the Sonos ARC soundbar well enough to keep it and hope at some point Sonos offers a way for me to tune it to my room acoustics.

A great product with the right EQ setting.

This Arc is made to work with surround speakers and suboofer. So if you want to use this Arc stand alone you need to set the right EQ. Otherwise this thing is a ultimate treble machine with no mid and bass. Here’s my equalizing tip. It’ll sound like B&O.1. set the treble at -32. set the bass at 33. turn off Loudness, 3D sound, and Trueply.4. Set volume limit at 80%

    Good looking soundbar

I did my homework before buying. I watched video reviews and read the written ones. My main reason for buying was for the clarity of dialog when watching tv and movies. For the amount of money that I spent on this speaker I guess my expectations were too high. The sound is good and clear on some things and unclear on others. If I have to buy the additional sub-woofer and side speakers to get a clearer sound I will but, it will make this one of the most expensive soundbars on the market. My suggestion is for you to go to a store and listen before buying expensive audio speakers.

    The Must Have Sound Bar!

I purchased this to add to a large screen Samsung tv. The sound quality from the samsung 65″ smart tv left a lot to be desired, so I purchased this. Buying this sound bar was the best investment ever! The sound that emanates from this device is rich and clear, and seems to come from everywhere! Channel clarity is fantastic, and bass sounds come out without the use of a subwoofer (although I understand that too is a must-have!)Installation/hook up to the tv was about 10 minutes, and not difficult at all. I liked this product so much, I bought another for a family member, who too, thinks it’s a fantastic addition to the listening experience!

    Compatibility issues with Samsung TVs

I got this sound bar to pair with my Samsung The Frame TV. When I first got the Sonos it worked out of the box just fine. Paired with Alexa and the TV recognized it and defaulted to running sound through the sound bar. A couple days later I got up to find no sound and when I could get sound it was intermittent. After fiddling around for a while I got it back and eventually it started working properly again. I’ve only had one additional time that the sound was intermittent but for the most part it has worked fine. There is a known problem with Sonos and Samsung TVs. All I know is that when the problem is occuring I see the Sound output toggling between HDMI e-Arc and plain HDMI. I have fixed the issue by turning off e-Arc auto mode and setting digital output to PCM. That’s not a sure-fire fix but it has worked for me. Hopefully Sonos and Samsung will get this worked out.

This bar is great but with woof and surround it is out of this world,

This is the easiest system I have ever set up. The bar has only two cords, one for power and one for HDMI ARC. The clarity is awesome but I still felt I needed something more so I got the surround speakers and woof. That did it and I highly recommend you make the BIG purchase for the complete set. The bar is great by itself so if you need to purchase a little at a time go for the bar and you will see a big difference. I like bass so the woofer is what I think I was missing. You will not regret this purchase!

Needed to downsize from HTD tower speakers and the sound is wonderful

It’s difficult to see in this pic because it blends so well with the shelf it sits on. I love the smooth, low-profile look. The curved edges help it blend even more. The sound is really great. When we downsized from a house to a condo, I absolutely could not part with the sound system my husband had bought for our projection theater. The sound was just so perfect! But living so close to others, we were always worried about the volume because bass was replicated just as well as treble so it boomed sometimes. We actually got rid of the sub woofer at the house because of it. This speaker system gives you full sound with less boom. In fact, when we first tried them there was a bit of boom, but it’s directed so well that you can’t hear it in other rooms. I really love this system and I appreciate the extra floor space that I have now too.

I have been delighted with Sonos 2013.My playbar was awesome. I added a Sub in 2020 and sonos ones for L+R surround.. still delighted. What great sound. Well got even better than I hoped when I listened to my watched a movie in dd+ atmos , on my new sonis ARC. Well gotta tell ya that I am so pissed at this system because of constant resetting which includes power off each speaker including Sub just to get the system seen by the program again. Shame on you Sonos I think i am going to sell and by something more stable.

    BUYER BEWARE

I would give this product 0 stars if possible. Awful software. The software locks you into paying to stream music using apps that won’t even play exact songs that you want to hear. What’s even worse is that there is no Bluetooth compatability between Android phones and the sonos arc. I definitely would never recommend this soundbar to anybody. The sound quality is very sub par. I am kicking myself for getting rid of my 100 dollar menards soundbar that was bluetooth compatible and had BETTER sound quality.

Glitchy Software / Compatibility and then physically broke down

This product has some great online reviews, I was psyched. I was excited to get it, I even waited for it while it was backordered. Anyway, finally get it, easy enough to setup.I had a 2017 LG OLED (B-series). Ever since I hooked it up, sometimes I’d have to restart shows on streaming services.I love(d) Sonos so much that I thought it was the TVs fault at first. I upgraded to a 2020, brand new LG OLED (C-series). The show restart issue was now less frequent, but then out of the blue it started to completely disconnect/die/disappear and then come back on its own. Then, the left side started making a buzzing sound no matter what app I used, what content I listened to.I just called support and they’ve immediately offered me a replacement. To their credit, I appreciate the ease with which they start the replacement process. But, the fact that they have such a well-set replacement program speaks volumes. Customer support is not surprised to hear your brand new Arc is going bad on its own 3 months into ownership. It’s taken up a lot of time debugging, resetting, configuring in the 3-4 months I’ve owned it.Edit: 2 years in, I just threw it in the trash. Useless. You’re going to spend time debugging a Sonos more than listening to it. No more patience left to line by line list what’s wrong with this brand. Conclusion is that the software changes over the years have made it aggravating to use.

I purchased a $300 Sony soundbar that I was unhappy with the bass, voice quality, etc. I didn’t want to spend $800 on a Soundbar but I am glad that I did. It is more than worth the cost. Enough so that I plan on purchasing the sub at the same price. My only complaint is the slight issue connecting the soundbar to the app.

Awesome powerful crystal clear sound in a unobtrusive package

Love the Arc. I replaced a Sonos Playbar with the Arc and the upgrade is significant. I’m no expert about sound by any means but I know what I like, and this sounds incredible. I have it paired with the Sonos Sub and two Sonos One’s for the surrounds. Basically the same setup I had before with the Playbar. The Playbar is now continuing it’s service in a guest room. The Arc is also quite excellent with music too. I’d choose it again in a heartbeat.

    Great upgrade from the Playbar

Upgraded from the Playbar to go with the Sub and two Play 3s. Great setup to supplement my LG C9 which does ATMOS processing over eARC. Arc mounted on a MantelMount MM540 (be sure to get the M5 20mm mounting screws). Sounds fantastic and there are plenty of reviews out there by audiophiles that will do justice in a write-up so I won’t try. Just showing how the Arc looks on a mount and mentioning the mount screws required which is not included.

    Overall disappointed

I have this soundbar for little over a week and overall sound quality is mediocre and not seems from any angle worth of $799. Most of songs which I played sound much better on Sonos one which is under $200. I noticed many users are complaining about same thing on sonos community forum stating distorted bass and muffled sound which exactly I am also experiencing. Sonos support stated they identified potential bug and will release it next week so wait to apply that fix to see if it fixes the sound quality before returning. As of now my recommendation is not to buy and really surprised how this soundar got very good prelaunch reviews .

The speaker regularly drops sound and emits a popping/crackling noise. The only way to recover is to fast forward and reverse until it stops. This is $900 that is about to go in the closet as a failed experiment. I would never buy another Sonos product.

    Trueplay only available for iphone

The sound quality is great and the speaker looks really good as well. The selling point for me was being able to customize the speaker for your room to simulate surround sound. However, the feature referred to as “trueplay” which is part of the Sonos app, is only available for iPhone. So I have to call one of my friends over and use their phone in order to fully set up my sound bar. Because of that annoyance I am giving 4 stars instead of 5.

IF you VALUE your PRIVACY read THIS

IF I knew this BEFORE I ordered this system, it would NOT of happened. So they have the sl option which means no listening software built in some products. There is instructions on their website to remove the surveillance software. There is also the Sonos app that you MUST register and USE to actually use the equipment you just paid high dollar (to me) for. WHAT??? Now I need to get this app and sign my privacy away (yes I read all of it) in order to use the equipment I paid for which means I OWN, but Sonos has the control over! Yes, you are having your private conversations recorded via Sonos equipment, which they say stays locally stored on your equipment, BUT THEY WILL TURN OVER TO LAW ENFORCEMENT?? WTH??? So if it stayed locally on the equipment I own, again, how do you have it, Sonos??? I realize this is an extreme scenario, but is it really???I haven’t received this equipment yet, coming in a couple days. I purchased mainly at this time for the Super Bowl, so I thought I would set up the mandatory account because I can’t use my equipment until I give Sonos (big brother) the ability to control everything first. BAM….NO, YOU CAN NOT USE YOUR VPN ( your privacy choice) because again big brother, SONOS says NO. You can NOT even access the ability to create an account. So to confirm, I paused my VPN and tried again and well, just like magic, I was allowed.Well, that is the last straw for me. Even though I researched for 2 straight days and I chose to purchase Sonos, which meant I OWN and control the expensive equipment (Sonos Arc and Gen 3 sub), but hmmm really I don’t. So the decision, is this HAS TO GO. My money, I, ALONE own what I purchase and decide what will be in my home. Surveillance equipment is not a part of that.SHAME ON YOU SONOS.SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAMEYOU have created a HUGE problem and RUINED our gathering for the Super Bowel. Be TRANSPARENT and HONEST of who you really are, BIG BROTHER!!!Sennheimer, will be the choice.

This alone is solid but it really thrives with sub

For the money I don’t believe this is that much better than a tuner and floor speakers on it’s own. For the ease of set up, less cords to deal with, and capabilities – it’s pretty great. Add in the sub and two Sonos one speakers and the surround sound is unreal but very pricey. If you have the money it’s worth it but if you’re on a budget it might not be.

    Wow, just wow!

Prior to the Arc, I had purchased both the Beam and the Playbar from Costco….I really felt if they could combine the 2 they’d really have something…..then I saw that the Arc was almost available, so I reordered and am psyched that I did! I use this predominantly for movies, and of course music. For movies it’s just simply AMAZING! I don’t have the sub, nor do I think I need one, this puts out a tremendous amount of base….I hear things all around me despite only having the bar, no surround speakers. My only ding is I wish I had more sound control for music…..there’s not really much you can do…and you can’t use the voice enhancer with music like you can while watching Tv/ Video etc. Oh, and of course $80 for a wall bracket that probably cost $2 to make…..but I”ll wait until 3rd party resellers start to sell them. All in all I can confidently giving this a 2 thumbs up…. I really do love it ,a nd happily returned the others bars back to Costco :).For comparisons sake….the room that the bar is in is about 14×20….and the sound completely fills the room…no surrounds, no base. I hope this help!Pros:1. Sound! Wow!2. Setup was easy…less than 15 minutes and was up and running3. Sound!4. Alexa integration5. Looks cool6. Voice Enhancer is great7. Night time mode is very usefulCons:1. Would love more control over the sound2. Mounting bracket is needlessly expensive

    Crystal clear sound

A little background first. I live in a 600 square foot year round cottage near Lake Erie. I was looking for a speaker with a great sound and came across the Sonos Arc. In the late 70’s the Bose 901 series speakers were my ideal. I couldn’t afford them so I ended up with a nice system but not my ideal. I’ve had some good systems over the years but the Sonos Arc is the sweetest sound I’ve ever owned. It eances movie sound really well but if you’re looking for explosive movie sound it’s not here without using a subwoofer. I’m still giving a 5 star rating because of how the speaker sounds with my music., I like listening to older rock music and I’ve listened to music every night in the 2 months that I’ve had the Sonos. It was rare for me to listen to music more than 1-2 nights a week prior to owning the Sonos. I have no need for the sub woofer while listening to my music – it would overwhelm the crystal clear sound. Having a small home also eliminates the need for satellite speakers – I can hear lt well from anywhere in the house. I’m looking forward to listening to the sweet sound of this speaker while watching sunsets over the lake this summer.

    Excellent

So at first I was so disappointed in the sound quality, but thankfully after true play tuning and about a month later sound started to sound fuller and so much better! So glad I didn’t return and now very happy with my purchase. Movie nights are especially good now with the whole 5.1 setup so recommend the sub and play ones. Also really appreciate how clear the voices are and set up was really easy. Only con is streaming music is still not the best, but it’s a sound bar and I can live with it.
