Quiet, Medium-Sized Case, Powerful Enough for Most Apps
Needed a versatile, all-purpose home PC to replace my aging i7-4xxx desktop, and this one fit the bill quite nicely. The price is a great value for the hardware. I tried virtually building a similarly-specified PC using MicroCenter’s build-a-PC tool, and it was more than double the price! The power supply is a bit meek at 300W, but lower power usage was one of my objectives. I like to keep it on all the time as it functions a central server to my home, and also runs as a PLEX multi-media server to all my televisions. It’s not a gaming PC, and I’m not a gamer, but FWIW, I was able to play a few rounds of Fortnite. YMMV. Again, NOT a gaming PC.This PC runs very quiet and even silent most of the time; a very quiet fan kicks on when taxing the CPU, but it’s barely audible. Two things I wished they didn’t ‘cheap-out’ on are not including an SD card reader, and ‘only’ providing 12GB of RAM (wish it were 16GB, but it honestly doesn’t really make a difference day-to-day for me).It has a front-facing USB-C, which is really nice, and an ‘always-on’ USB-A port for keeping things charged for when the PC is turned off. I know physical media is nearly dead, but I’m still using some CDs and DVDs, and having a built-in DVD-RW is very helpful.Overall, a great multi-purpose PC!

replaement of same brand
The old computer finally gave up. I still like to use a desk top when home. This one seemed to be a good setup for a home user. It is faster and some improvements from the old one. The video card is a good upgrade and plenty of RAM and hard drive space i will probably use.Have enjoyed it so far and it was on sale. All good

it’s an odd time to buy chips
I think this is an excellent machine with a few serious downfalls to consider. The box is very small including having only space for a slim line ROM drive and not much room for swapping parts. The chips are kind of random on the market right now. Propriety tools required to change things out. It would make sense as a laptop.

Windows 11 can be a pain…
This is a nice sized, quiet (silent!) beautiful black tower. I am not tech smart, & also not a gamer. My husband picked this tower because of my vast collection of photos, & my use of a computer for crafting. Windows 11 is a leap over Win 10 leaving me with guessing as to where to find 90% of the features, customization, etc.. If you are transfering data from a prior computer, One Drive, cloud storage, will basically suck EVERYTHING -data & personal-on your computer up to its storage & info bank. I, personally, was bothered by many things I immediately saw, and it did NOT work well with my Photo program. After further research I deleted everything from One Drive & uninstalled that program. Bottom line – I should have found a computer with Win 10 which could later be upgraded. Be sure of what you want sitting in the clouds.

i7-12700F/GTX1660 Super has impressive specs, but doesn’t support expansion
Let me preface this by saying I really get aggravated by listings that mix different types of products so that the reviews are totally misleading. I got the top of the line unit from this listing that has great specs, but adding this review to all the other lower end units in this listing is really unacceptable. I’m tempted to dock a couple of stars just for that. You can see the impressive CrystalDiskMark ratings for the Kingston NVME SSD in these units https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-OM8PDP3512B-A01-512GB-PS5013-Custom/dp/B09NMFCQ49. It also uses Kingston memory. The unit has a WD Blue 1 TB spin drive that I didn’t really benchmark since I had to replace it with an 18 TB Seagate, (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L5GQR5V), because while there is an extra SATA port on the motherboard, there’s no way to mount a second spin drive. Unfortunately the hole pattern for the 3.5″ drive only matches the WD bottom mount spacing and not the spacing for the Seagate, so I could only install two of the four screws and had to work around holding it properly without rattling the case. The lack of expandability is really my only complaint about this unit. The specs are really impressive, with the overall Passmark rating being in the 92nd percentile. It’s about 2.5x the performance of the uber PC I’d put together using top of the line components for about four times the price about seven years ago. However, this is not designed to be expanded. It has room and motherboard connections for one 2.5″ drive, but that’s about it. Everything else, you’ll be replacing components. I can’t tell for sure who makes the GEFORCE GTX 1660 card that’s there without pulling it (can’t find a matching picture anywhere) but it sits in the one PCIe x16 slot and unfortunately it’s a two slot wide card that hides the extra PCI x1 slot that could have been used for at least some minor expansion. The two onboard M.2 slots are taken with the NVME drive and the Wi-Fi card. Upgrading to the max supported 32 GB of memory means throwing away the 16 GB it comes with. The spin drive mounts on a neat removable panel just under the case cover. The blue cable you see in the pictures is the one I added to connect a 1 TB SSD into the 2.5″ bay. The unit has an ultra-thin form factor DVD drive but I needed Blu-ray. It was cheaper to just add an external than trying to replace the one that’s in it.Beyond that, there is one big deficiency that WILL affect the average user. Where are the USB 3.0 ports?!! There’s only one on the back and one USB 3.0 A and one USB-C on the front. The rest are all USB 2.0? What the heck?!! I’m immediately having to add USB 3.0 hubs just to connect everything I’d typically use, including the external Blu-ray. Not very convenient. So, overall this highest end unit in this listing is pretty impressive specs in a nice lightweight case. For the average user, this is probably more than enough and the lack of expandability won’t be an issue. However, given I was upgrading from a machine with better specs all around except for speed, the inability to expand it had me considering pulling the components into a larger case with a different motherboard. Frankly, from the feature list, this is really a laptop in a mini tower case.

Good machine for basic computing, can’t be upgraded other than RAM and storage.
I bought this during Prime Day to replace my five year old Acer Aspire TC780 that I bought on Prime Day 5 years ago. That system is still running strong, but I need to replace it in the next year since it’s just old enough that it won’t upgrade to Windows 11. This is comparable to that system: i5 12400 vs 7400 in the old one, similar form factor, I thought I’d be all set.Unfortunately, Acer has changed over to the new 12 volt only standard for their power supplies and motherboards. There is no indication anywhere that this isn’t using a standard ATX power supply and some form of mATX or ITX board. So, if you’re looking for a decent PC for standard computing tasks and will never want to upgrade anything beyond the storage or RAM, this is the machine for you and you’ll be happy. I swapped in 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD before I ever booted the system. But, if you ever want to add in a decent GPU, this is not the system for you.Since there are no replacement power supplies on the market for this, you won’t be able to add anything beyond a GTX 1650, which ironically is what I’m taking out of my old machine that was installed about a year ago to put in this one. I was hoping to swap out a power supply down the road and add something more like a 4060, but it doesn’t look like that will happen. I’ll use this for a couple of years and then repurpose it for something else and replace it with a machine that has standard parts.

Excellent performance for my needs
I watch a lot of videos and now that I have a modern computer I can enjoy 4K videos without any problems. I also dabble in music editing and this machine processes large wav files quickly. I don’t do gaming so I can’t comment on performance there. In addition to video and music tasks, I do basic household stuff like working on budgets, browsing the web and ordering online, checking news and weather. My only minor complaint is that the included optical drive is the flimsy laptop style, and worse, it’s mounted vertically. I can’t trust good discs to that kind of drive so I’ve ordered a kit to let me use a formerly internal drive via USB for my DVD watching and music extracting needs. I’m not going to deduct any stars for that however, since it’s getting rare to find any optical drive included with a computer at all.The design is beautiful. If it had a more traditional front panel, perhaps one could install an internal optical drive, but with this design, there is no place for a disc tray to operate. You can however install an additional hard drive and they even include a sata cable in the box, and you can actually see an extra power cable available through the side panel.Windows 11 took some getting used to, but I’ve adapted from being a Windows 7 user since 2009. As I write this, I’ve owned the tower for almost one month. I’m very happy with the performance, quality and beauty of the Acer Aspire TC-1760-UA92 Desktop.

Cost vs. Performance
I bought this PC with the understanding of what comes around the price range. I use it primarily for Microsoft Office applications and to watch movies/TV online and for that it works great. I also bought it on sale which was really nice. The one thing that is new for me is the way the new windows operating system which is not as user friendly in my opinion as the old system.

Perfect for office use.
This computer is perfect for desktop business office use. We were using computers bought through Amazon about 10 years ago and they still work but were too slow for newer programs in use today. I purchased one of these a month or so ago and It was perfect for our shipping processing and order processing uses. After it performed so well, I ordered 2 more of them for our office use. Great computer for office use, however, it doesn’t have enough “Woof” for most visual gaming programs, so you wouldn’t want to order one for gaming. Unless you wanted to add memory and a higher-end video card if you found one for it, other than that, it’s perfect.

I’m able to play World of Warcraft on highest settings with over 200 fps, but….
So, I guess this is not technically a ‘gaming’ computer…Not exactly sure what makes that determination, but I can tell you that I play World of Warcraft with the highest settings, and it reaches over 200 fps. I now have it turned down to limit the fps to 60, to sync with my monitor’s refresh rate as suggested, and it sticks at 60fps no matter what I’m doing in the game, and I have zero lag. With that said, when I am gaming, the fan does make quite a bit of noise, and the computer gets hot, when I have the game set to the highest settings. Perhaps a ‘gaming’ computer would have a more robust fan or some other components to handle the requirements of a graphically intense game like World of Warcraft, I don’t know enough about these things to say. All I know is that I get great performance when gaming, and while the fan is pretty loud, I don’t notice the computer getting hot unless its at the highest settings and I’m doing something intense like a raid. When I turn the settings down, and limit the fps to 60, it stays at a decent temperature. The fan IS pretty noisy though, regardless of what I’m doing.

Anti-Consumer
Warning: Uses an anti-consumer proprietary connectors. This PC is made to be non-repairable and non-upgradable. You cannot add any modern graphics card to this computer. Unless you’re only intending to give this computer to your grandparents to check their email, this computer is going to be in a landfill in a few years. It cannot be serviced nor upgraded by normal means. There are many anti-consumer tricks here, and I’m so sad that reviewers aren’t pointing them out. For instance, the motherboard of this computer is made to a nonstandard size so it won’t fit in most cases. This includes that the front panel I/O is built onto the motherboard. If you don’t know what that means, imagine that you want to move into a new house. But you find out the company that makes the kitchen appliances like the fridge has connected big brackets from the fridge all the way to your front and back doors. So nobody can ever fix the fridge if there’s a problem. But they also can’t ever fix the doors either. One company controls the whole thing, end to end, and they get to dictate terms to you.I could go on. Bad deals:Acer proprietary motherboard connector means you cannot connect any normal power supply to this computer. If you ever have a problem, you’re locked into Acer’s service department for life. For tech people, it’s a nonstandard 6-pin connector, specifically made so you cannot swap in any normal power supply, even one from Dell or HP, even if the power supply itself is the exact same part. Even if you connect a normal power supply, the fans would spin forever and the power supply will draw energy until you unplug it.300W power supply is woefully underpowered. You cannot upgrade this computer with normal parts like a graphics card. The computer is going to be a paperweight in a few years, because it cannot be upgraded.Non-standard parts. The motherboard is intentionally constructed so you can’t move it to a new computer if there is a problem. If your case gets banged up, or you have some other problem with your hardware, Acer is going to try to force you to use their service plans, and probably force you to buy a new computer since they’re going to stop making all these parts as soon as they develop a new model.Lack of power, lack of connectors, and lack of space all mean it’s basically impossible to connect any modern graphics card to this computer. Without a graphics card, you’re going to struggle just playing basic games like Fortnite. The computer basically has one hand tied behind its back, so even though the included parts are strong, they’ll never work like they should for any graphics-intensive process (gaming, 3d modeling, and so on).Overall:This computer is basically built for elderly people, schools, and other settings where the most the computer is going to be asked to do in its lifetime is browse the internet or write some documents. You are supposed to throw it away the moment it has problems, and buy a whole new one. For a lot of computer users like me, that’s not okay. I want to be able to fix my computer if something goes wrong, and I need to be able to upgrade my computer with basic parts like a graphics card. This computer is incapable of that. I cannot recommend it whatsoever. The only people who should buy this are people looking to buy 300 cheap workstations for a school, and they probably want the lack of upgrade options so people won’t try to steal them and resell them.

Nice Simple Computer
If you are looking for a gaming machine, this ain’t it. But it IS a great setup overall for home or office. Easy to upgrade right out of the box. There are a few YouTube videos to watch for guidance. Memory was first, TEAMGROUP T-Create Classic 10L DDR4 32 GB Kit (Amazon $55.99). Then the available PCIe X16 slot was filled with a SABRENT NVMe M.2 SSD to PCIe X16 Card (Amazon $15.95) and a Crucial P3 1 TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD (Amazon $45.99) for a nice storage upgrade without using the much slower SATA interface. There is no case fan included, so an ARCTIC P12 PWM—120 mm 4 pin Case Fan took care of that (Amazon $9.09). Finally, there is only one USB-C port in the front and two USB-A 3.2 ports, one up front and one on the rear. So a low cost PCI-E Expansion Card with 2 USB Type-A and 2 USB Type-C Ports, SINEFINE (Amazon $16.99) filled the PCIe x4 slot and added plenty of ports. Goes from power on button to booted desktop in less than10 seconds. Upgrades totaled out at like $180.00 Delivered. Quite and fast, this build will last for years.

We bought this for a family member. It has been performing up to expectation at this point. This computer will be used infrequently, mostly for trusted sites and emails.

Perfectly fine for normal humans.
Not so good if you are my grandchildren who demand high res gaming. But for tax software, printing, word processing, and internet it is fine. Also fine if you use PC as I do for interfacing to electronic test gear. Pulled cover in under 20 seconds, easy to access internals, all connectors and dram were secure, extra cabling and drive isolators for one more drive present. Case perfectly adequate. You want lights and sound go to a carnival. Saw some complaints about esthetics of desktop case. Really? I just stuck it under my desk where like the one replaced I expect it will look shaggy with dust in short order. Have never been one to stare at my computers case. Compared to 1st gen IBM pc included keboard is skinny and lightweight, so is mouse but, they work fine as well. Drive is silent, fan barely audible. Major con is Win11 and it’s bloatware but you get that with every PC. Note: turn off “one drive” msoft populated my new pc screen with nonsense I never wanted to see again unless I went to cloud and fetched it. Only gripe about Actual PC was that the card slot was filled with rubber, no circuitry. If you use SD or other cards for maps, music, pictures etc you will need a usb to whatever adapter. So, office – yes, maybe too good. Home – perfect. Under 8 gamers, will be happy. After that sorry folks fork over another $1k. FWIW I am running this with an old analog VGA on a $8 hdmi adapter. It is fine. Wireless on speedtest ( have mesh network) ran at 300 mbps. Was able to download Turbo Tax and watch Netflix simultaneously no buffering. Minus one star for excluding card reader. CAUTION: 1) ACER provides NO info regarding how to install anything on this computer. You can go to the citizens help site or whatever nonsense they have named it and beg one of the moderators to look something up in the tech support manual but YOU, Ordinary customer keeping company solvent cannot have access to same. Ditto for specs.( FWIW, PCIe1 is a gen 3 and the 16 is a gen 4). You can slap 2 SSD or HD onto the plate inside, add a 1650 Graphics card – but will block your PCIe1, or forget graphics and use PCIe1 for a port expander. Issue 2: This box will perform ” out of box experience” and register itself thru microsoft to acer with whatever email you gave microsoft. Changing it as I wanted to do as I have an acer account for 2 laptops is difficult a) talk or chat with acer get on list for ” protection agent ” who will send you email asking to confirm change of email. b) wait for more mail and id number from protection person or get back on with plain old acer agent and get double secret website url via email where you can register “warranty” after sending proof of purchase. This still does not get you a registration but is warranty only. No I do not know what great gifts full reg gets you but I will bet it is access to updates or some such. It was so frustrating and time consuming I thought of returning the darn thing and getting the competitor.

So close to good
Product is easy to set up, although the speakers required using the headphone outlets. The big disappointment is the absence of access to the DVD – a criteria for purchase. The customer service suggestion (repowering the device) did not work, and the option was to send it to their tech service location in Texas. I chose to buy an external device and not risk sending it to Texas. For a tech company, I am surprised they do not have remote access customer service. What I need would be accomplished by accessing the computer and inserting the commands. I like the tower device – but not their customer service, or their policy regarding remote tech support, and definitely not that there is a DVD device in the computer that I cannot access to use.

Where’s the SD card reader?
SD card reader? It doesn’t have one. I think every camera I have takes SD cards. Just ordered an SD to USB adaptor, but really?

Acer Is Always a Value
Absolutely the best computer and the least expensive at its quality. This is our family’s third Acer, and each has been exceptional. And Acer has always been more than responsive when I have asked “how to…” when modifying or adding a device.

Acer Destop exactly what I needed.
My old Windows 10 computer served me well since 2010 but died unexpectedly. I found this one on Amazon during Prime Days and for $499, I feel I got an exceptional bargain. 12 gigs of Ram, dual HDMI outputs, and an I5 processor, are perfect for my home graphic design tasks. I use Illustrator and PhotoShop to design tee shirts to make with my Cricut machine. I also stream movies using Emby server to my home’s devices. Windows 11 works well (I’m learning how to use it) and runs all the programs I need without any issues. This machine only has a 512 internal drive so I easily installed a 4 TB drive inside to hold all the “crap” I save. Movie file are large so this replaced the 2 TB drive that I had on my old desktop. I’m as happy as a clam with it. Likely I’ll buy another one before Windows 10 looses support in 3 years, to replace my wife’s aging Windows 10 desktop.UPDATE:I added a Nvidia GeForce 1030 video card to this box. Works great with any of my apps that require GPU acceleration. Made this already good desktop BETTER!

Minor Upgrades Helpful
Bought our TC-1760 a week ago. One of my first downloads was to replace Windows 11 Home with Windows 11 Pro. (It cost about $33 – try to catch somebody doing a Microsoft authored sale if you can.) The other upgrade was installing some additional DDR4 RAM. I bought a 16 GB strip from Amazon for about $27. Since the two memory slots inside the Acer are for 8 GB and 4GB, I replaced the 8GB with my new 16GB, and stuck the 8GB strip into the slot where the 4GB strip had been. As I made sure my new RAM strip purchase was 3200 Mhz compatible, a boot-up and RAM check (START/About Your PC) quickly confirmed I’m now running 24 GB of DDR4 Ram. This particular Acer will never be a fire-ball, gaming machine but it does boot notable quicker now, which was my upgrade goal.

Works perfectly for my needs
Acer Aspire TC-1760-UA93 Desktop | Intel Core i7-12700F 12-Core | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660I was hesitant when purchasing this PC. However, it has surpassed my expectations. I am a casual gamer and I’ve had my PC for about 4 months thus far. I am able to run Final Fantasy 14 , Rust , Sims 3 , and lighter games with no issue. I am also able to smoothly play a heavier & lighter game at the same time while multitasking, often having about 10+ tabs open when streaming a show. PC is not loud at all and I haven’t noticed it increase in temperature even when I’ve been running it for 10+hrs.You are unable to customize the hardware on this PC, however, I don’t plan on doing so as the PC doesn’t need to be customized. A perfect PC for those who do not know much about building their own PC or specs but also would like to do more than checking your email or browsing the web.

Please read this before purchasing, don’t become a victim.
I bought this Acer desktop to replace the Microsoft Surface I’ve used for years as it touted itself as a “high-performance” “multitasking machine”. It’s far from it. I’ve had to deal with a constant lag since I received it. Even simple tasks like opening up the Settings app takes way longer than they should, and don’t get me started on if you want to watch any videos or play any games on it.I tried all the different troubleshooting tips (adjusting display settings, refresh rate, different connection cables, etc., but nothing worked).Eventually, I called Acer support to chat with them about it. The first person I talked to told me that the computer’s graphics does not support the MONITOR I’m using (I currently have a 38″ LG ultrawide monitor).I told the person that it works perfectly fine when I plug my (much older) work laptop into the monitor. The guy said it was because my work laptop has a better graphics card than this newer Acer desktop, and we ended the call. The first thing I did was check my work laptop, and of course, it had a much WORSE graphics card…so I called Acer support back and talked to another guy who CONFIRMED that the Acer desktop SHOULD support my monitor…so I now have to ship the computer to their warehouse, wait 3-5 days for them to repair it, then go pick it up once they ship it back. This computer is NOT worth the hassle, and Acer customer support is an absolute joke. If you are considering any other company/brand, go with them.

Works well for seniors
This product does not have stuff on it that you do not need for taking care of everyday items. Runs well, can enlarge the screen fonts, apps, everything you need for a computer to run applications for a senior. It has a document page so you can write or make lists. The memory is enough to be able to order on line, take care of banking online, shop online. Conveniently small.

Not as advertised
The listing shows condition as new. I was sent a used machine. When I fired the PC up first time there was already a password set up from a previous owner. I contacted ACER tech support and They walked Me through wiping the computer clean and registered the PC in Their system. 3 days later I was notified that I had purchased an “open box’ item and the warranty started 09/08/2022. I am not going through the hassle of sending it back and re-purchasing again to see if I can get a new one. The PC so far works good. It is a little noisey but not annoying. 5/8/23 update the Bluetooth doesn’t function correctly and 2X now the computer started but did not have any video. A system re-start fixed it but there must be an issue so it’s getting returned.

Great computer and a great price
Amazon had the best price for this kind of tower. I checked out big box stores and nobody could beat this deal. I bought in August so you want to check to see if it is still a good price but all I can say is I am totally satisfied with this computer.

Great value
For this price point, this computer has a pretty fast processer, a good amount of ram and substantial hard drive capacity. It is SO much faster than my old one. I am not a gamer, so the lack of high end video card is not a problem for me. This has all of the bells and whistles that the average computer user would need. Very happy with the purchase.

Great replacement computer!
I liked the fact this was an EASY install, pretty much just plug and play, quiet, and fast compared to my old outdated Gateway computer. Only issue I had was the 27 inch monitor buttons. The on off button is actually a two button power on. There’s a master power switch and another alternate power switch which isn’t marked. When I went to power up the monitor it didn’t come on because I didn’t know about the other power switch and there wasn’t any documentation. Info you its the top button on the backside of the monitor in the group of buttons which aren’t labeled. I would still recommend this computer system to anyone! Good job Acer just label your buttins!

Damaged computer
The good: The Acer computer appears to be a good value for the money with the features and computing power it offers. It was purchased to replace a 10-year-old Dell computer that had a hardware failure. The computer shipped quickly. It was ordered on December 14 and arrived on December 20. The bad: Unfortunately, when the box was opened on December 22 to set it up, it was discovered to be heavily damaged as if someone used a hammer on it. This was a total shock because the box appeared to be in good condition so it is a complete mystery to me as to how the computer could be so damaged. It had to be packaged that way which is the only plausible reason I can imagine. I gave a one-star rating because the computer was shipped in a damaged state which I returned on December 22, and I am now waiting for a refund on the purchase. As stated earlier, I feel the specs on the computer make it a good deal and placed a second order for the same computer which arrived today. This time, I had the delivery person wait until I opened the box to assure it was in good condition prior to signing for the order even though the damaged computer did not appear to be related to the shipper being at fault. I will offer a review on the new computer once I have a chance to get it up and running.

Fast and robust for home office
I had Acer PCs before and never had a problem. The Acer TC-1760 is nice home office PC.Boot time is fast. Windows 11 runs smooth and even better once you get rid of the bloatware.I added my old Windows 10 SSD into the box as a second drive.Between the 2 drives I have 1.5 TB total. Plenty of space.I would recommend the desktop PC.

OK overall – but nothing special
Unit is OK overall. Only 1 USB port on front is a disadvantage. Would have liked to have a drive light on the unit even though it is a SSD equiped model. Frankly the biggest problem with the unit is the fan noise. Very distracting and really shouldn’t be an issue with a large case and the general technology available to manufacturers. Overall OK if you can get it for a good price. Otherwise, due to the noise issue, there are better alternatives.

Great Computer for the Price
This computer has all the specs I was looking for in a decent desktop PC, for less than $700. It’s fast, has minimal bloatware, and was easy to set up. The only complaint that I have is that the CPU fan is a bit loud, but other than that, it’s a great desktop PC for the price.

Good PC for every day use
Pro: Fast and silent operation. Easy to set up and configure. Reliability and Ease of Use Con: Do not like the CD/DVD player as it is very flimsy. Very difficult to locate the eject button Difficult to insert CD/DVD as I was afraid that I would break the mechanism. The front connectors are difficult to locate and to plug into the USB connectors at the right angles.

Although I was able to backdoor Windows 11 on my old W10 PC during the beta period, after a while I couldn’t get any more updates do to missing security requirements with the processor. It was an Acer also and never had an issue so I went with this new one. Speed and memory
Just what I wanted, I had an Acer that was over ten years old, never had a problem with it. Bought this one because of the speed and increase in memory. Use the computer mostly for investments and to keep up with my children. The old computer was not able to go to windows 11.
