Great all around outdoors watch was what I was looking for

The watch is what it says it is and then some. The battery life is really great for a smart watch. I don’t really use it for running or anything working out but am a big outdoorsman with hiking and working dog and tracking them on my other Garmin devices. To have the ability to watch the weather change, and have the access to the topographical maps and then be able to actually view the dogs on it when I’m working K9 just simplifies everything for me to stay focused on my task on hand. I have had Apple Watches in the past and they were ok this is a comfortable watch to wear even to sleep in. Which is great because it runs a sleeping monitor to let you know your progress one of the big things that I was tossed up on was if the 7X was going to be too large for my wrist it’s not and I’m not a big guy with big arms average build. And to have the flashlight feature on it is excellent for me I use it quite regularly I would compare it to wearing an average headlamp for brightness more then you would expect from a watch. For me that is huge I can be running at night though the woods with a dog in harness and don’t have to worry about fiddling around with a flashlight is much more convenient than I thought it would be. So I only have this watch very short time. I’m very satisfied with it and I’m not great with high tech type stuff and this watch is easy enough for me to maneuver around I can turn the touchscreen on and off if I need it, which is a really nice feature.

    My wife loves it

She was on a Fenix 6 Pro solar large size. She didn’t complain about wearing the hockey puck but I wanted to do something nice for her. She really loves the smaller size and the color and everything. Keep in mind the smaller the watch the less time a battery lasts. The Fenix 7x pro solar lasts me 27 days but the small will only last about 14.

    Interesting stats

Out of the box it’s really old firmware so you can’t load new apps. The update on mine didn’t work over wireless which required a Mac or Windows PC to complete. Not the biggest issue but horrible uninformative update process though it failed the first time, had to unplug it to start the update process despite the update saying keep plugged in at all times.Pros//The GPS is accurate far more accurate then most phones with assisted GPS.Long battery life.Sleep report is nice.Does not require the use of a stupid account it works by its self! Create account load apps you want, discount and it works minus weather.\Cons//Heart rate monitor is highly questionable.Step counter is a laugh, fitbits are far more accurate.Surprisingly heavy but not bad.\Overall it’s a true offline device which is a huge welcome. No BS data leak risk no mobile data leaks just a simple easy self contained advanced watch. No BS subscription required. Price is rather high but for a device with GPS and maps that work were phones don’t and with maps that don’t spam ads at you “Google maps”.

Great watch for serious sport lovers

The watch itself is great with all its premium features. Top-notch gps, new heart rate sensors. I read it somewhere else that the garmin watch is not a gadget, it is a tool. Indeed it is. It gives you extra motivation to wake up in the morning and keep doing what you are doing best. What I didn’t like was the packaging. It arrived non-sealed and a bit crushed. For $900 watch you expect it to be wrapped more carefully and solidly. Even my energy gels are wrapped better than this.

The Fenix series is my fave. I run, hike in the mountains, road cycle and mtb. The forerunner is also great, but I wouldn’t want to crash with it on my MTB. Fenix does everything you could want and you get the best training feedback from the Garmin app. Battery is great, loads of customization, easy to set up and use. Other brands like Coros, Polar and Suunto don’t even come close.

Disappointing. Lousy watch faces, lousy battery life, terrible companion software.

I wanted to love this watch. I’ve worn a Forerunner 935 for the last couple of years and was hoping that the smaller form factor 7S Fenix would be similar. I am a fireman, and while the flashlight is a gimmick for most people I was actually extremely excited for this feature as well. I went with the pro, sapphire, solar model with all the bells and whistles.Out of the box:- The strap on the S is tiny. I’m not Andre the Giant, I’m an average sized guy with normal wrists. I know this is the smaller “S” model, but I’ve attached a picture to show just how much smaller it is than the standard strap on a Forerunner. The strap on this is TINY. Fortunately, Garmin has one that you can buy that easily swaps out for a normal one. It’s the same rubber strap, just bigger. Unfortunately it is FIFTY DOLLARS. For a watch strap.- I bought a new strap, because I wanted to be able to actually wear my $750 watch. While I waited for it to show up, I opted to update the maps and firmware with Garmin Express, the software they make you install if you want to use a computer (in my case, an $18,000 Mac Pro) to update it. I have been using Garmin products and running with their watches for about 12 years now. Many moons ago I had an ugly orange Garmin watch that used ANT+ to connect via Garmin Express. Back then, it was terrible and i thought “wow, this software is hot garbage”. It’s now 12 years later and I was 0/6 in trying to update the maps on my brand new $750 fenix. Express inexplicably hangs, crashes, disconnects from the device or makes the watch reboot. I tried a different cable. I tried a different computer. Here I am, 12 years later, once again saying “wow, this software is hot garbage”.- The flashlight is cool. I would probably keep this weirdly uncomfortable, hilariously expensive thing if not for the fact that it’s in the wrong place. The beam comes out along the band a 12:00, and if you’re walking somewhere at night, stick your arm out and imagine how you’d want to direct a beam of light. It’s definitely not going to be “I want to hold my hand sideways across my chest”. The 3:00 position is where every normal person wants the light to come out, because it’s where your hand is pointing. If you’re using a tool, pointing at someone, or reaching for a dark doorknob, the 3:00 position is the front of your arm where you want the light. This thing illuminates in the wrong direction, and that makes it almost useless.Less important, but I’ve attached a pic of the watch face Garmin sells you vs. how it looks on the watch. In the ConnectIQ store (full of paid watch faces that I can’t imagine anyone ever buying) the faces look crisp and sharp. Deep blacks on rich blues. I’ve attached an example – the mock-ups in the CIQ store look nothing like they do on the watch. the watch display is completely washed out and hard to read at any brightness level because the blacks are more like grays.I wanted to like this watch really badly. I don’t even care about the price, the features would be worth it if they worked as advertised and if they put the flashlight in the correct spot. Unfortunately the watch faces are underwhelming, the flashlight is a gimmick and Garmin Express Is Still A Hot Mess. I ended up returning it, and the $50 strap that showed up after i already decided that the watch wasn’t for me.

    It was worth the upgrade

I had the Fenix 6 pro but the battery life was getting shorter all the time (with each update)… Anyway, there were a few features that caught my eye and I decided to upgrade. Was definitely worth it for me.

    Better than Apple Watch!

I recently made the switch from my Apple Watch to the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro 47mm, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with this sports watch. The Fenix 7 Pro offers a wide range of features and excels in terms of sport and health data, making it a superior choice for fitness enthusiasts. One standout feature of the Fenix 7 Pro is its brilliant MIP screen, which shines brightly in outdoor environments, especially under the sun. However, I did find it a bit challenging to view the screen indoors or in shady areas, necessitating the use of the backlight. Nevertheless, this minor inconvenience doesn’t overshadow the watch’s overall performance.Battery life is another area where the Fenix 7 Pro excels. Even with minimal notifications and SpO2 disabled (which was advertised to extend battery life to 18 days), the watch easily lasts for a week. Although it didn’t meet the advertised duration in my experience, I plan to reach out to Amazon support to inquire if my unit has any specific issues. While the Fenix 7 Pro offers solar charging capability, I personally found it to be of limited use unless you’re engaging in prolonged outdoor activities under direct sunlight. For everyday use, the standard battery life suffices. In summary, the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro 47mm is an excellent sports watch, especially if you prioritize a longer battery life over a high-resolution display. If you prefer a shiny display, you may want to consider the Epix, but keep in mind that it comes at the cost of reduced battery life. Overall, I highly recommend the Fenix 7 Pro for its impressive features, durability, and exceptional performance in tracking sport and health data.Reducing one star as I need to charge twice in 2 weeks time. But as mentioned will contact Amazon for this issue. You

I used to have another brand smart watch, actually I used a Garmin 530 to measure my cycling activities. But since I’m using the Fenix 7 Pro, it’s seems quite good, because it’s very complete. Now I even sleep with the watch

    Looks Graceful and Elegant

So far impressive.. got this in a discounted price on Black friday. Upgraded version to my Instinct solar. Digital clock faces and display are bright enough in every angle. Plenty of exciting fratures like Map, Navigation and on top of all long battery life. Touch screen is a plus and handy when you are in a hurry.Cons:You need to download multiple apps to sync, upgrade , download watch faces. A single app could save a lot of time and efforts.

    Great watch…wait for a sale.

I’m a long time Fenix owner, versions 2-6 solar and love the watches. The biggest advantage to the Fenix 7 is the long battery life which continues to amaze me. And the updates to the solar functioning appears to very good. That said, it’s a lot to pay for so wait until it goes on sale and try it for 30 days so that you know how it benefits you.

Like the title says, I spent $1k on a very nice Garmin watch, have had Garmins for years always happy. The Connect app is great, great data and insights. BUT, the button stopped working and I have to send in to Garmin to get replaced – good customer service.

Gramin fenix 7x vs fenix 7x pro

Look I bought the Garmin fenix 7x sapphire solar and Immediately upon setting it up I was disappointed with very two crucial things: it wouldn’t take your heart rate if worn on the interior of your wrist and the screen light had to be turned on every time you looked at the screen because the screen was so dark. The advertisements for these watchfaces are misleading, they show you a rich colorful environment like an OLED screen but that’s not at all what it’s like on the original Garmin 7x. Upon pressing any button on the Garmin 7x pro it immediately lights up so there’s no need to be worrying about viewing angles or it not taking your heart rate because it’s on the inside of your wrist. The battery life is also marginally better, is it worth the extra scratch? Depends on how good your site is. If you don’t mind having a very dull screen and want to wear the watch on the exterior of your wrist then go with the Garmin 7x but if you want it to light up and you’d prefer to wear on on the inside of your wrist so it doesn’t get caught on EVERY LITTLE THING then I’d go with the pro.

the screen is much better than the 7x sapphire solar (non-pro)

I just bought the 7x non-pro sapphire about a week ago on sale. Well we know why the sale existed because the Pro just came out. I just got the pro today – thank you Amazon for great return policy and having this in stock fresh after the Garmin announcement!I was always a little frustrated with the 7x screen – seemed muted, colors seemed soft and the backlight seemed like a compromise for having a MIPS display. The 7x Sapphire Pro is SOOOO much better. . . colors pop now, the muted somewhat foggy appearance is gone and better yet I can read it pretty well indoors without the backlight now at my work desk! That alone is a big improvement to me. . (worth $200 difference in price) it is very hard to see it in pictures, but it is legit. Actually the backlight looks good too – really nice contrast now. the titanium DLC grey looks a tad bit lighter in color than the 7x – but looks great.I refused to consider the Epix pro 51- i had the epix gen 2 for a little while – I do not like the Apple like bright display . . almost garish I am so happy the 7x pro is here . . improved screen made my day!

    Cheep looking but functional tool

Did my research about smart watches and decided to buy one. I had Apple Watch before and I didn’t like it because any Apple Watch look like toy also being square. I love round watches. Another minus was battery. Having long battery life and watch looks like a watch not a toy.( like a apple watch). These were the main reason why I bought it. Ordered and received on time, when i got package I thought nothing inside.Bad Side of the watch.1.Watch is very light.2.Poor packaging for $800 watch.3.Very cheep cardboard box which give me bad impression.4. On the description mentioned as colorful screen. It is colored but faded. Images are not clean or sharp, pixels are visible.Good Side of the watch.1. Everything is functional2. Feels durable

    This is a heavy watch

I like to backpack long distances and am both weight and power sensitive when it comes to devices. This watch has a nice display and if it wasn’t so heavy, I’d probably take the time to figure out more of the user interface, but after 1 day of fussing with it and seeing how much power it was using, I decided that the Instinct 2X solar was a better match for me. If I need maps or music, I’ll invoke the cell phone. Now, if it could replace the cell phone altogether…. That would justify a bit more weight. Maybe someday.

    Nice Upgrade

I upgraded from my seven year old Fenix 5. That watch is great, but I was ready for a more accurate heart rate sensor, better GPS accuracy, and new technology that wasn’t available in 2017. The 7x Pro is a good upgrade and I got exactly what I wanted. Of course I wish the price was less, but that’s my thought on almost everything today.

    Best Smart Watch

Finally a smart watch with all the health, navigation, and connectivity that lasts over 8 days! It does lack the ability to use as a standalone phone but I never needed that option with my other watches. It does connect to my phone and passes notifications through but does not allow for phone calls through Bluetooth or if it does I haven’t figured that option out. Having the health data exceeds my fitbit and Samsung. The price is high and that part sucks

    Inaccurate HR sensor

If you are hoping this HR sensor is more accurate than previous models you will be disappointed! The HR sensor takes on a life of its own and runs wild. My Fenix 6X is more accurate than this one, while walking it’s says my HR jumps to above 160 BPM!The rest of the features are amazingly nice and convenient, I’m glad the touch screen is back.

    Major Upgrade over Forerunner 945

Been using Forerunner 945 since 2019. Great watch. Upgraded to this Fenix.Things I like about Fenix over Forerunner: Bigger screen. Batter life, charge ever 25ish days vs weekly. Extra insights like training readiness, endurance, HRV, training status enhancements, touch screen, the flash light is a major win.Things I like about the Forerunner over the Fenix: Cost.I honestly didn’t know the Fenix was so much better than the Forerunner when I bought it. Kind of bought it somewhat impulsively. For me, the Fenix is superior in virtually every way over the Forerunner. The extra cost, again, for me, is worth the upgrade. If you don’t care about the extra data, bigger screen, touch screen, flashlight than get the Forerunner because everything else is virtually the same.

    Screen resolution dim

I was coming from an older apple watch. I figured with this being 5/6 years newer the screen resolution would be superior, it was not. The screen was dim, and the basic watch function was hard to read unless the screen was touched to “wake up”. I also found the numerous buttons for forward, backward and select to navigate the menu cumbersome and confusing. I am a runner and that was my main focus of using this watch. There was constant vibrating and noises causing me to keep looking down. I could have given this more patience, but I just want to run and track the data, not have such an interactive experience.I found the app really comprehensive, sleep tracking, all sorts of health data and that was enjoyable.I think if you are coming from a Garmin and upgrading, this is probably great. I think the apple watch ultra is a better option if you are already on that path.

Great Watch, But Be Aware Of The Type Of Screen You’re Getting!!!

As a long-time Samsung Galaxy Watch user who also does a decent amount of outdoor activities, I was excited to try the Fenix. The watch itself is very high quality, and the fitness tracking and health tracking are very good! That said, I was paying too much attention to the exciting solar features, and not enough to the type of screen it uses. This is a TRANSFLECTIVE screen, NOT an OMELED screen like other smart watches. When I first received it, I was shocked with how dim the display is and how washed out the colors are, and then after days of playing with settings with not much luck, I finally realized why – it only supports showing a very limited selection of colors, so high quality images are a no-go, and indoors the display looks rather bad to someone coming from another smart watch. I tried to like it and get used to it, but ultimately I just couldn’t deal with how washed out and dim everything looked, so I returned it for the Garmin Epix 2 Pro, which is basically the same watch but with an AMOLED full-color screen, and no solar. That watch has almost the same rated battery life, so I gladly gave up the solar gimmick for a decent screen. Now, if you spend most of your days in bright sun conditions, maybe you prefer the Fenix screen since it’s slightly easier to see outdoors in direct sun, but if you are looking for more of a smart watch experience and rely on notifications from your phone and want your watch faces to look decent, you may want to consider the Epix, which I can still see just fine outdoors. And speaking of phone integration, I’ll say that it does send you phone notifications, but the tight integration coming from a Samsung phone and Samsung watch just isn’t there. For example, you’ll get a large-font (almost too large) notification mirrored from your phone, but can’t do anything with it other than dismiss it. And if your phone alarm goes off, you can’t snooze or turn it off from your watch, or reply to messages. Based on that, I’m actually considering going back to the Samsung watch, I absolutely love the Garmin if not for needing better phone integration since I spend equal time indoors and want to be able to receive and respond to phone alerts without getting my phone out, and the Samsung health & fitness sensors are still pretty decent, even if slightly behind Garmin.Hope that info helps you make an educated choice on which watch is best for you, depending on your use scenario!

    Best Garmin watch

I have to say the flashlight is the most important update compared to Fenix 7 🙂 It eliminates the need to grab my phone when walking downstairs without wanting to turn on the lights. Additionally, it offers a much more accurate heart rate reading than before, thanks to the additional heart rate monitor. For runners unconcerned with minor variances (± 3) like me, there’s no need to spend extra on an HRM Pro Plus. It’s also extremely effective as a smartwatch, not just a sports watch. You can use it to monitor almost any factor you can think about.

    Awesome upgrade from Vivoactive 3

Just got this watch this morning. Upgraded from Vivoactive 3 which I had owned for 4 years and battery life was such that workouts past 2 hours in GPS mode were risky in terms of battery drain. Was still getting 4 days smartwatch mode and that was fantastic but starting to do longer bike rides, the watch went on sale, and decided to go for it.Switching from one watch to the other in Garmin connect was trivial. I just powered down the Vivoactive 3 and added this to my iphone with bluetooth paring and selected it in the connect app.So much more data!Fits nicely, its a bit thicker than the Vivoactive 3 but honestly, wearing it is no different. I don’t have giant wrists, so if you are concerned about size being a bit much, don’t.The connect app adapted to its features so new things like body battery and vo2 were automatically there.Took a quick walk (2 miles) and nice thing is it showed aerobic zones around the edge of the display.Buttons are logical, was easy to start and stop activity. Not as simple as Vivoactive 3 was but certain I will adapt. After all, I have 4 years with thousands of miles of cycling logged from my Vivoactive 3. Garmin really earned my trust with the Vivoactive 3 (given that, I would recommend the Vivoactive 5 if you are looking for a very capable watch for exercise and health monitoring). The Fenix 7 is probably more watch than I need, but I am excited to bring in more of its features into my routine, and see what kind of scores and feedback it tells me as a regular cyclist (I’ve done minimum 1000 miles for the past 12 years, and I am in my 60s).

What an upgrade from my Fenix 3 HR!

This watch, if you are similar with fenix and thier display type is absolutely an amazing upgrade from my Fenix 3 HR. 20+ days with pulse Ox on at sleep time. Touch screen and far easier to read whole messages. ECG to check occasional aFib. Garmin renown tracking! Connected to Stages bike trainer just by selecting indoor bike ride.Unrelated to the watch, the only thing I would love to see in the app is a way to rearrange the My Day – Add Data items, need to track blood pressure and weight which BP is only available on this when My Day is collapsed. Not terrible just would love the flexibility like so many other areas. If you’re on the fence, you won’t be disappointed. If you are coming from other brands I recommend finding a Best Buy to check out the screen type in person, might not be for everyone but the battery life trade off of weeks versus 1-2 days is huge as I wear this at all times. You lose data when you have to put a watch in the charger every day, ick, no thanks.

Works great! Happy I upgraded from the Fenix 5S.

Works great! Happy I upgraded from the Fenix 5S to the 7S and I debated for awhile. The price is high but I would recommend this watch to other fitness enthusiasts who like stats!

    Nice

I love the battery life- wow! Never had a smart watch with such a long battery life. I hope this doesn’t change. However, I’m seeing the watch scratching a lot, and I thought the titanium is supposed to be harder to scratch. Abit disappointed.

Incredible! With let down…. actually 4.5

Firstly i got this at 27% off on black Friday to replace my Fenix 5x saphire. In comparison the 7p weight seems like half compared to the 5xs, the flashlight is as bright as an average headlamp the red light is a nice touch too if your military. I will say I bought this for 3 main reasons and one was an epic fail! first and main flashlight, secondly downloadable Playlists so I don’t have to take my phone when I run, 3rd was the massive let down which I will contact garmin about… the tap to pay only works with certain banks unlike any tap to pay on any phone…. I have four banks accounts and 3 credit cards not a single one would link absolutely ridiculous! Your bank has to be enrolled in garmin pay.

Es el tercer reloj GArmin que compro y me gusta mucho la marca. No le puse 5 porque me parece un poquito robusto, ya se que me dirian que es por todo lo que hace y demas pero seria deseable que fuera un poco mas plano

If you love data, you’ll love this watch

I’m not a super athlete, just a 60+ year old woman who wants to stay fit and healthy as long as I can. I’ve worn health trackers for the last 10 years including Fitbit and Oura. This watch is the best so far. It provides data during exercise, sleep and general daily activities. The sleep data is very close to the Oura ring. The steps, walking and hiking is more accurate since it’s using GPS. It quantifies the intensity of your activity so you can try to push thru your previous records. It provides your heart rate and a spot EKG. I just recently bought the Garmin scale so I can track how exercise will affect body composition. Everything I’ve mentioned so far is just an intro to what this watch does. It is large but it’s light in weight. It charges fast, I just charge when I shower to keep it topped off but the battery can last up to 14 days. The only down side I had was during a session where I was painting walls. I tried to cover it to protect it from paint but that is hard to do, so I took it off. Other than that, it’s supposedly suitable for almost any activity

Very motivating to be more active. Love the battery life

I really like that this is a nice watch that lasts 20+ days (I use the GPS navigation maps for custom courses I made a few times during a charge and that drains the battery a lot)I like how it is not bright on the face of the screen and barely noticeable. I can turn on the backlight if needed. Very discrete.I track my workouts too. I will quickly add the strength activity and easily put the weight and reps. It will automatically know what kind of muscles it is hitting based on the rotation movement, and direction. Later I can manually update the details in the phone app to make it more clear. This is a fantastic device to help people who overthink get into shape.

    Awesome watch

Great watch for athletic parents. Garmin makes great products. They won me over with the instinct 2 so I wanted to upgrade to a bigger and more sophisticated watch. What I love about the watch is being able to view all the information on the watch without having to use my phone. I purchased it on sale and it’s definitely worth the price. Again, excellent quality and has motivated me even more to stay active. The flashlight is awesome, too.

    Very satisfied

I bought this watch to replace my Samsung Galaxy 4 watch. The battery life is enormous. With normal use, it’ll last maybe 2-3 weeks. I’m not that active of a person. I’m actually probably not the audience this watch is geared towards but I got it anyways bc I wanted a smart watch that would have a charge lasting more than a day.It does exactly what I want, lasts more than a day. Nice big display.I don’t like that the display isn’t super bright. However, I actually bought the Forerunner 965 to try out. The interfaces were almost the same, except the Forerunner was more beautiful. When I move my hand to look at the time though, bc the Fenix is a MIP display, it is truly always on. I can at least see it. The forerunner though would be off, sometimes wouldn’t turn on unless I wiggles my wrist a smidge. It’s something little, I know. But, for my needs (I work in a hospital, sometimes get blood or other patient biohazardous fluids on it during procedures), it works great. I can wash it very very thoroughly. If it can survive 5ATM of pressure it can definitely handle a thorough cleaning. The band that came with it is nice. I usually losen it one or two notches overnight. The sleep tracking, which is not the primary purpose of the watch, is pretty good. I think my old Fitbit Charge 3 was more accurate for sleep timings than Samsung Galaxy 4…. And that was more accurate than the Fenix. But overall, good enough for my needs. It doesn’t keep track of naps though. Supposedly there is an update coming soon to fix that. The brightness could be better BUT in direct sunlight I can definitely read it.The built in flashlight is clutch. I love that feature. I don’t remember the Forerunner 965 having it but I tried both simultaneously for a week and might have just forgotten.Location is extremely accurate for me. No issues. I only used it near my house. Primarily to track my location to send to wife in case of medical emergencies while walking. Very very happy with it.Again, my use case is slightly different than the typical for the audience this is meant for. I’m not a health fanatic. Just an average person. I walk maybe 2-3 miles a day. I don’t go on mountain trails that often. I don’t go biking. So I can’t really comment on that stuff.

Best health and fitness watch on the market

I decided to get the Fenix over the Epix because I’ve got several long multi-day bikepacking and road touring events planned this year. The solar charging and longer battery life were the main selling points for me. I’ve noticed no issues with screen viewing outside so far. Also love the iPhone integration and integration with Strava, MapMyRide and Komoot, which I use for different types of cycling activities.Last, the smartwatch does a great job tracking other workouts such as pushups and situps and transferring the data to MapMyFitness.Best electronics purchase I’ve made this year!

    Excellent.

I’m very impressed with this watch and with Garmin. The app and features of the watch are very well thought out…whatever ‘feature’ I thought should be there is there and more. Very beneficial in that it causes one to focus on health and provides the means to do so intelligently and extensive data.

Fitness Tracker with limited “Smart Watch” Functions

The media could not be loaded.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love this watch. The battery life, the size, the style, even the built in light; normally not a big fan of built in lights on things because I think it makes something awesome seem like a cheap gemic but Garmin did it very well.If all you want are notifications, time, fitness tracker, gps, and weather it’s an amazing watch but it’s lacking the functionality of other mainstream smart watches.I would recommend this watch to someone who doesn’t want to pull out their phone for every little notification but you’re still going to need to pull your phone out to respond to most things other than some customizable prewriten texts.I also really like the body battery and helps me understand the way I feel throughout the day according to my sleep. It’s helped me get in bed earlier than normal.Love everything about this watch minus the functionality I was really looking for in a smart watch. I want something I can do nearly everything on rather than pulling out my phone constantly but I guess that is not where this watch is geared toward. Would be awsome for out in the woods hiking and working out but I want those in addition to those functions.Great quality, ruggedness, style (both on the trail and at events), comfortable (I used to wrar my watch on my right hand although I amd right handed but the buttons make this watch uncomfortable to wear on your right hand. Left is much more comfortable).

    Large 51mm,long lasting watch

I bought for everything but sports. Don’t like rechargeing every night or couple of nights . Kinda defeats sleep tracking .ECG because I’m over 60 . Mapping just in case . Solar recharge, because if you don’t get it really hot ,battery will last longer than plugged in charging which heats it internally. Every so often when I’m working inside I put under light therapy lamp with fan on it to keep it cool. Big display because I don’t always wear my glasses, they screw up my night vision. Granted if it was any bigger I would have to get somebody else’s ARM!

All around exercise, outdoor, trainer on your wrist.

What can I say, Garmin knows what they are doing. This is more than a watch, it’s an all around health guru lifestyle training aid that you need in your life. For me, one of the most awesome features is the ability to track my sleep quality. One of the hardest things in life it appears is a good sleep regimen. This will enable you to track all aspects of your sleep, from wake, deep, restless, rem and light, it covers it all. Factor this with your heart rate, stress levels and activities, it’s an all around health guru on your wrist. There are so many other features that you can research on your own for your own needs, I just wanted to hit the one that meant the most to me. Oh, and the solar charging feature is pretty awesome as well.My one complaint is that they need to open their options for linking equipment. We have an Etekcity scale and the watch will only recognize a Garmin scale. We would have purchased the Garmin scale, however, they are not accurate.

    From apple watch to this

I had a series 2 apple watch since release and went back to android phone so I wanted to make a wearable switch to. And being military I figured I’d give this a try and man was it worth it! It’s going ti be very helpful for me for many things! To work outs and do field ops this watch is more than a watch. If you are thinking about getting this just do it. Won’t regret it.
