    5.0 out of 5 stars

Best on the market for sleepbuds

Short version: I love them and have no big issues other than the battery life, but even that is stated on the product listing.Long version: I have a LONG history when it come to noise sleeping aids. It started when I slept over at my significant other’s (SO) apartment. Like most people on Earth, he snores, but unfortunately for me, he snores pretty loud. In addition to that, I am a VERY sensitive sleeper. I’m talking the type of sleeper that as a kid I would go home in the middle of the night because there was a clock in the room or I could hear a parent of the house snoring. This lead to me having to sleep with a loud fan into my adult years. I also have pretty small ears, which will be relevant later.*Backstory* scroll down to bottom for review on the Sleep BudsI tried EVERYTHING. I wore earplugs for an extended period of time (which led to pain that felt like bruises in my ears).I then bought the over the ear headband headphones I found on Amazon (kinda worked but wasn’t loud enough, slid around all the time, and weren’t that comfortable. Overall made for a not very solid sleep and I went looking for another option.)From there we tried the option of getting my SO a mouth guard, to try to fix the snoring itself and not conceal it (he said it was the most painful sleep he had in a while and we ditched that option; if my pain is valid with the earplugs and headband, so is his). Then it was time to look into more experimental things. At the time there were basically NO sleepbuds on the market. It was the weird time where the Bose sleepbuds version 1 were already discontinued due to their battery, as well as other issues. So I hopped on the train for the Amazfit Zenbuds kickstarter. I paid like $80 then waited 6 months or so till Amazfit sent out their Zenbuds. They were honestly great….. until they weren’t. They fit my small ears, allowed for side sleeping, and blocked out about 90% of the noise. For a while they lasted the whole night and I had no issues, but then the Zenbuds stopped staying connected/playing sound. I contacted support, they sent me a new pair. Then the battery stopped lasting all night. Okay, no worries, I’ll just buy a second pair off amazon to last throughout the night. Then one of those stop keeping battery. Contact support, they send me a new pair. I will say that the Amazfit customer service was pretty great. When I explained that even though I was having issues I really needed to keep both pairs of earbuds in order to attempt to get through the night, they just sent me the new pair and then gave me a free packing label to send back the defective pair. But this happened sooo many times. I probably went through a total of 6-7 Amazfit Zenbuds.During this time the Bose Sleepbuds version 2 came out and I gave those a try. Great battery, buut they were way to uncomfortable for me. I thought I just needed an adjustment period so I kept wearing them (around 2 weeks). I stopped when my inner ears started bleeding. My SO now uses them every night to help drown out our loud cats (he loves them). But they are now also discontinued.I contact the Amazfit team AGAIN because now one of my zenbuds will not charge in the case. They inform me that the Zenbuds are now discontinued and I can send in my defective ones for their Powerbeats Pro. I do that, buuut what now?*Product Review*I’m desperate because I’ve tried everything and it seems all attempts at creating good quality sleep earbuds has ended with discontinued products. I go to amazon and find these. Here are the pros and cons I have experienced:Pros:- great sound- Bluetooth compatible (I listen to ASMR before bed so this is great!)- great noise library (although I’ll admit I just use the snoring cancelation noise they have, which is so great in itself, works awesome)- So comfy (I had to figure out what worked best for me but once I did they are so comfortable and haven’t fallen out while I’m sleeping at all, and I turn a LOT while I sleep. I ended up having two different tips for the earbuds, one with the small and one is the one without the wing)- Its on Amazon so super easy returns if they don’t work for you!Con(s):- only a 6 hour battery life, BUT they do say that on the listing. I hate it when the listing will say more time than the actual product gives, so the transparency is great.Overall I will 100% buy another pair of these when my final pair of Amazfit Zenbuds stops working and I need another set of sleep earbuds to last me throughout the night. The price is high, but seems to be in line with similar products I’ve purchased in the past. And to be honest, cost means nothing when it comes to getting a good night of sleep, am I right?

Update – Problems Solved, Great Product & Cust. Service

Update 6/1/23:Anker customer service reached out to me, umprompted, to try to fix the problem. They offered me a full refund, or the option to send me a brand new product to see if a replacement would function as intended.I took several days using the replacement set that they sent me, making sure that I used each feature. I am happy to report that each feature works as intended. The earbuds still have a slight tendency to disconnect if I lay on a particularly thick pillow on my side, but that is inherent in the design of these earbuds unfortunately, and is addressed in the user manual. I am going to update the product to four stars accordingly. The replacement set of earbuds that I received work exactly as described in the product description, down to every feature. The star I knocked off is simply because of the tendency of the earbuds to disconnect when sleeping on your side. These are the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever laid in on my side. If they could get them to stay connected, they would have every other manufacturer of sleep earbuds beat by a mile. There are no other sleep earbuds on the market that do everything these do.All of the other features included, including the alarm, and the switching to your chosen white noise when it detects that you have fallen asleep are fantastic. The sound quality is fantastic. And I think the fact that I am leaving this review speaks volumes about their customer service. They really seem to take pride in their product. I have used Anker phone chargers and cables for almost 10 years, I own a set of their Q45 Space Bluetooth headphones, and I love them.Thank you to Anker for fixing this problem. I really didn’t want a refund; I wanted the product to work, as there is no other product on the market that does exactly what these do. Anker made sure that happened.I am leaving my previous review up for documentation, and for other people to see that if they have the same issues that I did, that they got a bad set and may need a repair or replacement.Original review for reference:The principle problem with these earbuds is that they do not stay connected to your audio source. If a pair of headphones can’t play music, what good are they? These absolutely will not stay connected to my phone no matter what I do. I carefully read the manual. I used the largest eartip size that fit me, I make sure that the outside portion of the earbud is completely unobstructed by my ear canals, I have turned off every other source of blutooth in my room, I’ve reset the earbuds multiple times, I’ve updated my phones firmware, made sure the soundcore app is updated, and attempted to fall asleep on my back. Either one or the other will disconnect without fail in music mode within minutes of starting a spotify track or a youtube video. They also do not track my sleep at all, which was a factor in my purchase of these buds. The alarm has never worked once, and they do not ever switch into sleep mode and play the preloaded sleep sounds.I really wanted these to work. I have Anker wireless Q45 spacephones and they are fantastic, as are their phone chargers and cables. These are the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever worn to sleep in. I sleep on my side part of the time, and I can barely feel them in my ears even when on my side. When they do connect, they sound really good. The ear tips they come with are high quality. They stay in your ears and make an occlusive seal, providing excellent passive noise cancelling, making my partner’s loud snoring a distant whisper. They even have great battery life, although this may be because they simply never work long enough to drain the battery.I would have returned them, but I spent so much time trying to fine-tune how I was using them, making certain it wasn’t user error and trying to get them to work that I unknowingly missed the 30 day return window. Now I have a $150 pair of earbuds that do nothing. So much potential, such a massive let down by Anker. These things are going to tank their brand’s reputation.

Not effective – active noise cancelling is better

I really wanted to like these, but after a few nights use, I ended up returning them. Here’s my experience:Good – incredibly tiny! They actually fit inside your ear – which is awesome for side sleeping. BY FAR the smallest earbuds I’ve ever had. Also love the ear tip design – i wish they were copies by othersBad – Nowhere near enough battery to get through the night in sleep mode – where it plays whatever soothing sounds you’ve pre-loaded. I believe the claim was 10 hours in sleep mode – I got something more like 4 or 5. This also meant I couldn’t use the alarm feature (which I was excited about) – because the battery was always dead by wake up time, so no alarm. Also, the auto-volume feature would get too loud when it was trying to mask my wife’s snoringI also own Soundcore’s Liberty 4 NC earbuds and I actually find them superior – for sleeping – than these. They easily make it through the night and their active noise cancelling is much more effective in blocking out my wife’s snoring than the noise masking approach that these use.

A good solution for side sleepers but some quality issues

Initial Review:I have only been using the Anker soundcore A10 buds for a few nights now, but I wanted to share my initial experiences with them, since I know there are likely lots of people looking for alternatives to the Bose Sleepbuds II, which have been recently discontinued.First off… I ordered a new set of soundcore A10, and Amazon/Anker sent me a box that had already been opened/used and was missing parts (the USB-C cable). I quickly returned that package, and Amazon/Anker sent me a box that looked like it actually was a new item the second time. These are the buds I will be reviewing. I only mention the above, because it looks like Anker might be trying to pass off factory renewed buds as “new”, which is a bit distressing.I’ll compare these to the Bose Sleepbuds I and II, which I have been using for half a decade at this point. On the pros side for the Anker soundcore A10:- I love that the Anker sleepbuds allow me to listen to YouTube/Music and seamlessly switch them into sleep mode with a double tap to the right earbud.- I have had no issues with the earbuds falling out. I am using the largest ear tip, and wings, and they are quite snug. I find that the ear tip actually does block out quite a bit of ambient noise on its own.- They are as comfortable for side sleeping as the Bose Sleepbuds II. I don’t really feel them in my ear at all.- In contrast to other reviewers, I actually found the app quite nice. It seems a lot more functional than the Bose app for their Sleepbuds (which hasn’t been updated I think since 2018).- There is a good selection of sleep noises, including two that are specifically for masking snoring noise.- Lastly, the Anker A10 are more reasonably priced, compared to the now defunct Bose offering. On the cons side for the Anker soundcore A10:- Battery life – When the Bose Sleepbuds were new, they would last 8+ hours without any issue at max volume. The Anker A10 barely make it 6-7 hours for me. Yes, I could reduce the volume to the midpoint, but at that volume it doesn’t block out enough noise to be useful. One of the things I am trying out to adapt to the shorter battery life is to configure the A10 to only play for 2 hours in sleep mode at a time. If something wakes me up in the middle of the night, I can just tap the left earbud twice to put on sleep mode again for another 2 hours. I am hoping that this doesn’t cause me to wake up more during the night, but figuring that I really don’t need the buds to be playing all night long, just during my periods of light sleep. I’ll update this post after a week to let folks know how this approach is working.Overall, I’m happy with the Anker soundcore A10 sleep buds so far. They are a welcome successor to the defunct Bose Sleepbuds II and have some neat features that the Bose did not. I just wish there was some way to make the battery slightly bigger, without compromising the ability to slide-sleep in them. Four stars for this product, with the single star removed being for the relatively short battery life.Update 2023/06/04:I’ve now owned and used (very heavily) the soundcore A10 for about two months. Overall they are holding up well, but I have encountered one issue that concerns me. I encountered the issue while sleeping several times, and so I decided to run some tests on the earbuds during the daytime to try to replicate the issues. The short is… the right earbud consistently dies about 1 hour before the left does. Overall, I don’t have any concerns about the battery life. It’s shorter than I would like, but as I stated in my original review, it is within the specifications Anker provided, so I have no room to complain. But I do find it odd that the right earbud dies an hour before the left, even when playing only sleep sounds for the entirety of the session (which I assume is a balanced noise output and should drain both earbuds at a similar speed). My only explanations for why the right earbud dies before the left is either:1) The right earbud’s battery is defective somehowor2) The right earbud has some additional processing in it which causes it to drain faster. (Perhaps it is maintaining the bluetooth connection to my phone?)I opened a support case with Anker and they did (to their credit) reply promptly. However, they really did not address at all the issue that I raised. Their email focused on how to improve the battery life of the earbuds in general (all of which I knew from reading the docs). They never touched my comment about the right earbud seeming to have less battery life than the left. I’m still waiting on further response from them, and will update this review when I get more information. For now, I have to take off a star for this issue because over time it could lead to the right earbud becoming unusable (if the battery life of the right earbud continues to worsen).Update 2023/06/09After running some more tests, Anker technical support did determine that the right earbud must be defective. I was consistently seeing it die about 1 to 1.5 hours before the left earbud. This could just have been a quality control issue rather than a design flaw. They are, graciously, shipping me a replacement and I will re-run my tests to see if the right and left earbuds have roughly the same battery lifespan. Hopefully the unit I got was defective, and the replacement will work normally. I will update this review once I have gotten the replacement and run some tests. To note… It took a bit of back and forth with support to get them to understand that the issue wasn’t about battery life in general, but about a specific issue with the right earbud. But, once we got on the same page and I provided some detailed testing info, they were very quick to agree to the replacement. I’ve found their technical support to be pretty decent to work with, which is a very rare thing in consumer electronics. I’m going to add a star back just purely based on how their technical support have handled things thus far.

Great for sleep, just as advertised

I am very pleased with the soundcore a10 headphones! I like to listen to ASMR stuff as I go to sleep, so having something with clear directional audio is an absolute must for me. At the time of writing I’ve had them a little over 2 weeks and I’ve been using them each night. I would like to share my major positives about these headphones compared to my previous sleep headsets and cover a few criticisms. The main reasons I enjoy this headset over other sleep headphones I’ve tried are the comfort and the sound quality. I tried using normal in ear headphones but I found it started to hurt my ear if I use them for an all-night session. I switched over to using the headband style sleep headphones after that and had been using them for the last 2 years. Those solved the pain problem, but the audio quality was poor and too quiet along with having to deal with a sweaty headband in the morning. The a10 headphones are comfortable enough that I leave them in all night and will go about the first chunk of my morning with them still in. The sound is significantly clearer than what I was using before and I can get higher volumes for those really quiet videos. I no longer have to choose between getting clear audio or having a comfortable experience thanks to these headphones. Before I purchased the headphones I saw two main complaints from other Amazon reviews. First was poor battery life and second was poor Bluetooth range. I do wish the battery life were better, but The Bluetooth range is just fine in my use. The playtime on these headphones is about 5 hours with how I use them. In comparison the headband headset I’m comparing against would hold up for a full eight or nine hours of playtime. This means I can’t just set content to play and expect it to run all night, I have to set shorter one or two hour playlists now if I want to still be able to listen to something after waking up midway through the night. I have never experienced any problems with the range of the headset, but I’ve also been no more than 30 ft away while trying to use them and at most one wall in the way.The comfort and sound quality more than makeup for my mild disappointment with the battery life. I also do not see how giving longer battery life would be possible without sacrificing the small size necessary for comfort while side sleeping. I strongly recommend these headphones for anyone who cares about getting high quality sound while trying to sleep.

Very inconsistent and not worth the hassle of it affecting your sleep

Updated:Customer service for Anker is amazing! They helped resolve some of my issues and although this is not a pair of sleeping earbuds I can fully recommend, the company of Anker is one I can trust. Thanks!Original Review with 1 star:I bought these because I was debating on getting Bonamour sleep earbuds, but they don’t offer easy free returns like Amazon. I didn’t want to waste $120+ for something that didn’t work out and it’s a good thing I tried these earbuds here on Amazon since this pair most definitely needs a return. At first look, it didn’t look too much smaller than my Samsung buds, but when you put them on they are small enough where they don’t stick too far out of your ear so it is fairly comfortable to use as a side sleeper. The wing tips caused some discomfort in my ear after a couple hours of use, so I mainly just used the silicone cover and small ear tip. Unfortunately, I always wake up and these are out of my ear and lost in my bed sheets.Battery, when fully charged, hasn’t been too big issue for me, but unfortunately they are never still on when I wake up even after a 4-5 hour sleep. Also, the charging is very inconsistent. I would place them in the charging case, but many times only one of the earbuds would charge. I thought maybe it was placement but they magnetically click into place and there is nothing blocking the charging contact at all. The first few times it happened and I was stuck using just one earbud, I thought it was my fault but it consistently happened every other night I used them. It also sometimes it takes a few opening and closing of the case with the earbuds in it to connect to my phone.Concerning the app, I tend to leave the earbuds on music mode and listen to my own choice of sounds to sleep, but I also have it set to switch to sleep mode when it detects me asleep but I can’t say for sure if it’s ever worked. I probably can’t tell because I fell asleep and wouldn’t have heard the actual sleep sounds on the app, but also the earbuds are never in my ear when I wake up and if they are, they are dead even after only 4 hour sleeps between shifts. I feel the app is more of a gimmick than something working. The sleep curve already said I fall asleep 57% faster than other users even before I even first used the earbuds. Also the sleep data is not accurate, but I wouldn’t really trust it to be since they’re just earbuds. Just another reason why the app seems like just a gimmick. I wish the app would show the percentage of battery or how much time is left on my earbud so I can at least get some kind of reading of how long these are supposed to last. There was just too many issues that wasn’t worth the price tag at all. If I didn’t know these were Anker, I’d guess these were cheap $40 no brand earbuds. The only thing this purchase helped me learn is that earbuds advertised as sleep earbuds can definitely feel comfortable to wear as a side sleeper, which is the main reason I wanted sleep earbuds to begin with. I just have to find that right pair and it’s definitely not from Anker.

    Most comfy for side sleepers

These are by far the most comfortable I’ve tried. Way more comfy than airpods pro. These come with several sleeves and with a little experimenting, I was able to achieve a cozy fit that allows me to fall asleep on my side & not be bothered by the device. And they sound incredible. I was blown away at how good the music sounds, although I only use them now as ‘sleep buds’ & listening to spoken word or the built in nature sounds / noise sounds. The app comes with several sleepy soundbits / noises – you pick one, then ‘apply’ and the app installs it. Then, switching between ‘sleep mode’ (where they play your selected pre-loaded sleep noise), or your music or podcast etc is as easy as a double tap on the device. This is great because you can switch modes without having to touch your phone / app. Very clever design. They do not ‘cancel’ ambient noise so if your partner snores loudly, you either turn these up – or try another brand that does active noise cancelling. Highly recommend these buds for side sleepers.

    Is it worth that Price?

This product actually looks like it should cost the amount that it does. The way the case glides open and the fancy little lights. Luxurious vibes for sure. But aside from the bells and whistles it does do what its intended to do. I have used this product during an extremely anxious time. And I was able to atleast get some sleep that I may not have gotten at all without it. The main reason I got these was to be able to lay my head on either side and not feel the bulky ear buds pressing inside my ear. These work! There not perfect. You can still feel a small amount of pressure against the inside of the ear. But its a huge improvement compared to traditional ear buds like my galaxy buds pro. If I’m able to fall asleep with these even with my recent challenges with anxiety then I’d say that’s a good indicator of its comfort level… at least for my ears anyway. It doesn’t do well with noise cancelation at all. I’m not sure if this is intended to hear an alarm maybe. Be nice if they had a customization for noise cancelation. Lastly it also comes with access to an app. You use this app to track your sleep patterns which I thought was pretty cool. For the most part it seems accurate tracking how often I woke from light to deep sleep. I say it seemed right based on how I thought my sleep quality was after reviewing the results the next morning. Some other helpful settings allow the ear buds to reduce volume when it detects you’ve fallen asleep. It also will let you set whether the ear buds turn off at a certain point or stay on until you put them away. You also can choose what sound you would like to hear from a somewhat decent but predictable list. It also has a portion of the app that has soundscapes. From what I can tell these are used seperate from the sleep side so thats kind of poop. You can make your own soundscapes by combining 3 different sounds. There are many options to choose like water, wind, birds, or crickets. While I haven’t figured out how to use this on the sleep side of the app it would be great if they have that feature. If nothing else it could work for meditation. Didn’t have any problems with it dying in the middle of the night. So is it worth it? I’d be willing to bet there is something cheaper that meets the need for a more comfortable ear bud. But if your looking for the fancy design and app this might be as good as your going to get. I still say it’s over priced. But Lord knows I was willing to pay whatever I needed to help improve my sleep during this time.

Great for this side sleeper…and not just while sleeping!

I’ve only had these Anker Sleep A10 Bluetooth sleep earbuds for less than a week, so I can’t comment yet on long-term reliability, but so far, I am thrilled! My wife and I sleep with multiple fans running, both to keep us cool and to provide white noise. So, I did not need sleep earbuds to block out noise. What I wanted them for was to provide soothing music while trying to fall asleep. I have tried normal earbuds, but they are wired (strike one) and uncomfortable if I lay on my side (strike two). I have also tried a sleep headband, but I don’t like the feel of the headband while trying to sleep and it was hard to keep the speakers over my ears. Also, it was wired too, which is not going to work with the amount of tossing and turning I do.As I researched possible wireless earbuds that would be comfortable for a side sleeper, I discovered that the Bose Sleepbuds II had been popular but were discontinued. I wouldn’t have wanted them anyway since, as I said, my main reason for wanting sleep earbuds was to listen to music, and the Bose Sleepbuds could only play downloaded white noise type sounds. After reading the reviews of these Anker A10 Bluetooth Sleep Earbuds, I was concerned about the reviews that said they did not maintain connection reliably. I was also bummed that the manufacturer themselves said that they are not really meant for reliable Bluetooth connection while outside, since I was hoping to have these earbuds be my one set of wireless earbuds, both for sleep and for walking. For the same reason, I was somewhat concerned about the reviews that indicated the sound quality was not great. But given the few options out there, I decided to order anyway. They were delivered the same day!I was immediately impressed with the heavy packaging and the (almost overwhelming) number of optional ear tips and wings. I was also impressed with the attractive look and quality build of the charger.I was initially confused by the amount of information, prominently displayed in the case, on how to fit the earbud in my ear. I figured earbuds are earbuds and you just push them in until they are comfortable. But I took the time to read the info and started to understand that it is CRITICAL to fit the earbud correctly. Of course, you want to fit it for comfort, especially while sleeping. And, of course, you want them to sound as good as possible. But I quickly understood that these small earbuds, needing to fit flat into your ears to be comfortable while sleeping, could easily have their Bluetooth connectivity compromised by having your ear come in contact with the important antenna areas on them. Also, I had never had earbuds with wings before and had to read the instructions on how to properly insert them and then rotate them to “lock” them in place.I’m so glad I took the time to understand that. I was lucky that the default tip and wing fit fine in my ears and lock in place well. I may experiment with others someday, to see if they can be even more comfortable, but they are plenty good by default. And, looking at how they fit in my ears, I could see that it looked like the proper fit shown in the instructions and this has led to me having no problem at all with the Bluetooth connectivity! Not only have they stayed connected while sleeping (and tossing and turning), but I have been able to use them outside while walking the dog. They ARE sensitive to being blocked, but the only time I’ve been able to notice this is when covering an ear with a hand (when I was testing how well they blocked outside noise) and when putting my arm across my ear (in one of my weirder sleep poses). For sound quality, I have no complaints. I have never had high-end earbuds, so I’m not the pickiest. They sound fine to me in the music I’ve listened to, with good bass and treble response. The battery life is not an issue for me at all for me. I have them in the mode where they change to “sleep mode” (playing the downloaded white noise) when they detect I am asleep. I have the music playing while I try to fall asleep and although it can take me an hour or more to fall asleep, the battery last fine for that and fine for switching to white noise after I fall asleep. I haven’t kept them in all night yet, so I don’t know if the white noise in “sleep mode” could last the rest of the night, but it doesn’t matter to me. One reason I may get good battery life is that I do not have the Soundcore app running AT ALL when I’m sleeping. I don’t need the sleep monitor function because I already know that I’m not a good sleeper! LOL.For comfort, while side sleeping, I find them pretty good but not perfect. I have never liked even regular foam earplugs in my ears though, and I find these at least as comfortable as those. I get used to them pretty quickly each night and I haven’t tried yet experimenting with other tips and wings, since it has not been a big issue. My needs are not the same as everyone else, but I am thrilled with these wireless sleep earbuds so far. Not only do they give me the music I want while trying to fall asleep, with the added bonus of extra white nosie after I’ve fallen asleep, but I’ve also been able to use them to listen to audio books while walking the dog. 5 stars from me, for sure. At least so far.

Great option to block out snoring

My partner snores and I am a fairly light sleeper. Not a great combination. It had gotten to the point where one of us was taking turns on the couch every night just to get some sleep. Then I found these ear buds which, overall, are great. It takes some experimentation to figure out how to prolong the battery life, though. If you set them to continuous play, even on sleep mode, you only get about 5 hours of use max. The right bud will ALWAYS die before the left one because, as customer service explained it to me, it’s the one receiving information so even if you make the left bud the control bud (ie the one you tap to pause, play, etc), the right will still drain faster.I was concerned at how much faster the right was draining (the left would have 3 bars while the right had only 1) so I contacted customer service. They had me run a bunch of tests and gave some suggestions too. They recommended turning on the Smart Switch so that it automatically switches to sleep mode when it detects you’ve fallen asleep. This wasn’t relevant to my issues because I only use the ear buds in Sleep Mode (they will drain much faster in Music Mode, fyi). They also recommended turning on the Smart Volume Control, decreasing the playback duration and closing the app once the ear buds are connected. The last tip seemed to help the most, combined with decreasing playback duration. I don’t love the Smart Volume Control because sometimes the ear buds are “detecting” that I’m asleep when I’m not yet and will fade out the sound, which fully wakes me up so I have to tap them back on. I set the duration to an hour, which is generally enough for me to fall asleep and then if I wake up at all during the night (which happens frequently) I just tap them back on and they play for another hour. I can do that about 5-6 times before they die which is enough for me but might not be for some users. If you’re wanting ear buds to play for a full 7-8 hours, you won’t be happy with these.Overall, I really like them. The Snoring Attenuation noise really does block out my partner’s snoring 95% of the time and after making necessary tweaks to extend battery life, I haven’t had many issues in that regard. Connecting them is a little irritating, especially since it does seem to be necessary to close the app before going to sleep. It pretty much necessitates keeping your phone right beside you. You have to at least open the ear bud case and click to connect them on the app. Once they’re connected, you can swipe the app closed. But I have had a problem a couple times with the ear buds somehow disconnecting in the middle of the night. The battery isn’t dead but when I try to tap the ear bud to turn them back on, nothing happens so I have to sit up, grab my phone off the charger, open the app, reconnect and close the app again. It’s only happened a few times so it’s not a dealbreaker but it is annoying when it happens. The sleep data function is worthless. Half the time it shows me nothing or it shows me the same data for every night (it’s currently showing me the same data for the past 4 nights, which I know isn’t true). This isn’t a function I care about because I use my Apple Watch for that, which is accurate and reliable. But if sleep data is a function that is really important to you, you’ll want to look elsewhere. Finally, what most folks are probably concerned about (I know I was)…are they comfortable? Generally, yes. I have small ears and lots of ear buds hurt my ears. My AirPod Pros make my ears ache after a couple hours. I use the smallest tip for the sleep buds and don’t have any problem with them staying in or causing much pain. Sometimes when I’m laying on my side, they’ll hit a spot that’s a little painful but most of the time I don’t even notice them.I do think that some of the issues I mentioned above (battery life and connectivity troubles and non-functional sleep data) should bring the price down on these by at least $30-40. But they serve the function I needed them to and customer service was very helpful with the battery life issues (though I do think they should advise all users of those tips upon purchase) so I kept them.

Doesn’t play well w iOS , two customer service was disappointing

First pair was a Christmas present .. after following all directions exactly, the right earbud would not charge correctly. Also at Rec setting w/ w noise only, buds never stayed charged all night. Returned , bc customer service didn’t try to troubleshoot anything after I told them everything I’d tried including their online customer service which I spent hours researching for a fix , but nothing you try works !After return bc ANKER swore it was a fluke, recommended return ! Although I read the same complaint over and over after I continued to research. I Ordered another pair per Anker’s Rec paid 30.00 more, which I felt was unfair, but since they are in California it would take ten days plus to deliver AFTER Christmas! For faster ship use Crutchfield for best shipping packaging / time over amazon now they use usps. I still wanted to try another pair bc I desperately need a full night’s sleep. Set up was same, but the earbuds were a different shape ! Hoped this was a upgraded product ; although sound-core said no updates or changes had been made prior to ordering #2 set ? Well, this story went like the first , except when I attempted to get customer service to help w why the right ear bud didn’t charge during the day , they only wanted to open a case. Well, I figured that out just by watching video a few times tried but it’s NOT ANYWHERE IN THEIR EASY DIRECTIONS. If you don’t place earbuds in exactly in the order w left first then right next it doesn’t charge fully! Two: sadly the same story ending. . Everything was set up per instructions and website updated firmware , thought issue was over. Not ! Same exact issue.I did notice all complaints about right ear and failing to stay charged even six hours w zero music only white noise were iOS users !Now, why did I have to go through all of this? and Amazon’s holding refund until inspected – we don’t have a ups store here. Thankfully , only one auto parts had a scanner to prove I returned it!That’s crazy. But , as badly as I needed them to work , I can see why Bose discontinued their buds very quickly .. two, it eats the phone battery life ! So, for now I’ve just installed a free relaxation app on my smart Tv ! It offered more than the soundcore app. I didn’t understand why no one offered to help me , just had me return both items. I’ve been locked down since covid bc of health issues So, this entire experience was unnecessary. I’m irritated w soundcore and I buy lots of anker products ordered from Amazon or Costco next, but this is one time Anker product that is a complete failure. If I could have had them stay on Six hours I probably would have kept them , but they never met goal even w only white noise. My opinion is unless you enjoy useless energy wasted don’t purchase. Bc both amazon and ANKER made things more difficult than what they needed to be. I had to actually fill out a form w amazon as to why I was requesting an RA ? Then, thankfully w everything I always keep every bit of packaging. They went back exactly as sent both times. But, I hope someone can either fix issue, bc I’d prefer small comfy earbuds over my Tv or Alexa playing all night , but with several issues and draining phone battery , Anker you know there is an issue. I’ve never had a complaint w anything ANKER. DON’T waste your time or money – two attempts, and same issue both times with other suggestions on ANKER’s ONLINE SUPPORT FORUM and nothing fixed even one of several issues. Great app is only reason I gave it a 2 score.Either fix flawed technology, or discontinue like BOSE has ! You can still purchase Bose but you won’t have support or warranty. Bc they are no longer produced. CNET – first recommendation ever that failed. Probably tested w android. Those users seemed happy.Fair review. Very disappointed w ANKER service. Amazon as well. They keep cutting things and you will find out most company’s offer free shipping . Your 2 day prime delivery is no more w change to USPS .. My last shipment I haven’t bothered to contact yet. Making it hard to return items for FULLY DISABLED , long term customers who are still paying full price when others EXCEPT disabled are not – won’t last.

Best option to date, though not perfect

My husband ordered (at great expense) the QuietOn earplugs which are supposed to be active noise cancellation, and they didn’t do what I needed (still waiting for a refund, almost a month later) so these were my second try.Pros: They are more comfortable (I’m a side sleeper), have a range of noises to choose from (I use gray noise), and stay in my ears. Battery life is also good – I can get several nights of wear before having to recharge. They really do block the sounds of snoring, which are often loud and in varying frequencies. I even slept through my loud alarm once with these in.Cons: Turning them on requires I use my phone app, which wakes me up more; comfortable up to a point – after 7-8 hrs they hurt my ear canals; The noise options to select from include a lot of flowery (and sometimes loudly distracting) piano tunes overlaid with shrill birdsong or other nature noises – the only ones that don’t seem distracting to me are the white/gray/pink noise, which I use and they work for me.I definitely recommend these. Just know that (per the NYT Wirecutter article) no noise-cancelling product is perfect.

    Absolutely betters my sleep

This review is only related so far as use of while sleepingOn the good, they are comfortable to wear and after 8 days have not fallen out.Very easy to sleep with as a back sleeper, and my guess is they’d be great as a side sleeper (cpap mask forces me on back, but sometimes in morning I’ll take mask off… seemed good on side during that short time)The apparent manner of the default audio, which is what I need, is to download into earbuds via their app so that it loops(my assumption) whichever one you choose to hear ie rain/crickets/windscape whatever from the options givenIf you choose your own music, I presume it would affect battery playtime.Having said that, I am disappointed the battery isn’t lasting longer for me. The left bud has run out of battery twice in 8 days, and I am now waiting until I am literally in bed to put them in. I am guessing it gave me about 8.5 hours from full charge. I’d prefer to wind-down before bed for an hour while listening to rain or music, but battery running out in one ear wakes me up.I’ll for sure be buying their next gen version and am happy I made this purchase

    They Work

These sleep buds do exactly what they are designed to do. The really nice thing is there are multiple ear bud fittings in order to find just the right fit. My only complaint is that they can sometimes begin to hurt your ear if you’re a side sleeper with you ear down to the pillow. I’m sure that’s not an ear bud problem as others will likely find the most comfortable. They are small and do not stick out away from the ear which is nice. There are multiple sounds that can be selected, but only one at a time. Battery life is adequate for me because I only sleep between 7 and 8 hours at the most. Some reviews I read seemed to indicate that was a problem if you wanted them to work beyond about 7.5 and 8 hours. As sleep buds go, I would say for the roughly $90 I paid for them they are worth it. Others were outrageously expensive. These retailed for about $160, but I got them at a significant discount. I rate them 4 stars because they’re not perfect, but I’m fairly particular. At $90, it’s not a bad choice. Not sure if I’d feel the same way if I had paid full retail price.

no volume control for stand-alone sleep mode.

Overall I was very impressed with the quality. i like the fact that there is a sleep mode which does not require phone connectivity. Sleep mode can be preloaded with various sleep sounds / nature sounds. However, there does not appear to be any way to adjust the volume while in sleep mode. In order to adjust the volume, you need to be in music mode, which links the earbuds via Bluetooth and permits volume control through the Bluetooth device.I am a side sleeper and I’ve tried to sleep with other smaller earbuds, including other Anker products. These earbuds are noticeable slimmer, and I was surprised to be able to lay on my side without any pressure on the ear.Ultimately, I gave these four stars because of the volume adjustment issue. I will say however that the preset volume in sleep mode was adequate – loud enough to block outside noises, but not so loud as to be disruptive. That being said, having some additional control would be a useful feature in my mind.

They’re different from Bose, with a combo of better and lacking features

As Bose Sleepbuds are discontinued, these are a good option to try. As other reviewers have stated, it does take some fiddling around to find the perfect combo of fit, features, and volume. Because the Bose version worked perfectly for me on the first try, I was initially frustrated when the Soundcore by Anker ones didn’t, but I kept at it and I’m glad I did.The best thing about these sleep earbuds is the customization options for the ear tips and wings. Bose was more limited. With Anker you can create a variety of combinations, not just the three Bose offered. When I first started out, I stuck with matching small ear tips and wings. I kept having trouble with the bud in one ear either falling out or not making enough of a seal for the sound to be heard, and even the smallest wing tip was uncomfortable when sleeping on my side. So I switched it up. I ended up using the wingless option (not offered by Bose at all) and and a small tip in one ear and a larger tip in the other. Also, the ear tips are shaped differently from the Bose, which has a slightly flared design and irritated my ears when I removed them. The Anker ear tips are rounded and smooth and don’t irritate at all. Comfortable at last.I use only the sleep sounds, not the music function. I’m okay with paying for a product that I use only for sleep sounds because a good night’s sleep is worth it to me. So I was never one who lamented the lack of music integration with my sleep buds. Of course the sleep sounds are different between the Bose and Anker products, but I found one I like and have adjusted to with time.Because I want to conserve battery life, I don’t use any of the other bells and whistles such as smart volume control or sleep monitoring. But I don’t think I’m missing anything without using those features. The volume is set to a different scale than the Bose buds. With Bose, I kept the volume at 25%. With Anker I need to set the volume to 50% to get the same volume of sound, which is still pretty low. This may affect battery life as well. Both the Bose and Anker versions share a deficiency. One bud plays at a lower volume than the other. I know it’s not my hearing because it’s sometimes been the left bud, sometimes the right, with three sets of Bose, and now the left with Anker. Maybe it’s just the nature of the type of device. It’s annoying, but it’s something I’ve also adjusted to.My biggest problem is with battery life. As a result, I use a white noise maker in my bedroom as a back up to help when the buds turn off. I wish I could eke out the same battery life I got with the Bose, but can’t seem to even with turning off all the features and lowering the volume as low as possible to still be able to tune out noise. The only positive to the way Anker handles the battery life is that the sound stops more subtly. I still notice it most of the time when the buds turn off, but it’s not as jarring as the Bose were when they turned off. If you sleep less than I do, this may not be an issue for you.Perfection is elusive in the sleep bud arena but I’m satisfied to have this Anker version as, hopefully, the products continue to evolve and improve.

Frustrating quirks, can’t get the same sleep as Bose gave me

My Bose sleep buds lasted maybe 1-1.5 years, each set. Very disappointing but the sleep I got with them were great. When I could no longer replace them, I went with these because I purchase a lot of portable electronics by Anker and have been satisfied with them. So here’s my comparison, using the Bose as a frame of reference:Fit: The wings are all small compared to the Bose. The largest sized wings have a tendency to just stick out of my ear like actual wings about to take off instead of curling into the ear lobe. The ear tips are fairly good, no complaints. I do not find them any more or less comfortable than Bose, but I sleep on my back generally.Sound: I have never experienced “audio pareidolia” before with Bose but for some reason, no matter how often I try different sounds, I keep hearing tones and sounds. One night I dreamt I kept hearing voices from a neighbor having a party, another night it was 3 tones that kept repeating… all in my head of course, but it drives me a bit nutty. If I hear it before I fall asleep, I often remove the ear buds to see if the sound is in my head (it usually is) or if it’s some sort of alarm. Switching sounds on the fly is not as easy as you’d think, with Bose you just swipe from some pre-selected sounds (warm static was my jam) but this is a TON of babbling brook, cricket, etc… type sounds and a just a few static sounds. Each have to be downloaded and uploaded to the sleep buds whenever you want to use it, so want to go back to last night’s sound? Find it in the list, download it, wait while it uploads and then you’re committed to it. Any changes require you to go through this process. Many a nights I have stood in the dark trying to find a sound that does not make me hear odd brain penetrating sounds.App: Why do I need to set the alarm each and every night? Why can’t we just set a schedule? Also, the most frustrating thing is that sometimes I try to connect the sleep buds using the app, and it just takes me to sleep data, over and over again. I think this is partially my fault, but I’m not sure… I’ll explain why next.Charging/Battery: When I place the buds in the charger, nothing lights up to confirm it’s charging. If I close the lid and open it, then I will get the 2 LEDs to light up but when I’m waking up, this is not something I think of. Mostly I wake up, realize the sound is not playing because the battery died, get annoyed and shove them back in case. Oh, BTW when the battery dies, you don’t get an alarm. I keep turning down the volume, to the detriment of hearing my husband open and close doors while getting ready for work, but I get about 6-7 hours. Like, I know, I’m a fussy sleeper and I need more sleep than the average bear… but it is that unusual to want 8 full hours of sleep? Now, I will say I have failed to charge my Bose as well, but that is on me because the lights on the front light up when they are connected – Anker does not, again you must close and open the lid to get the LEDs to illuminate and confirm.I’m sure you’ve gathered by now that I am fussy AF, fully conditioned by Bose to sleep on command. You are not wrong. Perhaps the reconditioning process is long and arduous, and I need to give it more time. Maybe I will find my Anker equivalent of Warm Static some day and I won’t hear voices and tones. The app could be updated. The things that won’t change are battery life (it’ll only get worse) and these tiny wings.

    Automatic switching to noise masking

I’ve used these for over a year.I listen to audible books as I fall asleep. The soundcore earbuds automatically switch to noise masking when I fall asleep.I have no idea how this works, but I can put my book on as I commute to work in the morning. The book will be in the exact spot I last remembered it. I’ve never had to back up or go forward.Occasionally it has switched to noise masking while I’m still awake. It’s an easy fix to switch back to my book, but this happens very rarely. Occasionally I’ll wake up in the middle of the night, hearing the lovely ocean sounds. If I’m unable to fall back asleep, I just put my book (or some music) back on. Once again, the earbuds will switch back to noise masking when I’m back to sleep.I can say it took a while to get used to wearing the earbuds all night. In the beginning, I would remove them in the middle of the night. I’m so used to them now that I have occasionally wondered why my husbands voice is so muffled! Oops, remove the earbuds and his voice is clear.I think the only con is battery life. It lasts a good 7 hours for me, but I’d take an hour or two more. You do need to be sure you’ve launched the app and put it in “music mode” if you are using it the way I do. Be aware that if you are very still, it may switch to sleep mode before you are fully asleep.I am a side sleeper.

    Sleep earbuds!

I like these! I live in a dorm with roomates, and sometimes I like to listen to YouTube while I fall asleep and this makes it so I can do that. It took a second to pick out the most fitting earbud tips and wings but once I did they fit well and are mostly secure. Sometimes I would wake up to find one had fallen out, but I also toss and turn a lot so if you’re a still sleeper it probably won’t be a problem. Some disadvantages: the battery life isn’t great with music mode, it does say there’s longer battery life with sleep mode but I’m not too particularly impressed with the built in library of sounds, although there are a lot of sounds so if you just like white noise you will definitely find something. I’ve also noticed that the connection gets very dicey and sometimes they don’t connect or they disconnect when I turn over in bed, I’ve weirdly only ever noticed this if I wear both earbuds, and I typically don’t have the issue if I only wear one. They are noise cancelling to an extent, it’s not active noise cancelling, but it’s enough to where my roomates wont wake me up with their snoring or if they get up to go to the bathroom so I’d call that a win. All in all, a pretty good product! I like soundcore products and this isn’t necessarily my favorite, but it does what it is supposed to do perfectly fine.

    Too many connection issues

I spend about 22hrs per day with something stuffed in my ears. During the daytime its my Samsung Buds+ and at night it’s foam earplugs to block noise. I wear things in my ears so much that I have a special ear cleaning routine to prevent infection or wax build up. Long story short I’m a veteran ear bud wearer. The moment someone makes a decent pair of bluetooth earbuds waterproof I’ll also wear them in the shower. That being said, I REALLY wanted to like these Soundcore sleep buds so I could replace my regular foam plugs with something I could use to listen to audio as I fall asleep. Here are my thoughts….- It’s basically a sound machine that lives in your ears. The phone app can load the buds with a single sound machine file that stays stored on the buds themselves so you can use the sound machine function anytime without connecting to your phones bluetooth. This function is called “sleep mode”. Then, you have the option to connect via bluetooth and select “music mode” to listen to whatever you want over bluetooth.- These are definitely made for sleep time and nothing else. When you finally get them working the audio volume is unusually low. I would have to turn my phone volume up to 100% to make the earbuds output a volume similar to 60% on my Samsung Buds+. This is no doubt to extend the battery life. It’s not a problem, just something to keep in mind.- There are no touch controls or physical buttons. They seem to have a vibration sensor inside that senses a tap. You have to hit them very hard to register a tap. This is no doubt meant to avoid accidental input during sleep. Default settings require a double tap for play/pause functions but you can change it to a single tap in the app settings. You would not want to use these ear buds other than for sleep.- They dont have microphones so you cant use them for phone calls.- TOOOONS of connection issues using my Samsung S22ultra phone. I had to fiddle with things for 20min just to get it to connect the first time out of the box. Even after it paired the buds still wouldn’t connect. So I went through the usual troubleshooting steps of turning off bluetooth, returning the buds to the case, turning on bluetooth, opening the case, waiting for them to show connected in my bluetooth settings, etc. Eventually they finally connected but the audio would lapse in and out randomly like there was interference of some kind (there wasnt). My phone was 10″ away from my face. I confirmed the sleep buds are running their latest firmware.- These are definitely the lowest form factor earbuds I’ve ever worn and the designers added special features like the silicone sleeve that surrounds the plastic to make it more comfortable against the ears skin. Despite all that I still cant lay on my side without eventually feeling pain from the ear buds.- Because the sleep buds have motion sensors the app records when your head stops moving and therfore sleep habits such as how long it takes to fall asleep and how often you toss/turn at night. This is a feature I personally appreciate and would use.- The case is symetrical and circular which opens by sliding the lid. When operating via touch in the dark it’s difficult finding the correct spot to push with your finger to open the case. I’m not sure if they made it difficult on purpose or by accident. They added a little embossed spot where your finger presses but it’s still difficult to find by touch alone so I always end up fiddling with the case for awhile if my eyes are closed.- The silicone “olives” are double baffled leading to better sound cancellation than your standard bluetooth buds. I wish everybody used this design.Summary:I can tell the engineers put a lot of thought and effort into making something sleep specific. But, they still arent comfortable enough, bluetooth audio streaming isnt solid, and there are TONS of connection issues with my phone. If it didnt take 5min to get them connected to my phone each and every time, I’d probably still be using them despite any physical discomfort. Unfortunately they dont deliver what was advertised so i’ll be sending them back to Amazon and sticking with my foam ear plugs for now.

TGhey work, don’t get them if you are an audiophile.

Pros:- Lots of adjustable options for the earpiece and rubber sleeve, making sure they can fit just about any ear shape. If nothing else they fit mine!- App has a lot of sound options and you can pipe other media like music or videos through them as well.- Relatively comfortable for long wear.Cons:- Still not perfectly comfortable for side sleepers, but these might be the best I have seen in that regard.- Sleep data is probably not that reliable- use a better more expensive tool for that if you are worried about monitoring sleep health.- Sound profile is…OK. you can’t really get good low bass no matter what I try with both the app’s equalizer and my own. But these really aren’t for audiophiles. They’re just a white noise machine for sleeping that can do a little more beside. If you see them that way, they are a decent value.

    Not What I Expected!

The quality seems top notch. Packaging excellent. Instructions, OK, but not comprehensive enough. In that regard, perhaps it’s me as I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer . . . anymore 😊. It does not mask out noise as much as I hoped for, as my wife’s snoring is still as loud as a freight train. I used it one time and my ears are still ringing the morning after. I hope that goes away. The phone app does offer a fairly wide selection of sounds, but they are not of good fidelity. Perhaps due to the tiny size of the buds. Maybe the best solution is separate bedrooms with extra sound proofing walls in hers. As it stands right now, I’m not getting proper sleep. My wife, on the other hand, wakes up feeling refreshed 🥴.I’ll keep trying. Hopefully finding the sleep sound that works.

    After 6 Month’s Use

Hi previously used the Bose Sleepbuds but had to replace them after leaving them in a hotel room. After using the Anker Sleep A10s for 6 months, here is what I like and dislike.Likes:-Having the ability to play music or use a separate noise generator app. This was a novelty switching from the Bose buds. Over time though, I settled in on using the white noise provided in the Anker app.-The sleep tracker included with the app. This is a useful feature when it works correctly, showing amount of deep sleep time, light sleep time, and awake time. This mostly works well but about once a week, the info from the previous night doesn’t show up. Also noted that some of the times shown for waking don’t line up with actual time.-Price. The Anker headphones are cheaper than the Bose (when they were still being made). The Anker earbuds are a decent product at a decent price.Dislikes-Battery life. I keep them on continuous play, using the internal snoring attenuation and using get about 7 hours before one or both buds die. Not a huge deal except that the in app alarm then doesn’t work so I have set backup alarms for when this happens. Also, the sudden change in noise when they die can wake me up.-Speaking of the alarm, the interface leave a lot to be desired. No repeat functionality so you have set it nightly.-Getting the earbuds sitting in the recharging case correctly can take a couple of tries. Had to get used to double checking that the lights came on to avoid finding out at bedtime that they didn’t charge even though there was an audible click when putting them in the case.In general, I preferred the Bose headphones but the were more expensive and they are no longer available except on the aftermarket. The Anker are mostly good enough but if I ever have to buy new headphones I will probably try some other products to see if there is something better out there.

    They Work

I can relate to most of the reviews about the Bose sleeping buds, the my cost was approx. $250.00, they worked well, the app didn’t drain the phone battery BUT they did stop working between 1.5-2 years. I can’t really say they were a waste of money cause as we all know….we can’t put a price on a good night’s rest. These buds, soundcore, seem to be working just as well at masking the noise and sounds that usually wake me up and, for now, they hold their charge and both ear buds allow me to sleep for 6-8 hours. I leave them charging most of the day, I figure, I used them for 6-7 hours at night so they must charge for that long. I will come back and update my review to confirm similar issues being reported.

Fixed – Fails to load sound tracks from library

Below is my original review. Since then, I deleted the the device and reinstalled and reconnected. Seems to have fixed the problem on loading from their library. However, the right earbud does seem to Loo’s connection regularly. Moving it to 4 stars as it is a good replacement for the Bose sleep buds.Save your money. Worked once. Then loses connection to right earbud. Additionally, try to load new sounds from library in app – says 100% uploaded to ear buds – pauses for 30 seconds then errors put. ALL sound files now have same error. Save your money. Will try support again but not expecting a positive outcome.

    Great! But..

So I wanted to use these a fair bit before making this review. Iv used them for about 7 days and they are very nice. I enjoy the feature that detects when you are asleep and it turns on your custom sleep sound. I normally fall asleep to ASMR and waking in the morning to nice soft music or rain sounds is quite relaxing and I feel calm when I wake up. Now i’m pretty much a all the time side sleeper and I will say I get slight discomfort from them in my ears sleeping on my side. Its nothing to wake me up in the middle of the night but it is there. Also I have very small ear holes and they have a few sizes that i’m sure will be fine for most everyone. But for me I have always avoided in ear buds. The smallest size is/was to big for my ears but I decided to tough through it and to try and “stretch” out my ear holes. Is definitely starting to work but it hurts less and less every night. Depending on your pillow i’m sure the side sleep pain will differ. I have a purple pillow and its not bad. I have yet to mess with the audio mixer in the app, other than to turn the bass boost on in the default setting. Overall really great for what they are and i’m glad I have them.

    Great replacement for the sleepbuds.

I’ve got a second set of bose sleepbud 2’s, and the right earbud just refuses to connect anymore. Those things have been so solid and comfortable I was dreading having to try another product. Honestly at this price point, it made sense to give these Soundcore A10’s a try. Pleasantly surprised. Comfort level is very good. Sounds options are good. Battery seems to last 7-8hrs or so but i’ll be watching that closely….Surprise! The rubber ear cup portions from the sleepbuds fit almost perfectly on these. It won’t charge with them in place, but they fit and therefore fit comfortably in ear. I haven’t messed around with the other tips included in the box, but it’s nice to see them included. As far as fit/finish, the case is much lighter than the bose case. Is there not much of a battery in this case?Anyway, a few nights under my belt with these and I’m happy I chose this path.

Great Featues & Price but Uncomfortable

I recently forgot my Bose Sleepbuds II at a resort out of the country while on vacation. I had owned them for 2 years and slept with them every night. When I went to buy a new replacement set, I learned that Bose discontinued them so I bought the Soundcore A10s.The A10s offer many more features over the Bose Sleepbuds. You can listen to whatever you choose (music, podcasts, meditations, affirmations, etc.) while you fall asleep in ‘Music’ mode and then the device can automatically switch to ‘Sleep’ mode and play a continuous sound if you choose. You can toggle these modes directly from the ear piece units including having the ability to stop/play in either mode. It has Smart Volume that’s supposed to automatically adjust volume levels based on the competing sounds in your environment (I never used this feature).I had mixed results with the battery life. The results seemed related to the volume level set and the time spent in Music mode. The lower the volume, 50% or less, with ‘Sleep’ mode being the dominant mode yielded better results, at least 7 hours. The battery died sooner outside of those settings. While I love all the features of the A10s, my experience with the earpieces were very uncomfortable. I tried various sizes/tips but I couldn’t find one the fitted as comfortable as Bose. I awoke one night with both earpieces out of my ears, not sure if they fell out or if I pulled them out in my sleep.I’M GOING BACK TO BOSE!I keep googling to see if Bose has come with anything new in the sleep department. In doing so I see that they sell refurbished Sleepbuds II on their website for $229, $100 more than new A10s. Given the comfort that the Bose Sleepbuds II offered from my previous ownership of them, I ordered the refurbished set since it’s the only Bose option currently available. Hopefully in the near future, the next version of the A10s provide the comfort I had with Bose as I’d gladly come back for the features and their great price.UPDATE (8/3/2023)Bose Sleepbuds are returning soon under a new brand: Ozlosleep. Former Bose employees started a new company and will be bringing them back with new capabilites including the ability to stream your own audio. They are targeting for them to still be priced at $250. The comfort is worth it!

    Best option available for insomnia

I have the Bose sleep buds and I will say that I find these a better solution for staying asleep since I can leave their custom sounds (Sand is my favorite) on all night with less sound fluctuation issues. More constant. I’m a light sleeper so if I’m sharing a room with someone snoring I throw on my white house machine, the Bose sleep buds, and my fan.BUT. Where these Anker buds standout is helping me get to sleep. Most days I struggle to “turn off” my brain, and these have been the best thing for me to fall asleep to. I can put on the Calm app or my audiobook with an auto-stop timer (Libby has nice functionality for this) and it will play for the ~hour or so. Usually I doze in this time and I just sleep with the buds in. They offer mild noise isolation (different than noice cancelling) but my partner doesn’t usually snore so that’s plenty to help diffuse the sounds.I notice it I tuck into my pillow a bit too much (I’m a pillow hugger) then the sound will cutout? It’s weird but I’ve learned to accommodate for that whole falling asleep. It has room for improvements and I’ll snag the next iteration if/when those do come out

This device has all sorts of problems.

I’ll start with the positive. These are very light weight and fit excellently into my ears.I wanted something that I could side sleep with. Doesn’t cut it. Maybe all the ear buds advertising that you can side sleep with them aren’t comfortable. I don’t know. So since that didn’t work, I decided to confirm that you can use each one separately. So, every time I wake up and turn over, I use the one that is on the outside. But that only works once. Then to get it to work separately again, I’ve got to completely reset my phone and the device to get that to work again. Not fun to do while you’re trying to get back to sleep. Also, they do say that the ear bud you’re sleeping on may detach from bluetooth. Well, they were right about that.As to all of the other functions, they’re nice but I don’t care much about them.I have another pair of Soundcore earbuds which I’ve had for longer than any others. They are still working great but I really was looking for something that I could side sleep on. Those headbands won’t work because my head is rather small. I thought Soundcore would come through for me. Sorry, but these earbuds aren’t very good.

    World’s okest review

Before I say anything, I am a side sleeper and love sound quality. I am also technology retarded. I am also bad with grammar, But here we goWhat sounds good to me. Beats by Dre wired headphones, dewalt tstak jobsite raido. My 70s JVC stereo with old speakers.Sound quality of these little guys is wonderful. That’s not an issue. Anker makes great stuff afterall. As far as side sleeping with these in, you can but it does feel like there is a headphone in your ear. It will work, but for me, with the world’s most average ears, I can tolerate it for about 10 mins.Everyday life, there great. Longest I’ve worn the. Has been around 2 hours and no issues.

Stay in ears all night. But battery dies

I just purchased these sound buds for my ears a day or so ago. I charged them up(not sure if they charged all the way). They may have cut off in the middle of the night, but I was already in a deep sleep.I love that they connect with my sleep app and I can use it to meditate and wind down at night.I’m an all kind of sleeper and they stayed in my ears all night. I just worry about wax build up and cleaning them(I saw no recommendations on how ). They’re worth the $99 I paid for them.

    Quality device with limited volume

I bought the Soundcore earbuds a while back to help me sleep. They do everything promised to some degree. The sleep sounds are pleasant and they stay in my ears amazingly well overnight, given I tend to sleep very rough. Some other posative notes. They are very resilient. They still work and play music clearly after having been slept on and rolled over many times. They seem to fit very snuggly and securely. I’ve had ear buds before that fell out pretty regularly even when I was just up and about walking. I wasn’t sure how well any would stay in with me laying down and sleeping. But they did stay in and because of how they fit in the ear there was no discomfort even if I lay on my side.I used them for several months but have since stopped. The primary reason for this is just that they are not loud enough. WIthin the first few weeks I stopped using the sleep sounds because the volume was just too low to drown out the noises around me (which is the entire reason I need them). I started listening to music on bluetooth instead but even at that they just aren’t as loud as ordinary headbuds. They just weren’t capable of drowning out my husband’s snoring or my kid playing music loudly in his room. My family isn’t quiet, so these might work perfectly for others. The batteries did run out in the middle of the night but in general they lasted long enough to get me to sleep. The problem came when I woke up again in the night for any reason– they would already be dead.

    Didn’t block snoring

Bought this to block or mask snoring and it did not work. I did not want to turn it up louder because I felt it was already too loud for sleeping. The Bose sleepbuds worked better but I returned those because of ear pain. These are very comfortable and the app works good, they also pair as soon as you open the case which was nice. If I needed them for anything other than blocking the snore beast I would probably keep them.

Make sure you have a good set and not a defective one

My first set was defective. When I changed it to sleep mode it would immediately disconnect from bluetooth and the app on my phone. I didn’t know if this was expected behavior or not because I saw a fair amount of reviews state this happened to them. When it changed to sleep mode they would shut off well before the expected 8-10 hour expected battery life time.I exchanged them through Amazon. Wow I’m glad I did.The new set works as I hoped these would. They do not disconnect from Bluetooth when changing to sleep mode. Now I can see that the default setting would be to turn off after 2 hours when in sleep mode and that was likely what was happening on the original set. However, on the original set because it disconnected from bluetooth when I changed to sleep mode, I had no way of either knowing or changing that setting. So now the real review and tips and tricks that I have found…I’m a side sleeper. I found these to be somewhat comfortable when having both ear buds in. However when directly sleeping on my left side and with the earbud in my left ear, I do wake up with a small amount of discomfort in my left ear. Enough so that I looked for a workaround.I say a work around because sleep mode of the earbuds is designed to have both earbuds in in order to work.So here’s my routine when I put these in.1) Open the case2) Toggle in the app to put them in sleep mode (note the buds are still in the case at this point)3) Go to the alarms and set my alarm4) Take out the right ear bud and put in my ear (hearing the white noise)5) Adjust the volume as needed (while the case is still open. If the case closes, you can’t adjust the volume because it will see that only 1 bud is active)6) Close the case now. At this point I have the alarm I want, the volume I want and only the right earbud in my ear.7) Sleep on my left side. No earbud in my left ear. However because I am sleeping on my left side the pillow muffles the noise out.I have found that the battery last all night long in this way of usage of volume between 50% and 75%.Also of note: a lot of people say to get the Bose sleep buds as an alternative to these. Well, those don’t exist any more. These are really it for an option for sleeping buds outside of the complete no name brands you find on Amazon. Glad I found a good pair and glad I found a method for them to work for me.

    Good but not great

I purchased these after using the Bose Sleepbuds 1 and Sleepbuds 2. I was a huge fan of the Bose buds…. When they worked. So after my third pair of the sleep buds 2 started dying I ran across these at a great price and decided to give it a go. And I am pleasantr surprised. Good packaging and plenty of different size earbuds will be the first thing you notice. Make sure and read the directions on how to get the right fit. The fit you have now might not be as great as you think it is so make sure you RTFM.The app is solid on Android though it took me a bit to figure out you could swipe right to move to different settings. I like the implementation of it.One complaint I have on them right now is that the selection of sounds for sleep seem to lean heavily to water sounds. While I am sure a ton of people like these they just make me think I have to go to the bathroom. I finally found a good sound in the snoring section. However a broader selection would be welcome. The second issue is that the right earbud is magnitudes loud y than the left. While it’s not a show killer it is noticable.Battery life so far is about what they have stated. If you like having them play all night then make sure you close the app on your phone. I don’t even use the app for the most part and just put the buds in and tap on the left bud to enter sleep mode. This allows them to play all night. With the app open on the phone I was getting 4 to 5 hours before they died.I have not used them for music or podcasts but I am curious to try them as a tool to help me focus at work. I will try this in the coming weeks.Overall I am happy with my purchase though I do wish there were a more diverse selection of sounds. I look forward to further updates that may add these.

    I have Mix feelings.

First and foremost. These are extremely comfortable, the fit is amazing, the sound is amazing. Nothing being overpowered. The battery life is insane for the size. Lasted for 8-10hrs for me.Without music they block out outside sound which is huge plus!! I love these howeverWhen it comes to the touch control. For the first afew days I couldn’t figure it out and I still struggle to. Idk if the touch feature for the pair I have is messed up or defective, but it is difficult to control my music. I normal have to just grab my phone and keep it In the bed with me to make adjustments. Vol switching songs etc. And having my phone with me In the bed is something. I’m fully against. So outside of the touch feature which idk how it works yet. I’m struggle on that. Everything else would make this a 5 star. I love the feel the sound the comfort. Everything. Just can’t make adjustments to my sound once it’s in use. Pause play vol and etc.

Not ready for bed time, let alone prime-time…

I took a punt on these because I saw them glowingly reviewed on a news site I trust. Just goes to show you that you should never trust sponsored content. My wife snores, and I’m an insomniac. I use a bluetooth sleep mask wadded up under my head (I’m a side-sleeper) to listen in one ear while a foam earplug blocks her out. After reading the reviews on these, I thought my situation sounded like a great test case. These do have a few good things going for them. They ARE low-profile, well fitting, comfortable to have in while sleeping, and I was surprised that they stayed in rather well (neither fell out, but I’m a very low-motion sleeper, so YMMV in that regard). Yeah, they’re sleek, and have that bougie packaging going for them. That’s where good things end. Now for the downside(s).Many have commented about low audio quality. As an audio professional, I won’t go so far as to say it’s BAD, but it does seem like they scooped the mids out of them, like they’re EQ-ing your listening experience for you, while not having asked. Uhhhh… I’ll do that myself, thanks. Also, and this is a bit on me as the consumer for not reading critically enough: these are in no way active noise canceling ear buds by way of electronics. Notice the careful choice and use of the words “noise blocking”? That’s because noise *blocking* is all you get, by way of something in your ear. The same could be accomplished by an ear plug, or a pillow over the head. Oh, there’s more about “blocking” coming up next…*Biggest issue, and why they’re going back: the Bluetooth SUCKS. Look, I understand that because of the form factor, the size of the Bluetooth receivers is less than half of others in order to make them sleep comfortable. But the device literally only has one job: TO BE BLUETOOTH EARBUDS AND BE BETTER THAN A WIRED OPTION. Well, these things cut out and lose signal when my phone is literally laying in front of my face less than 12″ away from them and a blanket is over my head.* Seriously, these things will lose connection simply by turning your head a few degrees. One ear will suddenly get no sound because the head between them is too thick for the little receivers to work with. Then literally blink an eye, and it’s the other way around.Sleek packaging and ear comfort aside: if you claim to be the better option at something, you probably should be sure you are.I’ll stick with my $12 sleep mask, thanks…

    Good product for the price

Like many others I have challenges falling and staying asleep, and external noise is often a factor, as is the tinnitus I have suffered from for a while. I had the Bose Sleepbuds that I really liked, but one of them died just after the one-year warranty expired, so I decided I was not going to invest another $250 on something with such a short life. I’ve had good luck with Anker products in the past so gave these a try.Overall, I am quite pleased with these given the price is about half the Bose product. They are very comfortable (more comfortable than the Bose product), and the ability to listen to music/videos is a really nice feature that the Bose product lacks. The biggest downside is that the tiny battery necessary to make such tiny buds will not last through the night, which the Bose Sleepbuds managed to accomplish (because they store sounds on the buds and don’t have to maintain a Bluetooth connection to your phone all night). However, I changed my approach to have them on for an hour, and if I’m still not asleep, or wakeup during the night an need to turn them on again, its easy enough to tap the right bud to start them up again. Using this approach they get me through the night. These earbuds are far from perfect. The white sound is not as polished as the Bose versions, and the small buds sometimes will move around in my ears at night. Also, the sleep tracking seems woefully inaccurate, but I have a Sleep Number bed and Garmin watch that both track sleep, so don’t really need yet another sleep tracker. If these earbuds last a couple of years, I will likely but them again. I recommend them as long as you don’t sleep in a continuously noisy environment, in which case if the battery limitations likely would be a deal breaker for you. And don’t expect these to drown out aloud snorer next to you. Hopefully the white noise will be enough so the snoring doesn’t jar you awake, but if you are awake you will still hear the snoring.

    Volume Control and Connectivity Issues

The sound quality and variety of sounds that are available are fantastic.Unfortunately, I had problems with the earbuds almost every night. Most nights, the left earbud volume would randomly go much louder than the right bud. I’d have to readjust volume in the app, or double tap 4 times on the left earbud to get them to sync up at the same volume again. On other occasions, one of the earbuds would completely lose connectivity with the app, and I’d end up only getting sound out of one of them. After almost a week of nightly glitches, I ended up returning these and bought a set of Bose Sleepbuds II. The sound selection on the Sleep A10 was much better, but with the problems I had been having, it just wasn’t worth the trouble (and the constant waking up to fix the problems).I really wanted to like these, and when they were working properly, I loved them. They just didn’t work properly often enough.

    Weird Audio Issues

I’ve been using these earbuds for about 3 months now. I find them to be comfortable to wear, and as others have mentioned, in sleep mode I get about 7 hours on a charge with the volume at about 90%. Unfortunately, I’m having these very strange audio issues that have now reached a point where I’m just no longer able to continue using them. Just as strange, perhaps…I’ve read a lot of customer reviews and to this point, at least, I can’t seem to find anyone else experiencing similar issues??Specifically, I’m having two general sound issues. I’m a side sleeper, and the first issue relates to the volume of the earbud which is against my pillow. When I’m lying in bed, the earbud against my pillow will just randomly start playing at a reduced volume, or the sound on that side will just disappear completely. And here’s the weird part, lol…when this happens, if I LITERALLY move the position of my head about a single millimeter, the sound jumps back to the normal audio level. And…if I then move my head a SINGLE millimeter in the other direction, again the sound volume is greatly reduced, or disappears completely. Now, I know what you’re thinking…it’s got to be the fit of the eartips, right? Well, I’ve tried all the different eartip sizes and unfortunately it’s the same issue. And, besides…how exactly is an inverted “bowl-shaped” eartip contorting itself so as to partially or completely block the metal mesh speaker cover on the earbud? The eartip would somehow have to be “squeezed” shut inside your ear, partially or completely blocking the speaker outlet…just by putting the side of your head on a soft pillow? And then it magically un-contorts itself when I literally move my head a fraction of an inch?? I just don’t get it…The second audio issue is just as strange/frustrating. This issue started after the first couple/few weeks of using the earbuds. Occasionally, when I’m putting them on at bedtime either the left or the right earbud will have no audio whatsoever. The first couple times this happened, I thought maybe the eartips need cleaning? So, I would remove the eartip of the earbud without audio, clean the eartip and then check the audio both with and without the eartip re-installed. Sometimes this solved the issue, and sometimes it didn’t. When this did not solve the audio issue, I then used a purpose-built cleaning brush that actually came as an accessory with the IEM’s that I own (hint, hint, Anker, lol). I would use this small, soft brush to “clean” the mesh metal cover of the earbud speaker. And, even though I could not physically see any debris on this mesh cover, after I’d finished brushing the audio would usually start working again. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, this issue has been happening more and more often, even when I’ve just recently gone through this laborious (at bedtime, no less) process…So, bottom line, I guess…I really want to like these earbuds. Having a comfortable fitting, reasonably long -lasting earbud that allows me to block out noise and get a good nights sleep is a real godsend. But, unfortunately, the above audio issues are becoming a very real distraction such that I don’t think I can continue using these earbuds any more…sigh.

These are ok, but will eventually hurt your ears.

I wear Apple air pods gen 2 (not pro) ear buds all the time. I have small ear holes. My left is larger than my right (I know because my right ear will hurt a lot sooner than my left ear with the air pods). I prefer to sleep on my left side. I primarily bought these for sleep. These will last 7+ hours in sleep mode 3+ hours in music mode. What I’ve learned to do is fall asleep on my right side with the left ear in, because it’ll hurt less for longer, then as my left ear begins to hurt, I wake up, take the left one out, put in the right one, then roll to my left side. I can usually get about 6 hours with this trick, waking up only once. I use the smallest ear cup for both ears. As far as noise canceling or blocking out sound, they are good. I live near an interstate and a busy surface street (not NYC) and I don’t hear any noise with these on. If they were smaller they be amazing. At their current size, they’re ok.

    Good…Not Great

TL;DR comfort: okay not great. Sound masking: needs improvement.First, my sleep has improved. I use a binaural beats app and definitely see a difference in my sleep trends. However, these are not as comfortable as some of the headband style headphones that I’ve tried. I can feel the pressure in my ear when laying on my side. After about a week I have at least gotten used to them enough to keep them in all night. My biggest complaint is these do not block the sounds of my snoring partner as much as I had hoped. I know that they do not use anc but I had hoped for better with the “4 point sound masking. I’ve tried all 3 of the provided tips and still not as good as AirPod pros.

Okay but not as comfortable as Bose Sleepbuds II

I had been a Bose Sleepbuds II user for a while and recently one of the buds stopped working. Since they’re discontinued, I thought I give these a try. I’ve tried them for a few nights now so here’s my take on it:Pros:* The app is fancier than Bose and there are customizations you can do. But I’m old school so I don’t need all that fancy stuff. All I need is to stick to a sound I like and keep it forever.Cons:* Battery life is probably not as good as Bose (on the 1st night, the left ear ran out by the time I woke up in the morning). I’ve taken other reviewer’s advice and close the app for the night to conserve battery. So far they do last at least the 7 hrs that I sleep for all the subsequent nights (even though I did the same for the 1st night, so not sure why the left ear ran out that night).* They are not as comfortable as Bose, but they’re acceptable and don’t bother me enough to affect my sleep (I’m a side sleeper). But I would pay the extra for Bose. The Bose fits me like a glove and I don’t need to rotate them to adjust the angle. With these I need to rotate them as I insert (like the instruction says) to make sure they’re fitted correctly.* The sound is not as immersive as Bose, but they’re acceptable and certainly a much better option than ear plugs. One of the reviewers mentioned the Bose Sleepbuds will be relaunched as another company call Ozlosleep, so I will give them a try for sure. For now I have to decide if I want to buy the Bose Sleepbuds II refurbished or stick with these until Ozslosleep is launched.

Battery doesn’t last enough for an 8 hr sleep even in sleep mode

On the positive side, the A10 sleep buds are comfortable and affordable (relative to, say, quiet on and bose). However, it dies in around 7 hours, even with sleep mode. Most adults need 8 hrs of sleep. I typically set this on at 10pm and expect it to last at least till 6am. I also need an alarm to wake me up at 6am. The problem is this device dies by 5am. This is when I set the volume at around 60% and use sleep mode (not music mode). That’s a pity – I’ve reached out to anker support but I suspect I’ll have to return the unit if it consistently dies well before its advertised duration (10hrs in sleep mode at 50% volume FYI I even tried volume at 40% makes no difference).Update 1 on my engagement with Anker support – I did a few cycles with their standard support. They kept telling me if I am on iOS then it will drain faster. I kept telling them back that my anker is in sleep mode, and I’ve killed my iOS app AND I’ve disabled bluetooth on iPhone so there is 0 way there is a battery drain due to my phone. I escalated, and am quoting my correspondence here. I’ll post what I see when I get a replacement unit: – – – – email – – – -From me:Thanks . Yes I’ve told your support previously that the app in my phone is killed and I even disabled bluetooth in my device (so it cannot possibly be connecting to my earbuds and draining battery). Yes, it is iPhone 14/iOS but given there is no connectivity from phone to earbuds (earbuds is in sleep mode, playing its own local sound) it’s impossible to have an effect. While anker has been gracious to offer me a return immediately, what I am really looking for is a fix. If I have to do a return, I can do it via Amazon without any hassles. I am looking for anker to stand up to its claims of quality (I use many of your products and love them). I don’t even need 10 hrs. I just need it to last 10PM – 6AM (8 hrs).So back to your offer: If you feel I have a faulty device and that normally others will not have this problem, yes, please send me another unit.On Fri, Sep 1, 2023 at 9:14 AM SoundCore Support Team wrote:Dear This is , a manager in Anker’s customer service department. Soundcore A10

I purchased this to use because my husband snores. I have to determine which ear pieces fit best, because I used the ear pods just as they came. The left was a bit uncomfortable. As far as sound goes, I used “rain” and it was quite soothing.

These are ok but not perfect

I’ve been trying to find a comfortable pair of sleep buds that I can play my music or other sleep albums through for quite a while now. I wanted to love these but I don’t really.Pros:I can listen to a preset sleep library or my own choices of music albumsThey are flatter than most regular ear buds and are a bit more comfortable.Con’s:They are glitchy. Meaning if I press my ear too tightly to the pillow they seem to lose connection for a few seconds till I move my head. The plastic outer part is either a bit too big or just not shaped right (for me).ExpensiveSo…. I can’t say that I’m really happy with these. I kept them because so far they work ok but I wish I had waited for a better optionI do have a pair of Amazfit sleep buds that fit so much better and are more comfy but I can’t stand the library of sounds they have with them.So I am still on the lookout for a better fitting, more comfy, more reliable pair of sleep buds when my budget can allow.

    So Much Potential

Editing to add a star because Anker continues to have wonderful customer service and reached out to try to help solve my issues. Some were solved; I still don’t experience complete comfort when sleeping on my side. I still desperately want to love these. In between waking from discomfort, I sleep the best I’ve ever slept. I have high hopes for the next version of these ear buds!I want to start by saying I love Anker products. They are one of about 3 trusted brands of mine when it comes to electronics.I wanted to like these. I wanted to like them so badly that I put up with the pain of them being embedded into my concha for three nights. I tried different things. I switched out the covers and tips, I tried a different pillow… Though I found slightly less discomfort, I did not find comfort.Being able to fall asleep to what I wanted was (or would have been) great. The auto switch to sleep sounds was (would have been) exactly what I needed to help me stay asleep. Except that pain kept waking me up.Two more points. 1) They do not make it 8 hours. I fall asleep in less than 30 minutes, and even with the feature that is supposed to save battery life by storing the sleep sounds in the memory of the buds, I was awakened in less than 7 hours because one or both had died. 2) Whenever I wanted to change sleep settings, it would immediately start playing the sounds stored in the memory, which would then cause the buds to disconnect from my Bluetooth. This made it impossible to change the sleep settings without un-pairing and re-pairing the buds with my phone every single time I wanted to change a setting.I had so much hope for them. But I do not recommend them. They do not live up to their potential or even their claims.

    Great for side sleepers!

Update 10/15/23: knocking a star off. I have been having issues over the past month or so where my left bud is WAY softer than my right bud. I tried to see if there was an equalizer setting but couldn’t find anything. Also keep having issues where the Bluetooth keeps going in and out (no obstructions and the phone is 3ft away, if that). Both VERY ANNOYING! Sent email to support. Hope this can be resolved and I can bump up to 4 stars.Original review: I use a CPAP machine, and I recently switched from a mask to a nose piece. When that happened, I couldn’t use my headphones headband anymore be it was causing inference with my new mask. I love listening to calming music before I go to bed so I began my search for wireless earbuds that I could use when I sleep on my side and keep in my ear all night. I tried some cheapo ones that were advertised as sleep buds because I didn’t want to pay too much, They were garbage. So I tried another pair that weren’t advertised as sleep buds, but had good reviews for sound quality and looked small in the pictures. Yet another stupid move on my part. Sound quality was good, but they were too damn big and uncomfortable to sleep in. I wasn’t interested in the Bose because I wanted to play my own stuff or have the flexibility to listen to an audio book if I wanted, which you can’t with there’s. So I finally caved and bought these. I have been wearing them since I got them and boy do I wish I had just gotten them sooner! The sound quality is good and the volume gets low enough for me with room to spare. Just remember these are sleep buds and not everyday Beats or Bose. They just a little getting used to when sleeping with them (took me three days), but I can now sleep through the night with them on and it doesn’t bother me. Charging case is good, but just make sure they are secured in the case or they won’t charge. I took a star off because they’re features (smart switch and sleep monitoring) are a little glitchy and I use my pixel watch for sleep monitoring anyway. But I still like them and won’t be returning these. Highly recommend!

Hardly noticeable in ear but the App needs work

I have tried pretty much every sleep headphone on the market so when I say that these ones are good I mean it. They are very small and fit really sung in the ear. I sleep on my side and cannot even tell they are in. They do come out in the night sometime so you will have to search your sheets in the morning for them. The sound quality is pretty good. My only complaint is the app uses to control them. They have two modes, sleep and listen. Listen mode is just like normal earbuds but sleep mode only plays a select ambient sounds. The issue is that they will automatically switch into sleep mode when they sense that you are sleeping. I’m not sure if I just have a shallow heart beat or something but they constantly switch when I am awake. So I have to switch back manually.

    Not comfortable for side sleepers

I have a pair of Bose Sleepbuds which don’t work very consistently anymore, so i was looking for a replacement. I can wear the Bose ones through the night with no discomfort, but these don’t work for me as a side sleeper. The pain in my ears actually wakes me up. (Bose has discontinued their sleep buds unfortunately)The noise cancellation is passive, not active- and i can still hear my husband’s snoring. They are better than nothing but i’ll probably have to return these and look for something else. Too bad, i wanted to like them!

    Depending on you sleeping style

Used for a month now, both at home and during camping. Overall it’s ok for me to keep.Pros- it stops music automatically after I fall asleep. Although sometimes it stops early, but restart can be done by tapping the ear buds- relatively small and flat. Ok to sleep on side for a short period of time.- battery life is ok but not great. Since it stops music automatically, depending on your ambient sounds settings the battery life will vary.Con’s- cannot sleep on side for long (~5 min). It cause ear pains. I only use one earbud at a time so I can sleep on the other side. For the disconnection issue, using the largest white earbud cover solved it for me without causing any discomfort

Major deficiencies – Consider before buying

I was a long time Bose Sleep II earbud user and they were a game changer in my quality of sleep. I mainly used them to cover the sound of my spouse snoring, but they also helped me to avoid focusing on household noises that would keep me from falling asleep or wake me up. They weren’t perfect, but overall was the best product on the market. When they eventually failed, and I realized they were no longer being made, I started research on alternatives. I was desperate to find something quickly, as I didn’t sleep well without them. The price of these headphones was attractive and they had a similar shape to the Bose, so I assumed they would have the same level of comfort. After using these for the last 6-8 months, these are the major takeaways:- The battery capacity is too small AND wildly inconsistent. It is also heavily dependent on the volume you use. At the volume which cut out my spouses snoring, I was only getting 3-4 hrs a night, which complete negated the value of this product. At a lower volume, I typically only get like 4.5 to 6.5 hours of battery life per night. The loss of sound always wakes me up and I have trouble going back to sleep. To me, battery life is the number one requirement from a product like this, and these headphones are woefully inadequate.- In relation to battery, when they run out, the alarm feature just doesn’t work. So nearly every night I need to set backup alarms to ensure I wake up on time. The alarm on the Bose was very reliable and was a great feature that woke me up without disturbing my spouse.- the sleep tracking feature in the app appears incredibly inconsistent. I wasn’t aware of this feature when I bought the headphones, but was very excited about its potential to allow me to track the quality of my sleep. After using it for 6 months, I have no trust in the accuracy of it. On nights I am up tossing and turning due to the battery issues, it still reports 7 hours of sleep, with only minimal ‘wakefulness’- connecting the Bluetooth every night is a chore. The Bose would auto connect when they were removed from their case and it worked nearly every time. I need to go through a process every night to connect these- The App has some annoying user experience issues that make it feel unpolished and create frustration when trying to use.

    Not worth the cost

TL;DR I ended up returning these, they just weren’t worth the cost. The long version: I have a guided meditation I use to help me fall asleep. I use earbuds initially when first going to bed so I don’t accidentally wake my partner up hearing it start. It also allows me to clear hear it over the white noise machines we have running in our bedroom at night. I bought these in the hopes that I could use it all during the night and avoid having to wake up at some to remove them as I typically do with my standard iPhone earbuds. The problem is that they just wouldn’t last through out a full night. I don’t know if it was the Bluetooth disconnecting or the battery dying, even though they are supposed to last on “sleep mode” for more than 8 hours. I wasn’t going to load up the app in the middle of the night to figure out which one it was. So I was still waking up to remove the earbuds at some point when I woke up and realized they weren’t doing anything. There is supposed to be built in sleep tracking, which is probably the main reason they are so expensive, but the issue above means it always cut off after only reading for 3-4 hours. I may not sleep great all nights, but I get more than 3 hours on average! While they do provide four different sizes of ear tips, two of them are “medium” and I would have liked to see a fourth smaller size, even on the smallest size I could still feel them in my ear, which is always a problem I have with earbuds.Pros:- on board sound generation with a huge variety of sounds to choose from- no one-tap sound controls, so no accidental turning on/off while sleeping- lots of sizes of ear wings and tips to choose fromCons:- would only last 3-4 hours per night (not sure if a battery or connection issue), negating the sleep tracking function or if you want white noise the entire night- cost is high for something that doesn’t function fully as expected- both earbuds must be connected to use the sleep mode, so unable to use only one at a time for comfort

    Love the sleep music

In all honesty…I cannot tell if there is any legit noise canceling effect. To me, that part of the product fails in comparison to noise canceling headphones that cover your whole ear. However…that being said, these still help me sleep. Why, you ask? Because the design of the earbuds fit in the ear canal pretty well, and I use the standard size that comes attached. I’d say these sit in the ear canal like comfortable earplugs but with Bluetooth technology. The outer construction is not as tiny as advertised but still smaller than any other pair I’ve owned. It’s comfortable enough to sleep on my side. I can still hear external noises from the street and neighbors through the thin walls of my apartment, but the ambient sound/music options never fail to put me to sleep, therefore I’ll say that this product works and fits the bill.

On my 5th pair. Lots of problems

So here is the deal. I have been using sleep buds for years. I started with Bose Sleepbuds then sleepbuds 2. The issues I am having with the A10’s are the same as the Bose sleepbuds. Almost identical in fact. The quick high level is :1: Charging is a pain. It was the same with the Bose. You put them on the tiny pins and if they are even a little bit dirty or the outer cover has moved even a little then the contact won’t sit right and won’t charge. There is a white flashing light and sometimes that comes on when its not charging. This means when you get back in bed the next night they are dead .. My solution to this. Own two pairs. Its a sucky solution but fixes my problem. I did the same with the Bose ones. — Onto problem #2 which again is the same for bose as is with A102: * a little bit gross but just real life. – If they get a little bit of ear wax in them then it reduces the sound quality. Of course they say clean them which I do. But if the wax is (yes gross) thinner then it will penetrate the little cover and almost block out the sound. Cleaning them at this point does not really help.I did do one return to Soundcore but it’s hard work. Since then I have purchased 4 other pairs. As of writing this every paid has the same problem. On the plus side. They do work well when new. Comfort is good. I do wish they lasted more than 8 hours but I can live with that and the price is good.My overall feedback is that I’m stuck. I can’t sleep without some white noise in my ears and really only Bose and Soundcore have something and Bose have now discontinued their line. I’m guessing due to the amount of returns. I think every company making these has the same problems. I have even talked to the leaders of the Bose group who let to start their own company and they are very aware of these issues.I just went to buy more of these and they are unavailable. So I am about to Quiteon. The problem is that they are $250.I honestly just wish they worked and if and when they broke that I could RMA them fast.

Second one broken more than the first one which also broke

Second Update: Within 3 days of writing the update, the right ear bud of my 2nd pair starting crackling through the night, even when using the audio sound uploaded to my ear buds. It was worse when trying to use Blutooth to stream music. I’ve gone back to the original, using the audio sound (rain) to mask noise. It’s still very ineffective for me and my situation, thus the return to the original 2 star review.Update: The company reached out after reading my review to offer a replacement for free. After receiving the product and using the replacement for the past month, I am updating my review (and upping the original review to 4 stars) to reflect the improvement. These buds will never be great for Bluetooth connectivity and listening to music. The slightest object, including a pillow, can disconnect the ear bud from the phone, even if it is just 4 feet away. However, when using the earbuds for sleeping and using just the ambient sounds and (short) music) that the app installs makes a difference. You can still only have one sound at a time on your earbuds (unlike the Bose Sleepbuds), but I have been able to sleep better and block out the noise my partner occasionally makes at night. The customer service is fantastic. Worked with me to send a replacement, and I am satisfied. I’m not sure that this will wind up being my permanent nighttime sleeping situation, but Anker stands behinds its products.Original review: The earbuds fit well within the ear, but they do not stay connected via bluetooth if you are listening to music and you turn to sleep on your side. I’ve had both earbuds cut out as soon as I roll over. This is regardless of which side you sleep on, as it is often the ear not resting against the pillow. I’ve also had crackling through the earbuds, even while lying still on my back. The quality of sound coming through normal bluetooth connection is very ineffective. If you are simply going to use the sounds that you can install on your earbuds directly, you can only have one sound at at time (as opposed to Bose Sleepbuds that allowed you to have several). You have to transfer sounds constantly if you wish to change, then you are at the mercy of the bluetooth connection which for me has proven to be problematic. It would be okay if the sounds provided were good, and while there are a variety, they just haven’t been as helpful for me in effectively cancelling noise the way Sleepbuds 2 by Bose could block. Unfortunately the Bose Sleepbuds are no longer available, which is what leaves me sleepless at night. I thought these might be a viable option, but after a few months I am incredibly disappointed in these earbuds. Right now, they serve as very expensive ear plugs, blocking light noise but not effectively and certainly at not the price of $130. Given the lack of functionality and effectiveness, these are only worth about $20, if that.

    Battery life not as advertised

Excited to try sleep buds and hoped they compared to Bose sleep buds. The app for the phone was more diffucult. The bigger problem with the ear buds is the battery does not even last 8 hrs. The most it lasted was 5 hrs and less than that for the other side. Did all troubleshooting but still no better. They are more comfortable than Bose sleep buds but cant use unless it at least works the night.

Battery life leaves much to be desired

I’ve been using the Soundcore Sleep A10 for 4 months and I like it a lot. Here are the pros:-I love how I can use it for music mode and sleep mode — really useful for sleep meditation exercises because it switches to sleep mode when it detects that I’ve fallen asleep.-They also have a big library of sleep sounds that you can preload one at a time on the earbuds. My favorite is Snoring Attenuation 2 because…-I got these primarily to block my husband’s snoring and my goodness, they work absolutely well in that respect. I was very pleasantly surprised.-The app looks good and is easy to navigate.-Alarm function is really useful. I work nights and sometimes take naps so I need it to alert me to the time without waking anybody else up.Now for the cons:-These aren’t as comfortable as the Amazfit Zenbuds. In particular, the hard body makes my crus of helix sore after wearing them for one night.-The battery life leaves much to be desired. The sleep sounds have to be playing at around 80% volume for me; otherwise they don’t block external noise. So I only get about 6 hours of use with these even if I use them purely in sleep mode. As time goes by, that number will only decrease further. At least these earbuds don’t have the annoying beeps that Amazfit Zenbuds play at intervals when battery is low; the Soundcore Sleep A10 just turns off.UPDATE: Added one star to my rating because of the fantastic customer support, which made me feel seen and heard. I look forward to the next iteration of these sleep earbuds.

They’re comfortable. But thats where the fun ends

I love the Bose sleep buds. They aren’t super comfy for side sleeping. But they have an amazing battery life, great sound library, more settings for sound level that actualy matter, and an alarm that actually goes off. I am forgettful and I lost my bose buds over the weekend and was desperate to find a replacement immediately as my boyfriend snores and has a CPAP and I an’t sleep through any of it.I odered these as the only comparable option since Bose appears to not sell theirs anymore and I’m heartbroken. I was SO excited when these came and were so much more comfortable than the bose ones. I thought I had found a cheaper alternative and wouldn’t hve to worry that Bose no longer sells theirs. The app is cumbersome and difficult to navigate. Setting an alarm was really hard to figure out. But then it turned out that you don’t need to bother setting an alarm becuase even in sleep mode, the battery can’t even handle 9 hours. I don’t care about the sleep tracking, I don’t need my own music. All I want is for the buds to play their one sound all night. That shouldn’t be too much to ask for for an ear bud specifically desined for sleeping. The max time you can set for sleeping is 9 hours but the battery doesnt last 9 full hours. so if you set an alarm that will go off in exactly 9 hours from hitting play, you’ll never get to the alarm. If the buds fall out of your ears in the mdidle of the night, they stop playing. That means if it falls out and I want to put it back in, I have to turn on my phone and tel it to play again. This is almost better than the bose ones but the battery life and the app are a joke. I think you have to choose between having a headphone for music and a headphone for sleeping. Stop trying to cram features into these buds and focus on making them do their main purpose well first.
