Storage for Xbox series s or X
I got this for my Xbox series X because the price was right during the sale and I liked it better than the Seagate because I heard the Seagate was pretty slow this one was not bad in speed but it wasn’t great in speed either compared to what I saw with the two terabyte Seagate one that was hitting the higher speeds I like the design of the Western Digital but I wish it was a bigger size and a better price the value even with the sale was for a 1 TB it’s kind of high then again it’s Microsoft’s fault because they’re making a proprietary so when there’s only two manufacturers making them that’s why they’re so high in price. They don’t really have to make it higher in price and if they would just lower the price or they would have a lot more sales but for their value it’s not as good as like when you can do what a PlayStation 5 using SSD feel like Microsoft was taking advantage of us by making it this way so I tried one and it’s not what I thought it would be especially for the price just for that I would definitely buy a PlayStation 5 before I would buy an Xbox and I got to buy both during Christmas and for the value of the PS5 is a better deal especially when it comes to being able to upgrade your memory as far as Western Digital product they did make a better looking product and I know that most Seagate hard drives only come with a one year when Western Digital gives 3 years so that tells you that Western Digital stands behind their products so I like what Stern digital because of that but because the product is higher in price because it’s proprietary I wish Western Digital would have broken the mold by giving us a better deal

Storage amount!!!

I had to erase a game every time I want to download a new one. I bought it for my Xbox Series and is easy to configure, once all games are moved to the disk the development of the consoles improves, decreasing the loading times and I don’t have to erase my favorite games!!

This item is exactly what you need for your Xbox Series X/S. I got a S for my son and he needed more storage. I use a sea gate for my X that I was using on my One. While the sea gate works great at storing, you have to move the games back and forth. With this device, you just plug it in and boom, you are off and running. No moving from storage device to console. I will definitely get one for my series X.

This takes care of the one shortcoming of your Xbox Series console… storage. Simple to use, just plug it into the dedicated memory card slot, answer the question that pops up about whether or not this card will be used with only this one console or used with multiple consoles. Then use it the same as you would your internal storage. NOTE: Try to catch this when it goes on sale and save yourself a little money.

Worked like it should
This went right in and worked. It’s also fast enough for what it is; seems no different than the internal storage on the Xbox Series S/X.Pricey due to the form factor and required memory density compared to a M2 2280 which can fit more chips. Not bad compared to a M2 2230 when on sale, though.

I was skeptical at first but I needed to purchase another one of these expansion cards for another Xbox but for some reason I couldn’t get the data size I was looking for from the seagate version and I didn’t even know that another brand made these. I purchased it and it works. No issues. It’s fast and performs just like the seagate.

Every Series S Owner Needs One
I’ve owned an Xbox Series S since the first year in which the console launched. I’ve managed to get by with the usage of external hard drives to save Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox games onto. However, for all newer Xbox Series games, I’ve had to utilize the methodology of transferring games to and from external drives to the internal drive in order to be able to play them. It becomes tedious to do on a regular basis, and with the rather limited internal storage size of the Series S, it often meant that I only had 4-5 Series S games saved internally at any given time, due to the increase in game file size this generation. Upon purchasing this device, I have more than enough memory to save a multitude of games on now, and don’t find myself struggling with the same storage issues as before. I highly recommend the purchase of the largest size you’re able to afford as it’s very beneficial in the long run.

It just works!
1TB in a Series X just is not enough for all the bloated AAA games coming out lately, ::cough:: CoD, Forza ::cough::. I picked one of these up that was on sale for 2024 holiday season to expand storage capacity. Drive is small, was easy to insert and after going into system settings and formatting for Xbox, it was ready to use! Transfer between main drive and this drive is quick.Only con is size is limited to 1TB for WD’s version whereas Seagate offers up to 2TB.

Easy to install and use
You just plug this directly into the back of the console and you will be prompted to format it and that’s it, you are up and running.It doesn’t plug in all the way and has a little bit sticking out which bothered me, but as the slot is in the back of the system you’ll never see it. But it gives you the impression it isn’t fully inserted when it is.The manual said the unit can become hot when using it and advised caution when handling it. Since the SSD sticks out of the back anyway it feels like maybe they should have put a heatsink there. I haven’t had any issues with thermals yet, but that warning did bother me a little.It does come with a redeemable code for Game Pass Ultimate. If you use it it starts up with recurring billing even though it’s free. Be sure to immediately turn that off in the Subscriptions menu as soon as you redeem the code.1TB isn’t a lot of space but this unit is way cheaper than the overpriced Seagate 2TB model. I’ve used WD Black drives in my PCs and have had zero problems so I trusted this over Seagate. We’ll see how it holds up over time.

I got this on the black friday sale ($125), so for me it was value for me, however at the usual price $149 it is a bit expensive. IT works as described, by regular Seagate drive has become unstable so while its going to be a pain to redownload the games again, I know that with this, I can play the games directly too and use features such as quick resume. There is a reason why xbox remains my gaming device of choice. Useable storage is one of them (as opposed to PSx wanting to copy the entire game on local storage before you can play it).
