    Glad I bought this.

Last 2 desktops I bought were rebuilt. Both failed and never lived up to what the company claimed. I am glad I bought these brand-new systems. Quite fast and easy to work. Set was done in mere minutes. I love the sharp colors on the screen. Kick myself for not buying this sooner. I am very happy with this awesome desktop. The all in one is the best way to buy, instead of having a huge tower to deal with. Thank you!.

    NOT A TOUCH SCREEN

They claim this is a touch screen and it is not. I saw mixed reviews so I asked customer support (says sold and shipped by amazon) and they told me it was a touch screen for sure. Super inconvenient, I need a computer now. Instead I’m stuck waiting for them to receive this one so I can get my refund so I can buy another one and then wait another few days for it to get here. Quit false advertising you crap amazon!

All-in-one computer with very large monitor

Positively LOVE this computer. The startup was almost brainless as it was designed to transfer my records from my last computer through MicroSoft. In fact, it wanted to transfer more than I wanted it to, but it was easy to be selective. No more space consuming box under my desk! Super large screen makes navigating apps and the internet easy and comfortable. I did not get the touchscreen, intentionally as I prefer a keyboard and mouse.

    Not touchscreen but AMAZING

I did not buy this because of the possibility of it being a touchscreen. Just wanted those to know this version is not touchscreen. I bought this computer because I was looking for something that would be A LOT better than the chromebook the Army issues military wives while they are in school because my Macbook from 2014 kapooted. It is awesome. I love it. It is gorgeous. A large screen. Beautiful clarity on images. The computing power is amazing as well. I love the guidance and easy accessibility to things that are going to be daily uses. I am very happy with this purchase especially since it was on sale for a mark off of $350. I got this for $950. Which is cheaper than most laptops that are way smaller and do not move this fast!I love it, the keyboard and mouse. Way to go HP!

I was looking for a Fairly Decent Desktop

I was looking for a fairly decent desktop for a decent price. Caught this one on sale as it was refurbish with I generally stay away from. The computer works great but the keyboard was a total let down. Because all the F-keys were totally messed up, you couldn’t control the volume. I didn’t bother sending it back because I have plenty keyboards so I just used one that I had. But I do Zoom meetings and I needed one that would have a great camera and the volume was sufficient enough so I can be heard. Now I haven’t had a Zoom meeting at this writing but I will come back and update if it worked good or not! But so far the desktop is a good buy! Let’s hope it continues to work or I’m gonna be super upset because of the price I paid for it! Oh and it wasn’t a touch, but that doesn’t really matter to me.

    Sad

I was so excited to have this new computer, and it is defective, the microphone is broken, making impossible to participate in zoom meetings. I tried to fix it, check all settings, updated it, called customer support and it’s defective, has to be returned.

    Great Value

The cost-benefit analysis weighs heavily in favor of the consumer. For the price, it is a great machine: lighting fast and very responsive. For the student and home office use, it would be hard to beat this HP gem. I highly recommended it! (note: it’s not a touchscreen monitor.)

    Only four USBs

Because I use an old rollerball and old big bright letter keyboard I needed those six USBs and that’s why I bought this instead of the smaller one. So annoyed. Will have to pull out key board and use other one when need to use two free usbs. Haven’t figured out how to use touch screen and not sure I want to yet. First time used windows 11 and annoyed by a couple features but what ya gonna do… Otherwise thinking positive thoughts. It is light weight which is nice when you are 75 years old!

    Reliable

Computer came with a keyboard and a mouse that doesn’t work. I have to connect it with another keyboard and mouse. It is good however not as fast as I wanted it to be. If I can get a mouse and keyboard that works that will be good.

    Good hardware. Too much bloatware.

I’m mostly happy with my new HP All-in-one. There is so much to talk about, I’m going to break it up into sections:Good:The PC hardware is fantastic. The monitor is a great, matte, IPS panel, with 60 Hz refresh rate and a 1080p panel. The screen supports HDR video and the image quality is fantastic! I’m also happy with the 10 core, 13th gen Intel. It’s power efficient and still powerful enough to last many years. The minimalist look is also great. The system comes with a wireless keyboard/mouse, and the power cord to the back of the monitor is completely hidden.Bad:The bloatware is terrible. There are about 15 apps I had to uninstall on top of the Windows 11 bloatware that comes on all machines. There are also links to third-party products that appear to be apps, and when you try to uninstall them, you can’t do so. You have to go into C:Program Files (x86)Online Services and delete the whole folder. It’s ridiculous. The monitor has 2 oddities. There is a VERY slight speckled look on the white frame of the monitor. I guess it’s to look like granite? It’s so faint though that it just looks like a speck of dust when you randomly see one. Also, the top of the monitor stand has a VERY cheap felt sheet. Initially, I thought it was sticky so it was safe in shipping, but it’s permanently stuck to the monitor stand! It looks so cheap I can’t believe someone thought this was a good idea..Finally, the keyboard and mouse are acceptable, but are not great. Both are wireless, but they’re so light and squishy that you might want to replace them in time. They work though, and they match the rest of the system.

    Fast, nice All-In-One

This HP has much to like, it is fast, has a bright 27″ screen (Not Touchscreen) Bluetooth 5.0, WIFI 6 network adapter, looks very sharp and doesn’t take up a lot of real estate, WIndows 11 Pro, but for the cost it should have 16 Gigs of Ram instead of 12 and a full Terabyte capacity SSD, instead of 512 Gig, as many other computers do have at this price point,The felt covered base is a bit odd, doesn’t look bad, but will be harder to clean, it comes with a very cheap Keyboard and Mouse, that uses batteries, instead of being rechargeable like many new computers accessories today, funny because it advertises being environmentally friendly by using recycled plastics, but uses disposable batteries in the keyboard and mouse? The computer stand is proprietary, so you can’t replace it if you would like, but it is adjustable, overall with some complaints though, it is a nice computer and with it’s All-In-One form factor is easy to setup and have a nice clean appearance on any desk, but not the best value when you compare the other models at the same price point, you will get more ram and storage.

    All in one, Super-fast desktop

It has an i7, 13th generation Intel processor and is rated at 1.7 GHz clock cycle. That combined by 12 GB of memory and 64 bit OS makes this desktop faster than any computer an average household (except for gaming) would need. The graphics card is good but not good enough for high-end gamers. The 512 GB Hard-disk is type SSD which means it is like an high-end flash drive but much better and faster. Super-fast and no moving parts. It comes with Window 11 PRO and you have to make sure after you turn the Desktop on and setup your user, to check for Windows updates! There a few things that you need to know when you are setting it up for the first time. First one is that you will have to setup a Microsoft account, if you already don’t have one. If you already don’t know this, it is a standard step with any Windows machine. Take the time to read the prompts. I did not subscribe to any additional anti-virus APPs. Windows already has many layers to protect you. And if you don’t know what the suggestions/services are, UNCLICK them and just skip them. If you need anything in the future, you can always add them. Anyway, my Desktop was behind the necessary Windows updates. I just clicked the “Windows” icon on the “Status” bar and started typing “Updates”. The smart search will bring it up and you can select/run it. It took about 20-30 minutes to download and update my desktop. And when it was done I had to restart the desktop for the updates to take effect. FYI, the time it takes for the “update” process to finish also depends on your internet speed and whether you are connecting directly (hard-wire) to your router and modem or using Wi-Fi.If the description is not clear enough you need to know that all the guts of the desktop (processors, SSD drive, etc.) and the monitor are all together, one piece! All you need is space for a 27 inch monitor, a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse (all in this package). More energy efficient than traditional desktops, compact and elegant. HP did a great job designing this desktop. I also love the way the camera on this system is setup. It is located in the middle/top of the monitor and it slides in and out. By sliding in down, I can makes sure that is disabled. No more surprises! LOL The camera is of good quality and works well. And by tilting the monitor up/down you can change where it is pointing.I have also included a photo of the available connections on the back of the monitor. That way you can see what is built-in and what else you might need.Anyway, the only thing I had to worry about, was purchasing an MS Office suite.I love this desktop. It is elegant, super-fast and a great system for all type of needs except people that need a super-fast graphics card for gaming.

No imperative need to invest in additional peripherals at the outset.Serene Operation:One noteworthy facet is the desktop’s subdued operation. Even during strenuous tasks, the fans emit barely perceptible whispers. No intrusive clamor to distract me during work or leisurely media consumption.Webcam and Microphone:The built-in webcam and microphone uphold an admirable standard. Video conferencing and virtual meetings have transpired without a hitch. The quality is unequivocally sharp, earning commendation for both video and audio clarity during calls.Upgrade Potential:While this PC is equipped with top-tier components, it exhibits a degree of upgradability. all in one!

If you’re looking for a beefed up, hard-working PC for work or gaming, this might not be for you. But if what you need is something to check your email on, draft up documents, or the like, then read on!I got this PC for my mother, who just needed a general purpose PC to replace her old dinosaur. She’s very happy with it so far! The touch screen is fairly sensitive, although not good enough for art, in my opinion. She mostly uses it with a mouse anyway because it’s what she’s used to.The screen is a good size, decent resolution, and has good viewing angles. The provided keyboard and mouse are perfectly functional for general use, although they lack some of the bells and whistles that I’m used to with spendier accessories.Overall, no complaints.

    Freaking fantastic

I know very little about the internal parts and processors and what I need for normal day to day use. I had to ask my tech guru neighbor *who works on computers for a living) if this was a good buy and he said for sure. I can’t believe how absolutely easy it was to set up. Literally put the screen on the base, put batteries in keyboard and mouse, connect power cord and turn on! There is literally only 1 cord and that is the power cord. No more unsightly wires. It connects to the internet via wifi. It immediately located my wireless printer too. I’ve had zero issues with it. It has a pull up camera on top of screen. It is not a touch screen, so monitor stays clean and clarof finger prints. You can log on to the computer by facial recognition if you wanted to. If you give it permission you can link up your phone to the computer to see all your phone apps, emails, texts, ect. I wish the USB ports were on the side of the minitor vs back of the monitor- but it is just a minor complaint. The screen size seems huge. You can have multiple split screens open at once. It looks very clean and classy. I’m still geting used to the windows 11, I had an older version. Absolutely love my hp products. Very impressed and in love.

OMG! This is the best desk top computer!

I’m totally in love with the 27 inch monitor! I’ve been using a iPad for way too long so it took me a while to get use to using a desktop again. The last desktop and the only desktop I’ve ever had was in 1995 and that was also a HP model.Once my husband had everything set up for me, everything flowed totally perfect for me! I’ve not had any issues with anything with my new HP computer! It’s totally perfect! I’m still amazed on the size of the monitor and how compact everything is! I kept asking my husband where the computer was. he has almost the same thing in his office at work. I’m extremely happy with my HP computer.

    Easy to set up

The packaging was pretty ingenious with directions on how to unpack and assemble the computer printed on the cardboard as you pull each part out. It is easy to set up once you turn it on – just follow the prompts. I like the All-in-One desktop as it doesn’t take up as much space as one with a tower. You can easily adjust the position (up or down) of the monitor. More storage would be nice but I can always add an external hard drive. I don’t like that you have to set it up with your Microsoft account right away. I will probably change that. Works well and is fast, so far. I haven’t tried the webcam yet. Will update this review if I run into any problems.

You have right there the perfect computer for all your school work or gaming stuff !It’s high price but compared to similar computers on the market out there I’d say this is a good deal to be honest

Nice All-In-One Desktop Option, Lacks Thunderbolt and USB-C

Overall I’m pretty pleased with this PC. It has a very nice display, decent sound, is quick and easy to set up and really keeps everything to a minimum. Just a screen, power supply, keyboard and mouse. It’s a pretty fast system, more than enough for web browsing and general productivity applications, and even decent enough for moderate gaming or video editing. The SSD boot drive is only 256GB but they include a traditional hard drive with nearly a 1TB capacity. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed. The main drive SSD is very fast but the seconday 1TB drive is a little doggish. You can run some USB drives about as fast as the secondary drive.Built-in to the monitor is a little “pop-up” camera and microphone for videoconferencing. I like that it isn’t just a lens permanently mounted and staring at you on the front of the screen. Instead, the lens is “closed” when in the retracted position so you don’t have to worry about a rogue application filming you without your knowledge.Probably the only downside to this PC is the limited number of ports. There’s only one HDMI out, an ethernet port, 2 x standard USB-A ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and power in. One of the USB 3.0 ports is located on the left edge of the screen. All the other ports are on the back. There is no Thunderbolt or USB-C port which limits your options for plugging in certain hubs and the like. I don’t understand why they omitted this as it could actually be deal-breaker for some users. It would also be nice if there were and HDMI input so that you could use this as a monitor for another device if you chose to.One annoying feature is the power button. It’s a small button you can barely feel on the back of the lower right side of the screen. It took me forever to find it the first time. I guess this could be handy in deterring unauthorized users, however, as they’re unlikely to find the on/off button to power it up.The stand is stylish but only slightly adjustable. You can tilt it back or forward but not by much. It seems they prioritized style over function. I like it but some may not be content with the tilt angle. The limited amount of adjustment is made worse in that there’s no easy way to mount this monitor onto a monitor arm or something that would give you more flexibility. One thing I regret they didn’t include is a convenient handle to carry it by. I end up grabbing the wire monitor stand on the bottom of the monitor and gently tip it upside down to carry it when I need to move it to another room. It seems sturdy enough to do this, but it does worry me a little of whether it’s possible I could break the stand and thus drop the PC.The wireless keyboard and mouse that come with it are simple but responsive. The keyboard has no bells and whistles and has a “soft key” feel. Some may wish to replace it with a more tactile keyboard and feature-rich mouse. This WiFi signal is pretty strong, both sending and receiving. I’m able to set this up in a camper I have in the backyard and still get a signal to use the WiFi in my house. I was pretty surprised that this PC had no problem connecting at all and doesn’t seem to experience any interruptions as I haven’t had any luck with almost any other device connecting to WiFi from inside my camper.Power consumption varies while using it but averaged around 50 watts or so. That’s actually not bad for a 27″ screen combined with a PC. It uses a 19.5V power supply which is pretty normal. It would be nice if it used 12V as you could run it directly off a deep cycle battery with a voltage regulator, which would be great for off-grid.I can definitely recommend this system for someone who is looking for an all-in-one desktop PC with decent performance on a budget. I do wish it had at least one Thunderbolt USB-C port for better expansion options, an HDMI input as well as a handle to carry it by, but not everything is “perfect” the way you want it.

    I’m Loving This PC

I have been working remotely for almost two years. At home I have a nice setup with 3 displays and a desktop computer. At my cabin I take a laptop and hook up a monitor and portable display. Not quite as nice. When I saw this All-in-One PC I started to think it might be really nice to not have to take the laptop. Plus it has a 27 inch display. All of my work is done through RDP to the office so it would be perfect. After setting it up, I have to say it is perfect. The PC came very well packed in a big box. Everything was in perfect condition. It comes with a power cord and wireless keyboard/mouse set. I didn’t use the keyboard and mouse. I already had ones I like. It is super easy to set up. There are ports on the back as well as a USB and headphone jack on the left side. My only concern was could it drive 2 more displays since I have become spoiled and like 3. Two for work and one for MS Teams. There is an HDMI port on the back so I hooked one display to that. No issues with a 2560×1440 resolution monitor. I then plugged in a USB HUB (there is no USB C thunderbolt port) and connected another HDMI display, a portable 1080p one. No issues. All 3 displays work like I had hoped! The Setup: I plugged in the power cable and pushed the power button on the back of the right side when facing the monitor. It came to life and started the Windows 11 setup. Took maybe 15 minutes. I then installed Chrome and my VPN for work as well as MS Teams. I was up and working in 30 minutes or so.For what I wanted, this machine is perfect. It’s so cool that it is the size of a monitor and is a complete system. The camera and mic are just fine. And it looks great! I haven’t found anything I don’t like. There is a bit of bloatware installed, but you can ignore it or uninstall it. When I first used the camera a built-in lighting app popped up. It can make the screen white and bright to replicate a light on your face a bit. I found that kind of cool.I haven’t tested the horsepower yet for playing on Steam, but I won’t be using this for a lot of games. Oh and the speakers sound pretty good as well. They are along the bottom. The stand is kind of an artistic metal rack. I like that as well. It only tilts back and forward a bit. No other adjustments. No VESA mount. For me I love this unit. Perfect for my working remote location. Takes up the same space as a 27 inch monitor. Nicer than plugging a laptop in a dock. My advice is make sure it has what you need/want for the things you are going to do on it.Specs:- 1920 x 1080 display resolution 60Hz- Drives 935.1GB D:, 238GB C: both bitlocker encrypted- Processor – 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1255U 1.70 GHz- RAM – 12.0 GB (11.7 GB usable)- OS Windows 11 Pro 64 bit- Pop up video camera and MicNotes:- Looks great- Built in stand only adjusts tilt forward and back- No option to mount the unit.- A bit of bloatware installed but not a big deal- Nice size D: drive 935 GB- Easy to set up. Good all-around All-in-One PC.

Reviewed: HP All-In-One Desktop Core i7-1255U 1.70 GHz, Iris Xe graphics, 12 Gb RAM, 256Gb SSD primary storage, 1Tb SATA HDD secondary storageBefore the pandemic, I was used to taking a laptop from home to office to coffee shop, to plane. With the lockdown, the laptop moved into my home office and the accessories grew around it: bigger monitors, better sound, Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. In essence the pandemic had created an ideal setting for an All-in-one solution like the one offered here, and it has become my home office machine.Unboxing was very simple and satisfying. It came in one single flat box, like a small TV. Opening that, the screen was nestled in a protective array of foam and cardboard, and slid out with no wrestling. One smaller box (1.2″x17.5″x7.5″) contained the Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, batteries, and USB receiver for the peripherals. Another box (2.25″x15.5″x8″) contained the power brick, power cords, and a brief setup pamphlet. The power cord from the wall to the transformer is 6′, and from the transformerr to the machine is 3.5′.Setup was a snap: plug in the computer, put the provided batteries into the keyboard and mouse, put the peripheral dongle into a USB port, and power it up. This machine comes with Windows 11 Pro, which is good about walking a user through initial setup. I had no problem with any configuration steps, with one small counsel to others: when installing batteries in the mouse, the entire top plate is removed. This took a minute for me to figure out, and later I discovered that there is a diagram on the inside lid of the peripherals box. Also, the icons indicating the direction for battery insertion are very small indeed. So, from beginning of unboxing until completion of the new user walkthrough was about 12 minutes. Of course Windows Update had a long list of downloads so I got that started and took a lunch break.Like all PCs I’ve owned, the initial install comes with trial and promotional software packages installed in addition to core Windows 11. The primary storage is a 256 Gb SSD drive, and about 41Gb was used by the base install. There is an additional 1 Tb Western Digital SATA HDD installed as well. More than I need! The 27″ display is bright and extends to about 1/2″ from the edge of the housing. The speaker bar takes up a 2″ stripe across the bottom of the display. The whole thing rests on a wire stand that takes up an 18″ x 7″ footprint on the desktop. The machine can be tilted back about 30 degrees on this stand, but there is no side-to-side swivel and no option to mount the machine in some other way.In terms of ports, the center back of the housing has an Ethernet port, an HDMI port, and 3 USB 3.0 ports. The lower left side has a single USB 3.0 port and a 3.5mm audio port. I was a bit surprised not to see USB-C. Speaking of the HDMI port, I have set up an external 27″ monitor and run both screens at 1920×1080 with no problems.Geekbench scores are as follows: Single-core score 1593, Multi-core score 5844, OpenCL score 12561. (Detailed scores in in the photos.)It’s clearly not an elite gaming rig, but then I’m not an elite gamer. I have played Cities: Skylines on it, since I’ve found that it can turn a computer into molasses when the cities get big and complex. The HP All-In-One handled both the graphics and the object calculations at least as well as my dedicated gaming laptop, and probably better. This is a subjective qualification. Temperatures in all the cores reached 80.0C while gaming, and average 38C while writing this reviewI’d primarily be using this machine for Zoom and other conference calls, for writing, for watching videos, and for business admin. So, all around an excellent home office machine for home office tasks. I think it’s attractive on the desk, quiet, and fast enough. Here is the very short list of things I’d change:- The keyboard is light and slim. There are probably people out there who like that. I will probably switch to my tried and true Logitech K360 which has a chunkier key-click and a bit more room between keys. Also, the standard keyboard has no ability to change the tilt of the keyboard.- The built-in camera slides up and down in a little box on the top of the housing, so it can be tucked way for privacy and for aesthetic cleanliness. There’s no way to adjust the camera without adjusting the whole machine. Since I’ll use this for web conferencing extensively, I’ll certainly use a separate webcam.Overall, four stars out of five, knocking one star off for the lack of USB-C and the lackluster webcam and keyboard.

    Great machine for general use

Set up from out of box to having it ready to go was a little less than thirty minutes. The mouse and keyboard are good so long as you don’t mind changing its batteries or getting rechargeable batteries. The monitor doesn’t look like you are able to adjust the angle, but I could which was a little surprising (considering its sleek design) to quite a range of angles. As far as cords go for this set up you will only need to worry about one cord. However, since I will be using it as a small gaming set up I would need to worry about two more cords. One for the mouse since I have a preference for gaming, and a second for the keyboard. After getting it set up it didn’t take long for me to get my usual preferences set up on it and my games downloaded for me to see how far the machine could go. It could handle all of my games I would want to play on a small semi portable set up, like Genshin Impact, Deep Rock, Monster Hunter, Sea of Thieves, V Rising, and Minecraft. The graphics card can only handle so much though. So while I was able to play them the graphics where not nearly as good on my big set up, but not bad.the one thing that did bother me as so as I got my first game up was the color was off. I looked for a display options button on the monitor and could not find one, along with looking for color settings in the computers preferences. I could only find color themes and display brightness, but nothing with color balancing the computer. Hopefully this is a simple software fix as this is a good little set up, despite the color issues. Another thing that would be nice, but not necessary is a handle on the back of the monitor for hanging on to it when moving it. Again, totally not necessary. All in all a goof little set up for just a basic at home computer or a good little gaming set up minus the color balancing. Would recommend.

All in one pc bundle great for work computer!

The computer arrived In a very huge well packaged box I was actually blown away at how well this thing was packaged and protected. It also comes with a power cord and wireless keyboard/mouse in the box.It is super easy to set up. It turned on and started the Windows 11 setup. it only takes about 10 minutes or so and is very easy!the built in speakers sound great. Not sure just how powerful this pc would be for heavy use or gaming but for a work computer I think it’s absolutely perfect.the metal built in stand only tilts back and forward unfortunately and no way to mount it. Works well, but a little disappointing

If you need a desktop for web browsing, social media, or working from home, this is a really good all-in-one desktop if you don’t mind the price. It even has an open HDMI port if you want to connect a second monitor which is an added bonus. I’m a little disappointed that this computer lacks USB-C or thunderbolt even though it looks like it has one port on the back. This computer is also powerful enough to run some basic games if you don’t mind storing them on an external drive.

    A Non-Tech Person Review

I know very little about computer speeds, graphics etc. I am a simply plug it it and use it kind of person.Set up was very easy and user friendly I had no issues and it was 30 minutes from opening the box to using the internet. Love that I don’t have a tower at my feet and the computer itself looks very modern on my desk. Touchscreen is nice feature but I am sure I will use the mouse as its what I am used to but my fingerprints did not seem to smear on the screen which is nice. Used the camera and audio for a zoom interview and it went well. Video plays nice and no lags etc.I changed out the keyboard and mouse so I will not comment on these. All in all this a really nice computer that was easy to set up and meets 100% of my basic computer needs.

Is This Thing Fast? Let’s Find Out.

The media could not be loaded.

One of the main things we look for when purchasing a computer is “How fast is it?” Who wants to spend all that time waiting? Certainly not me.Therefore, this review is based on the performance of the computer and how the included software enables you to get things done faster.First, I will give a simple overview for those who don’t want to read a lot or who don’t care about the technical details. The Simple:Overall, I am very pleased with this PC. I have been building my own systems for over 20 years and feel like this is a solid, general consumer option. What I Like the Most: 1. Speed 2. Storage space 3. Integrated design that saves space. 4. It can run Linux also. What I Dislike: 1. 4 USB ports but only 2 are USB 3.0The Technical:To get up and running faster, I didn’t set up an internet connection until after I got to the desktop. I also didn’t enable any of the other features that would have caused it to ask more questions during initial setup. This caused the initial setup to take about 5 minutes. The wifi adapter is capable of wifi 6 speeds roughly around 9.6Gb/s. That depends on what speed your internet provider gives you, of course. This aspect of the computer will be fast for years to come as most of us can only dream of getting internet speeds that fast in our local areas. One speed bottle neck in a computer is often the storage drive(s). In this case, there are 2 drives, a 256GB NVME SSD for the operating system and a 1 TB hard drive for data storage.A good drive should be able to handle both large files and small files well. Below is the performance data:In this test, think of Small files as similar to certain high quality pictures you may have taken or just random smaller computer files. The Average size is self explanatory and the Large files test could be compared to transferring movies and other larger videos.Small Files (1 MB)Test: Read/Write 1,000 files at 1 Megabyte in size. Results (SSD)Read: 1.9 GB/sWrite: 1.1 GB/sResults (Hard Drive)Read: 139.6 MB/sWrite: 30.5 MB/sMedium/Average (10 MB)Test: Read/Write 1,000 files each 10 Megabytes in size. Results (SSD)Read: 3.1 GB/sWrite: 1.9 GB/sResults (Hard Drive)Read: 250 MB/sWrite: 80 MB/sLarge Files (1 GB)Test: Read/Write 40 files each 1 Gigabyte in size. Results (SSD)Read: 3.3 GB/sWrite: 1.9 GB/sResults (Hard Drive)Read: 253.1 MB/sWrite: 101.3 MB/sThoughts: Performance tends to be a little better when not transferring super large volumes of files as I’ve done in this test. Included are some graphs of how performance suffers during large volume transfers. Most computer users will never tax their drives like this and will always experience the best possible performance. For typical computer usage, your speeds will be faster. Smaller files always seem to cause a reduction in performance for these drives. This has been my experience for all other drives – SD cards, USB sticks, and so on – that I’ve tested. I am pleased with the performance of these drives. The Small and Average size files test is where many cheap drives fail on performance. These drives performed very good for standard consumer drives and proved they weren’t cheaply designed. Is this fast? Yes.USB ports: This computer has 4 ports, 3 on the back and 1 on the side. All are USB-A. No USB-C.2 ports are USB 2.0 and the Super Speed are at the 3.0 spec.Observations:I find this disappointing as this limits the speed of various attachments when connected to the USB 2.0 ports. Being as this is advertised to the general consumer, most will be fine with this setup as the keyboard/mouse combo can take up one USB 2.0 port and leave one open for another slow device. While the Super Speed ports can be used for hubs and higher rated speed devices such as extra storage drives and high speed USB sticks.Next, the CPU.Intel i7-1255U. Has 10 cores @ 1.7GHz. 2 cores max out at 4.70GHz and 8 max out at 3.50GHz.I did a simple CPU stress test to determine the cooling ability inside this computer. Why this is important? The CPU cores have the ability to go much higher (handle data faster) than the rated core speeds (@ 1.7 GHz). This is done automatically behind the scenes depending on what you are doing on the computer. If the cooling is top notch then you can get the maximum possible speed out of each core at all times. If the cooling is typical for what I’ve seen from thinner PCs then heat will increase inside the CPU and a safety mechanism will activate and reduce the speed of the cores to prevent a system crash. This safety mechanism is a good thing as your computer will last a lot longer. Older CPUs did not have this safety measure built in and your system would just crash, you would typically lose some of your data and could permanently damage the CPU.Results of Stress Test:Average core speed was 3.9 GHz for the first 31 seconds then the CPU was throttled down when temps reached around 180F. The average core speed went down to around 3.2 GHz thereafter. At around 2:30 – 2:45, the speed further decreased to the 2.9 – 3.0 GHz range.Opinions:I actually expected less performance than what I got. Thinner PCs and laptops have limited space inside the case for quality cooling. In the laptops I’ve tested, I’ve found this to be a consistent issue. As long as this CPU can run consistently at it’s rated core speeds, you are getting what’s advertised. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake. (I usually like my cake with icing though.)Consistent CPU speeds beyond the advertised core speeds won’t be noticeable by most computer users as web browsing, watching videos, checking emails and creating documents aren’t enough to push a computer like this to it’s limits. I encode/transcode large videos, compile software and generally push a PC to it’s limits on a regular basis so my use case is different than the majority of computer users.Notice the video showing how the CPU performed when playing multiple videos concurrently. This shows really good performance. The spikes in usage are from when the video in the background is changing to different commercials.Note: A vanilla install of Windows from Microsoft’s website should allow you to get a little more out of your CPU as it seems HP adds some additional tweaks to their OEM versions of Windows to prevent the CPU from getting hotter before initiating a throttle. This may or may not void your warranty though.Next, RAM.This tends to be more relevant for the amounts. Low amounts of RAM slows down a computer. At 12 GB, there is plenty of RAM for web browsing, video watching and document creating. You should be able to have many tabs open on your web browser without experiencing a slow down.Software:HP Support AssistantWhy does this matter for speed? Two Reasons:1. Allows for quick upgrades to device drivers and driver upgrades often bring bug fixes and performance improvements that keep things running more smoothly.2. I was a Windows user many years ago and things seem to go wrong for no apparent reason sometimes. This software enables you to troubleshoot many different issues all from one place saving you time.Final Thoughts: For the average person, this thing should stay fast for many, many years.I run Linux and tested this also with Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon from a live USB. It works. Sound, wifi, bluetooth, webcam and all. Everything ran smoothly from the live environment. Also, there were no hoops to jump through to get it to boot; I didn’t have to touch the BIOS. Windows bitlocker is enabled for the drives so there will be a few steps involved if you want to install Linux and keep Windows for dual booting.Hope this review was helpful. NOT A TOUCHSCREEN!

This is not a TOUCHSCREEN!!!! So, if you like I were purchasing it for that DONT! It otherwise is a good computer, and the glare protection is nice. I’m very pissed that it is not a touchscreen my last one was, and it was great for the kiddo. I found out a bit to late I have been spending the time to move everything over from my last computer for 2 days and I am not about to do it again! I am not happy about the false advertisement at all and feel we should get some kind of refund for it not having the touchscreen. It’s not right to claim that it has something and then not have it. But that’s a topic for the BBB or something. Ill figure it out then I’ll contact them.

Locked out of computer after the return date

Do not purchase this. We have had it for a few weeks and cannot access anything. 😫 the return time is not long enough to determine that it is in working condition. No tech support offered without stating that the computer will ha e to be reset and we will have to purchase new software. Seriously dissatisfied and no longer feeling secure in purchasing larger ticket items online. Going to best buy for a replacement.

I have only had this for 2 months. Bought it Feb. 18th 2023. I would like a refund. I should not have to take it somewhere to be fix. What a piece of junk!
