Very high quality unit.
Right out of the box, this tripod impressed me. It is very well constructed and much sturdier than other, cheaper models I’ve tried. I didn’t give it high marks for “landscape’ photography, since that’s not what I use it for. I use the tripod for close ups of local moths and humming birds, where I need a very stable platform that I can use for remote shutter release. Well worth the money.

Works great with multiple cameras
Overall I really like this tripod, it’s lightweight but study and is relatively easy to pack for longer trips. Like many tripods the base where you connect the camera feels a bit too flimsy but it’s about my only complaint with this tripod. Length wise it’s perfect, offers great stability and fits just about all of my cameras digital and even many film cameras.

Expensive but sturdy and versatile
I’ve got a bunch of different tripods, but I’ve never had one that has a side hole so that you can remove the center column and insert perpendicular to the ground. This seems like a really handy feature because there are times when the tripod legs can’t go where you’d like them to go or where the traditional mounting location prevents you from getting the angles you’d like. The listing page shows several instances where these issues might come up with the window and macro shooting.Removing the center column is very easy. All you have to do is unscrew a bottom cap and then pull out the pole (this also allows you to invert the pole if you want). Inside both the vertical and horizontal mounting holes, there are tabs. The center column has a groove. So, you do have to insert the column a certain way. This feature works great.The legs are sturdy and easy to adjust the angles, and this tripod is very flexible as far as the range of motion for the legs. Also, one of them can be removed to be used as a monopod or hiking pole.Everything folds up into a pretty compact form factor. This tripod also includes a carrying bag.The tripod, at $100, isn’t cheap, but there’s a lot of flexibility in what you can do, and the build quality seems pretty good. This definitely isn’t some cheap piece of junk with thin metal. I haven’t had this for that long yet, so there might be usage situations that I haven’t really dealt with where this tripod might be lacking, but for the time being, I am happy with this and haven’t found anything that seems obviously subpar.

Solid, stable, intuitive to use
This tripod is the opposite of a lightweight travel tripod; its heft is apparent from picking up the box.But in this case, that’s a good thing. The heft provides stability.I mounted a Sony A7 III at nearly full extension with the legs in the most narrow configuration possible and the rig was stable (though easy to tip!). With the legs fully extended and/or a counterweight, it is quite stable, even with a full-frame camera.The construction is very solid and all moving parts operate smoothly with proper tension.The only slight disappointment is perhaps the orange plastic sleeve/guide which seems a bit fragile and subject to being damaged or worn over time if dropped or switching frequently between mounting modes.Otherwise, every other part feels very well constructed and durable.A great option for multipurpose shooting.

Well-made tripod

Voor mijn lengte: 1,73 meter en de Sony 200-600 mm lens kan ik dit statief gebruiken zonder dat de middenkolom omhoog moet. Dit is goed voor bewegingsonscherpte doordat een middenkolom niet altijd even stabiel is. Ook kan ik rechtop blijven staan zonder krom te moeten staan. Perfecte hoogte dus voor mij.Dat de middenkolom ook horizontaal kan is wel handig heb ik ondervonden, maar dan moet de camera met lens niet te zwaar zijn. Mijn combiset is 1,233 kg en als deze dan aan horizontaal aan die middenkolom hangt, is dit wat topzwaar en vind ik het statief niet zo heel stabiel staan. Het kan, maar vertrouwen, doe ik dit niet en ben bang dat het geheel omvalt. Dit omdat al het gewicht dus aan 1 kant hangt. Wat gewicht op de statiefpoten leggen kan dit geheel dan stabieler maken. Of wat aan de haak hangen van aan de andere kant dan die middenkolom kan natuurlijk ook.Verder vind ik hem wel licht, maar had hem liever nóg lichter gehad. 1.457 kg weegt deze zonder de kop. De kop weegt 296 gram met plaat. De plaat is overigens van metaal.Ook had ik hem liever met clip locks gehad i.p.v. twist locks, maar dat is een persoonlijke voorkeur.
