Great upgrade from my 1060 6 gig but seems to run hot

UPDATE: After finally getting the video card. I was able to benchmark and get a great improvement over my 1060 6 gig. Also, the deault fan settings were to low and resting temps was in the 60c range. After ajdusting the fan speed to 80%, the GPU temps dropped about 19 degree. Also not sure why my directx 10 and 11 scores are below average, but dx9 and 12 are way above average. Also, overall benchmarks of my system increased from about 12000 to 14500. which is a decent improvement. And it is great all of the setting you can adjust, I feel like the feualt fan speed should be higher for normal users who dont want to have to twek the video card setting. Over a great card and upgrade.. I have very happy with the performance increase from my 1060 6ig. I have basically doubled a majority of FPS across the board. My normal benchmark with the 1060 was above 12000 and with the 3060 It is above 22000. great performance gains. Also, I noticed this card runs quite a bot hotter than my 1060. The default setings put the standard temp at idle to about 60 degree c. I increased th fan speed and Temps have gone down about 10 degrees at about 49. I do have to still optimize the air gflow in my case as this card has iincereased my overall temps in the systemOriginal order from Amesie was a Complete scam, received a lens cover instead of the card. The ups store said I was the second person in the past couple days with the same issue. At least Amazon is aware. Hopefully they take this seller down.

    Nice!

This isn’t the most advanced graphics card on the market. But I found it to be a good value for the cost. It has ray tracing, and 12 GB of memory. If you’re looking for the latest and greatest memory card, I’d look elsewhere. But this one suits me just fine, and I didn’t have to take out another mortgage to pay for it.

I got it with Prime for just $300 before tax; might be worth getting Prime just to shave off $200

Positively divine.I can’t imagine what gaming was like without it anymore and it’s only been a day and a half!Someone needs to bottle the smell of a new, high-performance, GPU because I want my house to smell like that always…I only use it for gaming so I can only address that. I’m used to more lower-mid tier GPUs where you can only push it to about 70-80% before you get stuttering or heat problems and the like. You know what I mean if you’ve used what I’m talking about.I mention it because this card lets you push RIGHT UP TO THE LIMIT of it’s specs! You get your money’s worth! Just one caveat though. The card is liable to crash once it hits it’s limit; not saying it’s bad, just appraising you of the reality of what will happen if you do. Unlike crappier cards, it doesn’t hit you with stuttering, heat problems, or crashing FPS when it does. It just stops. That’s it. So be mindful when you plug it in and want to see how far it can go. It will go right up to that limit like it’s nothing, but cross that line and it’s done.Hope you enjoy!

No 4k 60 with this card.

I was disappointed that I couldn’t play 4k 60 with this card. Depending on the game it’s good for about 4k 30 to 40fps. A little less powerful than an Xbox Series X it seems. It’s ok. I’d say it’s worth about $250

    Excellent Graphics Card

As the title says, I really enjoy this graphics card, significant upgrade from what I had last, SecondLife runs seamlessly, Resonite seems to be doing pretty well, I’ve had no issues or complaints with this card so far, I’m very happy with what I got. At first, I was pretty skeptical about the listing, but now I’m glad I took the chance and bought this card when I did, though tuning it is not like my previous card, I’ve been able to get around so far, and had no thermal throttling or anything of the sort.

Very happy with this mid ranged card

I picked one of these up for $289.99 back in December for my daughters pc build and I’m very happy with it. I couldn’t justify spending a fortune on a GPU when this one does it all very well. It runs cool and stable. I have had zero issues with it.

    Great Video Card for Gaming

This shorter video card provides plenty of gaming processing power in a size that will fit most computer cases as a simple plug and play. I believe to price point is great for players who want reasonable performance and detailed beautiful gaming graphics, but can’t rationalize spending over a grand on the latest RTX4080 card.

    It’s great! I love it!

Recently, I gotten into sim racing and well, I needed more VRAM but also more performance. I figured why not refresh my pre-built PC and give it some more love!At the time, I had a MSI GTX 1660 Super Gaming X, it was great at the time due to me playing low-end to mid-end range games, occasionally some high-end games time to time but with running Assetto Corsa with a few mods, the 6GB of VRAM on the graphics card was suffering quite a bit, leading to an unpleasant experience such as stutters for long periods of time, even lower my graphics wasn’t enough to keep up with what was going on in my game. With the RTX though.. it’s been such a wonderful experience. Never had an RTX before, hell, not even a GTX before getting my PC. I always was a console player so having to make such a huge switch was definitely a good investment. With the 12GB of VRAM from the RTX, I have no issues playing Assetto Corsa anymore, no stuttering or anything like that! Temps wise, I am not too sure what it is as I mainly monitor my CPU temp but it has been quiet.Although, the only mistake I’ve made was that I didn’t do enough research and ended up bottlenecking the RTX with my i5-10400F so I am not getting all the performance from the GPU. Still though, for what it is, I am happy with this graphics card. I am new to PCs and what not so upgrading my pre-built along the way I go will do just fine for me.

AWESOME for HP Elite 8300 with modifications

So enjoying this new graphics card. But it was an ordeal getting it to work with my HP Elite 8300 CMT computer (i7-3770 3.4GHz 4 core/8 logical) Why would I upgrade a $250 system with a $300 GPU — well I already spent a lot upgrading memory and disks so why stop now? In case you have a similar setup, here is what I had to do to make it work. (Use at your own risk, I am not an expert.)1. I upgraded the BIOS to the latest: HP K01 v03.08 (April 2019)2. I upgraded the power (PSU). I purchased a EVGA 80 bronze 650W ($85) and had to drill new holes in the case for it to fit properly.:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084R9M19S?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details3. The above PSU needs one adapter to go from 24 pin to the 6/6 pin to plug into the motherboard. $13. As there are a few different configurations for this mother board, I purchased two different ones, the first listed worked for me:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2HVJZJ8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsor possibly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089KQ2Q92?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details4. I installed the graphics card into the top PCIe (x16) slot, it barely fits, but it does.5. I made sure I had a PS2 keyboard (or adapter and USB keyboard) so I could access the system BIOS before booting up.6. The OS refused to show/boot up until I adjusted the BIOS settings. I had to set mine to:Boot Order = Legacy System (I disabled UEFI boot)Advanced Settings:Set boot = FULL BOOT (not Quick boot)VGA = enabledInteractive Video = enabled7. On first login, I download the drivers. (running windows 10 Pro)WORKS AWESOME!I haven’t done any major extended rendering yet, but the temperature in my box is 95 -107F with max CPU at 135F.

    Good upgrade for the money

Looking at the specs, I liked the 3060 over the 4060 (even though the 4060 does get an extra ~10fps in most games) simply because I was hesitant to buy a card with less than a 192-bit memory interface. After some testing and witnessing this card turn my 8 year old i5-6500 into a complete bottleneck, I was pretty surprised with the results. To start, the OC edition will automatically bump up the core clock even past the advertised boost clock speeds as high as it’s comfortable. For me, that meant 2000+ MHz out of the box. With MSI afterburner, I had the card running at 2200+ MHz in modern games like Forza Horizon 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 without ever going above 67c.That’s another thing, this is the first card I’ve ever had with a stock fan curve I actually don’t mind. My last card’s stock fan curve let it hit 83c, which had me using custom fan curves from extra programs like Precision X OC in the background of every single game. With this card, fans kick on at 55-60c and keep temps under 65c usually, unless I’m pushing the card at close to 100%, and quickly bring temps down to 40c before shutting off completely. Very quiet gaming, wether the fans are on or not actually.Upgrading from a 1060, the difference is pretty drastic. Most games easily hit 90-120fps on high/ultra settings at 1080p, with the exception of a few demanding titles (lookin’ at you RDR2) and that’s with my aging i5. I’ve played with upscaling in some games as well and still managed to keep a steady 60fps at bare minimum. I’ll admit, I was skeptical about DLSS at first (Nvidia’s choice to make the 4060 and 4070 a 128-bit card and claim that DLSS 3 would more than make up for it left a bad tast in my mouth) but it’s been pretty nice so far, definitely not to be overlooked. At ~$280, this is a pretty good upgrade from the 1060 I spent $220 on almost 8 years ago. Should I have spent a little more for a 4060 or maybe a 3060ti? Maybe. For a “budget” build though, this card will definitely satisfy.

    It can overheat

It has issues over time with over heating and can cause your game to crash at times.Ok so i bought this graphics card back in October of the year prior, trying to put my current pc together. It has now started getting hotter and hotter even with the multiple fans within my build. So I looked into the graphics card a bit due to crashing in my game a couple times in a row noticing my graphics card was struggling when it hasn’t been at all. Checked the temp and it was too hot. There is a thing called MSI center, and now i’m seeing if that fixes the overheating but we’ll see if anything changes.

    Exactly what I expected.

It’s an RTX 3060. It’s a very solid video card, though I much prefer the design of the Asus version. Still, the price was right and the availability was more important. I’ll give some hard numbers here.I replaced my GTX 970. The 970 could run Everspace 2 at max graphics at 1440p, but it would suffer low fps and be completely maxed out. Additionally, I could not stream Everspace 2 while running it at max settings. The RTX 3060 meanwhile runs the game at max settings and streams it at 60fps. Although performance difference between the two cards is benchmarked at 120%, I would suggest the difference is closer to 300% in actual usage.

Great upgrade to my Dell XPS 8900

My Dell XPS 8900 was purchased about 5 years ago. It’s a good, capable PC, but the included NVDIA graphics card was outdated and starting to fail. Plus, rendering videos was a real pain. I decided on this graphics card to replace the old one and what a great upgrade it has been. My only confusion initially was that it has an 8 pin power port, but my PC only had a 6 pin power supply cable. As it turns out, it will work perfectly fine this way. I have a dual monitor set up. One in my recording booth that’s an old Samsung 1080p and one in my studio that’s a Phillips 4k. With my old card, I was forced to reduce my 4k monitor to 1080p in order to mirror the monitors correctly. Now, I can run my 4k and 1080p monitors at their full resolutions and it’s great. I am also in the process of changing my SSD C drive to a NVMe drive for faster processing as well. This combination is going to extend the life of my PC by a few years.

Way too big but works great

I had to Dremel out some chunks of housing to get it in and it barely connects because of all these circuit parts in the way. Bent two little round things a bit to get it in the slot and I can’t get the lid back on the computer. That’s gonna need another custom cut. But it runs real good though.

30 series is still a strong contender

I’d say this card is on par with the RX 6700xt. Same amount of Vram same ports, close in clock speed etc. It’s my understanding that one of the differences is that Nvidia has tensor cores which is crucial for any AI work.✌️As far as graphics goes, I’ve cranked everything to Ultra in Cyberpunk, Far Cry 6, Death Stranding as well as major VR titles and had at least a steady 60fps on my 4k tv. Even more on my 1080p 120hz monitor. With price to performance I think this card or the 3060TI is the best choice for the money. ✌️

Built a PC for my dad, i use an EVGA 3080 xc3 hybrid and this card is almost as powerful as my card. This is a surprisingly small card, with a single 8 pin PCIE 6+2 connector. This would be great in a form factor build.

Great GPU, stop complaining about the price.

Everyone who leaves a review about how expensive this GPU is. The fact that it’s less than 500 USD when I bought it makes me happy. It wasn’t that long ago something comparable would have been over 1000 USD. If you don’t like the price, don’t buy it, and if you buy it anyway, don’t be one of those people that complains about how expensive it is.It was a huge step up from the 1030 2GB GPU I had in my computer. I was over clocking just to get it to run games on the lowest settings, now I have my computer in eco mode running my most graphics demanding games on Ultra settings. My download speeds have improved, the image quality is infinitely better, rendering distances are better, frame rates went up, refresh rate went up. It’s made a huge difference in my gaming. I’m finally excited to game on my PC because I know it can handle the games I want to play.It works great with my dual monitor setup. Make sure that your monitors have the right connectors, it only has one HDMI port. So you’ll need an adapter or have at least one monitor with the right connector on it if you’re running dual monitor. It can theoretically handle 4 monitors at once, but I don’t see a need for it with my setup.

Amazon Screened a positive review from me as a buyer for this

My original review was positive for this graphics card, but someone flagged it for no reason (I gave it 4 stars because the initial install cut my internet off and I could not download the driver, but a restart fixed this issue and NVIDIA control panel automatically installed the driver (was about 900MB file from MSI) I did not have to go into BIOS or have to reset the “Primary” GPU slot while running 2 cards on this MSI system. The screen resolution did reset (But was expected) and the restart also fixed the screen resolution on my regular 50′ and the other 100″ smart TV. I give the card 5 stars, bu8t Amazon rejecting reviews I will drop a star for them doing this for no reason with no profanity or adult content in the review

Everything I needed – and then some!

This is the PERFECT graphics card to buy on the market right now. For the price and brand, it’s just hard to even look at any other option. The 3060 has high specs in every category and of course works absolutely great in my setup.I came from a GTX 960…this is night and day of a difference!

    Inconvenient card design

My MSI 1060 Armor 6G still runs mostly everything but I needed something better for future games and dabbling other applications. The 3060 seemed like an affordable option and has 12GB RAM.The instructions envelope had strange white scuffed marks or dust on the cover and was unsealed. There was a noticeable scratch on the envelope too. The plastic that sealed the box had a small hole, which could indicate resealing. The corners of the box had signs of roughness and the interior card box had a weak feel, as if it opened more than once. There was a small spec of dirt inside the bag on the card plate. This card was a possible refurb or open-boxed and sold as “new” in my opinion. This wouldn’t be the first product I ordered in this condition…. The card itself looked unused. The lack of DVI port was very inconvenient for me as my main monitor uses it to display at 144hz. I have had to resort to adapter cables for my two older HDMI monitors. My 1060 has two HDMI, 2 display ports as well as the DVI connector that was very convenient. The 3060 only comes with one HDMI port and three display ports. I also have had to buy a special adapter for around $50 to get my older Acer monitor to run at higher than 60hz. It is annoying NVIDIA or MSI would cease using the DVI connector as it could easily be put on the card design like the 1060 had; or they could design a second model version using the connector. But hey they just want you to buy a new monitor okay…I could not fit the HDMI connection into place due to the design on my computer case. There was sort of a metal bar part of the case (admittedly it seems like a bad design of my computer case) right above the HDMI slot. I ended up having to twist the obstructive “metal” and out of the way with pliers and basically damage my case in order to plug in the HDMI cable. It was either that spend another $50 on a riser cable for the card which I don’t want to do. I noticed my 1060 had the HDMI ports on the left side, which is why I never had a problem with it, while the 3060 has them on the right…The card is a very tight fit next to my Noctua cooler due to the card’s backplate. The card is maybe double or triple the performance of a 1060 but compared to better or more expensive cards it is only okay. Maybe the best part is the 12GB RAM. Temps range between 65-70 when card is on load in my fully air-cooled case. Of course, it depends on room temperature.I get full 144hz frame rate from my monitor in games like Apex at 1080p with minor frame drops here or there. However, Apex is so poorly optimized in my opinion and it can still feel like I’m playing on my 1060. I also saw a performance boost in applications that rely on the GPU that I use. I would not have paid near $400 for the 3060 and I am glad I got it on sale, thanks to the 4060’s launch I suppose. I think it will be decent card until I ‘must’ upgrade again in a few years. This order took a week to arrive so having Prime didn’t matter.

    Worth

Bought this with a suspicion not gonna lie but it turned out for the better and my games have been running way better than when I had my 1060.

Fits Dell Optiplex 9020 MT Perfectly

Great picture, easy to install. The best video card you can buy for the money. I have one display port connected to my monitor and the HDMI connected to my 65 inch tv. The displays are sharp! Fits Dell Optiplex 9020 MT Perfectly. Thank you MSI for making a fine product.

    Tiempo de entrega demorado

Única observación es que los tiempos de entrega fueron largos. Y un poco de mejorar mas el embalaje. Pero llego bien

    Nice upgrade

This card replaced my old 1060 6gb GPU and in general I’ve been very happy with the performance. Frame rates are steadier and higher, picture quality is fantastic, and for someone NOT wanting to pay for the latest and greatest hardware this was a great upgrade.
