Watch looks more rose gold in person
A good fitness watch but looks wise, this watch looks more rose gold than pictured in the images. Was hoping the watch face would be more yellow gold than rose gold

So great! Samsung has some catching up
I’m in love. Not only does this thing last forever! Talking 10 day average with notifications, and constant monitoring…but it auto adjusts goals based on previous days activities! I haven’t even cracked the code on all the other workout features but already super impressed!

Misses first 2 hours of sleep.
Fitness stats very interesting. Body battery, etc.Auto sleep tracking misses first 1 – 3 hours of sleep. I do wake up frequently.I had used a Fitbit Versa 2 whose auto sleep tracking also missed sleep, but let me enter sleep start time and wake up time.Display is great. Lots of on watch stats. Great battery life. 10 days.Does not require a subscription to access advanced stats.

Beautiful watch
This is a beautiful lifestyle fitness watch. The screen is incredible and vibrant, even in the sun you can still see the screen clearly. I have my watch take pulse ox hourly, and the battery life is still long. The Vivoactive 5 tracks naps, has a sleep coach, gives you morning reports and reports on your stress. You can view graphs and stats directly from the watch, so I don’t even use the Connect app much. The Connect app is completely free, which is one of the reasons why I purchased a Garmin watch. No more paying a hefty fee to use all the features of your watch. You My only problem is with the charger, the connection to the watch isn’t the best.

Comfortable, stylish watch with great new fitness features
This watch hits the sweet spot in terms of providing lots of great health analytics (e.g. body battery, sleep score, stress, etc.) while not being as overwhelming (and huge!) as some of the more fancy Garmin watches. The screen and UI is really nicely done.

Fitbit replacement
I’ve been using Fitbit for several years, and the 4th generation watch I bought is falling apart, and its battery life is dropping after just two years. I am trying Garmin this time. So far, the Garmin watch I purchased has more features and a better display. The battery life was stated at 11 days. This one will likely reach 8 or 9 since Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled. So far, so good.

Company updates can be a pain
Overall, this watch is everything Apple should be! It does great at tracking sleep patterns, heart rate, and the customization is perfect for the very-active to lounger. The one drawback is the random shutdowns and the process to get the watch to turn back out. It seems like a software issue with Garmin, that hopefully, they’re working on a patch for.

Love this watch
This is my first fitness watch and now I can see why people do get a fitness tracking watch. Being able to download or create your own workouts through the Garmin Connect app really makes this a 5 star for me although probably not exclusive to this watch it adds soo much value for me.

vivoactive 5…after 1 month
This was my first fitness/health watch and I decided to go with a Garmin due to a strong reputation and a large number of people at my gym who use one. Overall, they sounded happy so I decided to purchase one. Choosing which Garmin was a bit confusing given the number of options, capabilities, etc. I am a Crossfitter that also does some running to add variety to my workouts. I occasionally do 5K’s and even a few Spartan events each year. Having worn the vivoactive 5 for one month I do like it. It was a price point I was comfortable with, that allow me to determine what features I actually use and which ones I don’t. If I like it, I’ll likely upgrade in a few years and have a better feel for what I may need. The main downside is that this is not a “running” watch. Features like maps, turn-by-turn directions, and pace pro don’t download to the watch. You can get good insights after your runs, but don’t expect this watch to offer the higher end running features during runs. I wasn’t totally clear on that when I purchased this watch, but since running is a fraction of my workouts, I’m working around it. If you are a serious runner, then the vivoactive 5 is not for you…go with a Forerunner model. I hope this review helps 🙂

Love watch, charger broke within a month
I am fairly new to this watch. I have had it for around 3 weeks. I purchased it bc I was sick of my fitbit devices dying after 1-1.5yrs. I am hoping this will last longer. Unfortunately the charger has already broken and battery life is not 11 days. I love that it tracks my sleep, sleep quality, steps, water intake, and pulse. I haven’t figured out the stress gauge as even on Xmas vacation I am considered “stressed.” I did like that my fitbit had preset responses for text messages. (I havent figured out if I can get my texts on this device but that isnot a deal breaker for me.) After being without a fitness watch for an extended time period I am thankful to have one again and love the replaceable wrist bands as silicone always results in rashes but the metal bands are great.

Overall great watch
I wore it hand to hand with Samsung 6 watch and the readings were pretty much the same! The difference was just about 50 steps or 100 calories which makes me confident in both watches but I choose Garmin for personal convenience. It syncs with my calorie tracking app and its 100 bucks cheaper so I got the winner:) the battery life is amazing too ,after a whole week it shows 50% battery left! The only downside is that it doesn’t track calories .I would ideally like my tracker to calculate the deficit between cals in and out which I know fitbit does. I highly recommend this watch.

I think I like the Apple Watch better?
I wanted to love this watch. It was beautiful and there were things I loved about it – the sleep tracking and the BATTERY 😍 but the more I used it, I kept finding that I missed my Apple Watch. The Garmin kept disconnecting from my phone so I wasn’t regularly getting my notifications and it gave me a rash on my wrist that still hasn’t gone away.

Love it
I’ve had this watch for a couple of months now and it’s perfect for what I want a smart watch for. I had an Apple Watch as my first smart watch. I found myself not really using or liking all the extra features. I began looking for a smart watch with a good battery that was customizable. I happened upon Garmin and tried out the Vivoactive 4. The battery was fantastic but the screen was a bit dark. A couple months ago I ran across the Vivoactive 5 and saw they had updated the screen to OLED. The 4 was dependable so upgrading to the 5 was a no brainer. There’s so many faces to choose from and it has a really great battery too! I really like it. Thanks Garmin!!

Nice athletic watch, but like FB, unreliable wrist pulse readings
Has everything I was looking for in a watch to monitor my exercise and sleep cycles. Unfortunately, pulse readings from my wrist are often way off. I usually wear a chest strap when I exercise that’s very reliable and accurate. Then I can compare it to the Garmin’s pulse reading. Today on my elliptical, I was at 125bpm according to my strap. Garmin said 168bpm! NOPE!Also, the charging cable that came with the box was incorrect. I had to buy the correct cable from Amazon, 2 for $8. Their tech support was absolutely USELESS!I can compare it only to a FBsense. They both have the wrist/pulse mis-reading problem. Otherwise, they’re both good watches.

Love wearing this
I like this Garmin a lot. I love the beautiful colors that come with the watch faces, and then I can change the watch faces anytime I want .In the past I have bought Fitbit. I got tired of buying a Fitbit once a year. They don’t last very long and there’s always something wrong with it.

Big switch/upgrade from Vivoactive 3
Looks nice, feels good. Very different from the 3. I had a hard time figuring it out lol. It’s bright and beautiful. Nice features. You have to use the buttons to confirm changes. Like the interface after I figured it out. The only manual is online, nothing included in the box. Battery life is excellent! Just have patience when you’re setting it up, it takes over an hour to update initially and you can’t set anything up until it’s done.

Major upgrade over Vivoactive 4S
Fit: I have very small wrists – about 6.25” circumference – especially for a guy. I was initially concerned that the larger face versus the Vivoactive 4S might look clunky. But it is thinner and sits closer on the wrist, so it’s actually better. Sleeves don’t catch as easily and it’s very comfortable.Display: The AMOLED display is sharp and vibrant – very easy to read. I like that I can set it to stay on all the time so that I can glance at the time like a regular watch. In low power mode the watch face is still very clear.Features: Sleep tracking is as good as the Fitbit I used to have, maybe better. Fitness tracking and activities are easy to use and seem quite accurate. Heart rate monitoring accuracy is reasonably close to the Polar chest strap.Battery life: I charge it every few days, and I don’t think it has ever gone below 45%. Usually on the second or third day, it’s around 60% or 70%. With the display always on and other features active, I don’t think I’d get 11 days between charges, but that rating assumes you’re just in smart watch mode all the time. Battery life is more than adequate.Overall, a very good smart watch/fitness monitor. I like simple, straightforward design and features, and this one is great!

A Fitness Companion that Exceeds Expectations!
Well it is finally charging day so a great time to leave my review for my Vivoactive 😁I’ve been using the Garmin Vivoactive 5 for a while now, and it has truly exceeded my expectations in several key areas. One of the standout features for me is the impressive battery life. It’s amazing not having to worry about constant charging, especially during long workouts or busy days. The comfort and lightness of the watch make it a joy to wear all day. It’s so lightweight that I often forget I have it on. The design is sleek and minimal, adding to the overall comfort and making it suitable for any occasion.Ease of use is another big win for the Vivoactive 5. Navigating through the menus and accessing different features is incredibly intuitive. Even the built-in coach feature, although I haven’t explored it fully yet, adds another layer of functionality that I’m excited to try in the future. The activity and sleep tracking capabilities have been a game-changer for me. It’s like having a personal assistant dedicated to my health and fitness goals. I particularly appreciate the accurate rep count during workouts – it’s a small detail that makes a big difference in my training routine. One aspect that sets this model apart for me is the absence of calls and texts. It helps me stay focused on my activities without unnecessary distractions. It’s a thoughtful inclusion that aligns perfectly with my fitness mindset. However, if I were to nitpick, the only area I find lacking is the variety of watch bands. I hope Garmin considers introducing more fun and interchangeable bands in the future. It would be a fantastic way to customize the look and feel of the watch.Overall, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a fantastic product that has seamlessly integrated into my daily life. It’s reliable, user-friendly, and packed with features that enhance my fitness journey. I’m excited to see what future updates and band options Garmin has in store. Highly recommended!

Great Smartwatch&fitness tracker /charging challenges
I love everything about this watch, it works great. Tracks fitness really easily. It’s very comfortable to wear. And the most underrated feature is the water tracking, it’s so easy to swipe up and add glasses of water to the count. The only problem I’ve encountered is that the charger is hard to connect to the watch. I will plug it in but it takes 10 try’s unplugging and re plugging the cord to the watch to get it to start charging. It makes me think it won’t last very long…

Superb health monitoring watch
After extensive research my wife and I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive 5. It’s now been a couple months wearing them 24/7 and we are extremely pleased! The watch is a precision instrument that reliably measures so many body metrics as well as fun things like the weather, emails and text messages, that you can also respond to. The brilliant display is absolutely beautiful and battery life is stellar. We charge once a week on Sunday mornings and there is always 30% or more charge left so the manufacturer’s claim of up to 11 days is pretty close. The GPS feature will drain the battery quicker, but it is only used on specific settings where distance and a tracking map is desired. We chose the Vivoactive 5 over the Garmin Venue 3 because it is thinner, lighter, and smaller. We did not need the microphone, speaker, and EKG feature on the Venue, also the heart rate sensor on the vivoactive 5, although not as elaborate as the Venue, is still state of the art and functions flawlessly. We are 100% glad we chose the vivoactive 5 over everything else we looked at. The health benefits of having this watch have been substantial for us. Being able to actually look at graphs and charts of sleep patterns, hydration, heart rate, stress, etc etc have given us great insight into adjusting our daily life. We really appreciate the technology, ease of use and the quality built-in by Garmin.

Nice fitness watch, great battery, lightweight
Got this to replace a Vivio Active 4S. The activity tracking and sleep tracking both seem significantly better on this version and the watch really isn’t too much larger than the 4S if you have small wrists. Overall, I’ve been really happy and the sleep mode (ultra dim screen, DND) is an awesome addition, no more getting blinded in the morning when you check you watch.

I love this smartwatch
I was a die hard Fitbit user for a very long time. After having issues with the last two, I decided to try something new and I’m very glad I did. The technology in this watch is a huge step up. It’s accurate, the graphics are clear, it has a ton of features and it’s very comfortable. The battery has been lasting about 10 days which blows my mind.

It’s all about priorities, if battery life is #1, this might be the one for you
I’m someone who has not the patience nor desire to have another device that I have to charge daily. I had a pixel watch, and functionally it is superior to this Garmin. However, like many so-called superior smart watches, you basically have to charge it every day, and while smart watches don’t take that long to charge, I simply forget too often to make it worth it. Enter the Garmin Vivoactive 5. The only battery issues I have with this one are that I have to charge it so rarely that I often forget where I put the charging cord. It has the basic smart watch functionality that I need to give me all my notifications, set alarms, timers, reject spam phone calls, etc. Do I wish it had Google assistant? Definitely. Do I wish the interface was a little more intuitive? Sure. It takes a couple extra steps to do things that you can do with a simple swipe on other watches. Do I wish the phone app was overall just better? Yes. But for me, the priority is not having to charge something every day and still have all the functionality that I need. And for that reason, I’m very happy with it. Now if google comes out with a pixel that has 5+ day battery life, I would definitely switch back to that in a minute. That doesn’t seem likely to happen anytime soon, so I am with Garmin. For now. Figure out your priorities, especially on battery life, because it has been a game changer for me.

Good looking at first
Overall it’s a good watch for functionality and aesthetic at first. The screen will go black after swimming in the lap pool for an hour and the band is starting to show discoloration after less than a year. I expected som glitching given the model had just come out, but there is something weird happening to the watch every few weeks before it goes away with a software update.

Replaced my Apple Watch with this
I had the Apple Watch for about 2 years but felt the fitness tracking was lacking.I’ve had the whoop tracker for awhile as well but hate their subscription model with monthly feesThis watch has just as many features as the whoop and the battery life is unbeatableIf you are an Apple Watch user this will take some time to get used to.I cursed it for awhile but that was more user error than the watch itself.Once you get used to how it functions it can’t be beat. The band it comes with is far superior to what’s includes with the Apple Watch.Very robust amount of data is provided for the price of this itemMy only complaint overall is that I wish Garmin would simplify their line of watches. There are way too many options and so many similarities. I’ve never researched so many options before making a purchase before. My final selection came down to this and the venu 3.

So glad I bought this.
I am a firm Apple user, so naturally I purchase an Apple Watch. I’ve had 3 different series over the years. I hated that everyday around 5:30pm the battery is almost dead. I start my day are 5:30am so I am only getting 12 hours of use. I finally took the dive and purchased the Garmin Vivoactive 5. It arrived on a Tuesday at 4:00pm with 85% charge. When opening the box I realized I did not have a C Port block to charge the watch. So I ordered one, it is now Sunday (5 days) and this watch is at 50%, I still have t charged it.Since I have an Apple and not an Android I was also worried about getting notifications. Not an issue at all! The only thing is when I receive a text or call I am not able to text or answer the call on my watch. (Not a big deal for me because I didn’t do that before on my Apple Watch). All in all this watch was an awesome buy and I’m so happy with it.

I love my vivoactive 5!!
I had my vivosmart 5 for about 2 years and it still works well. However I wanted to get some upgrades to motivate myself. Vivoactive 5 has a lot of features that I really like, such as sleep coach, HRV. It works well and accurate so far.

Nice watch
I have had all the vivoactive watches prior to the new one. So I knew this would be a good fit for me. Like the features, like the smaller and thinner face. Only thing I would change is the plastic band. Would like a little more style to it, but otherwise great watch! Glad Garmin added Pickleball to the activities. If they would add Barre I would be set.

Glad I chose this model!
I did so much research trying to select a fitness smart watch, and I’m glad I landed on this one! It’s not too bulky and can be dressed up or look more sporty depending on the band you choose. It’s compatible with any 20mm quick release band. I’m a pretty active person, lifting and cardio 5 or so days per week, and this has all the stats I need!

Awesome watch.
I got the Garmin watch for christmas. Never had a smartwatch before, but I absolutely love it. There are still some features that are more advanced than I am, but everyday learning something new. Pretty cool stuff.

Loved it but it doesn’t have altimeter
My fault because I didn’t read the features properly. I really love this watch but I ended up buying a Venu 3 a few weeks after because I want an altimeter.

Garmin Vivoactive 5
I just got this watch. What an upgrade from Fitbit Versa 2. It’s easy to navigate and impressive statistics. Really helps in my fitness journey. The only thing that is missing, are biometrics, body composition, etc.Lots of value for money.

Great watch
I needed a new watch since my last one from a different company had given out. This watch has gone above what I expected and I’ve enjoyed the health tracking features it has.I have also linked it with the garmin golf app and that has been very useful when trying to figure out distances and clubs to use.

Screen Started Dying in <3 Weeks
Bought this as a gift, and when working properly, my wife loves it. It's a great little feature packed watch.Sadly, the screen is very glitchy and just shuts off for 5 minutes to an hour, completely unresponsive. The watch is still working, the screen just won't turn on. We are in the middle of the exchange process with Garmin, which due to backorders and other delays (Garmin makes you mail your watch back first before they will send a replacement) it will take at least a month to get it exchanged.

About as good a smart watch as it gets.
If you have an iPhone get an Apple Watch. The synergy cannot be beat. If you do not, then this is about the best smart watch on the market.

Great watch
Sleep statistics are helpful. A bit of a challenge to pair with iPhone, probably should have loaded app on iPhone before turning watch on. Looks like standard watch.

Love it
Did a lot of reviewing on this or an Apple Watch and love how much more battery and other things this watch does compared to an Apple Watch. Would definitely recommend this over Apple Watch all day.
