Great value for money but change the power supply

This purchase was an amazing value for the money specially with gpu prices still at an all time high, but be warned however that the power supply that came with this specific model only has 500 watts, so if you want to do your upgrades like more ram and hdd make sure to upgrade the power supply first

    Gets hot

Over all the tower gets hot. The fan cant keep up. So we have to put a fan on it. My son uses it to stream his Iracing but it blocks a portion of the live stream out. Figured its not the source but the computer.

    avoid acer pc

im not going to comment specifically on the other towers but based on my interactions with acer support im going to assume this goes for all models and not just the one i bought.it runs hot, like 85-90 hot. i contacted acer support and their response was essentially “so what, its not throttle temp” i was flabbergasted and said thats too high, its going to damage the cpu “its rated to run at 95” like wtf what you rate it at doesnt change the laws of physics that level of heat will wreck the hardware. i contacted support again asking what the max size cooler for the case was, their response? “we dont know” how do you not know? its YOUR CASE “nobody asks so we dont know” i bought 1 that didnt fit, i tried another. the 2nd cooler cant be installed because of acer;s proprietary motherboard configuration. i was stuck with a pc that runs hot and will wear out far too quickly because of acer’s ****ty buisness practices.avoid acer computers dont go through what i went through

    Update: Not Worth the Money

The PSU crapped out on me by January. Lots of crash issues, I am currently dealing it Tech Support for the repair. I would have just replaced it with a better one however the cable connecters are proprietary, so the only way to replace the PSU would be to replace the motherboard as well.Update: The CPU has decided to go nuclear and never cool off. I’ve done everything that should cool it down however it is useless. There is no fan speed controller, and none of the software downloaded controllers work. DO NOT BUY THIS. BUILD YOUR OWN.

    Questionable quality

Bought this 9 months ago during Black Friday and it seemed like a good machine, but my 3070 graphics card is already having problems with the fan stopping and making awful sounds etc.Super disappointed. I would have just spent a few extra bucks to get better pieces individually so I could trust the quality.

    Arrived broken:

It did power on when it arrived but froze within 24 hours and would not start back up. I combed the internet for a about 16 hours trying every solution I could find. Nothing worked. Called tech support and their recommendations were VERY VERY basic and were all things I tried in the first hour. Acer won’t warranty because it’s from Amazon. Got a best buy membership and had them take a look at it. They said it’s toast. They couldn’t get it to boot after replacing, cpu, ram, graphics card, basically everything but the motherboard. Really disappointed. Returned and praying for a refund soon

    Loud obnoxious fans, overheats.

There’s a number of things wrong with this computer that caused me to return it. The very first time I turned it on, it gave a loud nonstopping beep and wouldn’t boot. From there I discovered it had a bad PSU, hearing static electricity popping inside. The computer would also overheat from simply being on, not even playing a heavy game. It would pause every few seconds occasionally freezing all software. The case felt so cheap, you could feel the lack of quality. Returned it and am building my own instead to be safe.

    hot and loud

Fans are super loud and the computer runs hot. It works well and runs smooth but I’m afraid that the heat will damage it over time. I got it on sale and was a good price but I’d rather have spent more for a better cooling computer

    PSU blew out

PSU blew out. Apparently didn’t catch it but its a 500W PSU. A 3070’s *minimum* requirement is 650WLasted about six months before it shut off for overcharge protection and popped. So now it doesn’t turn on.Wasn’t doing anything crazy or overclocking or anything.Buyer beware. You’ll want to replace the PSU ASAP at the very least.

    Too pricey

I was going to buy it for the “black friday” price of $1199, but within an hour, it was $1500, which is more than what it’s worth, imo. Going for the Dell instead.

    Faulty Hardware

I was really excited to receive this PC. The moment I set up windows and logged in I noticed the screen periodically blinking. It seemed like the GPU was quickly crashing. I reviewed the reliability monitor and it appears it was repeatedly throwing a live kernel event 141 error which seems to be common by doing a google search. I updated windows, updated the NVIDIA driver all with no luck. I contacted “Predator preferred support” which is just a foreign call center. They proposed the items I already tried. I even reset it to the factory acer windows image and installed a clean copy of windows with no resolution. After wasting 6 hours of research and troubleshooting I boxed it up and sent it back to Amazon. Waste of a day and no new PC.

Great for gaming at 1080p (1920×1080)

This computer is a beast. For the parts alone it is a great buy. The problem I am having after having it for a month is that the USB ports are failing. They are very loose and the front USB doesn’t work at all. The programs don’t read the temperature anymore in the predator software so that is useless as well. But all in all it has great hardware that can be swapped into a new case with a new CPU fan for better cooling. When I received the computer there were multiple scratches and dents on the glass on the front and the metal and the case. I might have gotten a refurbished model yet I paid for a new model. Might have been a shipping mistake or a return but no one wants to give me a good answer.

    First PC

This PC was easy to set up and it’s been 2months since I had it and I am play New World. The graphics are great on night and the PC has no slow or down time. The pc is also quite while playing games. I am using the stock fan that came with it. I tried to buy and attach the fan that is suggested in the order menu but I wasn’t able to install it. To come find out I really didn’t need that new fan. I highly recommend this pc as an into to gaming!9/10

Good PC but the window to replace one of the sides was missing in the box. Between myself and my partner we each ordered one. My pc came with it but it was missing in her box.

    Excellent machine for the money

I have been using an older Acer predator for about 12 years and needed an upgrade. I am a 30 year IT professional and I play games a lot. So I needed something that would keep up with the latest games. This machine does everything I needed to do and more. Definitely a very good purchase.

Sometimes loud (CPU fan?). Case’s back is sealed.

Works fine for almost a week so far. The back of the case is sealed, so if you are going to upgrade your CPU cooler (by removing the backplate) and/or moving the motherboard around for whatever reason, you’re going to have a really rough time. The CPU fan (I’m assuming) is loud as hell sometimes. Right now I’m idling at around 75C (CPU) for some reason, nd my GPU is at around 48C. There’s not really a direct way to control the CPU/GPU fans, but the PredatorSense app does let you control the case fans, as well as seeing the CPU/GPU/System usage stats (temp, load %, frequency, etc.).Overall, planning to upgrade the CPU cooler with a Noctua NH-U9S (black), after returning the Cooler Master Hyper H412R due to it not reaching the default backplate, and its own backplate doesn’t have holes for stabilizing the CPU (those three holes positioned in a Y-shape).EDIT: 6-month checking in. Taking out the front case to for monthly cleaning is a pain in the ass. Airflow is kind of alright after replacing the stock cooler. Buy if you really need a PC, otherwise I would say there are probably better options if you just keep browsing…..or build your own parts.

The pc is good, don’t plan to upgrade much at all.

At the time I got this pc everyone was in the peak of the gpu shortage. I wanted to custom build but couldn’t . I found this pc and to be honest it was a steal. I’m not a pro at pc knowledge but…I’ve picked up a lot more knowledge after getting this one. So first thing is first. The cpu fan… get rid of it asap. I put a Noctua on mine and it was a really easy must do kind of thing. Second the mother board is proprietary soooo don’t expect to over clock your cpu or ram because this will not run any kind of xmp profiles. So all the pretty rgb ram you see on YouTube? Nope. Not happening at least at high speeds. You can put it in their but you may have speed issues. Now everything isn’t all negative. The cpu is a beast. The gpu is pretty good to be honest. The ssd it comes with is ok but all the pcie slots for your nvme m.2’s are gen 3 except for the graphics card slot it’s gen 4 thank god. And the psu is atx12v standard. Which is rather see a plan atx but beggars can’t be choosers. Over all if you don’t want to build a pc and you want the best bang for your buck then….I would consider this machine here. If you want the best performance that you can get out of these kind of specs then I’d keep shopping or diy it and build one. Acer does have an amazing community over at the official acer forum. You can ask a question and usually get responses back pretty quick. As for tech support idk luckily I haven’t had to reach out. So with all that being said….Buy it….Don’t buy it ….you choose.

    Absolutely obsessed with this PC!

This PC is absolutely amazing! I would recommend upgrading the stock rams and the CPU fan.My upgrades:Ram-TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 3200MHz (PC4-25600) CL16 Desktop Memory Module Ram (Gray) – TLZGD432G3200HC16FDC01CPU fan-Noctua NH-U9S chromax.Black, 92mm Single-Tower CPU Cooler (Black)Using my suggested upgrades above will make your PC extremely fast and keep temps at the perfect levels!!!Side note:When you are using PredatorSense app to adjust your fan speeds or light changes, make sure you close it when you are finished. If you leave this app open, it will cause your PC to freeze for about 3-5 seconds, and this happens 1-3 times per hour. There is something wrong with the app that causes this and I’ve notified Acer about this and they are working on a fix.It cannot damage your PC in any way, but it is extremely annoying, so just close the app when you are finished adjusting things. This is by far the best computer I have ever owned and will be buying a second one as a gift for my spouse. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PC!(I am a graphic designer, gamer, streamer, YouTube influencer; which are my primary uses for this PC)

Very Good Gaming PC for the Sale Price

For a prebuild PC it is very good and will last you a long time. The RTX 3070 is a beast and you should not need more than 16gb of RAM (although I did upgrade to 32gb because I had a pair lying around). This PC will run most if not all high end games at high settings. However there was one issue I ran into after playing on it for about a month. The CPU would get pretty hot, and i mean HOT. The temperature can hover around 70c on Idle and 90c when gaming.I recommend swapping the fan out with a different CPU cooler. The case is also not the most air flow friendly and it only comes with three fans.I got this PC on sale for $1,459.99 and I believe it was absolutely worth that price.

Do not buy the RTX 3050 version

I purchased this product “on sale” on black friday for $900 thinking it was a good deal. My own fault for making this purchase knowing absolutely nothing about PCs really. Here we are now it’s almost February and it’s selling even cheaper now than it was then, however that is beside the point. This PC is good if you just want to stream video or surf the web, but it is absolutely trash for gaming. You will get MAYBE 50 FPS on games like warzone at 1080p high settings, that is IF you can deal with the fan noise. The fan is so loud that it becomes very irritating.I purchased this PC planning to get my feet wet in the world of PC gaming and enjoy a superior gaming experience, so it is really a shame that my PS5 is far superior when it comes to gaming. So 2 months later, I am back to playing games on the PS5 and this PC is collecting dust.PLEASE do yourself a favor, and do your research to build a PC yourself.

    Non-Upgradeable (For the most part)

Owned for a year to the day and thought I would come back to review.Plug and play as long as the memory holds out. For me that was about 6 Mos. Had to order a brand new set of sticks due to the failing set they gave you and an epic BSOD memory failure night.Like said in another review, there are a few key components that you will be frustrated by finding upgrades.PSU started to fail out this week and trying to find another one is brutal with the pin connections and size of the case. Not to mention this newer style of PSU is less adaptable.I’m pretty much locked into this graphics card, which it is a great card, but no hope of upgrade. Those are the facts so far for me.

So far so good… + Update (One Year)

I have always been a gaming laptop kind of person. They’re plug-and-play, I don’t have to mess with the insides, and they come with the latest tech. for a decent price. Well, my ROG Zephryus G14 died on me in a 2 year span and I realized gaming laptops aren’t super sustainable in the long run anyway. So, that leaves me with building my own gaming PC or buying a pre-built. I fully intended to learn the ropes and build my own, but the prices for certain parts are still astronomical and I just don’t have the time. I’m sure a lot of other people are in the same boat.I researched the best custom-build websites like Digital Storm, Corsair, Newegg, etc., but they all had their own sets of problems like price, poor customer service, etc. I ended up buying a Cyberpower PC on a recommendation from one of my friends. But that was DOA, as the GPU came damaged causing green lines all over my monitor. I returned that PC and decided to go for this Acer PC because Acer has a great community and decent customer service. There are some non-standard parts that will make upgrading a bit more difficult in the long run, but overall this desktop runs great for the price! It arrived packaged incredibly well and was pretty much plug-and-play for those of us a bit nervous to crack the case open. It’s a great beginner PC. I will say that the CPU runs hot, with the fans on max RPM it can get up to 90 to 95 Celsius. This can be fixed by upgrading the CPU fan. Others have recommended Noctua for that and I think that’s the safe bet.It does run pretty much every game, but until you upgrade the stock RAM and CPU fan, you’ll have throttling/heat issues. Bumping down the graphics in games to high/medium offers a temporary fix to that if you want to hold off on upgrading.I’m a naturally cautious PC buyer, so I’ll keep y’all updated on how it continues to run. So far so good.Update:After a little over a year of using this PC, I have very few complaints. I haven’t run into any software issues. It handles day-to-day operations and more intensive activities with ease. It’s easy to take apart and dust. However, I have gotten to the point where high temps are becoming a bit worrisome. It hasn’t affected performance, but sometimes I notice a “mechanical” smell when running intensive games, which does not bode well for maintaining the health of your PC and its parts. This particular CPU supposedly runs fine around 80 Celsius, but I’d feel much more comfortable staying in the 60-75 range when gaming. So, I went through the process of upgrading the external fan and CPU cooler with Noctua fans (Noctua NF-A9 for the external fan and Noctua NH-U9S for the CPU cooler). The process went SO smoothly. My CPU does not hit temps higher than 75 C now, even with High settings. As previously mentioned, I was terrified of messing with the insides of a PC, but this was a breeze. I followed a guide on the Acer Community forum and had no issues. I’ll link it here: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/643916/the-p03-620-upgrades-ive-madeFor any upgrade needs on this PC, there are step-by-step guides and answers on the community page.

Nice PC, it works very well; the only downside is the CPU cooler solution, so I bought a Noctua NH-U9S chromax for better performance.

Love the look and style of this PC. The memory and graphics card are a great size and there’s room to update if needed. It runs smoothly, and handles pretty beefy games easily. The only downside is the loud fan, but it’s definitely not a dealbreaker.

    Didn’t work

Waited almost two months for a defective computer. It just kept turning on and turning off. At least Acer tech support was efficient. Had me go through a couple of steps and quickly decided computer was defective. At least the return process was easy. Probably not going to order another desktop from Acer online.

    Awesome starter computer!

I got this for Christmas so I’ve been using it for about a month now. So far I haven’t had any issues! The glass side panel it comes with is super neat. I also like that I can mess with it pretty easily and I should be able to add upgrades as needed. Straight out of the box it’s great though!I dont like the keyboard or mouse it came with. They work and there’s nothing wrong with them, I just swear by my logitech hero mouse and don’t care for that style of key personally.

Its a ok deal has a cooling problem i did fix that with a NH-U9S.

I am upgrading the ram also i feel that 16gigs is capped out easy. They do not allow you to underclock the cpu to cool it down a bit i updated the bios but no option to adjust voltage or clocking. First thing you should do is take it off the power profile that acer applies it will help till you can get a better cooling system over all a decent rig not unhappy at the price i got it for.

Compact gaming rig that’s worth the money

I’ve built all of my previous PCs but have been a bit out of the game for years since my last PC was suitable for my needs, until it wasn’t. I looked at build options as well as various different PC gaming manufacturers. This Acer Predator, with a 12th generation I7 and an nVidia RTX 3070, was on par with pricing if I chose to build. While I was unimpressed with the case and USB availability I can say that it runs great and neither are issues for me. The fans ramp up louder as you are playing games or doing anything CPU/GPU intensive, but it’s not out of the ordinary. The only way to avoid that is with liquid cooling. What few issues I’ve had with the PC were related more to Windows 11 than PC hardware (some settings, especially power/sleep, needed to be tweaked). The included keyboard and mouse are pretty standard but do sync with RGB lighting of the case. The tempered glass side cover is optional and is shipped in its own internal box. Once installed I believe it helps with some noise cancellations. Overall, I’m very happy with this gaming PC and would recommend it for those that want a decent gaming PC and are on a budget.
