Comfortable fit and high quality sound

Never cared for earbuds, but these don’t actually enter the ear. So lightweight and comfortable that I forget I’m wearing them. And the sound quality is superior. Ambient noises disappear, the battery lasts for hours and hours, and recharges incredibly fast.

    These are BRILLIANT

I have loved my Plantronics BackBeat Fit buds for 8 years. While I am not an aficionado, I do appreciate and enjoy good sound quality, which is the main reason I kept the Plantronics for so long… I tried a few other brands over the years, but none of them could outperform the Plantronics.Until these Shokz OpenFit.Though the Shokz are not IN ear buds (like the Plantronics), they are still warm and rich, and full of bass, even set to the standard EQ.The very BEST thing about the Shokz, though, is how comfortable they are. Seriously, I forget they are there. And, they stay put! I have tried shaking my head back and forth at all angles of tilt, and they don’t budge. The open ear design of these is perfect for me, as I like to experience my music while still maintaining a connection to ambient sounds. I love to cycle and hike, especially. These buds, and the speakers, do not cover your ear canal at all. They rest above that, but still deliver full, satisfying sound.I like to listen to many styles of music from dub/reggae to jazz and classical. They all sound terrific through the Shokz, again, even with no tweaking of the standard EQ. With the jazz, cymbal sticking is crisp and clear, and every nuance on the snare and toms comes through richly. Guitar, keyboards, sax – all rendered excellently. Classical music sounds clean, warm and vibrant. Dub drum and bass is punchy – plenty deep for me, and if I want more, I have the option of boosting the bass with an EQ preset, or with a manual adjustment.Touch controls on the buds work well to play/pause music, accept a call/hangup, and FF or REW a track. Unfortunately, there is no volume control on the buds. It’s the only minor drawback that I can think of.The Shokz app is a nice touch, too.Overall, I can say within two hours of owning and using these, that they are fantastic. They make me want to use them!

    Best earbuds I’ve ever owned

I’ve had these for about 3 weeks and WOW they are the best. When I first got them I put them in so tightly that they put pressure against the back of the inside of my ear, which was uncomfortable over time. I think I’m so used to always feeling my headphones in my ear that this initially felt like the correct way to wear them. The key to prevent this is to gently put them on so they are just resting. Here is the best way I can describe it:1) When you twist the arm back over the top of your ear, twist it all the way back as far as it can go to where you run out of room and it puts pressure on the top and back of the earbud (part that is inside the ear). The back is almost pointed down at this point.2) Give the whole earbud about a quarter turn forward.3) Pull the inside of the earbud away from your head just a bit, then re-situate it so it’s gently resting in your ear.I can wear them like this for hours. It will feel weird at first like they’re going to fall out, but you’ll get used to it! They are so comfortable at that point that sometimes when I’ve stopped listening to something, I have to actually reach up and feel to make sure I’ve put them back in the case. There have been multiple times where I feel for them and they aren’t there. Like I literally can’t tell the difference. Your hearing is also not impaired, meaning you can turn down whatever you’re listening to and have a full conversation with someone without issue. It also IMO makes them safer to wear in public. They are great to talk on the phone with too, and the microphone works very well. Lastly, I worked out in them the other day doing a combination of weight lifting and cardio (including jumping exercises). I have somewhat oddly shaped ears so I’m usually having to adjust even the best headphones constantly while doing any physical activity. I was shocked to realize I didn’t so much as touch these the entire time!! For the first time I was about to forget about my headphones completely and focus on my workout. I will update if things change, but so far I’m genuinely SOLD.

    Lightweight, Great Sound

I love how lightweight these are. I don’t even feel them on my ears. They don’t block the ear canal so even when wearing both earphones I can still hear everything around me.The audio itself is very clear. Bass is very good too, but obviously won’t compare to over-the-ear headphones. The battery life is commendable, about 6-7 hours each earphone before needing a charge. Charging case doubles maybe triples that time.Audiobooks and podcasts sound great. I use them at work where I drive a forklift so when there is a lot of outside noise (cars driving by, forklift etc) it does get hard to hear and I usually have to max out the volume if I’m listening to a podcast or something. If it isn’t too loud of an environment then they work great even on low volume.Somewhat water resistant. I accidently got into the shower with them on (that’s how comfortable they are) but took them out as soon as I noticed. As long as you dry them thoroughly before using again they are going to be OK.No need to deal with earwax blocking up the earbud, no messing with sizes of rubber tips to fit my weirdly shaped ears. They work great individually and together. They both have their own microphones which allows me to switch them in and out all the while staying on my phone call. Everyone I’ve spoken with over the phone has told me my voice is perfectly clear. They do a good job at dampening outside sound on their side. Like when I’m driving a forklift and talking to someone at the same time, they barely hear the forklift even though it’s too loud for me to hear them.I LOVE the multiconnect feature. This allows me to connect my earphones to my phone, then to whatever else I’m using. I’ve tried them on the Nintendo Switch, my smart tv, desktop pc, laptop, Meta Quest 2, and a Kindle Fire tablet with no issues. They are discreet. Most people don’t realize I’m wearing them (including myself).Cons:Although the battery life is pretty good, taking a phone call will halve the battery life. On a phone call I get about 3-4 hours of time before needing to charge them. (This is easily circumvented if you just use one earphone at a time instead of both)The case is smallish and holds a good amount of charge, but is near impossible to open with one hand. Not a huge issue, but for anyone that has the other hand full or are disabled in that manner may find it difficult to open the case using only one hand. All in all these are an absolute must-buy for those looking to be constantly connected.

Comfort and sound for the elderly

**Shokz Earphones: A Heartwarming Experience**As someone who recently purchased Shokz earphones for my 80-year-old mother, I am delighted to share this glowing review. Initially, my mother was apprehensive about embracing such new technology, but her concerns quickly dissipated. The ease of connecting via Bluetooth and the auto-pairing feature brought a sense of simplicity and relief.**Comfort: Unparalleled and Forgettable**The most striking aspect is the comfort these earphones provide. My mother, who wore them all day, even forgot they were on her ear! This level of comfort is a testament to their design, especially for someone of her age.**Sound: Crystal Clear Communication**The sound quality exceeded our expectations. During calls, I noticed a remarkable clarity in her voice, and she reported hearing me much clearer than through the phone’s speaker. This improvement in our communication has been a game changer.**Overall Satisfaction: A Perfect Choice for the Elderly**In summary, these Shokz earphones have been an excellent investment. They offer superior comfort, exceptional sound quality, and are incredibly user-friendly for the elderly. The added convenience of a large, rechargeable case that attaches to her keys alleviates any worries about her losing them or having them fall out. This purchase has brought not just a technological upgrade but also peace of mind and joy to both our lives. I am thoroughly pleased with this product and highly recommend it, especially for older adults.

    Comfy and stays in place

Great for situations when you don’t want to lose background noise, like traffic. Great sound, easy to pair with devices. Good product overall.

Great bone-conducting over the ear buds

These sit comfortably over your ear and employ bone-conduction functionality to work. I was a big fan of the original Shokz Bone headphones… but the downfall for me was the connecting bridge between the headphones. Being cursed (or blessed… lol) with a big head… they never quite fit like I wanted. These fit perfectly. The sound quality is great. I have an Samsung S23 Ultra… I can easily watch movies, listen to music, or take phone calls with these. Button functionality is simple and easy. Pairing was easy too. There is a free app from Shokz that you can download (but it is not necessary). The case seems to hold a decent charge for on-the-go charging. Type C plug (cable included). Came 90% charged. Nice square case and includes a small draw-string bag if you want to add some additional protection to your case. Great find and purchase. I originally had my Samsung buds… but they starting going out after 2yrs of use. They were sorta annoying like most in-the-ear buds are… these have none of those issues.

    High quality – fair execution

This is a high quality set of earphones, with a quality case and charger. They feel premium and look good. The sound is what it is – it’s an open ear headphone, so it’s projecting sound into your ear while letting outside noise in. Considering this, the sound is quite good. It’s not noise cancelling over the ear, or an airtight fit earbud – and it’s not meant to be.Given that natural tradeoff – the sound is quite good and as good as one can reasonably expect.I have two major complaints with them that takes them down quite a bit in my view. The fit is fairly loose for me. I don’t think it’s about to fall off or anything, but it doesn’t feel secure, and I constantly feel the need to adjust them. Worse for me, The pair I have seems to skip a beat until the delay is over half a second over Bluetooth. It ends up being largely untenable for phone calls or watching video – and for that reason I can’t recommend them for those. I would recommend them for perhaps a larger ear (mine are comparatively small) and for music only.

Not recommended due to issues with charging.

I have used two different shokz bone conduction headphones in the past, starting with the aeropex and most recently had the openrun pro. Keeping my ears open while exercising outside is very important to me and those definitely delivered that. Sound quality however was never a strong suit of them and I found that overtime both started developing excess vibrations or rattling. Most recently the openrun pro has started vibrating a lot after some time of use while exercising, potentially from sweat between the driver and my skin. I also found them super comfortable to wear, but since both sides were connected, they were exactly compact.I only have a short time with the openfit, but I think I have a decent idea of some of the pros and cons as compared to the openrun pro.Pros:- Sound quality. Its a noticeable improvement over the openrun pro. Bass actually exists with these. Its still not top tier, but for an open ear product, I think its pretty good.- Still open ear. While it covers your ear a bit more it doesnt seem to block out much if any sound. Situational awareness seems to be just as good as the openrun. Obviously if you need isolation, these are not for you.- TWS. These are much smaller and more compact than the openrun since each ear is separated. Still have ear hooks, so I think they will be stable without any worries about losing one or the other.- Charging case. Having a compact case to carry them around with and provide extra battery life is nice.- USB C. The charging case charges via usb-c instead of a proprietary connector with the open run. No more worrying about having to bring a special cable.- Comfort. They are very comfortable to wear and very lightweight. No more loop around the back of your head getting in the way of things.Cons:- Comfort. Also a con since part of it has to actually protrude over your ear canal and its been more noticeable while wearing them while I could pretty easily forget that I was wearing the openrun pro. I expect I will get used to them, but I do find it a step down.- No multipoint. I use these with both my phone and my watch, and now have to put them in pairing mode to switch between devices. The openrun pro had multipoint and while my watch sometimes had issues connecting, I at least never had to manually go into pairing mode just to switch between devices.- Controls. There are touch controls on each earpiece. They can be customized which is nice, but by default volume control isnt enabled, and can only be enabled on long press, which is 3 seconds. It feels very long to hold down for 3 seconds for volume. Also due to the way they sit on the ear, it kind of puts pressure on the ear to press or tap these controls. The openrun pro had dedicated volume buttons and a dedicated play/pause button. I much preferred that. The openrun pro could also be turned on or off with the controls, cant do that on the openfit. Seems placing them in or out of the case is the only way to turn them off or even disconnect the bluetooth without disconnecting it from your phone or other device.I of course havent used them long enough to see how they hold up over time. But I expect since creating sound isnt based on vibrating against your head, quality should hopefully hold up and not start vibrating as both of my previous shokz products have through use. The sound quality improvement while still being open and keeping situational awareness is really nice.I havent tried phone calls with them yet, but I imagine they would be just as good as the openrun pro’s which were great for that.A lot of good upgrades and overall I think the form factor could prove to be a lot better. But there are some noticeable steps back, so I am settling on 4 stars because the cons are enough for me to prevent a full 5. The app does allow for firmware updates though, and there was one available as soon as I turned them on. I imagine multipoint could conceivably be added (if the hardware supports it) or the controls could be further tweaked or expanded upon.Update 8/23/23 – Lowering to 3 stars. All the positives from above remain. The size is nice, they are compact. They sound good, especially compared to the openrun. Still have all the same situational awareness. But I find myself adjusting them quite often when using them. I have never had either side fall out while exercising, but they still dont feel as secure as the openrun ever did. They can bounce around just slightly when using them.I also find call quality doesnt seem to be as good when paired with my phone. Still quite usable, but not as crisp or clear as others. There have been a couple of firmware updates so far, but nothing that has allowed for more customization of the touch controls. A swipe motion to change volume like other tws earbuds have would be very welcome as an additional control. And the long press is still obnoxiously long. But the biggest issue is that I have started developing trouble charging one of the earbuds. It doesnt seem to reliably make contact with the charging case anymore. I use them pretty much every day, but I do feel like I may not be getting near the advertised battery, and find myself having to charge the case seemingly once a week, even though there is no way I am using them for nearly 30 hours a week. Might be an issue of the actual earbuds not seating or charging properly. And since the charging case is needed both to disconnect the openfit from my phone or other device and is needed to put them in pairing mode to switch between devices (since they have no multipoint), it has made them more and more difficult to use. I have had multiple instances where I cannot properly activate pairing mode to switch devices and have to try multiple times before it works. I Even had one night where I put them back in the case, but they never actually registered in the case so they just remained on and draining theirs and my phones battery overnight.I do not know if this is just from poor design or potentially from some stray sweat after working out with them, but if its the latter, these are advertised as water resistant and to be used for “sport” so this would seem like a possible failure point or issue. And I feel like now I am going to have to go through the hassle of getting a warranty replacement for a product.Update 8/28/23 – Back to 4 stars. The right earbud completely died on me and I could not get it to charge in the case. Though somehow I eventually managed to get it to charge again, and it seems that it is charging somewhat consistently again. I still sometimes have to reseat it or wiggle it to make sure its actually registered as being in the case. But the real reason I am back to 4 stars is because the latest firmware added multipoint. 2 devices can now be connected. And it seems to work pretty seamlessly. So I am quite happy with that. Weirdly it doesnt look like they have updated their product pages with this yet.I cannot tell if anything else has been changed with the latest firmware update as I cannot find any patch notes. The long press delay seems like it might be slightly shorter than before, but its still quite long. There wasnt even any mention of multipoint other than a new setting for it just appeared in the app after the firmware updated. At this point I think these would be 5 stars for me if they were able to update the gestures. Based on some other TWS I have used, single tap and swipe gestures are not available. And given the larger area of these, a swipe at least seems like it would be the best for volume control. Not sure if its possible with the hardware, and maybe the single tap was left out to prevent false activations while working out. At the very least, the long press still seems like it could be shortened.Update 3/4/24: Dropping down to 2 stars. I don’t recommend these anymore. The replacement pair I received a while back after an annoying RMA process with spotty communication from shokz has now started to exhibit the same behavior the first pair exhibited. The right earpiece again is having issues charging properly on the charging case. It does not seem to make a solid connection in the case anymore. Not only does this mean that it doesn’t always charge properly, but even worse the charging case is used to essentially turn them off. This means I can put it in the case and if I am not super careful, it will remain on, will not charge, and remain connected to my phone. I have now had multiple times where after a day I go to use them and the right earpiece is nearly dead. If this progresses as before, eventually it seems likely that the right earpiece won’t be able to take a charge at all.Since this has happened again, and again to the right side, this feels like there must be some issue with these. The only thing I can think of is that I do use them when exercising and I do sweat, and have occasionally used them out in some light rain. But with an IP54 rating I assumed this shouldnt be an issue as this seems exactly like what that rating is designed for. I always wipe them dry before putting them in the charging case.I will be reaching out to support again to see what my options are and likely start looking for a replacement.

    Outstanding Product

I have used AfterShokz products since their inception. I really liked the Titanium’s, after 3 sets of those, I splurged and purchased a set of AeroPex, at least that’s what they called them then, and I Really enjoyed those. Unfortunately, a fire claimed hold of those, and I had to look for something else. That’s when I found these OpenFit headphones, and I absolutely adore these. They are comfortable, with a great volume range and have outstanding support from the Shokz app , not to mention the incredible sound quality. I could not be happier. They are very light and don’t cause any pressure headaches that a few of these types of headphones have caused before. I switched to AfterShokz because of ear problems as a child, that do not allow me to have standard earbuds in my ears, so these products have been a blessing. I strongly recommend anything the AfterShokz puts out. I have convinced so many of my friends and coworkers to switching to AfterShokz products. They truly have revolutionized headphones for me.Gary

Likes- Comfort- don’t even realize that I have them on most of the time.-sound quality is much better that the aftershockz. Has 3 non adjustable settings Voice-Bass boost-Treb boost. -Holds a good charge.Dislikes-Noise cancelling is for the receiver of your phone call, not for the listener.

    Great headphones

I like how they fit over my ears and don’t slip off when doing activities. Earbuds always fall out but these stay in place. Also I like the sound quality better than earbuds. I feel I can wear them for extended periods of time without pain and the battery lasts a long time.

Very comfortable and connects immediately to my PC.

I use these headphones on my PC for watching videos and music. They fit right over the ear and has great sound. These are not for audiophiles but they are great for casual listening. The bluetooth range is great. I have an extender that allows me to go downstairs and still stay connected.

    Super comfortable!

I wish I had waited a couple of weeks to purchase these because February 1st these were delivered and on February 11 I see the same seller selling the exact same thing for $30.00 less than I paid for them. Disappointing for sure!Other than that, they are comfortable to wear and sound really good.

    Can wear long term

I work in a place where I need my headphones on all day, some times for 12hrs! And my AirPods were killing my ears, like I literally had scabs in my ears and I had headaches from how uncomfortable they were. So I went looking for head phones that don’t go into the ear, I don’t like the big bulky headphones that cover the whole ear, especially since I have gauges and piercings. These are perfect for me because they don’t irritate my ears and cause me physical pain and headaches.*update one month after*I see people commenting about how they aren’t noise canceling, and I agree with that but that’s not the purpose I bought these for. Also I think the product even states they aren’t noise canceling so you can enjoy music or what ever you are listening to but also being aware of your surroundings, which I find very useful because people just blindly walk around looking at their phones not being aware of anything, at lease with these headphones our hearing senses aren’t compromised while we are in our own little world staring at a screen. Also battery life, I charged it immediately as soon as I opened the package, and I didn’t have to charge the case again for about 5-6 days after and I use my headphones 8hrs a day at work mon-fri so I think that’s a big win. Of course I take the head phones off here and there to give my ears a break so they do charge in the case on and off through the day. They did bother the back of my ears at first but I think it was because of my glasses, so I take my glasses off then put the head phones on and have my glasses on top of them and they are much more comfortable.

    Love these!

If you’re in the market for new headphones, but you don’t like buds actually *inside* of your ear, I cannot recommend these enough. They’re super lightweight, sound quality is amazing, easy to set up, and situational awareness is spot on because you can still hear what’s going on around you. No more pulling an earbud when your flight attendant is trying to get your drink order! The app even has an equalizer so you can set your sound up exactly the way you most enjoy it. Great for people who have issues with traditional ear buds staying in place, people with sensory issues, and even people who are genetically cursed with icky-sticky ear wax and find themselves constantly having to clean it off their buds.

    Love- with one caveat

The sound on these is great. I can hear bass in my music and voices in podcasts, which I couldn’t in my off brand vibe conduction earbuds. They feel a little loose, but stay in *caveat* except when I do side stretches and lean over way to the side when I work out.Love that the open ear design lets me choose whether to listen to the environment or the music/podcast. If you’re not used to this type of listening experience, it’s a lot like having the radio in the car: you can hear the music and your surroundings

    Perfect Gym/Workout Set.

I have Never been able to use “regular” ear buds because they fall right out of my ears. These lay in my ear perfectly and the ear loop is sturdy so they dont wiggle around even when I am running or doing burps (yuck). But I have recommended these to so many others who have also fallen in love with them

Surprisingly good sound quality without compromising situational awareness.

I can’t use earbuds because I have stitches in my ear tract, and the earbuds feel horrible. Aftershoks has been the best headphone choice ever since my surgery in 2018.I recently upgraded my Trek Air (2018 model) to OpenFit. Here are the improvements:- Even lighter, I can have OpenFit on the whole day while working. I sometimes forget it’s there.- The fit is great for me. Putting them on is not the most intuitive, but once it’s on, it stays there.- The sound quality is way better than my old Aftershoks. It felt like surround sounds, and I could still hear my partner talking clearly while blasting music.- The mic quality has also greatly improved. It’s clear and loud. The old model used to get interference from water and high-pitched sounds, but this one doesn’t.Now the 4-stars:- Because of the design of these things. If your environment is too noisy, you inherently will not be able to hear well what’s coming from your headphones. Usually, in that situation, I’ll use my Bose over-ear headphones.- Although the phone app allows you to customize your controls, but it’s quite limited, and you just in generally have to give up one of the 3 basic control: play/stop, fastforward/backward, and volume control. Though I have a feeling this can be a software improvement in the future.- The tap control is also not consistent. And the feedback is an in headphone beep, I’d rather it be a small vibration

    Love them.

I highly recommend these. They are possibly the most comfortable earbuds I have ever worn. You forget they are even on. These are not for everyone though. I bought these for work. I work in an office and have to be able to hear everything around me. I get so tired of taking my earbuds out everytime someone comes in for something. ambient mode just isn’t good enough and I hate using one earbud. These buds don’t go in your ear canal so you can hear everything around you. Don’t expect the best sound quality. While the sound quality isn’t the greatest it is good enough for me. I’m busy at work so I’m not focusing on the sound quality so much. So far these stay connected better than my Sonys. There is a very slight delay when you push pause or skip track. There is a slight lag when watching videos, but it’s not so bad that I can’t enjoy them. I’d you need to drown out the world these are not for you. If you need to hear your surrounding I recommend trying these.

    I LOVE THESE

The purpose of these is NOT to noise cancel, Idk why Amazon wants me to rate that.I love these!! I use them every day! They’re great for walking out doors and except when cars are driving past me, I can hear spoken words very clearly. I use them for music, podcasts and phone calls. I cannot overstate how much I love them! I used to have the trekz that went around the back of the neck and used bone conduction through the jaw. I sometimes wondered how much of it was actually ‘air conduction’ like these.Very rarely, the top of my ear gets a little tired from wearing these for hours, but honestly I often forget I’m wearing them. I love that I can still hear my surroundings. Not crystal clear, but I need to be able to hear traffic and notice when someone is trying to get my attention and that’s when I shut them off rather than needing someone to shout for me.These are worth the 190.- I paid for them. I’m so glad I got them. They are a real upgrade from the bone conduction headset I owned from the same company. Seriously, I love them.

    Amazing earbuds

I’m prone to ear infections. Using AirPods and my Beats fit pro always cause ear itchiness, sweat and eventually ear infections. These Shokz are amazing! The battery lasts long and I can’t tell you how many times I forgot I had one on! I’ve used the power Beats and those hurt my ears where the hook presses down, these Shokz are light! Calls are clear on both sides, sounds/volume was great! Only down side for these are they are partially iOS compatible. I drive for a living and use voice to text/commands a lot and I was spoiled by the beats reading out my messages and being able to command Siri and to have my messages read to me that it was frustrating and couldn’t get past it when these weren’t compatible . Gave them to my sister who’s an android user and she LOVES them too!

Perfect fit, great quality materials and design

The only thing I would improve is wireless charging one day. But not a big problem because I have been looking for @8years for a pair of headphones /earbuds for my small ears that are comfortable. I’m 50 and I have purchased provably over 100 pairs if not more through the years to only be let down over and over again. The best ones I could find and fit were normally the cheap ones with poor sound quality. The Shokz has Apple pairing and some hardware. The fit is absolutely perfect. I also enjoy being able to turn them up enjoy what I’m listening to and be aware of my surroundings unless I’m at home all alone.Wonderful design and I sincerely Thank the company for thinking out side the box and Amazon for helping me find these. Thank you

    Beyond Expectaions

I have been an Apple earbud wearer for years, but it was time for a change. After reading reviews for days on various open earbuds, I opted for the Shokz Openfit.WOW, WOW, WOW, I couldn’t be happier. Out of the box the sound was incredible, but…. then I upgraded the Firmware. Through the app I was given the option to customize EQ or use a set choice between bass boost, treble and more. I truly wasn’t ready for how good the sound would be coming from the headphones.Switching between devices is seamless. From TV to iPhone is done without any effort. The comfort while wearing them is awesome. I forget I even have them on. No discomfort while wearing glasses.I wish all my purchases could surpass my expectations as these Openfit have.

    Amazing sound

I bought these buds not knowing how the sound would be. My other pair of Shokz was good but these are awesome! I was happy with how I can set up the sound using the equalizer, and other controls from volume to moving back and forth between songs. The bass and treble are outstanding! They blow the Bose clips out of the water. Calls are clear for me and the other person. What else can I say. It’s like I’m not wearing anything, I forget I’m wearing them other than the music. Also great surround sound when watching a movie. Shokz out did themselves with these.

Great Upgrade From AfterShokz Bone Conducting

Wanted to upgrade these because the original aftershokz bone conducting headphones have the band around the back of the head that can be cumbersome, but was on the fence because of the price. Gratefully surprised! Sound quality is better, customizeable EQ settings, touch functions, and firmware upgrades available through the free app. Voice assistant compatible on Samsung S24U. I use these at work for music, and calls as no ear covering buds or headphones are allowed (construction). They are soft robber that is comfortable and stay in place. Pleased with them, and recommend for their purpose of open ear application.

Excellent earphones with minor user experience issue

It’s my third shokz product. I loved the first two with bone conducting technology. The openfit uses a different technology but I still have situational awareness while listening my music privately. I’m really enjoying it. It does a minor issue that should be addressed:The touch controls still elude me. I can’t go to the previous track easily. The long 3 seconds tap only goes back to the beginning of the current song. Another 3 seconds tap goes to the beginning of the same song again. You have to be very fast between the two 3-seconds taps to get it done.Another thing is the App for android is not available in my region (South America), so no way to update firmware. I hope it is soon.

Love the open more than conduction Shockz

Bought to listen to radio at work, for dog walks… Super comfortable. Sound quality great for music to my non-professional ear. Very discreet under my hair. Battery life lasts 2 work days easily for me. I bought these when I misplaced my original bone conduction after -shokz. I loved them too, and slightly prefer them for running. Neither is great for noise cancelling. One CON for me is that you have to use phone to adjust volume on the open version- no manipulation on the earpiece to turn down. However, If set at the right volume, I can easily carry on conversation while still listening. Another con is that I sometimes have to put them in the charger to break the Bluetooth connection. Overall though well worth the money.

    Best thing I own

I have a ton of earphones including other Shokz. These do not have the best sound, but they’re way beyond bone conduction. They’re hard to notice on your ears after hours of use—you can easily use them for an entire workday.I love them for running and rowing, but still use Open Runs for cycling since the high sustained volume isn’t an issue for bone conduction.

    Perfect replacement to Open Run

My dog chewed up my Open Run bone conducting headphones that I’ve been using for years, but decided to try these instead of a replacement. I’m glad I got these instead! The sound is a big improvement over Open Run but still allows me to hear surrounding noises. Further still, these are far more comfortable… Almost forget that they are there! (Open Run made my ears sore after a couple hours). I find the sound very well-rounded with lower volume required, and I appreciate the ability to customize EQ through the app. Further still, you CAN customize the tap features which includes increasing/decreasing the volume (hold tap option). That was almost a deal-breaker before purchase, but the customizable tap and other app features make them perfect now!! I just hope they are truly water resistant enough for rain and snow because the sound transmits through two small speakers on each piece.

    My new favorite!!!!

Each time I buy a new Shokz product it turns out to be better than the last. Was going to hold off on these for a while to wait for any upgraded set they put out. Already owned a pair of air conduction ear phones so wasn’t in a hurry. Well, there was a sale…… enough said. These are GREAT!! Hardly know they are on and don’t get in the way at all. I listen to audiobooks so I won’t be addressing anything about my music quality. I am also on the phone for work and haven’t tried these with that yet but don’t anticipate any problems. There is an app and that’s a first for me. Was there one for Openrun Pro? So used to those (own 2 pair) that I’m having to relearn on these. Only had for a few days. Love them so far.

Best open ear headphones yet! Especially if you have a very large head.

All the previous Shokz hurt the sides of my heat from the pressure soon after I’d wear them. The higher end also hurt the back of my ears. These aren’t bone conducting, but still leave your ears open, and don’t hurt anything.

    OMG These headphones sound amazing!!!!!

I have several Aftershokz. I use the set with the physical mic for work. Then I have my headset that goes around the back of my head for music and tv and whatever. Then I saw these and well……. I said I have to have them. These sound amazing and if you use Spotify and the Equalizer features all I can say is Wow. I love sound effects of music and want to hear all the directions in which it is coming from and I need some bass and well you can hear the sound coming from all around you and even when they are low they still have the same quality of sound. I LOVE THESE!!!! WOOHOO!!! Ok and the charger. Ok that is just too cool. I charge the box then put my earphones in there when I am done using them where they are safe and BAMM!!!! charges them. And it charges them fast. I have been jamming on music all day. Eventually I have to go to sleep but I am just loving being lost in my music. My brain does computers and software all day so these are an awesome, comfortable, powerful and just fun to wear break. You dont’ even know they are there.

    Christmas present for the wife

How about this is a gift for my wife. Because her earbuds from Apple. We’re causing irritation in her ear canal. She in the car all day and she says these are way better then Apple earbuds. The sound quality is better and there’s no irritation from having them on all day. In the past the Apple one would go dead. On her all the time. Now she goes all day with them on. FYI she works 9 to 15 or more hours 6 days a week. Buy these you will love them.

    UPDATE:

S0, I have the Shokz Open Comm, which has it’s own issues, but these were to be a kind of back up as I find wearing the open comms too long gives me a headache. (and the boom mic is hit/miss).The sound in the open fit is awesome. Much better than bone conduction, however, I’m not sure about the noice cancellatoin as the still kinda of sit on the outside of your ear. You can still hear people talk, which is the point, so I’m not able to rate that.My big concern is losing one. I’ve had one side or the other come off outdoors, three times now, and I’m lucky I didn’t lose one of the buds. They stay on fine for hiking or walking, but don’t wear them doing hit exercises, lifting overhead, etc. They do bug the skin on my ear after a few hours. (UPDATE- Like a new pair of shoes, your ears do get used to them after wearing them a while- and now I don’t even know they’re there.)So I’ve been travelling quite a bit, and I still bring my Open comms, but still have same old issues. THese Open Fits work great. UPGRADE to 5 stars. SO SIMPLE TO SET UP AND USE.

Easy to connect and sound quality is good. Have not experienced any issues with battery life, but a new acquisition.NO VOLUME CONTROL on buds. Just ON/Off and skip forward or reverse. These are great!

I’ve had trouble with good headphones ever since my 1st generation Pixel Buds got eaten by my dog, I struggled with the ear buds style as I hate things in my ear canal, and even the over the ear style made my ears sweaty/greasy. These fit and sit right over and sound great, I mean I was sceptical about the sound, some say it lacked bass and initially they do, but turning bass boost on in the app solved that problem. They are also multipoint after a firmware update so that solved another potential issue of taking Teams calls on work laptop and listening to music/podcasts on my phone.I simply cannot recommend enough.

    Comfortable

I couldn’t use in-ear buds due to irritation. After testing 10 different models of “open ear” head phones, I found the Shokz to be the most comfortable and lightweight with decent sound. They use a soft and flexible material, unlike the other brands.

    Love them

Absolutely love these, the fit takes some time to get used to. Switching between these and the OpenRun Pros, can make the fit feel a little weird. But once you get used to it, they’re perfect.Wish the ear clip backing fit a little tighter, and the “touch” controls are tricky. But I figure I’m just not tapping them in the right spot.Overall, these have become my primary headphones since I got them. The case isn’t bulky and the sound is fantastic (for being an out of ear headphone). Will certainly be on the look out for updates or new versions.

    Nice upgrade

The media could not be loaded.

After the Turkey Trot this year, my Aftershokz snapped when I was taking them off. Words were said and pouting was done. Within the hour these were purchases. So happy with this upgrade. My biggest complaint of the last pair was not being able to wear them for long periods of time without being active, as they would squeeze my head and cause a headache. These being two separate pieces, that is not an issue. The sound is good, connection is easy, and have a good battery life. These have been worn while the kids are at the park and on walks and have found that they block out sounds more than my old pair of Aftershokz, but if a person close to me wants to talk to me, hearing them is not an issue. As for things that are not great. I have a lot of hair and most times than not, my hair will get tangled or will pull when putting the headphones on. Though these are pretty lightweight, after a while of wear, 2-3 hours, they become heavy and my ears start to ache. All these “negative” things are personal, and may not be an issue to others.A neat feature of these is they can connect to two devices at once. This is not something I can use in every day life, but I can see the the need of it.

    Best open ear headphones

I have ear issues so i can’t put anything in my ear so I was looking for open ear headphones. These are definitely good the sound is good you actually can kinda feel bass which is nice. Also there is no sound leakage but I can still hear everything around me. I charged them once and it’s been three days so for me battery life is pretty long. They do feel loose like they might fall off but they won’t. They only con for me is it’s hard to wear them with glasses on, my frames are pretty thin and I still have trouble.

    Searched for comfortable non-intrusive

After searching years for buds that don’t hurt my ears after 1 blessed hour, don’t fall off, and have decent quality audio, I think I finally found a really nice set here. Can’t tell you how much I’ve wasted looking for a comfortable convenient pair. I’m half tempted to buy a backup pair as tech tends to disappear and change so quickly these days. Love these so much. Also love that I can still hear around me and they aren’t jammed into my ear canal.

    Wicked Cool

I’ve tried two other bone conducting headphones, the kind that are attached and go around your neck. Returned both. Didn’t like the fit. These are way more comfortable. They sit just outside the ear canal, allowing you to still hear your surroundings.Sound is great! I like that you can customize the controls on the pods by using the app. And you can customize the EQ modes as well depending on your sound preferences. And… you can pair to two devices at the same time.My only complaint is they are expensive. So they get 4 stars from me.

Works, but I get strange feedback sounds

I really wanted earphones that were both bluetooth and sit outside my ears. I need them to wear at the office for online business meetings and connect through my computer. I had tried other options, but they either stopped working, or I couldn’t get the volume to adjust on my computer and the volume was too loud. Both worked fine with my phone, so I know that they work under other conditions. The volume can be adjusted from my computer (yay!); however there are two issues. One is that I’m getting a feedback sound. It’s a mid-pitch rather than a high pitch noise, so it’s not going to kill my hearing, but it’s frequent enough to be annoying. For the price, I would expect there not to be any feedback. The other issue is that you cannot control volume from the earphones, you must control the volume from the computer or phone. This is not a deal killer, but something others should know before they purchase these.Another issue is that they are not touch sensitive enough, so it’s really hard to get that working right. It takes several tries to double tap. It works, but you need to be persistent. I may not have the right touch down yet. They are still new to me.They are very comfortable though. I have small ears, and I’m not concerned about them falling out when I move around or eat. With ear buds, they never stay in if I’m eating.

or just HATE earbuds or over and on the ear headphones like i do, you have to try these! I’ve tried the same style in different brands and the over the ear clip were extremely uncomfortable but these ARE AMAZING! I love them so much that even though it is super tempting to return and repurchase them because right after i bought them they LITERALLY went on sale for $30 less, I refuse to part with them. Seriously ya’all, they are awsome! I have tried Beats, Bose, Apple, Anker, Sennheiser, Sony, Plantronics, Audiotechnica, Raycon, Skullcandy, Treblab, JBL, Soundcore, Samsung, JLab and I have hated something about them all, I am PICKY, but these are chefs kiss <3

Significantly better than the original model with the brace behind your head. These are much better in terms of sound quality and audio. Still a little hard to use in a crowded noisy setting like a plane since you can’t plug your ear.

    Excellent for what these are

These have become my regular earphones shortly after finished testing them (these are my third SHOKZ product). I have used them at the office and shopping wearing them hours at a time without any discomfort. Do they have the bass and fidelity of my good wired ear buds that cost around the same? Of course not. However, they sound good enough while allowing to be aware of what’s going on around me at the same time. In other words, they do the job well and for a decent price.Literally, the only reason that keeps me from giving 4.5 stars is the pairing process. You have to press on the earphones in their charging case in a specific fashion and sometimes it takes a couple of times to get it right.Long story short, I plan on purchasing a second pair. I just wish they came in more colors like the other SHOKZ offerings.

    Sound quality

These are just what I wanted. I run and had been using earbuds that went into my ear. This made it to where I could not hear what was happening around me. These work great. I get great sound and I can hear what’s happening around me. I feel safer using these. They are very comfortable. I feel that with them not in my ear canal my ear does not hurt after a long run. I set up a custom EQ and it so much better for me than the factory settings.

    Great sound

I’ve had my share of ear buds, but these are up there as the best. I don’t like the feel of other ear buds that sit inside my ear. Shokz let you hear the sound clearly, while allowing you to still know what’s going on around you. I highly recommend Shokz.
