Awesome Fitness and Health Watch
Pros:- The fitness tracking is next level. I tried Fitbit Plus and Garmin simply has more data (and you do not have to pay for it).- Battery life is terrific. I charge a few times a week but it could easily go a full week (assuming you leave off the Always On Demand watch face).- The size of the watch. Oddly, you cannot get this size watch face from all brands.Cons:- The buttons. Most people will use the touch screen but I would have preferred the “back” button to be on the left side of the watch. The majority of people are right-handed, so the watch is on their left wrist. It is awkward to try and push the bottom right button on a watch on your left hand.

Not the best interface
Love the look, but the interface on the watch is a bit complicated compared to the 2s. There is quite a bit of a set up, but really like the app including sleep tracking which will tell you the quality of sleep and recommended sleep hours for the next night. Also like the HRV status to tell me if it’s poor or balanced in which helps me realize my tiredness in the morning. I use it mainly for Mountain biking and love that it tracks my route and intensity. I also use it for Pilates which really helps with my heart rate. Battery life could be extended but you would have to disable a few features.

I loved it! The features are amazing! I use all day long, during the exercise, at work, and sleeping. The old version , Venu 2, was good but the improvement in this version got the watch much better any other. And the battery is very good.

Good watch and tracker so far…
I settled on the venu 3s after looking at different watches and fitness trackers due to the features, design, and battery life.Pros:The battery life is much better than other smart watches (I actually tease my partner about how frequently they charge their $800 apple watch when I can go at least 7 days without charging my venu 3s).Charger design makes it easy to tell if the venu 3s is charging and to keep on. Other fitness chargers/watches I’ve had to prop up a certain way to keep contact to the charger, not an issue with the venu 3s!Nap detection is a great perk for people with erratic sleep schedules (split shift workers, college students, pregnant folks, new parents). A lot of other trackers can only detect sleep during the sleep window, leading to getting the ‘you should move’ notification if you are trying to take a nap. That always annoyed me on the Fitbit. This feature is a big reason I decided to splurge for the 3s instead of an older model.Design is versatile enough that I can wear it dressed up or down.Cons:Connecting the venu 3s took 4+ tries… I’m still unclear what the issue was. Garmin does have a troubleshooting checklist to go through that helps, but it would’ve very nice if this had just worked initially.The stair accuracy may not be quite right, I’m going to investigate this over the next few weeks.The watch face is kinda large for those with smaller wrists, it will take some getting used to. I had also looked at the Garmin Lily due to the sizing, but ultimately decided I’d rather have the features of the venu 3s even with the larger watch face.Planning to update the review as I use more of the features.

Love my venu 3s!
I’ve been a fitbit user since 2017. My last versa died after a couple of years so decided to try something new. I’m so happy I went for the venu 3s, I have very small wrists and the size is great.I’m surprised I haven’t felt the need to download the data from Fitbit yet, since the garmin offers a lot more information.If you are on the fence I would say the venu 3s has way more to offer and better battery life. I just wish I had moved to Garmin sooner!

I’ve had this watch for half a day and am in love already
Very easy to set up and although I haven’t had it very long I can see clearly that it is amazing. It covers so many different functions that I’m not quite sure what it doesn’t do, it looks like it will take quite some time to set up all the functions but garmin is right there to help understand everything it does.

Good so far
Fit is smaller than expected. 41 mm case diameter is wider than my old apple watch, so I thought the 43 might feel too bulky. I like the face/case size on the 41mm, but the strap is tiny. It barely fits my wrist. I’m a guy who works out, but it’s not like I’ve got Popeye’s forearms or anything. I feel like maybe the 43 is meant to be the men’s model and the 41 the women’s, even though it doesn’t say that. If you are a dude and have big arms at all, or are kind of on the fence like I was, get the 43. I kind of wish I had.Other than that, it looks great and seems sturdy and was easy to set up and pair with my android phone. I haven’t had a chance to track any activities yet, but maybe I’ll update this in a few days

UPGRADE!!
I love this watch! I upgraded from the Vivoactive 3 that I purchased in November 2019. It still work fine, but I wanted a new device. I was fortunate to catch it on sale. The battery life is out of this world! 7.5 days later and 2 cardio works, and the battery is at 36%. My trainer loves the display as she can see my stats from a distance.I haven’t had the chance to test it out on an outside walk.I debated between this model and the Vivoactive 5. Ultimately, after watching a thorough review on YouTube, I chose the Venu 3. It has the newest heart rate monitoring technology from Garmin. The battery life is up to 14 days. It also has the ability to utilize the ECG app.I feel like this watch will last me several years, and I highly recommend it.

Garmin continues to make great products
Bought this for my partner as an upgrade from a previous generation. She seems to be happy with it which means it was a good purchase. Some functions aren’t available for apple/iOS users so beware (texting functionality, no pictures on watch face through texts, etc) so do your research if you are looking for specific functions. But….that said it is a watch that is meant for other uses and not staying connected to social media and texting from your wrist all day.

Had Samsung & Apple Watch.it’s battery life just sucks, having to recharge every day or two.Bought Venu3 for it’s battery life, and it does it’s job!14-days none stop!!having enough battey life is a life changer,especially for sleep monitoring, instead to having it to charge at night.it has all the essential functions for a smart watch.just wish its main app and watch’s UI would get better.

Beware! It does not come with a wall charger!
So disappointed that it only came with a charging cable. No stand or even a wall charger! You’ll need a USBC charger block to connect the cable to. For the price you pay, it’s not a complete package so I’m giving it only 3 stars. The watch itself is great!

The Specs are more exaggerated!!!
Form factor of the watch is good. I have 3 main complaints: Battery life suffers significantly for each app that you load. To use the sleep tracking capability including the heart monitoring, expect the battery life to be barely 7 days. Second complaint: The apps are hard to manage and download and the ones that you most likely want require a payment. 3rd complaint: There is so many apps and data fields that its hard to find things. Garmin needs to find a better user interface. Bonus complaint…sorry Garmin..the third party cover that I bought prevents access to the ecg sensor. If garmin designed the cover, they could have provided a metal bezel to allow access to the ecg.

One Major Flaw
I love this watch and the plethora of useful features… one thing made me give it 3 stars… the screen. I had the vivoactive for 5 years and only upgraded for the ecg feature after finding out I had a heart problem. The vivoactive has less and lighter scratches than this thing after just 1 month of wear. Abysmal for the price.

Great upgrade from Venu 2!
The apps and features seem to be much more available. The watch charges much faster than the Venu 2. It’s a bit lighter, a bit narrower.. I prefer it.. PS I had the Venu 2 for 90 days and returned it under a 90 day approval.. so I didn’t get into it too far.. The Venu 3 is truly a more sophisticated watch

The Venu 3 is stylish and sleek … when it works. The watch frequently freezes or is unresponsive to touch or button. There are a lot of reports of this I’m finding out. The AMOLED display is beautiful. I got the 45mm and although my wrist is a 17cm it looks great. I think a big watch can look fine on a narrow wrist if it isn’t overly thick like the Venu 3. The original band is a bit of a drag so I got a magnetic clasp band that is wonderful.Giving it 3 stars because it is rather flakey with the freezing up. I’m trying to decide on whether to return it or wait out a fix.

Great watch for tracking activities and biometrics
Bought this as a replacement for a TicWatch, and so far I’m impressed. Battery life blew me away, no more charging nightly. Metrics seem pretty accurate and the app/advanced metrics are FREE unlike the Pixel 2 (Fitbit).So far the only thing I didn’t like is Garmin still uses the proprietary charging port. Why not USB C or wireless charging?

Another winner by Garmin
This is a significant upgrade from the original Garmin Venu that I have had for years. The additional features and screen quality are exponentially better than the original version, which has been my go-to watch. I used to watch as my normal watch, and run about 30 mi a week with it. The battery is incredible, the screen is super clear, and the GPS locks almost instantly. I like it so much that my wife is probably about to upgrade her original Garmin to the smaller version (Venu 3s) of this as well.

Amazing
I was looking for a fitness tracker to replace my fitbit. I am a swim instructor so I wanted something waterproof I would not have to take off in the pool. This watch goes above and beyond what I was hoping for. It is very beautiful. The band is silicon so I don’t have to wait for it to dry. All the features of the watch are top notch, it has everything I need to track and more. I thought you couldn’t change the face of the watch and then found the app. I cannot believe how customizable this thing is. I was able to put everything I wanted on the home screen. The battery is INCREDIBLE. Lasts forever. Very impressed and so happy with my purchase.

Love the Venu 3
This watch is amazing! I cant believe the amount of info this provides (HR, ECG, respirations body battery, steps, intensity minutes, pulse ox, HRV, calories stress, HR Zones, etc). The band is very comfortable and the watch face can be modified to your liking. The battery lasts a long time and charges quickly. I love the flashlight option and the dial pad to make phone calls. The volume can be adjusted to take calls & it’s quite loud. This is the BEST Garmin watch I have ever owned. Love, love, love it!

Sooooo much better than Fitbit!!!
I absolutely love this! I have been a Fitbit person almost since they came out years ago. Since they were acquired by Google, quality has really gone down. The latest app update was horrible, I absolutely hate the Fitbit app now, so started looking for other alternatives. This watch is great! It is so easy to set up, very fast to get it up and going, and it’s way more accurate than Fitbit. I suspected hat Fitbit was cheating me out of a lot of zone minutes in yoga, as well as in running. Where I was only getting about 11 zone minutes for power yoga on my Fitbit, I now get 40 on Garmin, which made a lot more sense to me. Heart rate is way more accurate on the Garmin. I know when my heart rate is up, and Fitbit was missing it. I also wondered what food app I was going to use (not crazy about my fitness pal) but I decided to just keep using the Fitbit app for food. It’s easy enough to subtract food calories via Fitbit from total calorie expenditure via Garmin without much fuss. I do like the Fitbit app for logging food since I’ve been using it for years and all my food is already in there. I don’t mind staying with that. Garmin also has so many different apps that you can use, it’s really great and far better than any of the Fitbits I’ve had. I also love that it’s a smart watch, I can make calls, answer the phone, reply to texts etc. on my iPhone. For text replies, I just use Siri which is easily accessible by pressing the side button. Overall, the Garmin is much more accurate, easy to use, and the app is really nice looking and you get a ton of stats. It’s also easy to read and has a black background so it’s not glaring like the Fitbit app is now. Lots of different meditations, a ton of workouts that you don’t have to subscribe to get. So glad I decided to go with Garmin, highly recommend!

A Pricey but Nice Alternative to a Smart Watch or FItbit
I started looking for a new smart watch / exercise tracker after Fitbit dumbed down their app by eliminating a good deal of precision in times and miles run and also redoing their formerly excellent data display and organization a few months ago.I do not like charging a watch every night, which is necessary for the dominant smart watches, and do not like their tight linkages to particular phone-based eco systems.So I tried purchased a Garmin Venu 3 from Amazon a little over a month ago. For my purposes, it is not a massive improvement over a good Fitbit (prior to the dumbing down), but like the Fitbits that I’ve owned, it has excellent battery life (4-5 days or so is common), and is smart enough for my purposes.It was, of course, more expensive than the Fitbits that I’ve owned, but you do get somewhat more for one’s money.The screen is larger, brighter, and depending on the screen face that one adopts, more informative and easier to read–both during a daytime run and at night. The touch screen is more touch friendly–it seems more sensitive and being a bit larger is easier to touch in the “right” spot to activate an app etc.It also provides more data, much of it useful, than Fitbits do.Although the manner in which Garman displays the data in the app is not as good as the older fitbit data display, its generally better than their new app (as of Dec 2023). Also, many of the calculations are undertaken on the watch itself rather than transmitted to mother google, so one can, for example, look at sleep scores, run times, distances, and so forth even if one is off line.Overall, I am very pleased with the Venu 3. Its good looking, easy to read, has lots of flexibility (e.g. its pretty “smart”) and quite easy to set up and get going–as is the app.

Had low bar expectations
Coming from a Fitbit Sense that I had for 3 years until it wouldn’t boot anymore (dreaded stuck at Fitbit logo, did you try hard factory reset etc….).This watch is day and night. Snappy, full featured, battery lasting 1 week+, tons of apps that actually work and can be relied upon!I would have knocked 1 star out for the clunky interface (why, oh why, having apps, widgets, shortcuts, … partly overlapping, partly not), but once figured out, becomes kind of muscle memory anyway.I’ve never experienced other Samsung, Pixel or Apple watches, so I cannot compare; This watch absolutely fulfills all my current needs and more.

Better than Apple Watch
I had three Apple Watches and this is my first Garmin and I’m officially converted. I’m training for my first marathon and my Apple Watch would drain battery down from 100% to 20% in just 15 miles. It never would last a whole race. I’m on day 4 with Garmin, including a 17 mile run with my husband tracking my location, and my battery has only drained from 80% to 20% without any charging. This watch is far superior in battery, health tracking, etc. and equivalent in most other ways. I have an iPhone so Apple Watch was more customizable but for pointless things that aren’t even needed. I also am an attorney so I was always worried about a Garmin watch being too chunky to wear with a suit but it’s not. Absolutely would recommend for anyone looking for better activity tracking, better health tracking, and a really sleek look.

I’ve had all the watches you can think of and this one is the best fit so far! The battery life is outstanding and the durability is just as great! It tracks everything!! And I mean everything haha! Sometimes it can be a little to much tracking and make you feel like a lazy turd, but overall I am happy with this purchase! I would 100% recommend. The only down fall about this watch is trying to find good Quality bands.

I love everything but sleep tracking (Bad Unit?)
For use for some days, everything is sweet with the Venu3.Battery Life is great, with basic smart watch and always-on display turned off, I can get about 1 week, with even the SpO tracking on all day. That’s very impressive, because it always connects to the phone, get notification, get calls. Still. days!!!!! of usage. Certainly, this is different than Pixel or Apple watch, but it is very useful to keep the watch away from charger more than days. Daily charging is very disappointing for a smart watch. (Yes, phone charges too, but if you want sleep tracking, then putting the watch on and off daily to charge isn’t fun.)Next, unlike Fitbit, Venu3 record and show you all the data log for heart rate, SpO, HRV, bah bah bah. Yes, from morning to night. Fitbit only measure some during night, and only show you “Average” of the data. I’ll be honest, I’m not “Data Freak” but knowing my actual data during night time is WAY better than “Average” Like a section of sudden drop SpO or Breathing or Heart Rate, maybe something to look at. But if Fitbit, you wont’ know because only Average shown.The Stress score….. i’m not very sure. unless you are sleeping, 90% of time it said stress. Who knows.Ok, the most important part of this review….. The Sleep Tracking.From what I heard, Venu3 get a new senor, and many users said they improved a lot on it. Here I am, tested it. No, it isn’t. But I believe I have a bad unit.I had experience with Withings Scanwatch2, Garmin Venu3, Fitbit Charge6, and another older Fitbit.IF!! My Venu3 is a good copy, then Garmin, you need to figure out a way to allow Customers to adjust the sensitivity of sleep stage.Ok, detail of that issue. These trackers have the sleep tracking, and the result will show in different sleeping stage, Awake, REM, Light, Deep. These trackers also “Auto” detect the start of sleep, and detect you wake up. Sounds good, and nice, right?First of all, the Auto Detect of start time, don’t count on it too much. Unless you are those that once you get on bed, the only thing you do is sleep. No phone, nothing. But if you do other thing, such as read a book, listen music or such while lying down on bed, then the start time will be inaccurate. That’s fine, because you can edit the sleep time after to make it correct.Then comes the most important part. How well do you sleep. The quality of sleep. This is why people use the tracker at night. One thing to remember, REM, Light, and Deep, are only accurate to some point, but as long as you are in Light or deep most of the time, you sleep well. The awake stage tho, is how often and how long or how much time during sleep you are kept awake or interrupted. Clear enough, the more you are awake, the worse it get.So far, Fitbit is the leader from my testing. The results match my personally feeling the MOST. such as how well I feel recharged, and how often I got awake, and how long for the awake.Scanwatch2 is the second on the stage accuracy, but misses start time and wake up time quite large.Last, Garmin Venu3. The worse of all. I have attached 2 days data to show the comparing Garmin and Fitbit. Disregard how well they detect start and end time of sleep, because that can be edit. The most important part to look at the data, is stage. From Garmin result, 50% or more of the time I am awake. and in time that I can be awake for over 2 hours while the Fitbit show none of those crazy awake time.Originally I didn’t plan to wear Venu3 and Fitbit together to sleep to test against each other. But when I spoke with Garmin Rep. The rep said maybe I am just way too active during night sleep, so it determine as awake. Great, while I don’t record my sleep video, I don’t know for sure. Maybe I do keep my arms up in the air and keep waving for hours? Anyways, so I decided to add the Fitbit on the same arm at night to get results to compare. This is what I got. Very stable sleep from Fitbit, very Unstable sleep from Garmin.Result, I am not super active at night, I didn’t wave my arms up in the air for hours during sleep. So Garmin Rep, it isn’t my problem. The tracker is the problem.While many said Venu3 is quite good for sleep tracking, so I think mine is just a faulty unit. But I still want to leave a review here to allow buyers to see the possibility of faulty unit.

One of the best Garmin’s for me
Been diagnosed with AFlutter/AFIB so was looking for a watch that would do O2, ECG and monitor heart + do all the other things a Garmin does well. Tried the Samsung Classic watch but recharging daily was not my thing as I bought to monitor and taking off wrist each day is a pain. Both Garmin and Samsung pair well with my old Android phone (S10+). But not having to charge for more than a week is a game changer for me. Like the newer Garmin approach to menus and option selection and watch face options are pretty neat. Display is bright and clear. I use alarms and timer daily and often – really handy.

Don’t Be a Beta TEster
I have an original Venu which I loved, but was looking for something that could do ECG and longer battery life. When I droped by Venu on the concrete and cracked the display and then found it would cost $160 to have the watch replaced by Garmin I decided to investigate the Venu 3. I eagerly open the box and went through the pairing process. Already I noticed that the swiping movements on the display took more effort and frequently did not register compared to the original Venu. I got everything working even the ECG app but then made the mistake of signing on to be a Beta tester. Immediately new software downloaded, but when I tried the ECG app again I received a message that stated it did not work with the Beta version. I took my name of the Beta testing but the softwre on the watch remained. Several conversations ensued with Garmin with the result being that I could not go back to the real software until they released a new version and the date of that release was not known. So I sent it back for refund. As for other aspects of the watch. Some of the new features looked promising, but the changes in software are a big step back. Also do not go into the Demo mode. I was playing around with it and went in after reading you had to push the bottom button 8 times to exist. For 4 hours I tried to get out of that mode. The old system was better.So in summary I was a big Garmin fan, but this is not their best. I bought Venus for all my relatives. I am not sure whether I will buy another Venu 3, but am looking seriously at cheaper watches such as the Amazfit or evening replacing the old Venu.

Inaccurate and overpriced
I tried this watch side by side with an Apple SE simultaneously and found that the integration with the iPhone is not great but that’s to be expected. What surprised me was the Garmin routinely missed steps in real time and the heart rate monitor was consistently higher than the SE during walking and other workouts. There are some good videos out there that test the accuracy of the different monitors which seem to corroborate my anecdotal experience. The battery life is the shining factor for this watch and it is really good, but everything else felt clunky and cheap, despite an AMOLED display. I wanted to love this thing but it’s WAY overpriced for what you get. Too many smartwatch options out there that are sub $300. This one will be returned

Paring Difficulties
Watch stared out working very well. After 2 weeks connection was lost and then regained with phone at random times. Proximity with the phone and watch varied greatly from 30 feet to 2 inches, it didn’t matter how close it was or was not. Eventually paring was lost completely and I was unable to reestablish it. Tried everything from removing the app and reinstalling to turning off phone and watch, many tries all resulted in “fail to connect”. Phoned Garmin support and was assisted by a very pleasant employee who went through the paring steps while on the phone, still failed. The next step was to see if it would pair to another phone. the only other phone available was my wife’s iPhone, (by the way did I mention my phone is android). She was not in favor of doing this because of the troubles I had, and that the possible failure could result in her phone not working, I didn’t want to be responsible for that either. Have returned the watch.

Good watch for the price
It’s not for the men, my husband did not like it but you can switch out the band if you want . It says the 3 S does fit both men and women but it’s a little on the slim side . Other than that it has some nice sleep features he likes it better than his old Samsung watch

Great upgrade from my Vivoactive 4
I’ve been using Garmin’s watches as far back as the original Vivoactive, and most recently the Vivoactive 4. The Venu 3 is a great upgrade. The VA4’s battery was beginning to fail (needed charging every 2 or 3 days). The battery life of the V3 is impressive, and unlike the VA4 I can pair all my bike sensors (couldn’t pair my power sensor to the VA4). The AMOLED screen is beautiful and I have no problems reading it in bright sun or while I’m cycling. The additional health-based data will be useful too. All in all I’m very pleased with it!

Amazing value
Beautiful product, easy to set up and use. Love the longevity of battery…and the Garmin app super easy to sync. My old device and mobile app had so much trouble working…..always malfunctioning or freezing – its been like night and day making the switch.Highly recommend.

Charger often fails to work
About the 4th or 5th time I went to charge the watch, I began to have issues. I’d return to check status after 30 minutes and the charge would be the same or down a percent from when I plugged it in. There is no lightening bolt or other symbol to let you know if it is charging or not. It sometimes makes a sound but but I think that only means a connection was initially made. It does not mean the connection is solid and charging will commence. So I wait 15 minutes and then look to see if it has gained any charge. Often it has not so I unplug cable on all ends- reinsert- wait another 15 minutes and check again. It sometimes takes 3 or 4 tries before it gets a good connection and charges up. When you plug the cable into the phone there it is not smooth. It kind of feels like it is scraping its way into the slot. Very frustrating. I don’t know if I got a lemon or if this issue is common. Battery life is good once i am able to get it charged.

Was a gift .
This was a gift to my wife at Christmas as I have one and she had a different model of Garmin that she had for several years and her model was much more difficult to navigate through the different programs, The Garmin Venu 3 is so much easier to navigate and she absolutely loves it as she is not the most techie person, this is a fantastic watch. As I had come for more than one Apple Watch this does not need charging every day like an Apple Watch I go 10 to 14 days on a charge.

Useful watch
Purchased for the ECG function – which does work. Also useful for workouts – strength training, for example, helps to keep track of number of sets completed. Battery life is excellent for a smart watch.

WAY better than Fitbit- accurate, great battery
I switched to this Garmin watch after using Fitbit for 4 years, and I will never go back. My Fitbit’s typically broke after a year, and the heart rate monitor on them is not very accurate. My heart rate would be way up in cardio and measuring at 110 on the Fitbit.I find this watch always is on point with my heart rate.I love this watch! I have had it a couple months and am hooked.Pros: Cute (though large), amazing battery, accurate heart rate monitor, SO many fitness and health features, no monthly charge for all the features like FItbit Premium.Con: A bit large, even for the smaller watch in the series. I am a small person at 5’2, and I have tiny wrists. The band reaches right around my whole wrist. It took me a couple days to get used to the large watch face on my arm, too. Also, it seems to think I am always wicked stressed even when I don’t feel stressed – which is weird to me.Other notes: you can import your Fitbit stats on the Garmin Connect website, though it is a bit annoying and you can’t really get everything like workouts converted. I don’t use the call/ voice features, but they work just fine. I also don’t use music and have not tried it.

As good as advertised
I like most everything about the Venu 3. I wanted a fitness/health tracker and it does a great job with all of that. My guess is the Apple Watch is better as a smartwatch for answering calls, texts, emails etc….but I didn’t want or need that. I get my calls and texts on the watch and that’s all I care about. The GPS links up very fast for runs and bike rides. Very happy. I’m not super techy and I found it all to be pretty easy to set up. I don’t have a real big wrist and still decided to go with the bigger size and happy I did.

Super versatile
I upgraded from the vivoactive 2, which in my opinion was a bit more user friendly. The screen is super bright and has many different clock screens and widgets available. The more I use it the more I like the buttons over just the touch screen. I think I’m going to buy another one for my wife

Absolutely unusable on Android and horrible UI
There are so many things wrong with this watch it’s hard to begin. First off I was trying really hard to get past all the problems and try to get used to the watch. My last watch was a fossil 4 and it was amazing. The only downside to that watch which was a huge downside was the battery couldn’t last a full day when using the watch functionality regularly. Unfortunately, Fossil has stopped making their smartwatches and have gone a different direction so now I’m left with trying to find another brand that is as good and has a better battery. I thought I found something better when I found Garmin’s venu series. I was sorely mistaken.Let’s start with the only two positives I have about this watch: Physical aesthetics and battery life. I bought the 41 mm diameter version of this watch and it feels and looks amazing. It’s extremely light and the face and back of it have the dimensions of a small and unobtrusive as well as elegant looking watch. Battery life, I haven’t had a chance to test just because I was disgusted by the watch after the first 30 minutes of trying to get it set up. On paper, the battery life looks amazing so I’m just going to give Garmin the benefit of the doubt and say that, yes, it will probably last a full 10 days.All right, now to the laundry list of garbage associated with this watch that makes it completely unusable.1. This watch is incapable of connecting to my Wi-Fi router. I’m pretty good at setting up devices on my router. I can set them up with automatic settings or manual settings pretty easily. Anything that has the ability to connect to a modern router I’ve been able to connect to my router. So far I’ve had several failed attempts at connecting to my Wi-Fi from this watch. I’ve attempted to make the connection from the watch itself as well as from the Garmin app. I’ve restarted the watch and attempted these connections again. I’ve also attempted doing the connection manually on the watch by setting the security type of my network as well. I know the SSID and password for my network like the back of my hand so the chance of user error trying to set this up is zero. This reason alone is enough to return the watch. Without Wi-Fi access there’s no way to configure apps, there’s no way to install apps, there’s no way to sync up data to my phone, basically you can’t use the watch for anything other than checking the time. If that’s all I wanted then I would have gotten a cheapo $20 piece of garbage at the store that only tells time.2. The UI is nowhere near as good as WearOS 3.0. Garmin touts their watch as a device for active people who are outside a lot and want to track their location, distance, calories and everything else associated with being active. To do this, they decided to build their own operating system/app instead of piggybacking off of what Google made. That was a big mistake because there UI and UX designers are absolutely incompetent at building a user experience that is intuitive and easy to use.The way you have to swipe around to get to different screens is not as intuitive as WearOS. All of the swiping is mostly vertical and really only gives you exercise and activity screens. You can swipe right to give you a custom screen which could either be a music app or a couple of other different options. That’s it. That’s all you get. For $450 that is pathetic. Furthermore the physical sliding of your finger across the screen has to be perfectly done from the outer edge of the screen to make a swipe register. My Fossil watch would let you start your swipe from anywhere on the screen and as long as you swiped in a particular direction that it recognized (Left, right, up, down) it would do as you asked.I would love to have reviewed the rest of the watch such as the activity functionality as I was using it, The GPS accuracy, the battery life, and everything else associated with using The everloving atrocity that is the Venu 3S, but alas, Garmin made it impossible to actually use their watch. I wonder if this was a ploy by the engineering team to sabotage the company. It sure feels like it.
