    Excellent binoculars for the price.

Excellent binoculars for the price. I don’t need anything better. I’m just a casual user these days – my offshore sailing days are over. I am very pleased that they perform as well as they do without an $800 expenditure. They seem to be well made.

These are great for clarity and light gathering ability

These are great for clarity and light gathering ability. I also have a pair of Nikon 10-22 X 50 and an older pair of Nikon 8X40. The 7X50 are my new go to binoculars. They are sharper and have a wider field of view than the 10-22X50. The sharpness makes up a lot for the less magnification. I’ll switch to the 10-22X50s when I want more magnification, but these will be my primary glasses. The old 8X40s will be backup.

    Daily use favorite!

Very bright. Strong light gathering capabilities. Excellent exit pupil relief makes these binoculars very easy to see through without a lot of fumbling and adjusting. I use them for astronomical viewing, birding, and general spying with good results. Built like a tank. I prefer using this power over my identical 16×50 Nikon Action ATB or the Meade 10x50s. Not the same magnification but I am willing ot sacrifice a little detail for speed and ease of use.

    The best binoculars

We gifted these binoculars to our son. My husband is an astronomy enthusiast and knew this would be the very best pair offered.

    Good image quality

I love the image quality of them! Doing lookouts on a boat, they were perfect. I wish the eye cups weren’t so poor quality. I went to show them to a shipmate, and he took the cover off, which took one of the eyecups off. It stripped the eyecup and I could never get it to work again. I had to return them. If Nikon would put the good old fashioned rubber eyecups on these they would be a home run.

    Great binoculars.

I’m a commercial fisherman & I use the binoculars several hours a day looking for fish. For the price you can’t beat em. The wide field of vision & clear optics are perfect for my profession. I get a new pair every couple of years because the rubber coating starts to fall off after awhile. But they are well worth the $125 price tag.

Nikon Action 7×50 Ex Extreme ATB Binocular

These are good, low priced binoculars. They came in a cheap, but solid case. I would not buy a case for these until you see the one that comes with them. For many people, this case will be good enough. These binoculars seem to be well made and have a good shock resistant coating on them. They have straps. They are about as heavy as you want binoculars to be without using a tripod.

    Overrated in Brightness

I found out the 10×50 was brighter and you get a greater magnification even though they said this would be brighter. Well, not in real world testing.10×50 is the best value.

They’re very clear and great in low light

They’re very clear and great in low light, but they are a bit heavy and bulky. The plastic that touches the eye is not very comfortable.

These seem to be of good quality, however

These seem to be of good quality, however, they have individual lens covers with no tethers. It is annoying to have to take off the two separate front and the rear objective cover and find a place to store them, especially on a boat or hunting! They will certainly be lost soon. Sometimes you have to wonder if the people that make certain things actually use them.

Amazing for the price if you don’t want/need more power

Amazing for the price if you don’t want/need more power. The 7×50 brings in a LOT more light than the 8×42 or 10×50 and are great for stargazing or moon gazing. Also great for terrestrial use of course.

Really good for senior wildlife watcher.

Bright, comfortable, and good image, with or without glasses. Yes, a bit heavy, but I think that helps stabilize them.Focusing is smooth. My hands are not so steady anymore, but I can see through these.

    Marvelous 7×50 Nikon Action EX

Outstanding performance in all aspects: fast snapping precise focus adjustment, clarity, lack of noticeable optical distortion, neutral coloring of targets, no noticeable CA, flare and very comfortable handling for this viewer.

    Great binoculars

The Nikon binoculars are excellent. The optics are clear and offer sharp magnification yet is easily handheld for a steady image. Low light performance is great. The rubber finish provides excellent protection from bumps and moisture gives a secure grip. A really great product.

Twist up eyecup broke within two weeks of owning.

I’m not sure if this is a fundamental design problem or just a case of a manufacturing defect however the left twist up eyecup came off my pair while removing the cover after only a few weeks of ownership. I’ve probably used them less then a dozen times. I put the cup back on but I believe a small ball bearing fell out that makes them lock at various stages. I would use the warranty if these weren’t so new.Its unfortunate because otherwise these are nice binoculars. They seem, other then the eyecups, very solidly built.

Great for astronomy and low-light viewing

It’s not featherweight, but this binocular is fairly easy to hold up to your eyes for extended star-watching sessions. Does a great job of revealing deep-sky objects on a starry night, and it’s also excellent for general, daytime use. Images are sharp and vivid with no distortion that I can see.

    Awesome!

I’ve had these for almost a year and they have exceeded my expectations. The image is so sharp and crisp compared to “cheap” binoculars I’ve used. Only downside is that I quickly lost the end caps (while stargazing without a flashlight!), since they are not attached.

Nikon EX Extreme All-Terain Binoculars have a very sharp image.

A bit heavy but for the price and view these binoculars can’t be match. I love Nikons for solid build and sharp view. I use these in low light conditions because of the marvelous bright sharp views. All my Porro Binoculars are used for sky viewing. Most 42 mm roof type binoculars may give you a sharp view but the viewing brightness is not great no matter how many coats on their lens… I save roof binoculers for bird watching because of lightness and the light of the day is good.Of course with enough money invested in a Roof Binocular with exotic lense coatings you may get a bright view at night.

Super sharp and excellent quality. Excellent night sky ability. (Nikon 7239 7×50)

These are excellent. Nikon 7239 7×50 Extreme. I bought them for looking at the night sky and they were brilliant, they made the blackness blacker in bright moonlight. Pretty light to hold up so that helped while watching for meteors and looking at the moon. I wanted the 10×50 but they were not just for me, my spouse needed to use them too so lightness was a requirement. They needed to be rugged as I hike, mountain bike and let others use them. We went to the Sacramento river to do some fishing and in very bright sunlight the clarity was excellent. There is some aberration on the edges of the feathers – I think that’s what it is – when I was watching Buzzards when they were in very bright sunlight. But away from the sun they were crisp and sharp. Watching Dragonflies above the water from about 300ft was excellent, you could see their colours.Super sharp and excellent for what I wanted especially for the low cost and with the waterproofing, shock resistance and quality. I will definitely get another pair of Nikons.

Great for Low Light Hunting Situations

Purchased these in preparation for the 2014 Deer season in Georgia. Most of the hunting I do is from tree or tower type stands located in the woods or on the edges of meadows surrounded by woods. Shot distance can range from 25 yards to over 250 yards, but the majority are 50 to 100 yards and in the low light conditions prevalent at dawn or dusk. Temperatures can range from warm to very cold and rain and snow are never out of the question. All that said, I needed a set of binoculars that focus quickly, work in low light conditions, are usable for both short and long range situations and are rugged enough to handle all the above listed conditions. Not only that but, they had to be user friendly in consideration of the fact that I wear eyeglasses……………….and Oh, they needed to be pocketbook friendly as well !Extensive research pointed me to the Nikon Action 7X50 EX Extreme ATB Binoculars, which I then purchased from Amazon for $139.95. While hunting season is still several months in the future, I have tested these in low light conditions in the areas that I hunt and I have come away VERY IMPRESSED! They soak up all the light available in hunting situations, focus with ease and as a bonus have extraordinary eye relief (very important for a glasses wearer). Certainly you can spend a whole lot more money if you are of a mind, but you will be missing the tremendous VALUE that these Nikons offer. Can’t wait for hunting season!

Nikon Action Extreme the brightest binoculars $500.00 I have ever looked through

I primarily use these for astronomy . They are very sharp and contrasty . They are literally even when compared to binoculars that cost 3-5 times what they cost are the brightest binoculars I have ever looked through . The quarter moon makes you squint and stars are literally almost 3D. The stars are pinpoints and there is very little field curvature . I could see M31 with ease though dim with a quarter moon and the Double cluster was amazing and I saw another dim galaxy as well but could nopt confirm its name yet . With averted vison you can see many deep sky wonders. In the day light they are awesome literally . You get bright, super contrast ,3D like preformance . Though they may not be the best binoculars I have eveer looked through you might have to spend $5-800.00 more to get the same view . Nikon did a good thing when they made these binoculars . For 140.00 ish they are probably the best optical investment I have ever made, for astronomy or day time use . They really excell in low light use with the 50mm objectives and are farily wide at 5.6 degree field of view. If you are on the fence as to which binoculars under $200.00 to buy these should be high on your list . Go get these and be done with it .

The product pictured is the product recieved Nikon Action 7239 EX Binoculars!!!

I had a problem with a question regarding the description of the 7239’Action 7×50 binocular and no one even Amazon customer service could verify the discrepancy.. I took a chance anyway and ordered the product and I received the titled and pictured binoculars “7239 “ Nikon Action 7×50 .The binoculars are of good quality and construction easy to handle and not of significant weight to cause arm strain. The optical coatings are superior to many competitors. It comes with a black padded soft nylon case that has a single strap loop for transport and Velcro closure to secure the case’s cover for the binoculars. There is also provided soft plastic lense covers for each 4 lenses and the adaptability for them to be attached to the black nylon / polyester lanyard ( neck strap ) but this seems to be a mild convenience and annoyance as opposed to securing lense covers ( when not in use ) inside the travel bag. There is not a tripod adapter included but it is available as an optional accessory.Close range use is approximately 18 to 20 feet for sharp focus, This is good for nature and ornithology but the primary purpose is for the up coming 2018 lunar eclipse at the end of January and general amateur astronomy for ease of use and mobility. Which was taken as sage advise from the scientific community and seasoned veteran hobbiest. Which I have no buyer remorse in, an am confident in my purchase at this time.

    WOW!

These binoculars are freakin awesome! If you are looking for high end binoculars these are them. I bought them and recieved right before a recent hunting trip here in South Texas and WOW! I just cant believe how clear and how much light is gathered by this product. I was using the binoculars to scout for deer and hogs just around dusk and was loosing light quick and when four deer showed up I could easily identify the animals features. When I transitioned to the rifle (with a bushnell scope that I like alot) I could not see the deer as well and therefore passed on the shot. These binoculars outshined my scope by far and now I just purchased the Nikon Monarch 3-12 x 42 scope after being so impressed with these binoculars. I have also used these binoculars to observe deer in the field behind my house at night, yes I said it – at night. There is a little residual light from some street lamps and the deer are not visible by the naked eye except maybe a little dark spot. I take out the binos and WOW there were four deer about three hundred yards away eating some brush that I could not even see with the naked eye.BONUS – These binos also have a feature I have never experienced with binoculars before – The eye relief is actually best at about 1/2 inch away from the face. That means if you are wearing shooting glasses or sunglasses you don’t have to remove them to scan.OVERALL-GREAT PRODUCT / EXCELLENT CLARITY / AMAZING LIGHT GATHERING ABILITY / UNBELIEVABLE EYE RELIEFQUESTION NO MORE – IF YOU ARE READING THIS JUST BUY THEM

    Nikon Binoculars very nice

Although a little heavy, these binoculars are great. What I really like is the adjustable eyepieces that work well with my glasses. They met all our expectations for our outdoor adventures, watching wolves in Yellowstone and our favorite bird haunts. We worked out the weight with a great harness that takes the weight off your neck and puts it mid-back.

    I Love my Nikon 7x50s!

On the recommendation of an experienced birder, I purchased a pair of Nikon 7×50 binoculars (model: 220637) when I was 18. I used them for my USFS biological tech field work during the 80s and for birding. The Nikon 7 x 50s large field of view and magnification make viewing wildlife a joy. Their strong light gathering capability is great for star gazing and seeing the moons of Jupiter too. Fast forward thirty-three years. Last month, I purchased the Nikon Action 7×50 EX Extreme ATB Binoculars (model: 7239) and lovingly retired my old pair of Nikons. January birding on the Pacific Flyway and observing an active short-eared owl at dusk with my new binoculars were priceless. The Nikon Action 7×50 EX Extreme ATB Binoculars are of exceptional quality at a great price. They make tracking moving birds easy. Observing bird plummage and bird behavior becomes intimate with the crisp clear maginification . Low-light performance is outstanding, and I like their waterproof, fogproof, shockproof performance.

    Great Binoculars for the Boat!

I bought these Nikon 7×50 Extreme ATB binoculars from Amazon to replace a more expensive pair that were stolen out of my car. I couldn’t be happier with these!hey are light and easy to focus, and the eyecups retract out of the way when you turn them which is great for me as I wear glasses or sunglasses most of the time. The images one sees are clear and crisp but more impressive than their clarity is their ability to present the subject that one is viewing in way that the image appears to be almost 3-D. They are water and fog proof which is a must for us, and the “rubberized” outer covering keeps them from sliding of the counter when the boat is heeling way over! I found them to be much lighter than my previous pair though they cost less than a third of what the others cost me some 20 years ago! I haven’t found anything that I don’t like about these glasses, “Thanks to both Nikon and Amazon for giving me way more than I expected for the money!”

Nikon 7×50 EX Extreme ATB are Extremely Bright

The Nikon 7×50 EX Extreme ATB Binoculars are amazing in terms of their field of view. I have used many different brands and sizes of binoculars. from Steiner 8×22 compacts to 7×35, 7×50 and 15×70 Bushnell and Celestrons, and Canon IS 10×30, 12×36 and 18×60 versions, and none have as flat and distortion-free field of view as the Nikon’s. Daylight viewing is incredibly sharp in the Nikon 7×50 EATB. At night, the stars are pinpoint sharp even at the outer rim of the viewing area. If anything, the only problem with the 7×50 Nikon’s is that they collect so much light that the light polluted skies around Chicago tend to wash out stars and planets that are not in the middle half of the viewing area. (See my review of the Bushnell 10×42 Legend Ultra HD 10×42 for further comparisons). The 10×50 version of the Nikon, or the Legend UHD might be slightly preferable for urban viewers solely for that reason.

    Yep, they are binoculars.

I like these bino’s. They work as they should. If I had one qualm, it would be that I should have gotten a pair with stronger magnification. But that’s on me, not on the quality of the bino’s. The reason I did pick the 7x magnification is because I read on a binocular website that the higher the magnification, the more any shaky movement is apparent when looking at an image, esp. when they get into the 15x range. These Bino’s work as advertised, seem sturdy, and I look forward to many years of use. Oh, if you are looking to purchase a pair of bino’s, you can’t go wrong by choosing a pair from Nikon, Bushnell, Canon, or one of the other higher end manufacturers. Pay a little bit more for quality, it’s worth it. Like we say in the tattoo industry, “Good tattoos are not cheap, and cheap tattoos are not good.” That saying pretty much works for every product. Peace.

    Best in Class

Pros:Excellent low light capability.Very clear glass. (you won’t find better glass in this price range)Item shipped in perfect conditionsomewhat ruggedized7x50 is awesome for low light.Cons:BulkyHeavyCrappy lens coversNo extra features, they’re very basicI would say if you don’t mind the bulk/weight of these binoculars and you’re looking to spend <$200 then definitely get these. I was a Forward Observer in the military and have had the opportunity to use some very expensive optics. I was surprised how good these were for the price. If you need something more compact, and you've got a little more to spend, I'd look very seriously at the new Monarch 5 series. For what these are though, they're really good. I'm not disappointed with them in the least. 5 people found this helpful

Didn’t work for Christmas Comet 2020.

This was suggested as an imperfect, but ok, set for seeing the stars and the Christmas Comet. It is not. It’s a wonderful set of binoculars, yes, but it does nothing for the night sky. I gave these to my son for his birthday, hoping it would be good enough to see the Christmas Comet. It wasn’t. He still likes the binoculars for other purposes, and was happy to have them. So, they are good, but not for observing the heavens. Don’t expect them to do otherwise.

    Rugged, quality binoculars. Great value.

I can’t believe how cheap these are. The optics are quality, and they are built to last and take environmental abuse. Some may say 7x isn’t enough magnification, but for me, it is about right for most applications. The 50mm aperture is great for binocular astronomy or other low light conditions. Only drawbacks are that they are a bit heavy (price you pay for waterproofing and a big aperture), and the strap is nothing special (it never is).

Highly recommend. Super clear and bright. Powerful for the money.

Used these on three week camping trip in Wyoming and South Dakota. They work wonderfully. Super clear and bright. Much better than most other campers binoc we came across on our trip. They fold in for narrow children’s eyes (our three n five year olds) as well as folding way out to suit my wide-set eyes. Well worth the money. Very pleased with this purchase. Only annoying thing is that one of the end’s end caps don’t have a way to safely and permanently attach to the straps so a pain to take off the caps and stick them in your pocket and then retrieve again.

    Bright/sharp image

For the price, I don’t think you can do much better. I had a pair of roof prism binoculars that cost twice as much as these and I was not happy. I returned those and bought this pair. In this price range, Porro prism binoculars are the way to go (they produce a superior image, IMHO). I must be old-school because I actually prefer the Porro prism design, I find them easier to hold and easier to keep aligned with my eyes. The fact that these are 100% waterproof is a bonus making them perfect for the outdoors and for boating.

    Great Product.

I purchased these to help identify deer during dusk/dawn conditions. First time out I was able to count the point on deer at 75 yards that I could not see with my naked eye. The 50mm objective lens really draws in the light as they are advertised to do. I have used for two seasons now, and have not had any issues with fogging or any other problems. I initially was going to purchase a more expensive product, but I’m glad I didn’t.

    Shame on you, Nikon!

When looking through these binoculars with one eye, each side was perfectly clear. However, when looking with both eyes, the center was clear while the edges were blurry. It was an intolerable visual effect. Had to return them. Nikon should get one star for this, UPS should get one star for s-l-o-w shipping back to the vendor, but the Amazon vendor should get five stars as they permitted the return of these binoculars and issued a refund in short order. Nikon should also be ashamed and embarrassed for shipping their product without adjusting it to eliminate this collimation error. Very morally poor and unprofessional of Nikon as they made both the Amazon vendor and end-customer suffer due to their inappropriate decision making and apparent greed.

    Really pleased

Just right. Great quality optics for nature spotting or star-gazing. Really good in low light and light fog scenarios. Really great value and probably the only ones you’ll ever need. Friends have tried them and all were impressed.

    Country of origin

Would have given 5 stars but after looking very closely, and spotted made in China on the bottom of the binoculars. To bad they are listed on Amazon as USA as country of origin. Amazon needs to tighten up on these abuses of information on there web site. I have spotted this so many times now I have started making more purchases at brick and mortar retailers.

These binoculars were a surprise gift for my mom to bird watch, and she is thrilled with them! They are actually a bit larger and heavier than she needed, but she is managing! 🙂

    Great Binoculars

Our last binoculars wound up falling in the pond, leaked water and were ruined. They were 50 year old Sears technology. There’s a world of new technology with these new Nikons!
