Enhances dialog in shows and movies. Simple setup.
Bought this because the speakers on our tv made it difficult to separate dialog from the sound track. We would turn the volume up, but that wasn’t always enough to understand what was being said. Saw a review of this speaker and it’s dialog enhance mode and decided to try it. Could not be happier with the result. We really didn’t want a whole surround sound setup-or at least my wife didn’t- but needed something better than the speakers in the tv. This was it. I used the optical audio cable to connect and plugged it in and it worked. Used the tv menu to shut the other speakers off and control this with the tv remote. Works as advertised.

Bose never disappoints!
I bought this speaker for a projector but we are actually using it for our main TV. The price was great and it doesn’t take up a whole lot of room on our TV stand.The sound is noticeably better and the dialog is super clear. I am also able to connect my bluetooth headphones to the speaker which is great for when the kids are asleep.The speaker was very easy to connect right out of the box.My only complaint is that there is no visual indicator of the volume level on the TV itself.I would definitely recommend this speaker.

What a difference!!
This is a game changer. Watching movies at home was so annoying, always having to turn up the volume to hear the conversation and then turn it down for everything else. The sound is now even and so easy to hear and enjoy. High quality speaker. Easy to pair with the television. This was a gift for my husband that the whole family is enjoying. Great value too! Can’t go wrong with Bose. You won’t be disappointed.

Does a good job
I bought this to use in conjunction with a recently purchased Sony TV. Bose supplies an optical cable to connect to the TV, but this requires you to use the separate Bose remote to control the volume. I opted for the HDMI connection to the TV which allows you to use your TV remote to control the volume, as normal. You have to supply your own HDMI cable, which must include eARC or ARC designation to make this feature work. The unit’s “Dialog Mode” is very useful for late night viewing. It allows you to reduce your volume setting to not disturb other members of the household, while maintaining good intelligibility. At higher listening levels you’ll want to switch this feature off as it makes the sound very harsh. The Bose unit does not have an extra HDMI input, so it takes over the complete functionality of one of your TV’s HDMI inputs. My companion TV has four such inputs, so the lost functionality of one HDMI input is no great loss. Recommended.

Best Voice Enhancement
Bose and Sono brands are generally overpriced in my opinion but I’ve tried several sound bars in the past ten years and this sound bar is by far is the best for Voice enhancement and volume leveling at an affordable price.Since some reviews have mentioned issues with overheating I also purchased adhesive rubber feet to keep it off the furniture.I have not noticed any excessive heat issues so far.It’s so great watching tv without holding the remote to control the volume between programs and loud commercials.Also the voice enhancement is perfect.Now if you’re looking for a sound system mainly for music and loud thumping bass or loud realistic surround background sound this sound bar is not for you.

Bose is Best
The sound is absolutely fantastic. It’s small so it doesn’t take up much room. You cannot go wrong with Bose products. They never disappoint. My only complaint is the remote is extremely small and falls in between sofa cushions and gets lost frequently. Also you cannot see anything on the front of it. Not only do the buttons not light up. They are so faint, I struggle in the daytime seeing them. At night it’s absolutely impossible. I’ve had to memorize the three most important buttons, which is the power and the up-and-down volume button.

Almost great. But not.
First things first. The speaker sounds great. A genuine step up from the TV’s speaker.Now, for my rant. Bose has a reputation for quality (ignoring acoustic pseudo-imaging lore of old) and price (think Apple). These past two years I’ve purchased 4 Bose products. They’ve been largely as expected but NONE of them has been “what I expect from Bose” when it comes to attention to detail. Specifically, attention to detail when it comes to the software side of the house.This speaker failed (100%) to be discoverable when in Bluetooth discovery mode. I use an Android device AND a iPhone 11 (latest OS) and neither of those could “see / discover” the speaker. Nor could Bose’s own application (when on those devices). This is a first for me. BT discovery is ancient tech by now. Bose has no excuse for getting this wrong.My other Bose products (specifically my 900 series sound bar, not this one) can’t make it 6 months w/o needing a hard (unplug it from the wall) reset.If anyone at Bose is reading this, circle back around and re-work some of your software quality metrics. …cause you ain’t got ’em nailed, imo. Good, I suppose Fantastic, not even. I expect more.FWIW: This speaker requires a 3.5mm hard line to run a Bose subwoofer. One cannot use the wireless sub functionality at this level of product. I kind of expected that. It has a rather annoying bright white light when ON (which negatively competes with the TV experience). …a dim feature would be most welcome.

Clean sound
This speaker sounds clean and sharp for what it is. It is a small speaker with great clarity perfect for a bed room. It’s loud enough with great clarity for a small room or a studio apartment, it’s a single sound bar with no extra sub woofer which is fine i your streaming shows or your music pic from your phone. Love it. That being said this is not good for or intended for a large living room, theater room or a party speaker where you want super loud and bass heavy music.

Overheating/power issue
The Bose TV Speaker sounds wonderful….when it worked. It was easy to set up and if you use the HDMI ARC connection it will work with the TV remote. This was purchased before Christmas and worked get for a month. The last couple weeks it would not stay powered on. It would work for a few minutes then 2 white blinking lights would come on. Remote would not work when this was happing. I had to unplug it, plug back in and it would work for a few minutes then start the same white blinking lights. It was also very warm under the power control panel on the bottom. So I called Bose this morning. After 1.5 hours they are now replacing the speaker. They email a link for a UPS label to return the old speaker. So again, it sounded great but I only benefitted from the speaker for a month. Hopefully better luck with the replacement.

Good Sound but Inadequate Interfaces
The sound is nice and clear. The base is adequate for an apartment set up, you can feel the bass vibration (adjustable) but don’t expect it to be earth shattering. The Bose does not interface well with the Samsung TV, the auto on/off does not work consistently. The remote is subpar and difficult to use in the dark. The remote’s on/off button is not even color coded.

Easy to install
I am up in age, and speak 4 languages daily, the sounds on TV was not clear, part was I was not hearing the intonations, with Spanish, Danish, German and of course English nothing was quite clear. This little sound bar did the trick, easy to install (by myself) and best of all, it really work, easy on the wallet too. I definitely recommend it.

Great for it’s intended purpose
Let me start by saying that if you’re looking for ground-pounding bass and super high-quality using various Dolby platforms, this is NOT the soundbar for you. I’ve owned Bose soundbars back to the Solo 10 yrs ago and this is very similar. It’s perfect for a den, office, small TV room etc. The sound is incredible even at low volume. The best feature is the dialog enhancer. It enhances the dialog despite background noise. You can also connect a Bluetooth device to this unit. I have mine connected to eARC on my TV using HDMI but it also comes with an optical cable. However, it does not come with a HDMI table. This soundbar will really enhance your TV sound. I recommend it!

Bose but a little short for Bose
I’m a musician and have difficulty hearing speech on tv, so sound is very important to me. This does great for speaking frequencies. It’s missing the BASS. Comes up short there. Ear buds and portable speakers are also Bose, so I’m a solid fan. It’s just not the superior sound quality I’m used to from Bose.

Bose is know for their quality and this sound bar is spot on. The bar itself is nice and sleek and the sound is terrific. I didn’t realize how bad I needed one until I heard the sound for the first time.

Certainly worth the money
It did improve my TVs sound by 100% : D. I don’t use its remote much (only to turn it on and off). Everything else I use either the TV remote or the Cellphone app “ROKU TV”, which will “command” the sound bar. ( the sound bar becomes passive to the TV, so the volume control will come from the TV remote control OR it will come from the ROKU TV app on your cellphone.(tons of today’s smart TVs will have installed in it the ROKU TV app, which made things way much each in terms of connectivity. You just need to download the ROKU TV app onto your cellphone, and enjoy).the SOUND BAR becomes completely passive to the TV.

Good sound!
Sounds great, much better than the TV speakers, super easy plug and play setup, recommend using a HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on the TV, that lets you use the TV remote to control on/off and volume. Originally bought a refurbished one but had Bass vibrated/crackling, worth the extra money for a new one.

It’s a TV speaker
I would have bought something else more reasonably priced, but the height of this was important so as not to block the bottom of my TV screen. The sound is okay with adequate bass. I’d look elsewhere for value if soundbar height isn’t an issue for your TV. Also, there is no Dolby, DTS, or surround support.

Great Sound Quality
Overall I am quite pleased with this speaker. There is a lag in the bluetooth connection from the remote control so it took a bit for me to learn that I needed patience for the sound to connect but once I got used to the fact it wasn’t instant I am okay with it. This is the first soundbar I have ever owned and the Bose quality is very evident.

A really great soundbar!
Great sound! Sounds better than my Samsung soundbar that’s twice as big and cost twice a much. I bought the wall mount. In my home bar, I Have my Turntable connected to it via Bluetooth and my TV connected to it via Arc HDMI. Wireless Connected very quickly with no issues. The sound is incredible considering the size of this soundbar. Great bass. Remote works great and nice feature. Highly recommend this soundbar.

Great sound…when it works
I purchased my first in September of 2023, it worked for two weeks and then just stopped. Sound would turn on and off all on its own one day and then just wouldn’t power on at all. I sent it back for a replacement and have had it ever since. Until a few days ago when the replacement started to do the same thing. Contacted Bose and they were of no help and didn’t care to rectify the issue. It now sits in my garbage can. I’m would hate for someone else to throw away $250. Buyer beware

typical Bose sound quality – excellent
The setup took a couple of tries, but the third time was the charm. One thing I don’t like is that there isn’t a numerical sliding scale for the volume. It just goes up and down, and through my Cable providers remote as well. So, I only need the Bose remote to adjust the bass, which I don’t anticipate. It would be better if it was illuminated, but as I don’t use the provided remote it’s not that much of a problem. Overall, Very Good!

This is a perfect speaker for your TV especially if you have ARC technology on you TV.
I bought this speaker for my elderly father. He loves his Bose’s stereo so much that I knew he would like this Bose TV speaker. He was having a hard time hearing the voices on all of the TV programs and had to turn up the volume so loud… This speaker fixes the problem and with the ARC technology from the TV it works with the TV’s remote (Turning on/off, Volume up/down, and mute) as if was part of the original TV. I hooked it up with the supplied digital sound cable but I did have to buy a HDMI cable to be able to use the ARC technology.My Dad loves it…Just as good as his Bose Stereo and he can hear the people talking without turning up the volume…

Finally, a simple solution to the madhouse of audio alternatives for television
I had a Bose one piece sound system many years ago. Really enjoyed it. It eventually gave up so I started down the dark hole of soundbars. In about 10 years I’ve had 3 and with each one there was always something that wouldn’t sound right, mainly when someone talks and there’s music in the background, only the music that’s supposed to hang back instead blares like a foghorn and drowns out the dialogue. I have to admit the last one, a Vizio, soundbar only, no subwoofer or surround speakers, did it’s best to keep the dialogue to within reach. It’s main issue was it wouldn’t cooperate with a Vizio TV, wouldn’t maintain a setting if you had the ability to pay it. So, I’m back to the simple Bose TV Speaker. Ya got two settings, bass and dialogue. There are others but they don’t involve audio. It plugs into my Vizio TV via HDMI eARC (cable not included), but it does come with an optical cable and I plugged it in but isn’t required. ARC allows my TV remote and Fire Stick remote to control the soundbar volume which is the only thing you really need to control once you set the soundbar with it’s own remote to be controlled by other devices and the sound setting you like (your choice of two or both at the same time, why not go for it). I can hear music, I can hear voices, I can hear them both at the same time and anyone who says you need a small room to use it in is probably wanting more than the bar can deliver regarding audio. It’s plenty loud. Where I sit fairly far from the TV and the room is kind of open concept leading to not open concept, like rooms elsewhere. I can hear it through out the house. Good bass too. Okay I said two settings but the bass actually has 3 levels. The longest portion of the entire setup from unpacking to connection and listening was the unpacking. It’s packed pretty well. Good things come in small packages they say, this is one of them. I recommend this to anyone who doesn’t require sound bouncing from the holes in their shoes and from the coffee mug sitting beside them. It’s a great sounding speaker that removes the requirement of having to take a course or two in sound engineering and makes listening to TV simple and comfortable and enjoyable again, you don’t have to constantly change the audio settings to work with the video. It just works.

Not Worth It!!
This Bose TV Speaker has pretty good sound quality for the tv because it does sound better than the tv speakers and better volume and the speech is a little clearer, but that’s about as far as it goes.I purchased this sound bar after looking at many, but mostly because I have been a Bose fan for many decades and in the days of them becoming to where they are now everything was exceptional until I received this product.Bose dropped the ball on this one and seem to be living now off their name of top-quality products and service in the past and you know what starts to happen when you cut back on the quality, you start to lose your long time customers and no repurchase’s from most new ones so business starts to decline, and we all know what has happened to big companies in the past. You charge high dollars so put back in the quality you use too.For two days I have been trying to get a simple question answered from them and no response.After purchasing this product, I have come to realize the only subwoofer I can add to this sound bar which has poor bass, is programed only for their brand, and their cheapest woofer starting at $500.00 plus, that is ridicules.The Bluetooth is version is 4.2, that came out around 2011 or 12 so outdated, much cheaper brands even have the newer versions, heck the remote is not even Bluetooth! You have to make sure no other devices have Bluetooth on to connect to a single device you want par and listen two, a lot of others allow two at once so you can switch back and forth.There is absolutely no way to turn on or control the sound bar if you lose the remote, battery goes bad or if the remote goes bad, but we all know that does not happen now does it?For a 300-dollar soundbar especially from Bose I expected more, half was for the name and the other half for the actual worth of the unit and to get more bass I need to spend over $500.00 more when other top brand units come with a sound bar for under $300.00. I should be able to connect other subwoofer brands to this unit but from all my checking only a couple of people have gotten lucky, I have two and neither one will work with this unit when I connected them, so It’s kind of like I gotcha from Bose if you want to upgrade your sound bar for $500.00 plus more to Bose.Yes, looks like this one is going back to Bose.

For the size that this sound bar is, its more than you would ever need unless you’re setting up a mega theatre. The bass by itself is not quite substantial so I would recommend getting a sub to accompany. The sound bar should pair with your tv’s remote which is nice because I’m not fond of the separate remote that comes with it and is required to put the device into bluetooth mode.

Good sound, runs hot and turns off
We bought this Bose speaker to help with hearing voices clearly in movies and TV shows that include background noise or music. It arrived quickly, was very well packaged and easy to install. Sound is a definite improvement.After running it for a couple of hours, the green light went off, white light came on and sound shut off. The end of the speaker that houses the power supply was too hot to touch. We put two ceramic coasters under the speaker to keep the heat away from the cabinet it sits on. After it cooled down, it worked fine. Then it overheated and shut down. This repeated over several days. Frustrating.Husband removed the cover over the power supply, exposing it, and set the speaker upside down to give it more exposure to the air. (There are no air holes and no fan to keep the electronics cool enough to function.) We ran it for several hours and voila – no overheating or shut down. He reinstalled the cover on pegs that allow airflow. We considered sending it back, but reviews of other similar products by other manufacturers note overheating as a problem with these lower end speakers. This solution will work for us but buyer beware!
