The best monopod I have ever owned.
The only downside to this monopod is that it can be a bit big and heavy.I have their other model that has screw on locks. The other model is a lot smaller and lighter but it doesn’t have feet. The feet to this thing is extremely nice. It’s removable (I don’t see a reason for that) and it holds my camera well and I can tilt and adjust it to my liking.The screw plate on the top can easily be removed through their quick release system. Having the ability to change the screw’s size by flipping it is extremely helpful.You’re definitely doing it at your own risk but this can almost act as a tripod as well with those feet but do keep in mind, wind is a factor 😅

Tough and versatile
Just came back from a 3 week trip to South Africa where this got plenty of use. The tripod was more useful than the monopod for me but I’m glad I had both. I wish the monopod was a little shorter so it would’ve fit into a backpack.

Well made monopod
I bought this for a Signa 150 to 600 lens. I have only tried it once so far but it had some wobble issues. I was not able to get the connection between the lens and the monopod tight enough. One thing I did like was the feet, they were quite sturdy.

Excellent design and quality. I use it w/ my binoculars (and camera) when birding. Keep in mind the tripod is small, which is fine on a table but not as stable when extended obviously (but still good for my purposes).

SIRUI AM-404FL Einbeinstativ Monopod mit Standfuß, 190 cm Aluminium Stativ, innovatives Schnellverschluss-Design, 360°-Panorama-Panning, 4 Abschnitte, maximale Belastung 12 kgInteressante Fehlkonstruktion: 3 Füße, die nicht stehen – ein Einbein mit Sockel und 1,4 kg Masse?Das Einbeinstativ mit Wasserwaage, hemm- und verriegelbarer Drehvorrichtung oben, Schnellverschlüssen oben und unten sowie einem verriegelbaren Kugelkopf unten wurde hochwertig und mit vielen Details konstruiert und hergestellt. Durch den kaum sinnvollen Sockel wurden die meisten Zusätze, die Komplexität, Masse und Preis erhöhen, erst notwendig.Dass ein Einbein-Stativ mit recht kleinem Dreibein-Fuß, Video-Neiger und montierter Kamera einschließlich schwerem Objektiv in voll ausgezogener Höhe nicht stabil steht, ist schon beim Anschauen der Artikelfotos und vor einer Bestellung leicht absehbar. Allerdings habe ich gehofft, wenigstens in Brusthöhe bzw. bei Verwendung im Sitzen in Augenhöhe steht die Kombination mit Videoneiger und Kamera halbwegs. Dies ist nicht der Fall. Sirui bietet übrigens im eigenen Webshop Einbeinstative mit Sockel und Videoneiger in Kombination an. Die Kombination aus Stativ und Videoneiger (Manfrotto MVH500AH, flache Basis, ca. 900 g) in auf Bauchhöhe ausgezogenem Zustand ist schnell und ohne Bücken greifbar und platzsparend, weil stehend aufzubewahren. Wegen versehentlichem Anstoßen besser in einer Ecke ohne Zugang von Kindern. Da so die menschliche Arbeitshöhe erreicht ist, wird die Kameramontage einschließlich Balance-Ausgleich erleichtert. Dann darf man den Griff allerdings nicht mehr loslassen. Das sind wohl die einzigen Vorteile des Einbeinstativs mit Sockel, das mit 1,4 kg Masse doppelt so schwer ist wie andere. Als Tischsockel eingesetzt (Videokopf direkt auf den Fuß montiert), lassen sich leichte Kameras wohl ausbalancieren. Mit Videoneiger, voll zusammengeschobenen Einbein mit Sockel auf einem Tisch (Kamera so in Augenhöhe, Benutzer stehend) hat man bereits einen sehr unsicheren Stand, Windsböen und unbeabsichtigtes Anstoßen am Tisch dürfen nicht auftreten. Nach Montage der Kamera kann der Haltegriff des Einbeins nicht losgelassen werden.Die 3 Füße sind nur etwa 18 cm lang. Mittig zwischen 2 Fußenden zum Mittelpunkt der Säule (Einbein) gemessen, ergeben sich etwa 10 cm als wirksame Hebellänge, worüber ein Dreibein über 2 Füße als Weg des geringsten Widerstandes kippt. Welchen Sinn hat ein mit Kugelkopf am Einbein montierbarer Sockel, der nicht sicher steht? Und bei der Biegung des Einbeins am Fuß während eines Ausschwingvorganges nach leichtem Anstoßen und mit den dünnwandigen U-Profilen (nicht verdrehsicher, bei 3 waagerechten Füßen tritt zwangläufig Verwindung auf) ist es sehr, sehr unwahrscheinlich, dass die beworbenen 12 kg Zuladung korrekt sind: Mit montiertem Videoneiger (900 g) und einer eingestellten Höhe von 130 cm (Schnellwechselplatte des Videoneigers) habe ich das Ende der Schwingungen nach leichtem Anstoßen nach 10 s festgestellt (Stand auf Fliesen).Kann man das Stativ mit Sockel im Gelände (weicher Boden, Schmutz, Schlamm etc.) einsetzen? Eher nicht, man schaue sich die komplexe Mechanik mit Kugelgelenk und ohne Abdeckungen sowie den bodennahen Montageort der Klappfüße an. Und bei unebenem Gelände muss man den Kugelkopf unten am Fuß einstellen. Kann man das Einbein ohne Sockel im Gelände verwenden? Schlecht: Der vom Sockel ans Einbein ummontierbare Gummifuß hat einen Durchmesser von nur 3 cm, versinkt also leicht in weichem Boden. Der Fuß hat nur etwa 2 mm Gummiüberzug über einen Spike, ein Stand mit Bewegungen auf rauem Beton wird nicht lange gut gehen, dann ist der Gummi durchgerieben, Metall kratzt mit unangenehmen Geräuschen auf Beton, Rutschgefahr. Ein Ersatz des Gummifußes wird kaum möglich sein, der Fuß ist sehr speziell/proprietär konstruiert (Gewindehülse/-buchse mit Innengewinde, ca. 30 mm Durchmesser).Offenbar handelt es sich beim angebotenen/beurteilten Monopod wieder mal um einen chinesischen Nachbau europäischer (italienischer) Produkte ohne sinnvolle Verbesserung. Siehe Manfrotto MVMXPROA4 (und dessen Vorgängermodelle, Ebay-Angebote) sowie kritische Amazon-Rezensionen aus Italien und Großbritannien dazu. Bei Bedarf übersetzen lassen.Über die unabhängige Urteilsfähigkeit und Kompetenz von Vine-“Testern” nach Produktgeschenken sollte man sich ernsthaft Gedanken machen – insbesondere bei auffällig vielen 5-Sterne-“Rezensionen”.Persönliche Schlussfolgerungen:- Retoure, weil wenige Vorteile wurden mit zu vielen und praktisch relevanten Nachteilen erreicht- Erwerb eines bewährten, einfachen, nicht überkonstruierten Marken-Einbeinstatives ohne Sockel (mit möglicher Nachbestellung von Ersatzteilen z. B. Gummifuß, Spike, Klemmen)- Kennzeichnungen für ausbalancierte Kamera mit gut sichtbaren weißen Farbpunkten oder Klebeband an Videoneiger und Schnellwechselplatte für einfache und schnelle MontageEvtl. Kauf eines Einbein-Stativs mit ausladendem, breiten Dreifuß: FEISOL Monopod CM-1443 oder CM-1473 Rapid und 5 kg Traglast, max. 207 cmFalls Mitarbeiter von Sirui mitlesen, paar Vorschläge:Mal die genannten Monopods von Feisol anschauen und verbessern (Zuladung).Wenigstens eine Konstruktion von 3 klappbaren, etwa 40 cm langen Füßen, evtl. steiler angewinkelt, mit breiterem Stand unter Beachtung der Biegesteifigkeit. Bewegliche Elemente mit Abdeckungen (Schutz vor Verschmutzungen) und Verriegelungen in verschmutzungssicherer Höhe. Es soll jedoch kein übliches, raumgreifendes, aufwändig montierbares Dreibein-Stativ entstehen, die gibt es bereits zur Genüge.Der Gummifuß ist zu verbessern, 2 Stück (einer mit Spike und Scheibe gegen zu tiefes Eindringen, einer mit dickem Vollgummi und großem Durchmesser, wahlweise und schnell montierbar) wären sinnvoll. Evtl. auch in 1 Stück kombiniert. Befestigung mit Standard-Schraube (metrisch) im Gummi.Gesamthöhe nur des Einbeins (ohne Sockel) mindestens 195 cm (anstelle 179 cm), so können auch bis etwa 1,85 m große Hobby-Astronomen mit 60 Grad angewinkelten, längeren Geradsicht-Ferngläsern mit einem Fernglasadapter geringer Höhe (Berlebach-Dachform) auf Videoneiger den Sternenhimmel sehen.Viel Erfolg beim nächsten Konstruktionsversuch.
