The name Monarch has always been synonymous with optical excellence. Monarch M7 binoculars take that performance to a new level, pushing resolution, brightness and field of view even further. A wider field of view gathers more of the scene and more of what you’re out there to experience. An incredible Nikon optical system with ED glass and multilayer lens and prism coatings produces outstanding low-light capabilities, lifelike colors and extreme resolution at any distance. Long eye relief with turn-and-slide eyecups for easy adjustments, a locking diopter, a new oil and water repellent lens coating plus a waterproof, fog-proof rubber-armored design and more make this next generation worthy of the Monarch name.
Monarch M7 binoculars are available with 42mm or 30mm objectives (front lenses) and 8x or 10x magnification. The 42mm models deliver the widest view, while the 30mm models are more compact.
The roof prisms on Monarch M7 binoculars have a phase-corrected coating applied to prism surfaces for higher resolutions. This is a view you have to see to believe.
Applied to all lens and prism surfaces, a dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coating ensures superior transmittance uniformity across the visible range, resulting in brighter images and more natural colors.
An oil and water repellent coating is applied to both the objective and eyepiece lenses. Simply wipe away moisture, fingerprints and smudges.
Used in many premium Nikon optics, from camera lenses to spotting scopes, Nikon’s ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass virtually eliminates common distortion, chromatic aberrations and color fringing. The result? Clear high-resolution views in nearly any lighting condition.
Get as close as 6.6-ft (30mm models) from your subject for striking high-detailed views. The large, smooth-spinning central focus knob makes it easy to precisely adjust focus.
Monarch M7 binoculars deliver an astoundingly wide field of view up to 435-ft. at 1000 yards (8x models). See more details and more of the scene, making it easier to locate your subject when spotting birds and wildlife amid trees and landscapes.
Convenient turn-and-slide operation makes it easy to get the durable rubber eyecups right where you want them for maximum comfort and field of view – compatible with or without eyeglasses.
An enhanced rubber-armored body provides non-slip grip and protection from bumps and bruises.
Nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for fog-freeperformance. Keep your optics clear when you need them most.
Adjust for your vision—with or without glasses—then lock in the setting. A locking diopter knob is an exciting addition to Monarch M7 binoculars, a feature usually only seen in models costing much more.
Starting at just 16.4 ounces (8×30 model), Monarch M7 binoculars are a compact, lightweight companion for adventures of any kind.

Very bright field of view
These are great binoculars. Very bright, lighter than my 10-22 X 50mm binoculars. They are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Eye relief is very beneficial and easy to focus.

Poor image quality
Bought the 10×40 as well and that was a 10 out of 10. The 10×30 was subject to vibrations

Amazing field of view. Pictures are very clear and sharp. Love it !

Bought the 10×30 which were poor stability, but this one was great

Absolutely amazing view and compact!
These are amazing. I thought they would be much bigger after reading all the reviews that recommended 8X over 10X and 30 over 42 because of size and weight. But these are quite compact and light considering they are 10X42, and not that much bigger or heavier than most of the high end 8X30 binoculars on the market. Check the specs of the others before you buy and you will see size and weight are not that bad when you compare side by side. And way better than my old binocular. I would recommend over the 8X30 unless you are wanting to take them to the opera or put them in your pocket. Bright, clear and crisp. I think quite possibly among the best out there. The only issue is the neck strap is a pain to attach, but I purchased some quick release clasps (Small Rig rapid link connectors) so I can attach or detach the strap easily. Don’t hesitate. These are not your Dad’s binoculars.

Brilliant Binoculars
As a Birder these binoculars give great clarity into the shadows and a wonderful field of vision. Highly recommended. I don’t like the inside snap shut bottom caps. Would prefer the covers like before but sure like the attaching holders. Won’t lose the caps this way and more likely to use them to protect these lenses.

great binoculars
I have eye issues, and I also wear glasses, so I have particular needs when it comes to binoculars. With the Pentax SD 7×42, though the image quality is excellent, I was constantly struggling with blackouts around the edges. I also tried the Opticron Discovery 7×42, and I had the same issue, though to a much less severe extent. I ended up buying the Nikon Monarch M7 8×42, which is a good match for me: no blackouts and great image quality.

Nikon takes care of it’s customers
I have had a set of M5s for over 15 years. It is a clear & Crisp image, but I need to determine the quality. The Nikon Monarch M5 Waterproof Binoculars, 10 x 42, are light, small, and compact, the rubberized coating provides protection and can be held comfortably. They are fully sealed. They go through the rough West TX dust and mud during hunting season. The other time of the year, they live in my boat. I have had minor issues through the years, but Nikon always came through with a repair or new one. It is my pleasure to do business with Nikon!

Great binoculars, great customer service
Nikon USA just went above and beyond my expectations by fixing my 15 year old binoculars (the eye cups and focus knob were frozen) under warranty. I am really appreciative of their willingness to stand behind their products. The binos are excellent quality, and good as new!

eyecup adjustment wears out in a few months
The eyecup twist adjustment failed within a few months. I found a You Tube video on a home repair to replace the foam pads Nikon thinks will hold up for the detent adjustment. After a few months the eyecup just came loose and fell out in the field somewhere. Returned the bincoluars to Nikon for repair…waiting to see if they honor the 7 year warranty. very disappointing for a product with the Nikon name…diminsihes the brand for sure. Don’t waste you money. Shopping for an alternative now…

NIKON Monarch M7 10×42 model 16766
I owned/tried around 2-3 dozen binoculars in last 30+ years, price range up to $500. The latest NIKON Monarch M7, 10×42 – the best binoculars that I have owned. Bright, clear, sharp, excellent 362 ft. FOV and superb quality.

Wonderful binoculars
These Nikons are amazing binoculars. While not inexpensive they’re a good value for the price and compare favorably with well known brands costing several times as much. They are very ruggedly built, waterproof, easy to focus and lightweight. The locking diopter and turn and slide eyecups make it very easy to adjust them to your liking. The light gathering is excellent and the image is extremely clear.I hike 5 to 15 miles a day. I bought a Nyak harness and the combination of it and these great binoculars make a day on the trail a breeze.

Very nice
Nikon M5 or M7 are both very good, the M7 is wider angle but costs more. 8×42 is about the only size I take anywhere. 10×50 is too bulky, and compact 8x? doesn’t have the quality image. The M7 is very nice to use.

Very clear and bright image
I’m not a professional like some of the other reviewers – but I have used binoculars on and off pretty much my whole life (hiking, hunting, wildlife spotting, etc)I was a little hesitant to spend the money on these but now that I’ve looked through them I can see it was well worth every penny. Very crisp, clear and bright image.Would recommend

Crystal clear
I bought a $50 pair of binoculars with similar magnification from Amazon a couple of years back and the difference is night and day.The image and built quality are amazing. Bright and clear image from edge to edge. They have proven their worth when out photographing wildlife. I’m really satisfied with the value and quality of these binoculars. Highly recommend!

So far so good for months of use.
Been using these for months now for distances up to a couple hundred yards in American east coast woods. Definitely tell the difference between these and my other $100-$200 pairs. A lot clearer and I like how smooth the focus knob spins. No complaints.

Amazon slipping
I’m a fan of Nikon Binoculars, I’m sure if I didn’t recieve a pair that was clearly a return I would have been happy with them. Bought new, Amazon was the seller &shipper. The Monarch M7 was delivered in plastic bag, opening bag found proper M7 factory packaging but well worn and sticky something spilt on it or shipping labels removed. Optical quality well below monarch line of binoculars, fingerprints on lenses.

Great upgrade option!
Optics are a tiny hair better to my eyes than the Vortex Viper HD (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BR1VPYD), but very comparable. Excellent upgrade option from the ~$200 starter binos. Excellent resolution, contrast, and brightness. 8x magnification is great if you have trouble holding them super steady and get dizzy with 10x or 12x.

Incredible
I am thrilled with these binoculars! Purchased them for my camping trip (moose, deer and bird watching) I had the Monarch M511 10×42 which I loved but the right eye adjuster is broken. So I purchased these which are so clear and so much easier tracking a bird flying. Incredible.. I LOVE THESE binoculars and Keri them in my car at ask times!

Great binolculars
We took these on safari and these Nikon binoculars were wonderful. Super clear. Easy to use.As a note, other highly rated binoculars are the Athlons. We also bought the 8×42 Midas G2 and took these on the trip as well. The Nikons were significantly better than these. I’d urge you to try both and compare for yourself.

Great binocs.
I love these binocs. My older binocs are Monarch 5 8×42 and I loved them, too. My wife got involved in birding with me, so I opted to get this 10×42 Monarch 7. So far they exceed my expectations. Bigger, wider image that is sharp and bright. Great pair.

Great binoculars for birding
I purchased these for birding and they have been great during my birding adventures. I can’t compare them to other binoculars in the same class, but these and the M5’s were highly recommended so I shelled out more money for the M7’s and I have no regrets.

The image is so crisp and clear.
Loved the Nikon quality! The locking diopter works great once you get used to it, license plates and house numbers are crisp and easy to read from a block and a half away, my other binoculars don’t come near the clear sharp image I get with the monarch M7 , these will be my go to binoculars when out and about, I also have a Swarovski SLC that I’ve had for years, due to their weight I generally take them camping or places that I don’t have to carry them to far. These Monarch M7s will be taking the hikes with me for sure.

Worth the Money!!
I like the quality of the images and the ease of use at a fair price. My wife lives on the Hudson River and her old binoculars had very narrow field of vision and the image wasn’t always sharp. These binoculars enable her to clearly see Kayakers over a mile away in detail as well as Eagles over a mile away in detail. Other birds and wildlife are also able to be seen in great detail over long distances. The improvement is phenomenal over the old binoculars and these are used practically every day.

Right on!
Finally found the pair that I like! Totally worth it!Super sharp and clear! Clear – able to have a positive ID on a person at about 700 yards, can make out details on clothing etc at 1200+ yards. Ability to use against light like no other. Extremely high apparent angle of view. Bright for night use and contrasty enough in cloudy weather. Hope it lasts me a life time. Thank you Nikon and Amazon!!!

Wonderful optic clarity
I own 3 pair of binoculars, Nikon ProStaff 10×50, Leupold Alpine 12×52, and these, Nikon Monarch M7 10×42 and the optical clarity for the M7 is so much better than either of the other two. The difference in the detail is stunning. I use them for hunting, fishing and birdwatching. They are also very lightweight and easy to hold to my eyes for a longer time. If what you see is important, I recommend these binocs.

Nice set of binoculars
I own Nikon camera equipment also, these are a really nice set of binoculars, I have a set of vortex vipers which are in the same price category these keep up with them. No complaints, just a solid pair of binoculars, start to get into the really pricey stuff above these and the diminishing returns really starts to kick in. Buy a pair and be happy!

Amazing binoculars
I found this model listed as a Best Buy in its price category on numerous ornithology/bird watching lists. Don’t wait your whole life like I did buying $40 binoculars. I use Nikon microscopes at work and the optics and picture quality of these binoculars is comparable. The performance rivals binocs that cost 2-4 times as much money.

Amazing for the price.
I got the 8×30 for my wife for birding. I am something of an optics geek, but I was really impressed with these. Love the size and weight. Surprisingly generous eye relief given the specs. Wide field of view. Excellent close focus. Bright and sharp with excellent detail and color. Not quite a match for the optics of my 6x as expensive Swarovski’s but the difference is small. Swarovski’s have a more precise focus and more depth of field, but the differences are small for the price. Don’t buy the hype that a bigger, more expensive 42 mm binocular is brighter. That is only true if you use them in the dark when your pupils are dilated. In normal daylight use these have the same brightness and are so much easier to use because of how light weight they are. Highly recommended.

Great quality optics for astronomy and terrestrial use
I’ve never owned a pair of binoculars before. I wanted something light that I could keep in the car for spontaneous viewing and that I could use for stargazing when I don’t feel like lugging out all my telescope gear. I also wanted something high quality that I could use for years to come. These work well for that. The build quality is excellent. The eye relief is good – I use these with my glasses on and the eye cups dialed in. It makes it easy to hand the binoculars to my non-visually challenged friends so they can look at what I’m pointing out… I just have to remind them to twist the eye cups out real fast. The optical quality is excellent. I’m not going to pretend to be an expert here. To me, things look great with some minor exceptions. First off, for the most part, if I’m looking at something terrestrial, like my friend’s dog, the quality is stunning. It’s like I’m staring at a high definition crisp image of the dog (who’s the good girl? Daisy’s the good girl!). If I’m looking at something terrestrial like a wall that’s not too far off, and the sun is bright, and I’m at the correct angle, there is some chromatic aberration (a slight purple fringing). The solution is pretty easy – just shift your angle a tiny bit and it’s gone. I did read up a bit on this phenomenon and it appears to be expected unless you’re willing to spend 2x+ $ or you’re willing to settle for heavier binoculars. For astronomy, they’re great! Again, keep in mind that I wanted portable, so weight is a factor. Some of the astronomy binoculars out there are as heavy as a small apochromatic refractor telescope. A 42mm aperture resulted in the right balance between light gathering and weight for my purposes. There’s some debate around preferences for 8×42 vs 10×42. I initially regretted getting the 10×42 because it is difficult to hold these steady enough that the stars aren’t shaking all over the place. A cheap Amazon Basic’s monopod with a third-party adapter fixed that problem for cheap. For me, mission accomplished. I got high quality binoculars that are light, a pleasure to look through, durable, and likely to be near by when I’m on the move so I can use them when I need them. Like a camera, the best binoculars you have are the ones you have on you.

Perfect Balance Between Portability, Optics, and Affordability
Got these after we had visited Costa Rica and found our previous portable binoculars … lacking.Took these with us on a recent trip and met someone who had Lieca 8×32 binoculars. I compared them in a dark forest setting and would be hard-pressed to tell the difference in the optics. These Nikons are awesome!Pros:+ optics are phenomenal: clear, crisp, and bright!+ Very easy to use – adjusting diopter and lens separation made it easy for my wife and I to share these+ small size & low weight makes them easy to pack and carry+ lens covers (front and rear) can all be attached so won’t get lost+ includes soft case that can be folded down to save space when using binocularsCons:None that I can think of.Highly recommended!

great viewing quality, question on lens separation
Love the view from these binoculars, the details are spectacular. The only concern I have is that I’m uncomfortable with the separation of the lenses for me to get a “full” view through the lenses. If the lenses are not separated to the correct distance the user does not get a “full” view through the eyepieces – this is a custom adjustment that is different for everyone. In my case I have to fully separate the lenses to get the fullest view through the eyepieces – and I am fully adjusted to the stops on the binoculars. I’m not that large of a fellow, so, wonder how well the binoculars do for folks that have eyes that are spaced further apart than mine.

Small and light enough to carry easily in the field, great optical clarity, a wide field of view, and a good, bright image in low light conditions. I LOVE the locking diopter adjustment (although I recognize this is only a helpful feature for single-user binocs). The focus wheel and eye separation adjustment are just a little on the stiff side, which I like; but this is very much a matter of personal preference, and some people will prefer less resistance in these adjustments. I find these glasses very comfortable in the hand, with a nice “grippy” texture to the armor coating. Altogether, a really superior pair of mid-range binoculars in my opinion. They are one of the more expensive choices in their class, but worth it for the performance and features they offer.
