Amazing gaming quality, not so great for photo editing

Okay, I know this monitor isn’t designed as a photo editing monitor but for gaming it’s almost perfect. I have a few issues with true color representation and the HDR when I’m photo editing but there’s also an issue I have occasionally with screen flicker. It’s really annoying when it happens but I haven’t noticed it during gaming at all so that’s a plus. Amazing refresh rates and resolution

    Clean and Wide

These monitors are very clean and wide. They’re roughly equivilent to two “standard” monitors side by side. The resolution is a bit better than two standard monitors though. My wife uses one as an external monitor on her work laptop. I use one of these on my music station to get a wide mixing console. I have not used these on a gaming system, so I can’t comment on that. For the things we’re using it for, they are great.

    Poor design

The design for the hookups was poorly thought out and executed. The cord that comes with it for display port gets kinked, stressing the display port jack severely, to the point that there is static lines that appear occasionally from a bad connection. Only solved by reseating the connection in the back. Needs to come with a L bracket for display port, or a proper cord. The monitor will likely be broken soon at this rate.

Everything you need from the more expensive Odyssey G7 and nothing you don’t, at half the price.

I’ve been searching for a curved 32 inch gaming monitor for quite some time now, and until recently, most options were priced out of my range. In particular, the Samsung Odyssey G7 seemed like my ideal holy grail monitor, but at holy grail pricing. So when Samsung released a pared-down version in this G5 recently, I took notice. The G5 takes the essentials of the G7 and drops the extras. You lose the quantum dots with true HDR 600 support, 240hz, lose the adjustable stand, the RGB, and the extra USB ports. That sounds like a lot to sacrifice…but what you’re left with is a gaming monitor that is reduced down to its essentials, for under half the price. You still get 1440p, a low response time especially for a VA panel,144hz–which still is more than enough for most people–and the 1000R curve in a 32 inch monitor.Reading some of the reviews about ghosting, I was a little apprehensive as I have personal experience with VA panel ghosting and know what to look for, but out of the box and with a little setup, that apprehension is unfounded. When the monitor is set to 144hz with Freesync enabled, there is, to my peception, essentially zero perceptible VA overshoot over on BlurBusters. The little UFO’s are as crisp as I’ve seen on any other good 144hz panel. There’s none of the dark overshoot typical of VA panels present. The panel behaves more or less like its more expensive brother did at 144hz, where it had zero ghosting, and then the tiniest bit at 240, indicating to me that 144hz is this technology’s current sweet spot.If I had to suspect, the issues other reviewers encountered might have to do with disabling Freesync and setting the monitor’s response rate to overdrive mode. I have yet to ever see a VA panel that DOESN’T ghost in their overdrive setting; even the mighty G7 and G9 suffer from it. It’s best avoided. Overdrive is necessary to reach the advertised “1ms” response rate, and you get a drop to 2-3ms response times when you let the monitor manage itself, but that’s still class-competitive and only perceptible to a professional-grade, hardcore gamer. And if you’re one of those, why are you buying this panel?Setup was easy. My Nvidia drivers recognized the monitor’s capabilities right out of the box, setting the correct resolution and refresh rate and automatically enabling Freesync. The on screen controls are very easy to use, and it has some helpful features like crosshair overlays that I probably won’t be taking advantage of…but they’re nice to have.If I have some criticisms about the monitor they would be that the stand does lack any real adjustability to it. You’re left with just a bit of tilt, though you do have a VESA mount to install your own mounting solution. Also, while the HDR looks supririsingly good in my testing, the lack of full Freesync Premium Pro means you’re left choosing between HDR -or- Freesync, rather than using both simultaneously. I didn’t buy this monitor for its HDR, but it’s something to note if that’s a selling point to you. Finally, the elephant in the room: the curve. I personally like it quite a bit, but I come from a similarly-sized, less aggressively curved monitor, so I adjusted quickly. If you’re coming from a flat panel, you may have issues with it. After while, I think most will come to appreciate the edges of the monitor being brought to the same distance from their eyes as the center in a monitor of this size. At the same time, I can understand it’s a dealbreaker for some.In the end you’re left with a gaming monitor that has everything you need but very, very little extras. If I could knock half a star off for the not-quite-realized HDR support and stand, I would, but balancing it with the $370 MSRP and the fact I scored it for $295 on Prime day, I can’t in good faith pull a full star from my rating. Once a product is that far removed from flagship monitors in price, you can’t reasonably expect a full flagship experience. But to get the essence of that experience at this price is, to me, closer to a 5 stars than anything.

Great screen, but cable went bad in 24 hours

The monitor looks great, refresh rate is great, everything is great except that the DVI cable that came with the computer went bad within 24 hours.

    Good value + Quality

Monitor is not dim like many reviews state. It is bright, but definitely struggles with white bleed. Monitor also suffers from a lot of screen tearing (AMD freesync wont work with my Nvidia card no matter what I try). Overall though, as a gaming monitor it does seem to go up to 165hz at 4k resolution in length and 2k in height. For less than 400$ it was a great value buy.

Great monitor with a few exceptions

First off I was initially very impressed with the size and image quality of this monitor. I had this on my wishlist for a while and when it went on sale for under $350 I couldn’t pass up the chance to buy it. However after using it for a few days there were two things that bothered me in my usage. First was the fact that you can’t really adjust the height or the angle of the screen. I found it to be rather low when sitting on my desk and despite its size I’m used to having monitors that sit higher. It also had a tendency to seem to lean forward a bit (maybe it seemed that way from being so low and would have been tolerable if it was higher). The next feature (or lack thereof) is the fact that there are no built in speakers. I don’t expect high quality sound from built in speakers but every monitor I’ve had in the last 10 years had built in speakers and at $300+ the fact that they didn’t include bothers me. Maybe that won’t bother some people but it would have been nice to know before purchasing. Conversely I decided to buy another monitor made by LG that has similar specs and was cheaper and (in my opinion) is much better value than this. I decided to buy the Lg monitor after my Samsung one suffered an unfortunate accident where the screen cracked. Thankfully I was able to contact Amazon and they were very understanding. I explained what happened and they explained they could offer me a refund and gave me a return label to send it back since it was within the return window.

    I love this curved monitor!

This monitor fits right on my desk and really makes it easy for the to see and read whatever is on my screen. At 68 and wearing glasses. Every advantage you can get is a plus. Price was outstanding too. Good Value.

    It’s Good

So far from using a normal TV is has been great using a monitor and the curvness really does make it feel better when playing. One thing i have nticed is when playing or simply watching something if it isndark and the camera movesbor pans somewhere quickly you will notice some where light moving behind or with the object when the camera is moving. I’m not entirely sure how to describe but it is something I’ve never seen with my old TV. Also Brightness is low but simply adjusting it will make it look Great.

    Fantastic monitor

I knew going into my purchase this would be a good display as Samsung have some of the best looking screens in the industry. Very satisfiedNote that most Samsung displays have very saturated colors. If that bothers you then it is something to note

    Loving it!

The putting the stand part is scary, you’ll think you’ll break it, but I promise you aren’t! It has good graphics, and the curve is nice. Makes your space fancy looking. It’s good with gaming and work.

Gorgeous monitor; Freesync most excellent for arcade retro gaming via MAME

I had previously had a 2×27″ Samsung S27D590P dual monitor setup for about 6 years until one of them gave up the ghost a few weeks ago (backlight across the top went out). So I was finally able to have the ‘excuse’ to upgrade to a 32″ with Freesync. Took at a look at the G7 32″ but wasn’t keen on the severe curve and seven hundred plus price point, then I found this 32″ G5 with the same curve, laugh, but hundreds cheaper. Looked to be pretty new, not too many reviews so I took a flier on it. The 32″ wasn’t even on Samsung’s monitor page yet but it was intriguing. When it came and was opened up it was really light to carry and move around. Installation of the stand was dead simple with just a screw on the bottom you could tighten yourself by hand if inclined. The curve actually helped make the fit on the desk a bit more manageable as it wasn’t as wide as it would have been straightened out. It overwhelmed my remaining 27″ (see pics) and sat higher being a bigger panel.I connected via Display Port (the second cable worked, the AmazonBasics one caused input drops and eventually put the panel to sleep, very weird, see separate review for that). My 5600XT and its Radeon software detected the monitor and switched Freesync on on the monitor itself. Now my main ‘fun’ use case for this monitor is playing classic arcade games via MAME which I’ve been involved with since 1997. Most golden era arcade games output non-60Hz refresh rates so it was AMAZING to finally be able to play these games without tricks to compensate for the non-standard refresh rates. Things like Mortal Kombat at 54.70684Hz and Pac-Man at 60.6060Hz immediately improved as you could observe smooth scrolling and a distinct lack of tearing. Every game I threw at it played silky smooth, so nice. For other tasks it’s similarly impressive. If you stay at 100% Windows 10 scaling you can get more headroom onscreen than 1080p as this is a 1440p panel. So far I’ve been very happy with the monitor, especially at the sub $400 price point. Recommended. (j4.)[Update 2020.11.09] My other 27″ Samsung died also recently (both within a month of each other!) So I bought a second G5 and have them next to each other on the desk in a nice extended curve. Nice to have a matched dual monitor setup again both at the same 1440 resolution. Second panel working as well as the first so far, no dead pixels on either thankfully.

    Big, bountiful features, clean picture.

Pros:First, I’m using this monitor with a new Mac-Mini computer, bought the monitor online through AMAZON.Very simple to assemble – took me all of four minutes.I love this monitor. I originally had a 21″ and this 27″ is not just larger, it’s significantly larger. It’s light weight and has a generous base so it’s steady . Curvature feels good on my eyes, and while I have to move my head a wee bit, you can minimize any open window to a size that fits your individual preferences. The definition on this device is better than I’ve seen, even in the stores.Try a spreadsheet that has a lot of cells – it’s wonderful. Also, it’s great to have two, three and more windows open and see each easily. Now, there are a lot of curved monitors out there, most more expensive than this Samsung, but I trust Samsung as I’ve used their printers and TV screens for years with few if any issues.I resized the icons that were appropriate sizes for may last computer, to a larger size – the proportional fit is perfect.I don’t do gaming but I can promise you that this monitor will be great for gaming, looking at Google Earth, watching nature productions and similar “shows”.There is a USB port in the rear of the monitor.Cons:Like other monitors of this size and price, the monitor does not raise or lower. It compensates for your particular need by tilt up and down. All-in-all, it works for my average size. The size of the monitor is almost too large for me. I do need to turn my head to view the monitor from edge top edge, but as I said above, that’s easily resolved by resizing any open window. So, final message is, buy this monitor for your desktop needs – it’s really great.

It’s a really good, responsive, affordable gaming monitor.

Got it back during a Cyber Monday deal around $260ish. It’s really good for the price honestly. It works perfectly with my PS5. 120 hz on games that support it no issues. It feels so smooth, can’t believe I played FPS games on 60 for so long because 120 is game changing! The only unfortunate thing when it comes to performance is that it only supports G-Sync and not other forms of VRR. And G-Sync isn’t supported on PS5.Picture Quality: When it comes to picture quality, it’s actually pretty good when you get it dialed in and mess with the picture settings, but out of the box it isn’t that great and HDR isn’t even a consideration for me. It’s not an oled so the deepblacks aren’t the best but once you calibrate it to your liking, it ends up looking really good. It’s also made up by the fact that it’s 1440p resolution with 144hz refresh rate. 1080p in 2023 is a deal breaker! So no worries there The colors are also vibrant and punchy. Just not the best blacks. Also, it doesn’t have the best viewing angles, but it’s a curved gaming monitor, most times you’re gonna be sitting directly in front of it lol so that shouldn’t be much of an issue.Screen/Build Quality: I’ve had this monitor for just around 4 months and no issues so far when it comes to the build quality. The stand it ships with though is very limited, and I remember it was a pain in the *** to mount the monitor on the stand for the first time.Overall, this is a great bang for the buck if you can get it at or below $300. It gives you the basic necessities for a gaming monitor. 144hz support, 1440p resolution so it’s sharp enough, the colors with calibration can be vibrant and punchy, and it’s curved at 32 inches. Not many complaints here!Cons: deep blacks aren’t a strength, viewing angles aren’t great, and no VRR support on PS5, only G-Sync for PC.

It’s only 100hz refresh rate at 3440×1440 resolution!

The marketing is misleading! The 165hz is only for a resolution lower than 3440×1440 resolution. This is causing a problem with making it work with my other 165hz 3440×1440 monitor (Sceptre 34″) using NVIDIA to configure spanning display across multiple monitors; i.e. spanning doesn’t work! NVIDIA tech support indicated that the native refresh rate at 3440×1440 resolution is only 100hzThe other misleading thing is the surrounding frame. It’s built to look like a super small frame of about 2mm in width. In reality, the actual display has about 1/4″ around the perimeter of the screen, effectively making the size of the border to be about 1/2″.

    An Epic Gaming Display

The SAMSUNG 32″ Odyssey G55A is an absolute gaming marvel that has blown me away with its immersive experience. After witnessing the stunning visuals on my friend’s monitor, I couldn’t resist getting one for myself, and I must say, it’s been a gaming dream come true.First and foremost, the 32-inch screen size is perfect for creating a truly captivating gaming atmosphere. The display’s 1440p resolution provides crystal-clear visuals with vibrant colors and deep contrasts, making every game come to life in stunning detail. Playing on this monitor is like stepping into the gaming world itself. The G55A’s 165Hz refresh rate is nothing short of remarkable. The smooth and fluid motion it delivers has elevated my gaming to a whole new level. Fast-paced games have become even more enjoyable, and I feel like I have a competitive edge with this monitor’s responsiveness. The curvature of the G55A adds to the immersion factor. It pulls me into the action, providing a panoramic view that feels incredibly engaging. It’s like being wrapped in the game world, enhancing my focus and allowing me to get lost in the gameplay.I also appreciate the inclusion of AMD FreeSync Premium. This feature has virtually eliminated any screen tearing or stuttering during gameplay, providing a seamless experience that’s easy on the eyes. My games have never looked smoother, and I can’t imagine going back to a non-synced monitor. The build quality of the G55A is top-notch, and the monitor’s stand, while functional, has a minor quirk. It’s a bit longer than expected, and it sticks out past the screen when viewed from certain angles. While this doesn’t affect the monitor’s performance or gameplay experience, it can be slightly distracting for those who prefer a more compact design.Despite this minor stand quirk, the G55A still doubles as an excellent work monitor. Whether I’m editing photos or working on design projects, the monitor’s color accuracy and sharpness make it a pleasure to use for productivity tasks as well.In conclusion, the SAMSUNG 32″ Odyssey G55A is a gaming masterpiece that lives up to its reputation. Its immersive display, high refresh rate, curvature, and AMD FreeSync Premium have revolutionized my gaming experience. I am beyond satisfied with my purchase, and I wholeheartedly recommend this monitor to any gaming enthusiasts or content creators looking for an epic display to enhance their gaming or work setup. If you’re looking to level up your gaming experience, the G55A is the way to go, even with its minor stand quirk!

I love this monitor, and I don’t see any ghosting issues as a gamer

I played cyberpunk 2077, everspace 2, Rust, valorant and several other games on this monitor and I didn’t experience any of the ghosting that the other reviews complained about. I did a ghosting test online and it was negligible at best. This monitor is the best I’ve ever had, I put an ergonomic monitor vesa mount to make this thing rotate and line up perfectly with my head to remove neck cramps from looking up too much. The monitor stand it came with was flimsy but not terrible, however I don’t use it now that I have the vesa mount.I’ve watched several movies on this with Plex and the auto aspect ratio is actually pretty decent which is surprising considering most movies have black bars to create the right ratio.Playing games in this thing is very immersive. The refresh rate is great with 165hz, and little customizing is needed out of the box to get it just right. With a high end graphics card like from Nvideas RTX line, you can’t go wrong. I’m using an Nvidiea RTX 2070 super and this thing looks great. I even use it with my Mac Pro 2013 model and it also looks great, and it auto changes the display correctly so Windows or Mac this thing looks great. No more need for dual screens, just open two windows and put them side by side, its essentially the same thing, but now theres no plastic bar inbetween the two screens, just one seemless experience. If you are looking for the best monitor screen, I think this is it so far, especially price wise. I know there are better monitors that exist with better specs or bigger sizes, but this is really all the retail space you’ll ever need. I even find myself using it for movies, even though I have a 55 inch Samsung 4kHDTV which is surprising.Don’t believe the haters, just get it and return it if you don’t like it, but I think this is definitely a solid product that you will enjoy for years to come, and Samsung is a great company, great customer service, and high build qualities that last for a decade or more.

    Outstanding, Vibrant Gaming Monitor

Bottom line up front: This is my first curved screen, and it’s amazing. The refresh rate, coupled with the vibrant colors and huge display keep me immersed in the game! This Samsung G55A, 32″, 144 Hz refresh rate curved monitor is all I can ask for. It’s incredibly bright and the colors are true. There are lots of customization options like color presets which you can set to FPS, Cinema, Strategy, etc. to maximize your vision in any type of game.

Great “Entry Level” 144hz 1440p Monitor

For context, I’m coming from using an ASUS VG248Q, and this monitor is an upgrade in (almost) every way. TL;DR: Compared to the other 1440p 144hz 27-inch monitors out there, this one is a great value for those who want to upgrade to a larger or higher resolution monitor but can’t quite afford the more expensive ones.Positives:+ Build quality is A+, it doesn’t feel cheaply assembled.+ The anti-reflective coating on the front does a decent job at getting rid of reflections.+ The colors look pretty accurate and have some vibrancy without feeling oversaturated.+ The “black equalizer,” which seems to adjust the backlight brightness based on the content on-screen to make black levels deeper, works pretty well and isn’t distracting most of the time. Only when there is a rapid change from black to white does it feel distracting.+ All the settings out-of-the-box gave me the best picture, I didn’t find the need to change anythingMediocre:~ The response times are what you’d expect from a VA panel, in that they’re better than an IPS display but worse than a TN panel. Leaving the response time set to the “Faster” seems to be the best option. Even the “Fastest (MBR)” mode, which strobes the backlight for less trailing and faster perceived response times, was jarring and looked worse to me.~ It might be because I have a NVIDIA card, but the AMD FreeSync setting, which does work on my card, seemed to make the response time worse and didn’t seem to provide a noticeable benefit to screen-tearing. Probably best to leave it off unless you have an AMD card.~ The curve. It’s a very tight curve, and coming from a flat screen it was pretty jarring at first. However, I’ve quickly gotten used to it. The most it’s made me uncomfortable was quick horizontal movement on-screen, whether in a top-down game or in a first-person game. However, I’ve gotten used to this as well, so I wouldn’t consider it a downside. It does make it a bit easier to see the whole display edge to edge.Negative:- The stand. It’s extremely barebones and definitely where they saved cost. It’s just a fixed height stand with no swivel, no rotation – only tilt.- The on-screen display and the control nub. The joystick on the bottom of the monitor feels like the cheapest part of the monitor, and the OSD is, to me, pretty ugly.- The auto-switching between the two inputs, DP and HDMI, was hit or miss for me.Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this monitor and don’t regret purchasing it. Even if I didn’t purchase it on sale, I still would have been satisfied. The response times are acceptable for the price you pay, and even in competitive first-person shooters it’s not distracting to me. I only wish that it came with a better stand – height adjust would have gone a long way as a taller person. I recommend it to anyone looking to move into the next tier of monitors but aren’t ready to spend upwards of $400.

Great Gaming Monitor for the Price

I’ll preface the review by saying I went from a flat screen 27″ 75hz, 1080p screen to this one, so that is my basis for comparison. This is my first curved screen monitor as well, as I was looking for a more immersive gaming experience, and looking for a monitor to match the abilities of my new, more powerful PC.I have the monitor hooked to my video card using the display port connection (cable not included), as this provides the highest available settings. The monitor comes with an HDMI cable that I saved for future use if needed. Set up was a breeze, the base went together with one screw. The base does take up a fairly big blueprint on the desk, so if your desk size is limited, I’d suggest a wall mount or desk monitor mount. I may do this in the future, but this works fine for now. There isn’t a height adjustment for this monitor, but that hasn’t been an issue so far. The tilt adjustment, which was definitely needed, isn’t very intuitive, and it’s tight enough to feel like I was going to break something if I forced it. But it eventually moved and works fine – there are some other complaints about this online and even some videos on it, but mine adjusted once I put enough steady pressure on it.The menus are simple and intuitive. Now for the good stuff – my games look amazing in 1440p and 165hz. But keep in mind you will need a video card capable of producing that resolution and frames per second, which is why I upgraded to this monitor in the first place. It’s also a good idea to match the in game resolution settings with your monitor settings for best results. The only downside I have seen so far is that there is a fair amount of glare when the screen is off, even in a dark(ish) room. It hasn’t been an issue while playing games yet, but it’s something to be aware of.BOTTOM LINE: This is a great monitor for gaming at this price point (~$350). Sure it probably won’t compete with a $1,000+ 4K monitor, but if you’re looking for a great monitor for gaming or production work that doesn’t break the bank, this is a great choice.

    Perfect

I don’t write reviews much but felt that this one needed it. I was temporarily using an old 24 in monitor that is well outdated but was a great size and when purchased was top of the line (10+ years ago). Building a new computer needed a new monitor and I occasionally play some FPS games. Purchased this for multiple reasons including space and price. 4K sounded great till cost is calculated for usage. 32 inch sounds good till you hold up a tape measure and realize it will take up my ENTIRE desk (it is smaller). Pulling it out of the box, I thought I might have made a large mistake. It looked a little smaller than I expected and the curve felt a bit odd. Plug it in and start using it and you realize that it was everything you wanted. Fits perfect, looks perfect, games perfect (for me).So yes, buy this one if your looking for a reasonably sized quality monitor for a good price that can handle anything you need.

Huge curved monitor – 32 inch (update issues)

UPDATE*** So after having the monitor for about a month, I started getting extreme artifacts all over. Getting into the menu settings doesn’t work all the time as the monitor decided to “restart” over and over. The bios is not always a guarantee to get into even if you have the settings to 60HZ and other options off. I got frustrated enough I guess to finally return this.I read the reviews carefully here before deciding to buy this monitor. For starters, I have an AMD system and using Nvida’s graphics card (Geforce RTX 2080 Super). I enabled FreeSync on the monitor menu (it was not enabled by default). The monitor was automatically set at 144hz. It’s plugged into the one and only HDMI port it has. I don’t use DP so I can’t comment on that part… just yet.My issue during setup: I couldn’t figure out for the life in me why the monitor wasn’t detected by my PC during boot-up. I was accessing the monitor menu, but there was no picture being fed into it. It turns out that I had my HyperX headset plugged into my computer and it did funny things. After 20 minutes of frustration, rebooting over and over and googling, I unplugged the USB headset and the monitor showed up just fine after that point. I knocked off a star for this because I always seem to have issues with other types of Samsung monitors when setting them up in the past. They are very finnicky monitors in general when setting them up. No problem. When I didn’t have FreeSync enabled, the colors did not need to be adjusted and worked fine for me out of the box. The blacks were rich and I saw no need to even bother adjusting the colors. BUT THEN… when I enabled FreeSync about 10 minutes later, I noticed a yellowish tint immediately and the blacks not looking as a rich. I believe this has nothing to do with the monitor since I saw other people reporting this same nuisance with FreeSync using Acer and other brands of monitors (just do a google search for “freesync looks yellowish.”). For the time being, I switched FreeSync back to “off” until i figure out if I want to do a custom color setting through the moniter’s own menu or find a way to not have AMD’s drivers affect the color profile.Other Experiences so far:- Geforce experience and having ingame overlay on = terrible for me. I updated to the latest driver and reinstalled geforce experience. I guess I somehow turned the ingame overlay on (I usually had it off). I was experiencing huge artifacts when tabbing to dark-themes programs such as Discord, Spotify and even Geforce experience itself. This may not have anything to do with the monitor persay but if you’re complaining about seeing artifacts tabbing around or dragging your mouse around, the ingame overlay feature is the culprit. I think this is Geforce’s problem really since I read some people rolling back to an older driver.- You have to turn down to 120hz if you intend to stream (Netflix and Prime). No way around this. The whys and the hows have already been addressed in other reviews here.Final thoughts:- Samsung monitors are finicky during setup, but if you always had just about any of them you already know this. Once you realize and overcome the setup process with these types of monitors you are golden. I knocked a star off because of how terrible it is to access the menu, the weird USB issue when booting up, and the fact that the stand this comes with is terrible. I highly recommend this monitor for the price-point thought, and I am going to switch to a mounting stand anyhow.- I came from a 21 inch Samsung (flat screen). The switch to a curved 32 inch screen was a huge change. In fact, I am regretting not going for a 27 inch instead since I could’ve done a dual monitor setup side by side, but this thing is HUGE. It’s about 28 inches wide by the way, so make sure you measure you space.

    Amazing monitor

I’ll do my best to make everything clear.Starting with this monitor support 165 hrz and QHD so if you want to see a monitor with the best image quality like 4k this is not the option, for me I rather go for more smooth on games so I like this monitor because it’s great on that aspect and if you don’t want to spend a lot on a monitor this it’s a great idea and more if it is on discount, I have the odessey g5 32 inches and 165 hrz and QHD so this monitor it’s big if you are not use to monitors or if you used to have 27 inches monitors this is a big monitor and it’s curved screens it’s amazing, make you look like weird at fort bit once you are used to you would love it and you won’t notice that it curved. If you have a great PC and you are looking for a monitor I won’t recomend you this exact item because there are a lot of best options and you should have to buy a expensiver monitor for this situation, because hdr 19 in this monitor it’s weak, it’s brightness make it usless and also if you have a room with a lot of extern light it’s kind of tough because of it’s low nits of brightness, but if you have a console like me it a great opcion because you don’t need a lot for it, you can play at 120 hrz and 1440p and I were used to TV so this it’s a huge noticeable change.I would recommend this monitor just if you are on those situation and more if it’s on discount, love it.

    Great 1440p monitor

I got this used like new for half the price, and it looked like it wasn’t used at all. The monitor itself has been great as a main display for gaming and multitasking. The 34 inch screen doesn’t feel overwhelming like the larger ultrawides. The only issue I have is it being a VA panel, so there is some ghosting. I also can’t get freesync to work without flickering, which is more of a driver problem and not the monitor. I would recommend getting your own monitor stand, as the one it comes with isn’t the best.

    Resolution!!

I do not play any games. I just got it because of the resolution quality. Be careful not to buy any HDMI wires as they do not get all the resolution and Refresh Rate. I made the mistake of buying a pretty pricey one and I could not return it because I lost receipt and had paid with cash. The display port is all you need to get the best resolution out of this great monitor! The reason I gave ONE STAR to gaming is because I am not aware of the functionality in that mode. Otherwise, 5 stars!!

Great picture and everything, BUT: no position adjustment whatsoever, no tilt, no height, no direction… Do not know how much money they saved on this, bit it can be really annoying if it sits too high/low on your desk.

The monitor is great in just about all areas but being doing a lil bit of nitpicking the blue status light on the bottom is pretty annoying and the curve is quite aggressive compared to other brands.

Best monitor I’ve used for gaming!

I’ve played games on TVs all my life and never had a monitor. Before purchasing I tested out a lot of monitors that my friends had, over 15.This monitor, however, was the best out of the 15 and is packed full of features that the other ones did not have. Clarity is top notch frame rate is fast and the colors. Excellent!Having the curved version allowed me to put it in a corner to save room on a gaming desk that My Wife also use for crafts. If I ever had to get another monitor, I for sure would get the same one again.

Excellent picture easy to set up.

I have my display raised on a box in back of my laptop. Eyelevel is the best you just look over the top of your laptop. You can adjust the size of your laptop on the screen + a wide screen for looking at your photos or videos. Works great with Power Director instead of looking at all those small preview photos.

It’s a good and sharp monitor.

Edit: 9/2/ 2023. I had to edit this review because the blanking out problem seems to have stopped after I upgraded the drivers for the 6800xt graphics card. That could have been the problem the whole time. But who knows. I’m still not sure about the stand and changing the tilt of the monitor. The instructions aren’t that clear on that. The picture is nice. It’s very sharp, bright, and big. You can’t seem to use HDR, so it’s not that bright. The main problem I’ve seen is once in a while it will just go off. Then I have to wait and it will come back about a minute later. It’s rare, but you know technology doesn’t work like it’s supposed to anymore. Once it comes back on you see the connection type back in the upper left of the screen and the AMD software is asking if you want to report the problem. I have an AMD 6800xt video card it’s plugged into. I used the cord that comes with the monitor but also bought another one the same time I bought the monitor because who knows if it has one included. On Amazon there’s what, 6 monitors listed together? Both display port cords have the monitor going off, or blank, what ever it’s doing. I threw the box away long ago, so I’m not sending it back. I’ll be just suffering with it. I had 2 Acer monitors that were 1080p plugged into the same computer and video card for months and they never went blank. So far this problem hasn’t been in a game but just using Windows with the browser open.Another problem is the tilt up and down. I don’t know how it works. There’s a picture in the manual that seems to show just pushing it down and up, but I’m sure if you think you are going to do that without breaking the screen, not likely.Ninety percent of the time it’s a good monitor, until it suddenly goes off or you stand up and can’t see it too well because I guess you can’t adjust the height.

    Really nice monitor

Got this one on Prime Day. I didn’t have any room to set it up where I was, and was planning on moving. Took me over a month to move, finally did, and hooked up the monitor. it’s a HUGE size, even coming from a 27″, still a huge step up in size. For a TV, small, but for gaming on a PC it’s massive. But I love it. The curved screen is a little easy to lose your cursor at times, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.After running for a couple hours, a band of about 3″ worth of lines appeared on screen, and wouldn’t go away. Happened in both inputs and when there was nothing plugged into the monitor except power. And it was past the return date for Amazon so I had to deal with Samsung repair. Was an easy enough process, they even sent me a UPS return label to print to send it back 2nd day air. They did keep it over a week though, and I think they actually repaired the same monitor and sent it back. Wasn’t a reconditioned unit off the shelf. At least it was the same box I sent it in.All works well, and I really wish it was brighter, I have it set to full brightness and almost full contrast, and there are still some darker/muddy area when watching movies or playing some games. I’m sure if I mess with more settings I can improve it some, but mostly ok. The response time is fine, the 2k resolution is awesome, and my poor lil rx 570 can push this many pixels just fine.A lot of games make it work really hard, and have had to turn some settings down. When playing in 1680×1050, I could have a lot of games on Ultra, and some in 1080. But popping the monitor on to it’s full 2560×1440 it dropped frames to about 8-10. Had to go down a couple notches to Very High on most games to get playable again. Better video cards will handle better, but with prices the way they are, I’m happy with this for now.

The perfect monitor to get into 1440p gaming!

Got this monitor to replace my old acer 3D monitor. The feature 3D on the monitor should tell you how long ago I purchased a monitor. So I’m expecting a nice longitivy with this monitor. I’ve only had it for about 4 days so I’ll leave that part out for now.Now I consider myself a hardcore gamer as I put in anywhere from 60-90 hrs a week just gaming. Moving up to 1440p has been great games look much better but I quickly found that my 1070 can’t play all my games at ultra settings but visually it still looks amazing. Now I play zero competitive games honestly dont care for it. So that may affect some for this review. But for me as a single player only type gamer this monitor had zero tearing, zero lag, zero flickering, and no issues with ghosting. The monitor has 144hz but me turning all my games to the highest settings I was lucky if i broke 100 fps most my games stayed around 60-80 fps. Some even dropped to 30s or 40s so again I want to stress I’m not a competitive player so this had no affect on me. So of course all the positives I just said this monitor could do with no issues.HDR is ok on it but didn’t expect much and it’s not a feature I would use anyways. Now the VESA mount it does work for the G5 however, make sure you use the rubber washers included in your monitor arm if you use one. When I first tried to set this up the placement of the 75×75 made it difficult because of the round backing. So the rubber washers helped lift it up just a bit so that the VESA mount was perfect. Now I didn’t have any dead pixels another plus with this monitor and the backlight bleed for me was hardly noticeable so plus again. The 1000r curve made me completely fine with losing 3D as I’m in the minority who loves 3D gaming along with 3D movies. But after seeing the curve and how it works I’m perfectly fine with losing that feature now.Overall, I’m very happy with this monitor especially since I was able to nab this at $200 which I dont know of any 1440p 144hz you can get at that price so as long as this monitor can give me 5+ years I’m going to recommend anyone who is not a competitive player to grab this.

    Lines flickering across screen.

The media could not be loaded.

I ended up buying 3 of these from Amazon. Each one ended up having flickering lines across the display. Sometimes it would be fine for a few hours, but always came back. It was most noticeable on the menu screens, but started happening during game play. The first one I called Samsung and they told me the serial # was not correct and wanted me to supply pictures of the lines. Since I only had it a few days, I returned it and ordered another. The second one worked fine for a few days until I would no longer show a display. The PC would recognize it as if it was working, but the display was black. I returned that one and tried a 3rd monitor. That one also had lines, so I tried to get it taken care of through warranty. I REALLY wanted this monitor to work well as it was very nice when it was not malfunctioning. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, they said they could possibly repair it and I would have to send it out. They also advised that I may just want to return it. I ended up getting a different brand as I am not convinced that any other monitors of this model would do the same thing. Again, I really liked this monitor and I really wanted it to just work. I tried swapping cables, ports, power cables, drivers

I bought this monitor and it arrived two days before expected, that’s a bonus. What isn’t a bonus is my Power Supply only lasting 10 minutes before spewing smoke and flame. Great monitor minus two things

What can I say, the monitor is great with two caveats. It’s it’s a great price for what you get. The only downsides are the stand and you need to buy an adapter. The shape of the stand can make it very unstable depending on your desk and the lack of adjustable angles can be frustrating. The only other complaint is that I needed to buy a usb- c to display port to access the monitors full potential. HDMI is limited to 100 hertz refresh rate and the computer wouldn’t recognize the screen size. I tried a usb-c dock and it allowed it to see the size but limited the refresh rate. I bought a cable matters usb-c to display port adapter, plugged it in and the computer instantly saw the monitor and adjusted to full resolution and refresh rate.

Fantastic upgrade to my old 32in Flat Screen Samsung. This one is so much better in every way vs the old one. Mine came with a DPI cable which I wish I was able to use but my laptop only has USB and HDMI ports. At least the monitor accepts HDMI although HDMI does not give you the full functions that this monitor is capable of. I am amazed with the HDR the programs that can make use of it really look fantastic.

    Good Entry Level Ultrawide

Firstly, I am a casual gamer (less than 10 hours a week) and use my pc for various tasks besides gaming.Overall I am very pleased with this monitor. I was looking for an ultrawide to better take advantage of multitasking and this has been great for my productivity. The 1000R curve is impressive and sets this monitor apart from other curved ultrawides. The curve is a bit overwhelming at first and can distort documents, however, once you get used to it, it is very nice.Panel quality is as expected for the price, overall I am pleased. Dont expect the most color accurate, brightest, or premium panel here. Some calibration will be needed as expected out of the box. Brightness is fine and the monior can be used in a moderately bright room. There were no defects with the monitor I received. The biggest downside is the cheap stand. It is serviceable, however, there is no adjustment available and is quite wobbly. Use of a Vesa mount is advised. The biggest problem I have is not with the monitor itself, but with the particular items sent to me. I ordered two of these (for myself and my wife) however, one of the monitors was incorrect (a Gigabyte brand ultrawide).Overall, for the price paid, I am satisfied with my purchase.

    Nice monitor for the price

It was pretty easy to assemble and worth the price. The only two issues I have is that they kind of lied, it’s not 165hz it’s 144hz. It also has a lot of ghosting so you have to adjust a few things. But besides those two issues it’s alright. I thought it would come with and hdmi cable but it didn’t, but it’s fine since I already had one. I would get for the price.
